Honestly , I love Georgia Gwinnett this is my first year and already I feel this school will be one every soon

The school is great, I'll stay if they get a actual basketball team not intramural. The reviews I've read so far are people just complaining. If they were at university they wouldn't find parking at all. The teachers/professors are cool too, One of my professors is like a friend, Lol if I get married she's invited. People usually come here for Nursing or business but there's other things also. I'm a film major, but it's a minor here. The more people who sign up the better(;. When I came here I didn't like it because it's close to home. Even though I went to high school over here I never had anyone from my old school in my classes, thank God lol. I do want to transfer, not because the school is bad but because my major isn't here.

I enjoyed my time here but it has gotten way too big and building hasn't been able to keep up.

Best college experience I could have ever asked for. Professors are willing to help if you put the work in. I would love for people to find this kind of attention at this low price anywhere else in the world. You get out what you put into your experience! Join clubs, get involved, make friends with your classmates.

I hated the campus and found that most aspects were ran inefficiently. I attended GGC for one semester in the summer and absolutely hated my experience. I understand that the campus is new and still growing however many of the policies made no sense. I was classified as a transient student who commuted, yet I was still forced to purchase a meal plan even though I literally lived less than 10 minutes away from campus. What's worse is that the "meal plan" placed over $100 on my ID which only worked at 4 dining locations which all closed early (~3pm) and the dining hall had awful hours that weren't convenient at all. Needless to say, I couldn't use all of my money in time and had two options: 1. GGC just took my money 2. Fill out a document to have it transfer as credit on my student account. Which is basically the same as 1 since I am a transient student and will never take classes at GGC ever again The employees at the admissions were unhelpful and very rude. When over 10 people are in line with the same question (who were all transient students) you cannot claim you sent an email and give us an attitude because I am pretty sure it's impossible that all of us magically lost this fictional email. I even checked the stupid GGC email they provide you with, and it was not there. The parking situation was outrageous as most of the parking available to students were gravel. And to find a decent parking spot not on gravel you would either have to circle the parking lot for over 15 minutes or park in the single parking garage they offered which was nowhere near any building with classes. For this summer semester I took 4 credits as GGC totaling over $1000, and at the same time I also took 4 credits at my home institution which cost me a little over $600. Needless to say, I will never take classes here (if any more would transfer) and I would never recommend this college to anyone. To high school students who are researching colleges, trust me when I say it is worth the effort to study a little bit harder to get into any other college.

Good school in my opinion... good professors, small classrooms! Good friendly environment, decent price, if you work hard you will get your degree. Normal based campus with dorms, not a lot of parties but you can always visit friends somewhere else. The school keeps growing.

Hannah Roach

I only went here for 1 semester as a transient student. Everyone I dealt with at this school, students, professors, staff, everyone was so rude. Do not go to school here if you can help it. I would give it negative stars if I could.

This is a great college! Great professors, beautiful campus, and state of the art technology. I've been a student for two years now and I've loved every moment here. I doubt it will be long before this college becomes a university.

Kynder Ganoe

This was the first college I attended and I transferred because of a few reasons. The infrastructure was nice but other than that the quality of education is just OK for what you're paying. There are other schools that are the same price (or cheaper) but you're able to live in dorms, get a better hands-on education and the entire college experience. If you are looking at this school because it's in the area and you want the most out of your money, I would just attend GA State or Kennesaw and make the commute instead. The price is just too much for attending a community-college type of campus. Although, they have changed and added more programs, I wouldn't try to convince people to attend here unless it's your only option.

This school offers only a few good things for their students: affordability, flexibility in schedules, and good teachers (for the most part). Either than that, this school is not for students who are looking for a college experience. The food is awful, the students are immature and disrespectful to all the teachers, and teachers have to talk to them like they are in middle school. The kids here have no drive whatsoever, no one's ambition is to be successful in school, so do not expect to be motivated by students around you. Whenever walking by the dorms, one can be frightened because of the smell of marijuana, student loitering and trash, and awful loud music. There is no diversity to the dorms. There was recently a shooting at the parking deck and the parking alone is awful because of hoe inconsiderate students are. People will see you have your turning signal on to park and they will take your spot anyways. There is no school pride or any interesting school activities. Overall, going to GGC is like going to work in nice office buildings. It was the worse decision for me to go there my freshman year. Luckily I'm transferring out.

This school was all work with no glory. The "Saving money" part doesn't help in the long run when you're making lower 5 figures. I go to GSU now and thats barley cutting it, its a good undergrad, GGC is only good for freshman year. Even then you're still going to regret it. If your GPA is above 2.8, go else where.

Parents do not allow your kids to go here. Every semester my kids have at least 1 professor that refuses to teach. Last semester my son’s chemistry 2 prof. Announced on the first day of class that she does not lecture and left it up to her students to figure it out on there own. Needless to say he couldn’t and will be taking chemistry 2 over again in summer semester. This semester my daughter has a pre-calculus professor who gives graded assignments on material that will then be taught during the following class after the assignment is due. She also does all her quizzes and tests online with fine frames that give no regard to other classes or jobs the students might have. Doesn’t matter if you know the material and could easily pass a paper test in class, not and option, you must take it online at the given time frame it doesn’t matter if you have a job or have assignments from other classes due, all this online homework and teaching I’m wondering what exactly we are paying the professors for.

Great school, excellent teachers! One of the best choices I've made. Sure the parking is a mess, but when a school grows by thousands each semester what do you expect? They have made modest accommodations, and other then that I love the school. So what it isn't a party school, or the campus is boring? Its a SCHOOL. It has been a lifesaver for me, and I do not regret it one bit!

The parking situation is terrible. The campus is nice and clean.

Affordable. They claim that 4 years of college here cost less than $25 grands. This is a young college, est. 2005. So, facilities are new. They just need to pave the rest of their parking lots. The in-state tuition cost for a 3-credit class is about $400. Plus all the junk fees total to approximately $600. These junk fees will be added to the total cost per semester. Whether you 1 class or 5 classes, you pay the same fee. So, if you decide to take 1 class during summer, your cost is $1,000. Advice: take multiple classes per semester.

PLEASE READ===why does my review always magically get deleted.. Although this school has appealing architecture, the campus, staff, and security sucks. The people who work in admissions and other campus offices are unprofessional and are not efficient at all. The school is way too strict and offers very little to no compelling school activities. There is no school pride. There is no diversity. There are no attractions. The recreation center is a joke and resembles a recently furnished warehouse. There is only one basketball court which the rims need replacing, and the space in the gym itself feels overly cramped. The school decided to take away benches so that students and families can't relax outside and enjoy the weather. Food selections are very thin and usually bland in taste. This school would be a lot better if there were more campus events that took advantage of the huge, wasteful field located in front of the B building. Campus events would compel more students to interact with other students and enjoy their time on campus which would relieve stress and motivate them to actually do good in class. When I attended GGC, my grades were averaging a C and my gpa was unacceptable. Once I transferred to GA State, my grades maintained an A average immediately.. In conclusion, if you were interested in intending this school, I suggest you second guess.. Georgia Perimeter would be a much better option.

Honestly I hate this school. I usually don't write reviews but I undeniably hate this school and I CAN NOT WAIT TO TRANSFER. They are careless with your money and NEVER let you know about a deadline. They will HIDE the deadline and when it comes up "Oh well". Also the classes are a nice size but after visiting MANY other college I realized the class sizes are the same at the bigger and better colleges in Georgia just like this one. This is a commuters college for sure, The campus is always DEAD during the weekend. The events would be decent if people actually showed up but not many do. Even if people did show up most of the events are really lame anyway and they target only one type of crowd rather than targeting everyone. They make it seem like it's a diverse campus and it is... until the commuters go home. Only 3% of the people who attend the school live in the dorms and the security in the dorms are BY FAR worst part. You have to swipe your card EVERY TIME you come in the dorm. Does not matter if the guard knows your name or your carrying many things about to drop them nothing matters. I have witnessed them CHASING kids in the elevator who try to just go to their room b/c they have many things in their hands and the guards know their name know they live here but do not care. And let me not forget about the guard who sits at the back entry way. On the weekends they cook you the same nasty food they cook everyday but with left overs on the weekend. The dinning hall sucks and everything is over priced. They have kids answering the phone when you need help for whatever and you call the school. It is very rare that you will talk to someone who actually knows 90% of what they are doing. Honestly I can go on and on about this campus but IT IS THE WORST AND I WILL NEVER GO BACK. Save your time, Money and expectations because this school may not be for you.

I love this college, the professors, the work, the classes, everything except for one thing. The staff at the front desk of the D building need to be a little less rude. At the end of the day I’m trying to ensure I get my classes and everything is fixed. There was a mistake made by my professor. I told her I was on the class list yesterday and now I was no longer in it and she blatantly told me I wasn’t on the list for a week practically calling me a liar. Repeating over and over I was not going to get back into the class. I get it may be difficult, but I was being corporative and trying to make my point come across. Until she saw it was a no show she finally shut up and explained what I should do. I love my college, and I plan on spending three more years attending. And now when I have an issue and I want to resolve it I have to deal with some unneeded attitude.

Bad policy a every possible step. Terrible meal plan policy, terrible dorm policy and setup, terrible course appeal and register policys, terible campus police staff, terrible admission staff makes sure people money gets lots and caught up or classes dropped every semester for trivial problems that are there fault and then instead of fixing the problem they lean more towards simpliy mybad. What kind of shool kicks students out trying to study. Not 1 24 hour study center. Then the library closes early all the time. Multiple times I've been a student when they decided closing during finals earlier then normal was a bright idea. Once saying the reason was to save power? Bad parking alarmingly terrible. Nothing but gravel lots and one small parking deck that fills up quick. 80% chance you are parking on the gravel if you are not at school before or after 8-4 o'clock. Thus school is on the rocks literally. I've been to many other campuses in Georgia and it seems just about every other campus has a better hold of things this campus is just cleaner, newer and in a good location. The good news stops there. Very good and doing nothing for you and taking all the credit. This school displays there 4 pillars everywhere but lives up to none of them. Nobody gets a scholarship from these guys that's a fairy tail. Nobody is getting a word class education here. More busy work than learning. All there campus of tomorrow tech never works. This school is good however at dropping the ball. Then making it difficult to recover.

This school is absolutely awesome. One of the reasons I chose this school is that there is no tenure for professors - if a teacher is there, it is because that teacher got good reviews from their students in the past. This means you end up with faculty members who are not only knowledgeable about their subjects, but actually truly enjoy teaching. There is also a tuition cap - even if you sign up for 16 credit hours, you only ever pay for 12, and if you qualify for both the HOPE and PELL scholarships, you will still be able to get a reimbursement every semester which helps if you are trying to work and attend school at the same time!

All of these reviews are not Georgia Gwinnett College! It is gravel but the school is always improving, that's why and they have so many students they wanted to make a temporary parking lot to fit them so the students wont have to walk to far. The school pride comes from the students you make the school what it is. I go here now and everyday is something new and exciting and I'm a house person I don't like to leave but there is so much to do on the campus I barely see my dorm!

I’d love if the student parking lots didn’t have potholes, the gravel is fine but the potholes need to be addressed. Every semester the potholes reappear. The school itself is fine, small classes and a majority of professors are all great

Gabby Folkes

Avoid this school if you can. Yes, the class sizes are very accommodating, but if you plan on transferring to an out-of-state school, GGC will give you nothing but issues. They are not accredited to most out of state universities and you will have to send your prospective school every syllabi you have ever had in order to see if your credits will transfer. Yes it is cheap, but if you are looking for a college experience with things to do, AVOID this school.

J Rich

I am going into my sophomore year at GGC and this school is literally like a second high school. You learn the same things you should already know, but you are paying for it. Most of the students, who aren't the older ones, are very immature. I also live on the campus and it is very boring. Not like you would expect college to be, and I am not a party person, I just dont like to sit in my room all day. Dorms are very strict which they should be so that we are protected and the admissions office is terrible. They never answer the phone

Chris Brown

GGC is the first college of the 21st century. The classes are small which allows for more individual assistance from faculty. GGC is also the most diversified institution in the Southeast.

Monica Garway

Lizzie Hernandez

It's an AMAZING school, teachers show interest in students being successful. BUT! one thing I did HATE and I'm everyone else is that the parking is TERRIBLE. They need to make parking more accessible. Cars park literally in front of others and in the middle of the driveway in the gravel parking, which sucks. Luckily I always get good parking in front "A" building I commute and hour and 30 minutes so I'm always there at 6am. However the school is great, academics are great.

Joseph Troxel

Dontrell Keys

GGC is a great school with small classes along with a nice campus. The dorms are nice and modern, i also like that you have your own room. I just wish the dorms were more diverse.

Kelsey M.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. First off the only reason I took a class here was so I could transfer the credits off to my actual college. It's one simple online psychology course over the summer no big. I was told it'd be $169 per credit also no big. Go to pay for my class and what do I see? $357 of extra fees tacked onto my balance including parking (yes parking for an online class), athletics, campus improvement, and others. I called Student Accounts and made an appeal with Financial Aid because it's one online class why am I paying $357 for improvements/activities for a school I don't actually go to. I was denied and told it's mandatory. B.S.!!! Not only that but I'm so confused on when this class starts and who my instructor is and it's supposed to start now around the end of May. I'm trying to log-in to the online learning system and it's telling me it doesn't recognize my log-in when I had just made it a second before using it to log-in and it's got me locked out. Honestly it's making me rethinking just going ahead and graduating late and taking this course at my actual college.

My experience as a returning sophomore student at 44 was awesome. I'm now a senior and cant wait to graduate. I have been going to evening classes all of my 3 years, and I am reading some of these reviews and I don't see any of these things that are rated 1 star. My experience from 2014 to now (February 2017) has been GREAT! But keep in mind the school is still fairly new and still in the growing phase.

Anon

This is one of the worst public schools in Georgia, the other being Savannah State, although at least Savannah has student life. Georgia Gwinnett tries to hide the fact that it's 93% commuter. There are very few sports, and no Greek life. The graduation rate is SIX PERCENT, the worst I've ever seen! If you have a 2.8+, you can do much better.

Lindsey Zegel

GGC overall is a fairly nice school for a college. You can't really expect a full University experience so if you're looking for that, go elsewhere. Definite pros are the awesome professors and small class sizes allow learning a personal experience between you, your professor, and your classmates. The campus is beautiful and despite previous reviews, there is now outside seating for enjoying good weather. The food is somewhat improved though most people eat at the Chick-fil-a, panda express, or subway. My only complaints are parking and inexperienced or rude staff in the administration offices.

I have been attempting to finish my application at GGC for a while now and each time I call for information, I am met with rude customer service. After multiple times of dealing with this, I can only assume that my experience attending this school will not be worth the accumulated student loans. Someone needs to retrain the staff.

Dylan Bazzell

Sinners. Oh wait...is that a fighting word? Shame on you for wasting my tax dollars!

Jessica Thomas

Twice now I have gotten a nail in my tire after parking in the gravel parking lots. I generally avoid them but spending 10-15 minutes searching for a parking space is incredibly tiresome and a waste of gas which sometimes leaves me no other choice but to park in the gravel parking lots. Also that 4 way stop is incredibly dangerous as it seems most people don't have a basic understanding of road rules. I think maybe they should invest in a light or something because people do not seem to understand how stop signs work. Generally I love my teachers and the class sizes and the campus is beautiful and has pretty much everything you need right there. I am about to graduate soon and i have thoroughly enjoyed my time and the environment here. It really is a wonderful school filled with wonderful teachers and wonderful people.
