The coursework is rigorous which is a good thing, however education programs do not lead to certification as suggested by the dean and all promotional materials.

I came to St. Thomas University in Spring 2014 and I love it! I never thought I was going to go have such a great time. My three years in STU have represented the most beautiful years on my life. I have been able to educate myself in the classroom and also have been able to gain work experience by working for the Residential Life department. Both my professors and my employers have shaped the person that I am right now, of all this three years I have only encountered with loving and caring staff and faculty guiding me step by step in my life. Currently, I will be graduating in the class of May 2017, however, I do not want to live STU and already applied for my Masters. Coming from a foreign country, I thought my adaptation will be very difficult but STU and its environment have made it for than easy, living on campus has given me a wide idea of other cultures and ways of thinking, and I honestly feel like home. You will always commemorate the day you chose St. Thomas University for your education, I hope to see your around in a place a call HOME!! LET'S BE LEADERS FOR LIFE!!!!

Stay AWAY from this school, overcharging students, giving false award letters. I say false award letters because after students signed up to attend this schools based on award letter provided they don’t honor it causing students to drop off or seek other schools. Some students even lost the opportunity to attend other prestigious university based on St. Thomas false award letter like my daughter and waste a term seating at home due to St. Thomas lack of professionalism. I emailed Mr. Armstrong assistant Ms. Duran and Mrs. Wagner on April 2nd and I’m still waiting to hear from them. My email was asking to help me schedule a meeting with Mr. Armstrong to provide our horrible experience feedback to help them address their deficiencies to avoid this from happening to other students and get St. Thomas to be once again a prestigious university. Unfortunately nobody seems to care, high employee turnover, my daughter was not assign an advisor; the first day of school she sat in an empty classroom for about an hour to only find out teacher had RESIGNED. They assigned her other clases “online classes” the “free summer classes” is a SCAM.. students pay for 15 credits but they only allow you to take 12. When my daughter questioned them she was told “deal with it” she was denied the right to take 15 credits because since she didn’t have an advisor she skipped classes needed to take prior to attending summer classes. How can that be her fault!? She sat on an empty classroom and then someone assigned her classes because St. Thomas failed to find a replacement professor for her class. They don’t care about teaching, they don’t care about students. I am in the process of reporting them to school board, BBB and news channel because they’re ruin kids life. That’s just financially speaking but can you imagine what impression are this kids getting after high school graduation? My daughter graduated from Coral Reef senior high law magnet program with a high gpa score. She is focused and determined, it’s hard breaking seeing her defeated because they DONT care about her future. She tried speaking to higher administration (Mr. Armstrong) who only gives excuses and zero resolutions. Shame on you Mr. Armstrong and your staff for behaving in such unprofessional, unethical and irresponsible manner.

STU just like other universities has Pros and Cons. During the time i was there, there was a bit of construction going on or plans of construction to modify the school. Major problem at the school was parking. Not enough parking so its literally a fight to get a spot

My daughter had an appointment to visit the school as a prospect student for the fall. We drove five hours to visit the and it seemed like they didn't even had anything , material, prepared for her. She brought her acceptance letter and other paperwork for the school and the gentlemen kept looking at her paperwork. He didn't answer anything about financial aid that we didnt already know from the paperwork that was mailed to us. We was showed the library, bookstore, cafeteria, where the classrooms was. While the gentlemen was walking over he didnt talk very much but was on his cell phone texting. He spent 15 mins. showing us the campus and we drove five hours and spent money for a hotel. Was not worth our families time to visit this school at all. We had set up an appointment and I dont believe they was aware we tried nor cared we was there to plan our visit to their school. I would not recommend a visit to this school.

This place is horrible! Worst provost! She’s an idiot when it comes to issues in the school. Teacher don’t teach and don’t follow the Syllabus. I thought it would be a great place to continue my catholic education, boy was I wrong! Try your hardest to go to FIU or Miami-Dade. They are much better schools!

Juan Medina

Great academic and athletic opportunities for many different higher level students with interests in business, information technology, sports management, baseball, volleyball, soccer, etc. Highly recommended, and plenty of reputable alumni. A strong school network.

After having left this school completely unhappy, I went to FIU. I have never felt so free in my life. Everyone who asks me why I transferred and I explain to them by awful experience, most of which agree and know someone that went through something similar. I know I am not alone in this, but I definitely do not want other students looking to go to college to be given false information and then end up being hurt at the end of the day. I am telling you this institution is not worth it, it is extremely expensive, the faculty and staff do not care and never respond to your calls or emails. I worry for any other student that even CONSIDERS going here because you will soon know exactly what I am talking about. I chose STU over almost a full ride to Stetson University for STU's 3+3 JD program and I can NEVER change that, but I can change those of looking for a University, whether it is you (the student), parent, and/or guardian. I do not want anyone else to through the discrimination, humiliation, and ignorance I went through with staff members, including President Armstrong who verbally said I was not "handling my situation correctly" because I was emailing too many people. Well maybe if your staff answered the phone and emailed back or were even in the office to speak to then it could have been handled better. The only reason President Armstrong called my cell was because he wanted me to take down my Google Reviews and later threatened to expel me if I didn't. For a "Catholic" "Non-Profit University", they must be doing something wrong for all these students finally speaking up and putting their experiences on google review (which may be removed if they get threatened as well like I was). Even Richard McNab, the VP of Student Affairs was involved in trying to remove me and I never had my issues resolved. I filed a Title IX complaint against the President and Mr. McNab and still am waiting to hear back, but nothing months after. How unfortunate. Please do not go here, I encourage you to not even apply. There are more serious and welcoming schools than this one. I really regret coming here, I could have gone anywhere I graduated with a 4.2 GPA and as a certified paralegal right out of High School and this is what the University does to me in return? I could've offered so much and yet their "Google Reviews" matter more to them, a big loss for them because they lost a great student they could've kept.

If I could give this school and my experience there negative stars i would. This school tries to make you pay as much as possible without really telling you until the payment due date is right around the corner. They like to make people think they are getting a lot of scholarships and financial help and then add in extra charges where you wouldn’t notice until it’s too late. It has happened to me twice already. Then when you try to call and speak to someone, no one has a straight answer and no one really knows what they are doing , that’s if they even pick up the phone because most of the time they do not. They don’t return phone calls or emails the majority of the time either. The financial aid office is terribly run. It’s an absolute mess.

Currently in their online program for Organizational Leadership, and hope to finish within the year. Great campus, amazing professors, and welcoming student population.

Awesome institution! I definitely recommend checking it out!

Jorge Colon

Students please do not go into this institution. I have been scammed by the faculty and no response nor action has been made to correct the situation. The advisors do not actually advise, they are the teachers who are clueless and do not know precisely what they are doing. Do yourself a favor, and stay away at all costs, you will end up with a massive amount of loans.

My daughter was accepted to STU for Fall 2018 and was awarded the Presidential Award. We did all the proper paper work and asked the necessary question. We traveled from the V.I. to Miami in time for the opening of the dorms. After doing all the processing ID, room key, checking the dorm room and making sure that everything was ok. We went back to the business office to hand in another scholarship check and make sure that her account was good. That is when we almost had an HEART ATTACK! at this moment we are now being told about an obserbant balance and that the balance and it has to be paid by this semester and next semester has another balance. We were so heart broken and devasted. We were sent to Financial Aid to see if anything could be done to get no help but be told we can try another school or Miami Dade and I was like "Are you serious, where would she live. We are not from here"! They then proceded to send us to the Office of Student Affairs who tried to pull a rabbit out of their hat. In the end my daughter decided along with me to withdraw from the school and return home which now cost me another airfare, lodging and transportation. My daughter was sooooo heartbroken! What an EXPERIENCE!!!! I hope that no one goes through what we did. It was in deed a learning experience.

I decided to do my Sport Administration grad program here because it would only take a year, and could be done online. The acceptance process was fairly quick but also difficult, it felt like interviewing for a job, but they didn't require any of the normal grad exams. The course progression is fairly simple, and the professors are pretty good, but I found myself writing a bunch of discussion posts instead of doing any real work: "read the book, make a page long comment". I don't feel I retained any of the "education" I got and my 1-year program cost as much as my 4-year undergraduate degree. I was completely in the dark on the loan filings, and its difficult to get any clear answers from support staff. I have had NO luck finding a job post-graduation, and the career services department asked me if I had a Handshake account (which really only has accounting and marketing jobs posted to it) and never emailed me back.

TERRIBLE!!!!!! After applying and getting accepted, I was taken to through the ringer!!!!! I was constantly called about "what's to come next" just to get told 2DAYS BEFORE CLASSES WERE TO START, that's they were no longer doing my master's program. Not to mention I had already been through orientation!!!! THANKS FOR WAISTING MY TIME STU!

Arianna Lupi

My experience at STU has been amazing. This school has offered me many opportunities to achieve my goals. Classes are small and personalized so professors actually get to know you. On-Campus life is great, and easy to adapt to, specially when you live far from home. Fully recommended!!!

I would give it 0 stars if I could. I regret the day that I signed up for this school. They are never helpful and if you try calling or emailing them good luck at getting a timely response or any at all. Honestly, Miami Dade is better at customer service or any help than they are and that’s saying a lot. They are constantly making changes just to try to get more money from students. Horrible experience. Can’t wait to finish and never go back to this school again.

This school has the worse the absolute worse nursing program. I feel like they only care about my money and can careless if you fail or leave the institution. You’re honestly better off trying to get in Miami Dade or somewhere else than here. Staff doesn’t care about student concerns, very rude, and inflexible. They belittle students. Being that you are paying for a Catholic School education you should expect things to be in order but it’s ridiculous how unorganized this program is ran. So many students have already left this program, and I believe that should say something to the staff on how improperly everything is being ran. If I can give this nursing school negative stars I would. I wish I spent my money some place else. GET A NEW STAFF AND RUN THE PROGRAM BETTER!!

LIARS!!! UNPROFESSIONAL!!! My son was offered a fellowship at St Thomas University in order to cover a portion of his tuition cost. He then quit his job, registered for classes at the university, and one week later was told there would be NO FELLOWSHIP. He now has no job, no classes and a very sour taste in his mouth. My husband and I are very angry and disappointed but even more so we are shocked that an institution of higher learning would LIE AND MANIPULATE their students. What a disgraceful place. I will NEVER recommend this institution to anyone.
