Finish and they hand you a paper called a degree in the most uncertain future the profession has seen in design. They do not expose this part because... they just want your money.

Leonardo Jose

At the least one of the ladies there, when I called, kindly said no - when I asked if she would have stomped in the name of Jesus.

Ssaym Tae

words simply do not do justice to how abysmal this university is so hopefully the attached picture will help add another thousands words to illustrate what a cautionary dead end trap this place is... we've all heard the public sector stereotypes but for the student body to be as aware as we are of the cancerous environment that plagues this alleged place of higher learning is truly remarkable. just read the other reviews posted here about the experiences we've had with the various unbelievable staff; it's not just the faculty that are appalled by the administration however there's even a few bad apples from the teaching side now too it sounds like depending on what college you are taking your chances and tempting fate.... hate to be cliche, but stay away from here talented peoples -- the rumors are indeed sad but true about "Find Another University" : )

Idu By World

High quality training center. It has several learning fields and very relevant content. Still having trained professionals of good quality. The structure here is beautiful and new. It still has parking and work area for students.

ernst masseant

Great school

Alyssa Swann

A lot of bad reviews, no bueno

Melissa Gibster

Parking Nazis. I get tickets when we go there for my daughters soccer games

This is the university that encourages the hate of Jesus. Deandre Poole leads the team with his stomping on pictures of Jesus classroom games. Enjoy.

Campus pretty good. The vibe is good. Professors are good. However you are only as strong as your weakest link, and the staff is dreadful. F.A.U. Find Another University. Trust me, it's better for you.

I love FAU. Beautiful, active campus where you can receive a great education and find many opportunities for future success if you seek them out.

John Harbilas

Prime location by the beach, great campus atmosphere, and Lane Kiffin.

Where do I begin? First of, the advisers here ARE TERRIBLE. Every time I have gone for help, each one tell me something different. 90% of the time, they are lying or making stuff up as they go along. I spent an entire summer trying to transfer somewhere else because an adviser had told me I failed chemistry twice and would have to become a General Education major. After a whole summer of being stressed out on transferring to Lynn and losing a lot of money with transferring and tuition, another FAU adviser said "just do psych bruh, you don't have to transfer lol". WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME THIS?? Now I wasted the entire summer thinking of where to graduate and what to do when I could have just taken classes to begin with! The ALEKS placement is a huge joke as well, why am I allowed to take statistics for my psych degree but can't enter a basic college algebra course without taking a stupid placement exam? Turns out, the advisers have no idea either. There is no nightlife here, no parties, and every shop on campus closes at 6 PM. The location of this campus is this school's only saving grace. Just go somewhere else.

Very clean well established school..i would highly recommend this place

Truly enjoyed my time at FAU for graduate school. Go Owls!

Welcome to Florida Atlantic University.

The school needs to be less occupied on people's opinions and more occupied on its academic integrity. It doesn't matter if does whatever in their personal time, as long as they do their job to the standards of the university then its none of the schools business. The school's per-occupation with their social imagine should be enough to assume that the school focus' on its students, faculty and its academics second. On the bright side, a spineless college is a great place to learn about mob coercion!

Ryan McIntire

Its one of the few schools you can watch grow and be apart of the history. The Academics is great and contantly improving. The school has great history beyond being a school since it was a military base that trained the pilot who bombed Hiroshima and the Library holds important national artifacts. The athletics are improving, with baseball, softball, and diving amongst the schools consistently good sports. All sports are free for students to attend. Even the cheapest dorms are really nice compared to FSU or UF, and the campus isnt so big you NEED a bike, as a walk to class is less than 10 minutes. The weather is consistently warm year round, and the beach is less than 3 miles away. You are going to school where people hope to vacation, and places like Delray Beach, Ft.Lauderdale, Miami, and the Florida Keys are all within a few hours at the farthest. Pro sports teams like the Marlins, Dolphins, Panthers, and Launch are also close by. International soccer teams frequent the stadium so there is always a chance to see your favorite national team or club team. The campus is very safe, and the City of Boca Raton is also quite safe with some of the lowest crime rates in the state. The parking could be better, the problem is not that you wont have a spot, its that the spot may not be as close as you would like but it is a short walk. This school really is a hidden gem that is overlooked for universities with bigger names.

lucknire florestal

My school and I came here for a college visit. Upon paying to eat, Zach and Mitch greeted us with an overbearing attitude. I lost my whole appetite because of this.

Jessica Oh!

The university has downgraded in a small time frame. It is over packed, and the education and many of the teachers aren't that good :/. In addition, it is a school that tolerates issues (bible stomping incident, and I'm not christian) that are cross the fine line. I would highly recommend going else where.

mari gutierrez-flores

When I finish high school.. I dream of coming to this amazing school.

Maximillion Devant

Great place to get an education (have earned multiple degrees and certifications here) and work.

J Gallo

The university needs to understand that "stomping on Jesus" can not be tolerated, for too many christians were/are Killed defending Jesus. A writing concerning christians, "I observe them...interrogate them...I ordered them to be executed." This method used by the university executes their soul. It's not about a student or a professor; it's about what's the right thing to do....Peace

Communication at this school is a joke. Departments don't talk to each other, so you get conflicting information and when that information keeps you from enrolling, they do nothing. I tried to enroll in Spring classes after being told I could do orientation online. That was a lie. I've been given the run-around on who to call for advising. Four phone calls later and the -correct- number tells you to go online to set up the appointment. But when you're not enrolled yet, you don't have access to that login, so good luck getting an appointment! The only parking available to non-students (so you can enroll in the school at all) is either metered, 6 miles away from the building you need, or you can get a ticket in a normal spot. The only reason I even want to go to this school is because it's close to my hometown, but honestly I'd rather spend twice as much at a school that actually cares about me.

Brett Hickman

My comments from yesterday are just gone?? I simply stated that there should be a way to rate 100% poor, because at this point "Poor to Fair" is rating this university too high. This University has made its beliefs loud and clear with the way they handled "stomp on Jesus" lesson. They took up the national mantle of religious intolerance that is sweeping this country with a class to teach Religious intolerance. How has it become ok to thrash Christianity and protect all other religious beliefs and ideals? That is not tolerance...you can't be 95% Tolerant...you either are or you are not. One point that's been missed in all this...they got this from a text book!! Who is the author/publisher? Quit apologizing and just admit your beliefs and intentions. Say we realize our beliefs may not be the majority and offended. We were wrong on how we handled a Student who pays to go here. By the way, a Democratic Nation goes by the majority and does not bend for the few...my how this country...this University...has got it twisted. RATING 100% POOR

Sydney Carton

First, they rake you with fees wherever they can. I don't drive to class, didn't own a car some of the time I went, yet they still charge me parking fees. Second, people tell me that you can get grad school paid for with fellowships or assistantships. I was awarded a research assistantship, promised for a whole year. Started it early (in the summer) and it was canceled because I had the audacity to ask for a week off without pay in order to take my youth group to camp. (All I did was ask!) In short, FAU has done their best to screw me over. Then they have the audacity to call and ask for donations while I'm still in school and without a job. They're not getting another dime from me. Go Gators. Eat Owls for lunch.

Steven Eiland

Graduated with a B.S. after speaking with advisors who promised it would apply to the career I was interested in. I should have done more research but I was naive and thought the advisors were there to assist me. No career placement service worth mentioning. If you enroll, know what career you want and do your own research. Don't ever trust a thing the advisors suggest. Still can't get transcripts from them to move to graduate school after requesting five copies.

This university literally employs a professor who claims that the massacre at Sandy Hook, Conn, killed 20 children and 6 adults, never happened.

Zane Sloan

Gulfcoast customs.

I do not know where to being with FAU. All I could say is Find Another University. That's what I eventually had to do. Started in 2012 as a freshmen majoring in Biology. Horrible. Advisors are no help. Most of my professors/TA's were awful. There is no type of fun/entertainment around the university. Just a whole bunch of rich kids who fuxking brag about what they have. Most of the kids who I went to high school with transferred back down to the community college level instead of wanting to deal with FAU. But now I'm at Florida State having a blast! Go Noles! Should have started at FSU in the first place.

Arnold Jerome

Very nice campus

James C

Quiet campus and has many study facilities

Ndouba Zahui

Best school ever. My professors were amazing and concern about me. The stuff are always available

Cayden Kennedy

FAU is an awful, awful place to get an education. I attended UF but had to finish at FAU due to medical reasons. The surrounding area is a nightmare, full of rich snobs and wannabe NASCAR drivers (these groups are rarely mutually exclusive). Material is taught at an incredibly slow pace and students have trouble grasping simple concepts. Unlike the traditional college, you will find homework, nitpicking, busy work, and teachers playing favorites. It's a glorified high school! If you love group work (and by that, I mean working on an entire project by yourself while your teammates get a free ride and the teachers show indifference), you'll fit right in! FAU - Find Another University.

My brother attended here the last four years and had a good experience.

FAU has been amazing for me. I'm a Computer Science student, started on Fall of 2012. I didn't go to high school in the States but FAU has nothing short of amazing in providing a smooth transition to me. FAU has one of the lowest tuition for public universities in Florida, but still provides quality education, along with a great Career Center that assists you with professional career advice, job fairs, and internships/post graduation jobs. The faculty is always glad to help and the school provides free tutoring and supplemental instruction. FAU is located in South Florida so the weather is great all year round! the beach is literally 5 minutes away and the school has high-quality facilities, like a 24/7 study center and computer lab, a state of the art recreational center that has 3 indoor basketball courts and a swimming pool, tons of hangouts places for students where they can hang out (video games, ping pong, billiard). The dorms are on another level: they have been recently renovated and the Innovations Village dorm has apartment style apartments. The Owls play in Conference-USA and has a brand new 30,000 football stadium on campus, that was opened in October 2011. For job placement, Boca Raton has plenty of job opportunities itself. Nonetheless, Miami is only 45 minutes away and Fort Lauderdale, Deerfield ,Coral Springs, and Delray are close by so you don't have to relocate like Gainesville where nothing's around except the school. For Graduate school, FAU offers many graduate degrees, and some are 5-year Bachelors + Masters combined programs, or 7-year PHD programs. Overall, Florida Atlantic is the school to go to! GO OWLS!

Jordan Zimmerman

This school is great but it needs to focus on getting the water fountains up to standards. The water tastes awful and can not help and think about the last time they changed the filters. I see students drink from them and it just kills me inside because they go in to debt going to this school who chooses to ignore their health. Other than that this school is amazing and Broward College is the next best School because of the remodel of North campus Broward. Hopefully FAU can go through a similar remodel.

The DMAN

If you wanna be close to home and need to spend less money, Florida Atlantic University is the school to attend. It may be tough, but it'll prepare you for the future and you'll get more experience there. It's more of a school than Lynn University. You won't get a pat on the back, though the professors and the tutors will guide you to success, but you will have to be aware of what goes on when it comes to academics.

Alex Beck

I am writing this review on behalf of to show my deep and utmost respect for this school that I have graduated from recently. FAU is a fantastic school for what its worth, a place where one can commute daily and get a great education at a competitive cost. As an English major I was taught to see things from all sides of the playing feel at to meet everything with the utmost respect and understanding. I was not here when the most highly publicized event took place, so I can only comment on what I have experience and read from the various articles that give their own view of the situation. It is to my understanding that the teacher himself a Christian man, in an effort to show how symbols operate within a society and how people feel strongly about them would react to a situation that they were offered. One of the students felt so strongly about this lesson that he did not want to participate and that was fine, the only reason he was kicked from the classroom is because he responded in an inappropriate way because he was threatening to hurt the teacher. FAU is by no means a school of ignorance or religious intolerance, I even recall having a student who was Christian and met every debate with her religious ideals and at no point did we as a class insult her beliefs, which at times was very difficult. We have open discussions on campus of people doing protests against abortion, for religion, and etc. I am truly disappointed and ashamed that when even in 2013, a school that I went to can be reviewed by people who have never been or have heard of Florida Atlantic University until recent events. Personally I blame media outlets which seem to write highly biased stories seeking to attract a wider audience by with-holding key information of the things that took place during the event. All I ask is that people try to meet every piece of information with an understanding that it may be wrong and that things are as not always as they seem.

Mohammad irfan

Hopefully, this is my next destination. Have heard a lot of good words. Expecting an interesting journey there..

Brad Sylvain

I have been a student at FAU since 2009, first as an undergraduate student and currently as a graduate student. FAU has been a great opportunity for me to grow in my academical and professional life. I will forever be indebted to FAU and the faculty for the investment they have made in their students. I understand the recent outpouring of concerns from Christians about the actions of one independent teacher. As a Christian man I can assure you that I have never felt that FAU or any instructor that I have taken has portrayed such vial behavior I my presence.

Frank Gant

I have a masters in Intercultural Studies and at no time in my program was I asked to step on anything, let alone the name of God,or any other gods. But, I bet FAU is typical of most all major universities, the others just haven't been noticed yet. The USA is going to hell and liberal universities are leading the way!

Wes H

FAU stands for Find Another University! The faculty and organization are terrible. They simply dont care about the students. Disorganized and extremely frustrating. Do yourself a favor and pass on this college. You'll thank me later.

Bob Bobbert

Ever since day one this school has been giving me nothing but difficulties. When I started out, I asked information where the biology major office was, they sent me to the wrong room. After that the people at that office sent me to another room which in turn sent me to another. When I had to show proof of my Florida residency they gave me a hard time about it too even though I was going to palm beach state college prior to that. A lot of the professors are arrogant and unhelpful, the ones who teach the labs are graduate students, so I'm paying to be taught by a student instead of the professor. The organic lab class I had to take docks you on points if you're a minute late despite difficulty with traffic. I live an hour away from campus and I leave 1:30 minutes before hand. I dropped the class because obviously I didn't want to start off with a bad grade. But now I just wasted two credits because they give you one week from the start of class to drop with a refund. Even though this class didn't start until a week after the refund date. The after school help was a joke I would show up all the time and then find out that no one was there without an email or notice about why. The parking is terrible you probably have better luck finding a parking spot at an outback steakhouse on a Friday night then you would at FAU. Not to mention the city itself is miserable, by the time you wade through Glades road traffic then stalk someone for a parking spot it feels like so much time was wasted. Did I mention I got a parking ticket for a car that wasn't mine? The car had the same exact license plate as a rental I had to use last year because my other car totaled...on the way to Boca HELLton. So I used it for a little while until I got my permanent car and I even registered it for a decal. I deactivated the rental car..or thought I did. Loh and behold someone else rented a car from the same place I did, parked in a metered area, and I get the ticket! Despite the fact that I deactivated it and had my permanent car activated. Another time, I got a ticket because they were turning a student designated parking area into a medical student parking area so I got a parking ticket for parking there even though it was unmarked. I checked it thoroughly too, there were no signs until the day after. There are so many things wrong with this school that I could write a book. But to end this review, choose another school I've had friends go elsewhere that were much happier there. FAU is a sinkhole, I wish I could leave.

Hum Min

Housing office- lazy, heartless people do't want to help people. Just want money and careless about someone situation. Controller. Just charge people without proof or contacting the individual to verify. How do I get charge now for something last August 2016 that I can't recall?

Daphne Clark

It's awesome and lots of fun

Kency Dossous

If you attending Palm beach state is it possible to dorm at fau

Dan B

Nice area.

Awesome atmosphere but we need more parking!

Richard Scottsman

1 of my favorite up and coming universities great football program and great campus Way to go !!!

Michel Seraphin

traffic and parking is terrible, but I have nothing else to complain about. than again this is the only university I have attended.

Daisy Rostan

Go owls

Captain Brathwaite

Its a small school with lots to offer for anyone willing to work hard

Ryan Gartner

For every 1 amazing professor, there are 5 that should not be working with students. I plan on finishing my senior year at FIU for business management. I don't want my diploma from an institution associated with racism, denying the Sandy Hook massacre, stomping on Jesus, campus police shooting a hooker, prison sponsored football, drug dealers getting shot, and violent outbursts in class.

Marie Dela

Be very careful with advising. After attending the school for 2 years and following the course load set by the advisor, I was told I would have to change my major if I wanted to graduate. AFTER 2 YEARS OF FOLLOWING THEIR ADVICE.

imagede zach

If you accidentally click an the wrong answer on their application, they will not even look at it even though you paid the application fee. Even after I explained that I accidentally clicked the wrong choice, they refused to look at my application.

Joshua Robbins

I attend FAU. I am very happy with the appearance and size of the campus, and I like almost everybody who goes here. Unlike the abrasive community that Boca Raton is known for, the internal student body of FAU are primarily commuters from the surrounding area, and many people are extremely nice and helpful. The education is good too, except for the math department (to an extent). The school itself is becoming very reputable, and is finally on par with other state schools. I will say this....I have ZERO school pride. I see these reviews saying "go owls" or "go gators," which show a relative amount of bias. I could care less about the university I go to based on some contest between the school's mascots. I care about the community and the education, and this school has both. The parking can be overlooked, as long as you are quick enough to the campus.

Beckett Farkas

The English department is fantastic. The campus is beautiful. They lose a star due to the food situation.

Danny Meneses

Just cause I attend classes here

saila bala

Huge campus ... Lot of aminities available on campus..

md. mahmodul

it a great for higher study

Godji Fortil

Keeps improving year after year. As an alumni, I'm always proud to say that I'm from FAU.

Kevin Chan

Got my BBA here. Very good, will come again! A+ + + + +

Kaleo Langley

The campus was easy to get to from Orlando. Signs were clear on where to park on arrival. The facilities itself were beautiful. Everyone was very helpful and went out of there way to help with questions. I’m glad my daughter will be attending school here in the fall!

Sigler Jorge

Attended the Executive MBA and I must say that the classes are challenging and the educational component is very useful and up to date. I have applied much of the knowledge obtained and after 6 months of graduating I have obtained a far better position more geared towards what I wanted. The diversity factor is great, with colleagues from all over the world and different professions, increasing interprofessional learning. The only downside to the program is that I would suggest a stronger vetting system since some people in the program should definitely not be there and some even graduated with little to no effort or interest.... It is upsetting since some of them really don't deserve the title and it only brings the credibility of my education down

Mark Kramer

This University is growing at a pace. I work as a local contractor Florida Atlantic University

Jon Vilchez

None of the hand sanitizers are ever filled up, there’s barely enough parking space for the amount of students that attend here, and the constant work done on the campus can be annoying. The food is the same as you’d find in gas stations and fast food places, with the exception of the Burrow. The math courses here have a surprisingly high fail rate, which is concerning. But hey, what do I know, I’m just a student.

Tim Zukas

This school engages in blatant religious persecution. Poole should be fired.

Icy Jjfish

Absolutely terrible, the math department is horrible i had to learn all the material on my own, the teachers are useless and cant even teach. This includes Dr. Hoffman for Calc 2, do yourself a huge favor and omit his class. On the other hand, the business department is okay, its the only good thing about the school in my opinion. Besides that, the schools other programs aren't THAT spectacular but if you are willing to kill yourself for it go right ahead. My concluding factor about this school, If you are a rich kid with no ambition in your life, this is the school for you.

Kevin Piana

I have been here for 2 years now and I love this school. It has many programs and things to get involved with aswell as great professors. Class room sizes for some classes are small which make it easier to learn and interact more with professor.

Amber H

I've been attending this university for two years now and it was the greatest decision of my life. You get what you put into this school, if you want success you will find it here. I've grown academically and socially so much since I started going here, I've learned so much and the diverse environment Is amazing. I love living in Boca, its beautiful and a short drive to deerfield puts you in an even more fun teenage environment for the weekend! You'll see teenagers walking down the street in bathing suits having fun everywhere in deerfield. Not to mention its less than an hour drive to Miami for a weekend trip! It's very close to everything, right across the street from Whole Foods and the mall is very close. Everything you need is on campus, the food is really good and the dorms are very clean. I have gotten so much from this university, I've never had a bad experience and my whole family loves it.Take my word this university has done so much for me, and they are improving so much from what they used to be. The football games are great and there is school pride all over town.

Mounir Bourkiza

A good Public University

Justin Ladenthin

Great campus

Joshua Broadman

They didn’t help parents get there children out to where there parents are safely and and they sent parents out to park their car and come out I’m so pissed at this school they may be good but not great and they could have risk a lot o lives which they probably did.

Desiree D.

If only I could give 0/5 rating, I would. The Tuition and Dorms both are expensive. The Dorms are in terrible condition infested with Ants and other creatures, Leaks, and Mold. The dorms most definitely are not safe to occupy in because of the unsanitary and health-inhibiting Conditions. $3,650 + for a dorm that is making you sick AND that you are sharing (not including the extra $1,600 for a REQUIRED meal plan) is just not worth it. That alone is over $5,000 you'd be paying to a school just to get sick. Be sure to do your research on ALL colleges and other things related for sure! (Such as dorms, books, tuition differential, per credit hour cost, professors, and all extra hidden fees.) The photos below were taken from one of the rooms inside of the four disgusting dormitories on the Boca Raton campus. Despite the school's poor attempt to "fix" the problem, the staff is ungodly and VERY rude; AND I refuse to support a university that one, doesn't care about their paying students, two about their health and/or treatment. When it's all about the money it shows and clearly their not about the red white and blue they're about the green. FAU #FindAnotherUniversity. It's preposterous!

Heather Vega

Horrible experience and it's just my first semester. The teachers are great and the campus overall I love but the staff wasn't helpful at all. My financial advisor was not helpful and in needing services I don't live on campus and live 40 minutes away so I had to use the time I had while I was here for classes to talk to see what was going on with my bill and they kept sending me to different buildings saying it wasn't their responsibility. The staff wouldn't answer their emails when I needed help or they wouldn't answer my questions clearly. Parking permit also didn't come into the mail so I had to pay for meters for a week and they had the permit sitting in their office the whole time and wouldn't reimburse me when I had my receipts. Currently my bill is messed up and I'm transferring to BC and then transferring to FIU after 2 years instead :/ thought it was gonna be a great experience at FAU felt let down and stressed for my first semester. Only 17 and they already have me in debt and did not apply my brigh futures because they said they don't accept gold seal bright futures when that was the only reason I didn't go to BC at first. Communication is poor.

Nicola Galante

Go owl's

Julia Denzel

I love this school, don't wanna come home for summer vacation because I love it here so much. Negative reviews are blown out of proportion for this place. You really do fall in love once you visit. I'm so happy I chose FAU

Lucas Oliveira Silva

I have had a great time here, the teachers are great, the structure is very good and the opportunities are amazing.

Colton Ralston

A tremendous asset to the City of Boca Raton! The football stadium is amazing! This D1 school is making waves around the country!

Alexandra Julien

I love this school and so me go owls

Aaron Lintz

One of the best kept secrets of South Florida is FAU.

Alex Oliveira

Great campus and programs.

Dmitriy Shames

Great school, the campus is lively during the day and decent professors. The worst part has always been parking. Do yourself a favor and get to campus early. FAU is too busy building new dorms instead of more parking lots.

queen lawrence

University life and an education is what you make it. I graduated with two degrees, and in one department (english) I had awesome, above par professors. I made the best of it, and regret nothing.

Audrey D

Pros: Beautiful campus and area Generally, great professors (especially for social studies departments) Wide range of majors Easy (can be a con or a pro, depending on who you are) Cons: Snobby area Easy (often felt bored because lack of challenges and expectations of students) Faculty and administration (particularly academic advisers) Lack of certain courses such as religion and European studies

Bianca Semprit

Amazing campus and professors. The advisors need to work on their demeanor.

Dillon Padgett

Went here for 5 years, studied Computer Science and Spanish. Enjoyed my time at the school. Easy commute by Tri-Rail. Great gym, great cafeteria, and most importantly great education! All of my professors seemed very interested in my success and were willing to spend extra assisting me whenever I needed.

Dana A

Good university, good atmosphere

Josh Wright

Great school!

Erin Murphy

I never attended their school because I was at a different school. They have been harassing me for YEARS for parking fee's!!!! Are you kidding me. My FEDERAL Loans went to another school and your still hounding me for 70 PARKING FEES! That is just embarrassing, is your school so broke?

Jose De La Vega

They only want ur money.. for everything

James Pinard

this university owes me money

Luba B

This is a review of the Prometric Center: Took the CPA here - was a tad complicated to find. Parking is not free, hence the lost star. The staff are very nice though and help you feel less anxious.

danny minimi

Good looking school with no student life and has a lot of potential with no answers

Austin koch

I ♥ FAU

John Kelly

As an incoming student, I was excited for move-in day. Imagine my disappointment when entering the campus to find what could be likened to an armed encampment. Campus security is one thing, militarized police in bullet proof vests, brandishing side arms and tasers, is quite another and quite off putting. I expected to feel welcomed on my first day, not intimidated. When asking for information as where to go and park, it was made very clear to me that they were granting permission, not offering genial assistance. Based on what I witnessed, I wouldn't be shocked if campus police kill a student before the semester is over. Find Another University

Charlie Duffy

What an amazing school! I attened all 4 years there and graduated with a Business degree. I lived on campus for my first 2 years and it was awesssoooome. Had so much fun, loved my dorms, cool roommates, just had a blast! Classes and teachers were great. Campus is cool. I really liked how diverse and open it seemed. All kinds of great places to eat. Honestly, I loved it and I consider it my second home. I attended as an out-of-state student and really found a home at FAU... Academic advisors could be a bit better tho not gonna lie, but all in all...I am proud to call my alma mater FAU.

Of the public schools in South Florida, I would pick FIU over FAU. FAU is more like a secondary high school. Professors are not at the quality they should be and it seems like no one gets paid enough: from advisors, to lab assistants down to the janitors. Not enough people care about making this place a real place of learning. Instructors that don't do research or get tenure are allowed to teach terribly. This is not a real university, should be called Florida Atlantic College. What they need is to hire highly qualified professors with teaching experience that bring in grants for research, thereby increasing the value of the students that graduate and possibly bringing more money to the university. And don't get me started on the parking... let's just say I have to pack a bike to go to class.

Ryan G

For every 1 great professor, there are 5 that should not be working with students. I quit during my senior year with 12 credits left to attend FIU (way better experience) since I don't want a diploma associated with the worst college in America. Google "worst college in America" and see for yourself. Most people associate FAU with campus police that shot a hooker, drug dealers that get shot on campus, professor that stomped on Jesus, and the prison owned football team. Everything at FAU and Boca in general is very expensive so it's not an ideal place for students, unless you come from a wealthy family or you have a trust fund. If you rely on I-95 to commute to class, make sure you leave a few hours early for exams to account for road closures/accidents or you will fail.

I went to FAU. So you're going to get a review here that's both experienced and biased. I value the education I received there, had some pretty fun times, and would definitely recommend it to students choosing universities. Here's the deal: you could spend a ton of money going to an Ivy League school, but despite the prestige a degree from those schools may carry, you'll get exposed to a more realistic and down-to-earth education that actually has the liberty to push some barriers more than some Ivy League schools do. FAU had some awesome professors when I went. The approach to education is no-nonsense, although when I went the book prices were a little silly. I was a commuter student who lived in Boca Raton through my High School years, so I didn't have a great need to tap into the social scene. I was a bouncer at the school bar, the Rathskellar, and we kept the scene low key. There was some drama between the students, between the frats and sorority clubs, but nothing weird or unhealthy or out of the ordinary. Just some normal college stuff. It's got some amazing facilities now, almost worth taking classes to get to take advantage of them, like the library, the gyms, the pools and stadium admission. Plus you might learn something.

FAU is average quality at best. The university lay out seems to have been poorly planned, and they continue to spend money on aesthetic choices rather than useful infrastructure. Campus parking is incapable of handling peak load, and you will often have to walk in the rain between buildings. Sidewalks are uneven in several places making campus non-ADA compliant. Instructors are loose with student finances, requiring expensive physical books be employed in class on top of expensive publisher internet content that comes packaged with the ebook. The use of technology is discouraged in classrooms, with some instructors so paranoid as to prohibit the wearing of watches and use of mechanical pencils.

Don't apply here. The admissions officers are jerks.

I am a current student at FAU. I attend classes at the H.L. Wilkes Honors College in Jupiter, but I have spent substantial time on the Boca campus, and I believe that FAU as a whole offers students a great learning experience. If you are considering applying or attending FAU, please don't let these negative reviews deter you. Sit in on a class or speak to someone who has actually attended the school. The strange media attention FAU has received is simply detracting from what this great institution offers.

Just spoke with a woman from the financial control room, and it was the absolute worst experience of my life. She was unbelievably rude and disrespectfully, and treated me as if I was nothing but an inconvenience for her. At the of the conversation, I thanked her for her time, and her response was to hang up on me while I was doing so. I called back to ask her what her problem was, but another man answered the phone. I told him about my experience with her, and to my surprise I was put on speaker while stating my complaints. It was immature, unprofessional, and disrespectful.

Welcome to Florida Atlantic University.

Ridiculously terrible admission experience. Decided to not attend FAU simply because of the horrid staff I had to deal with. Would give a 0/5 if it was possible.

WORST TREATMENT EVER!!! NEVER GOING BACK!! I drove super far to take a test, i was not able to take it because my second last name didn't show, they were not willing to help and they had a bad attitude, i had to call a bunch of numbers and when the problem was fixed they said that since i was scheduled for the morning i couldn't take it anyways, and this test costed me a lot of money and its only done twice a year. I spoke to the DEAN and he said that this happens a lot with HISPANICS and thats something I should have noticed. I felt they were ALL being racist. No help was received and I couldn't take the test

Beautiful campus despite PARKING. C'mon tuition isn't the cheapest and parking is such a hassle. They need more parking garages. Parking garages are a bit far too especially when you are walking in 100 degree weather. Overall, can't complain though because it is very clean and academically challenging. I would recommend getting your Associates degree before coming here.. GO OWLS!!!!!

I love my university! Did a lot of growing up here and the knowledge I gained from my Professors is invaluable. I'm delighted to see how much FAU has grown!

As a transfer student it was the best life changing decision I have ever made, I'm thrilled for 2017-2018 And staff are all amazing and are football team is #1 I love fau and glad to be a part #goowlssssss

Go Owls...I love my school! I started in the Fall of 2013 as anthropology major. My experience has been beyond excellent. My professors are supportive as well as my advisor. Last year, I told my advisor that I had a plan to take other disciplines besides anthropology, she was ready at our meeting, having anticipated it, with a plan of study at the ready for me. We set out to make it so. On May 1, 2015, I will be graduating with a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies in Social Science with a minor in anthropology, history, and education. My advisor was instrumental in achieving this goal. Thank you FAU!

Nicholas Van Der Meulen

FAU has created a fake online program in the sense that they have merely given online students access to the supplementary materials that students in class use. Everything is clearly outdated due to all assignments referring to Blackboard which is an older online grading system used previously to the one they use now called Canvas. Ultimately, they require the use of external websites which charge additional fees and the computer programs required for the classes such as SPSS and ArcMap do not work and are impossible to use. There is hardly any instruction given to online students and that makes the process of learning extremely frustrating. Not to mention, the lectures for online students are blurry and will not load sometimes despite me using multiple different computers. I am completely finished with FAU and will never take another class with that school ever again for the rest of my life.

Don't bother attending this school if you are an out of state student. BEWARE. The only way to be considered an in-state student is to work full-time for a year. I have been living in Florida and attending the school for two years now. They told me I needed to drop out of school, work full-time, and then reapply for in-state tuition. If you're the kind of person who can juggle all of that, then go for it!

Enrique Mendoza

very very few meter parking spots. No parking at all for visitors. No information regarding the parking rules in any lot. Only one parking authority window in the whole campus. Take precautions. Visit the web site (not at all friendly). If you are going there you will get a ticket even if you think you are properly park. Again go to the web site before going there.

Excellent university, great staff, great dorms, great chance to meet amazing friends, the dining hall staff is awesome, most of my proffessors have been pretty cool, and the scenery on this campus is amazing.

I Really Love this place where they have the S.O.A.R Camp In here. I've stayed In the Dorms and meet friends and even i have a roommate and we bonding each other through friendship and boxing and other things! i really love it! then, I've work out at the recreation center and i Did boxing training with Paul "Rocko" Cecere and i've made Boxing videos with him. Paul's Major is Exercise Science & Health Promotion and His Fitness Philosophy is Exercise is a way to stimulate all aspects of life. Being healthy is achieving balance mentally, physically, and spiritually. Exercise should give satisfaction, make life easier, and give relief from the everyday obstacles that are placed in front of you.

I love that school

Worst school on this whole planet earth. If you plan on going here to have a good time and enjoy college life.... DONT. If you like police harrasing you at 3 in the am while you're sleeping then this ain't for you. This school is for those who don't know how to live a little you'd fit right in with this boring ass campus. Plus don't expect much from Boca there's nothing to do here. Beach gets played out and the clubs are horrible. Go to school somewhere else besides Fau. Not the best decision I made in my life

Eli Rondon

Will get much better in the future, good early start for most of their programs and great location

Steven Taylor

Love the campus. I've been here for my undergrad and now my master's degrees. There isn't as much school spirit as FSU and UF but their campuses look like prisons in comparison.

Ioana C

A very big university with many different fields of study. Being so big the communication between different departments is a little too tough. Nice cafeteria. Overall good school. A little to expensive.

Shay Bickford

I transferred in from a school in CT and at first everything was great. I am now a senior and wish I had gone to a different university. The teachers are ok except for a few that are TERRIBLE and should not be professors here. Every single department does not care about their students, especially parking and transportation!! I've gone through hell and back with them. Moved off campus two weeks early and heard from multiple people different answers about changing my green pass to blue. Still to this day because of the SYSTEM I can't get an off campus sticker causing me to walk the entire campus to get to class. PLUS I have a problem with my knee with an MRI and a doctors note proving it and nothing is being done. The housing department is absolutely rediculous as well. ONCE YOU SIGN A CONTRACT A YEAR IN ADVANCE THEY DONT LET YOU OUT OF IT!!! I told the lady I was going to be homeless during summer if I don't move into this place for the summer which will then continue for my lass semester and she was so heartless and didn't even care! All this university cares about is how much MONEY they can steal from every single one of their students. The amount of stress this university has caused me is through the roof and I am VERY dissapointed.

I attended FAU back in 2006. Parking was horrible back then and I still hear it is horrible today. Great film professors, specifically Robe (he was awesome, and according to the site he is still there). The school is very commuter oriented, but it's nice on the weekends if you live on campus, I personally liked when things were a little calmer. It did kind of feel like an extension of high school--kind of like going into grade 13, if there was one. Social life was great--plenty of college aged bars. Beach is super close. Overall it was an okay experience--I am curious to know how the school is now in 2012. Oh and from what I remember the faculty was great, in all areas.

Nobody has ever had so much love and hatred for this place. It is wonderful and hideous at once. And it destroyed my spirit completely, twice. To be blunt, however, higher education everywhere is quite sick. If you're undertaking it, you must stay focused on your goals and abandon your expectations.

Eleanys Rubi

The testing facility has the worst staff in the world. I was speaking spanish and instantly they were treating me different. They all had a bad attitude and would not help me solve a problem that was easily fixable because the staff downstairs in registration helped me out. They are all racist and they are white supremacists.
