Could not ask for a better location! The campus is large enough that you can always meet someone new and small enough that by the end of your studies you feel like your part of a community. Not really a "party" school, but great base of operations for all the outdoor enthusiasts!

Fantastic place where the professors actually care about their students. The class sizes are small and you will learn a lot. The students are all very friendly and it is easy to find somewhere to fit in.

I have gained a great experience and all professors are extremely helpful and supportive:)

Just knowing that this school wants to ban veterans is appalling. The entire faculty should be ashamed of this. Our vets have given everything for you people to have the "safe space" we call America. If anyone should be banned it's the transgender people for disrupting our vets from learning! Sounds stupid right??? So does what UCCS had to say about veterans.

Absolutely gorgeous campus, caring and down to earth professors that had everything I was looking for. Living on campus is an incredible experience and everyone has been so friendly and helpful

Enrolling in a school shouldn't be more difficult than obtaining an actual degree. No one in their office answers their phones. They instead prefer to send them straight to voicemail. I am transferring from another school and after applying and getting accepted to 13 different colleges i should have picked any of the other 12. The low cost of tuition definitely reflects the service they provide.

Matt Sidor

Great school; small class sizes.

If you're 18 and loaded, probably the place for you. If you're an adult learner with children and a full time job then I would look elsewhere.

Some teachers are awesome and other teachers are horrible that don’t want to help you. Overall, students are also rude and for some reason believe they are better than everyone else. Oh and the staff is horrible and unprofessional. Not to mention that they charged me two payments in one month when I specifically asked when signing up for payments if they were going to charge me twice and they said no which REALLY messed up my methods of organizing my bills. When I asked about it they took forever to answer me and haven’t gotten back to me on refunding it as promised. Hate it. Never going back and never should have gone there. Sure the campus is beautiful but the quality of the classes, experience and overall school is definitely not worth what they charge. Parking is rediculous too.

Lori Kunz

I am an alumni and am continuously impressed by the beautification process of this school. I was a communications major and the staff was phenomenal. I never had any issues with this University or its staff. Highly recommended!

Cindy Wright

Shameful that they allow their professors to use extremely biased materials representing only one side of the political spectrum as required reading. This is not education, it is indoctrination.

I wonder when UCCS will turn out the construction floodlights? I live a 1/4 mile away, love to look at the hevens, and their floodlights have polluted the night all night long, for many many months. A very poor neighbor! Allen Cable

The UCCS provides a good experience for exchange students. The college of engineering and applied science and the college of business are notable. I could experience a great academic year last year.

To everyone saying the school is trying to ban vets: that was a satirical group OUTSIDE of UCCS that had wrote the flyer. Nobody on campus liked seeing it, and they were all torn down within an hour. ...Parking does suck though, that part is true.

With a few exceptions, the teachers and especially the staff see the students as just a number. If you plan on entering the corporate world, this is your college if you care about the people you will do business with Western State Colorado University is 100 x better.

SJW newsletters calling for the ban of white people and veterans show how educated the students are. There should be repercussions for things like that.

UCCS has steadily grown in popularity. Colorado seems to be making quiteva large investment in this institution. New medical school and a new building for the business school among many other new facilities. A nice atmosphere on campus, too.

I've attended this university, CU-Boulder and Boston U. UCCS has, by far, the most supportive staff, responsive faculty and least pretensions. The campus looks and feels new. Engineering and sciences are strong, students are responsible and mellow - many work part or full-time off campus. Low (in-state) tuition.

Love the School! They only get 3 stars because the employees in the financial aid office are highly incompetent and have lost numerous documents I have sent in *via email!!!*

I've been going here for 3 years now. I've had great professors, and I've enjoyed the classes very much. I just wish that they wouldn't advertise having classes when there isn't faculty to teach them. Otherwise, the campus is beautiful, and you get a great education for the price you pay.

Dustyn Adams

I would avoid this university, I've had issues with tuition and the class selection is very pathetic for the student body size, you have to be quick/lucky to get into classes you actually need and hope they can fit into a reasonable schedule.

This school has changed my life in some really great ways. I have had some amazing professors and I have gotten into some wonderful programs. Through my involvement on campus I have gotten access to some great connections throughout the community. It's a great place to go for a school, a great place to work, and a great place to spend some amazing college years! I highly recommend this school! I have gained so many resources and experiences through this school and I highly recommend it for anyone!

Katy Hartshorn

I am proud to have been part of the UCCS community for almost 20 years. The staff and faculty have a genuine desire to see students succeed. UCCS has been (and will continue to be) a driving force in the economic prosperity of this city. #PROUDMOUNTAINLION

Great school. The people in housing here are terrible though. They force residents to sign a predatory contract. Some of the employees are also rude. Housing staff does not care about it's resident or the issues that they face. In particular Molly Kinne does not respond to emails in a professional manner or account for the concerns of students. The entire process to terminate contracts is marred by conflicts of interest. The parking here is also ridiculous. There is nowhere to park. The parking people actually try to raise revenue for the school through parking tickets. The library also isn't open for enough hours. The library often closes as early as 9pm for a university this is ridiculous.

UCCS is full of professors who actually care about their students. I have gained so much experience just in the two years I have been here. Sure every school has certain things that others don't like but it in no way makes this a terrible school. I am even an out of state student making tuition rates very high but you know that's not UCCS exclusive. Every time I have needed to contact someone in finical aid or housing they have always been polite and got back to me in a timely manner. Highly recommend this school!

If you call them and the find out your a veteran they send you to a recorded message from the communicactions department! From an Army veteran!

UCCS is a great school and best bang for your buck. Campus is nice and will continue to improve as construction finishes up. While the Freshmen and Sophomore classes are sometimes pretty large (usually the Science classes for me, others were pretty small), your Junior and Senior level classes are extremely small which allows you to connect with not only the instructors but students as well, which is often a problem in large classes. Graduating in May and do not regret my decision to come here. A few tips of advise: - Parking does SUCK, it may improve next year with the new parking garage. Either live on campus, come early, or park in the parking lot away from the campus and get a shuttle, no other way around it until they figure out a long term solution. - Pay attention to your student portal when it comes to Financial Aid. Sometimes things may come up out of the blue without your knowledge. Also, it is best to talk to an ACTUAL staff member at Financial Aid. No offense to the student employees, they sometimes do not know what they are talking about and just assume things which can sometimes cause problems, do yourself a favor and talk to an actual staff member to get the best information or solution regarding a problem. - Finally, if you do stay on campus, Summit Village, the Freshmen dorms, seems to be very active given the impression I have seen from it. On the other hand, Alpine Village is not very active in the social aspect. Hope you have good roommates and you should be set for the year, otherwise get involved with something because Alpine Village is like an actual apartment community, little to no interaction with one another.

Literally I know a cardboard box that is a better excuse for a university than this school. Be prepared to be nickled and dimed to death and to be treated like a number and just remember that this is an institution and you do not matter one bit to them and they will make sure you know that.

Jubilator 87

I would give them 0 stars if I could. The financial aid department is mostly run by incompetent simpletons and dishonest morons who don't try to correct their mistakes nor make good on promises they make, especially when they retract said promises. They also like to garnish state returns even after Nelnet has taken over the student loans. I understand that CU Boulder has a nice lavish buffalo shaped pool but is my $336 really going to help you compete with that? DO NOT GO TO UCCS! They may be a state run university. But the frustration you will have to deal with at the incompetency of their Financial aid department as well as the lofty ambition they aspire towards feels very much like the predatory practices of a lesser university. Get your degree somewhere that won't take your money and laugh in your face when the mistake is on them. This is by far the worst experience in education I have ever had to deal with.

Anna Rozsa

I majored in History and got mostly A's. I majored in History to get my teaching credential. The history courses were great for the most part and I just loved the professors, but the Teacher Education Licensure Program was really bad for the student teaching part of it. There are numerous complicated assignments that don't help you in the real world of teaching. I learned more from my son's fifth grade teacher just volunteering in her class in a month than I learned the whole semester at the stupid Montessori school they sent me to. It doesn't even make sense what happened to me and it is a long story, but I just want to warn people that it really sucks, and that is putting it gently since I am Christian and shouldn't cuss. LOL

Even if you have a parking pass, you'll get at least 2 parking tickets. Only 2 out of the 6 they gave me I was actually guilty of. The appeal process is a waste of time and is an attempt to discourage disputes. Basically you gave to appeal within 2 weeks, you gave to deliver a form in person before the appeal, then you have a 5 minute slot out of a 2 hour window on Friday (everyone's busiest day) and they can override your given time at any time without telling you (essentially forcing you to withdrawal). The faculty at PS are usually but they about something, Ryan usually has some sort of unnecessary rebuttal or won't even acknowledge you, Jim Spice, well he's paid to pressure you into paying so it's not really his fault. One time I waited in my car so I could catch them giving out tickets (since they no it's impossible to contest the ticket) and at 22 minutes on my timer, they tried to give me a ticket. I was like (in my head) "No way, you keep it." And drove off. Other cons about the school: -parking services is about it.

Very proud to have earned a BA, MPA and also commissioned through ROTC (Separated Service Honorably). It is not a degree factory as some of the "Everest" colleges. UCCS is the real thing, I have NEVER regretted completing my education there. I don't recognize the campus after the growth. The Chancellor was a professor of mine. Sorry Dr. Pam, but very elated to see the curriculum and culture remain stable. The Campus Security Officer who was slain is one of hundreds of dedicated Staff and support. UCCS is a gem that is really staring to shine!

UCCS is an incredible and growing school that should be taken much more seriously than it is. With growing programs in all spheres of knowledge, this place is a great place to learn and start a career. Life changing teachers and wonderful knowledge.

Amazing faculty!!! Awesome school!!!

Caleb

parking has gotten worse over the years rather than better. Instead of a new arts center they should have made a better parking garage. Beatuful campus with a mixed bag of great and horrible teachers. *Update* Still have not fixed parking. Just build underground parking garages where the current lots are.

Sam Johnson

Remarkably unhelpful staff, a nightmare to park at, and the school's apparent fetish for fees borders on criminal. Don't even consider this place if you work full time, nearly every professor has an attendance policy permitting maybe 2 absences per semester. But, you think, maybe I'll learn something worthwhile if I go to class. Nope! Most of my time there was busywork, or teaching myself the material because to professors couldn't be bothered to. Seriously, there are so many better schools around, don't bother with this place.

sydney larkins

WORST SCHOOL EVER!!!! If you are a transfer student i wouldn't go here. They are extremely unhelpful. I am an Army Spouse and am always moving, so i have been to many school. This school is the only one i have had trouble with. I don't with this much struggle upon anyone.

This is a fantastic school with a fantastic physics lab. Curriculum (for undergrad physics) is what you would get anywhere; Arfken, Griffiths, etc. Some top notch teachers and the campus is gorgeous.

I had a really good experience at UCCS getting my BSME. Many of the engineering professors are excellent teachers and also have had real world experience that is valuable for students to hear about. The class sizes in engineering classes were pretty small and you almost always have good access to your teachers to ask questions and make sure you can absorb the material. The tuition was pretty reasonable when I was in school there up until 2012, but I understand it has been increasing rapidly. On the down side this schools wants to deny that it is a commuter school and therefore does not making parking ease a priority, which is a big negative when you have to deal with it every single day, sometimes multiple times a day. The passes are expensive, you aren't guaranteed a spot, traffic is a mad dash for the last remaining far away spots. UCCS should really invest more in large parking structures. It also seems like they might be putting too much money and effort into odd, not very helpful activities and services when they should be focusing more on quality of education and ease of access for their students.

Great University. One of the best business program in Colorado. I Commute daily from Denver. Started college at CU boulder, UCD and DU. However, UCCS has my commitment! Great supporting staffs, professional with great qualification and many years of experience. The professors are passionate about teaching students ( NOT ADJUNCTS like other schools ) . I love my field of Finance and can not wait to finish. On top of everything. Great view, smaller size school which is better for teacher-student ratio, and great quality education with serious minded students from the military town. Thanks.

This is a horrible University where you will receive a second rate education in most fields. Moreover, the school has more of a vested interest in perpetuating a lily white, mainstream view of the world than actually teaching you something. Professors spend an inordinate amount of time teaching a euro-centric perspective of the world, while retaliating against people of color who do not pander their "colorblind," white supremacist politics. That being said, if you are self-hating negro-pean you will fit right in. But, when you see kids on campus wearing blackface for a school event or holiday party, don't say you weren't warned.

KaziSums zubair

The UCCS is underrated. This university is academy oriented. Its engineering section is notable and Electrical Engineering dept. is by far the most active in research fields. Scenic beauty is stunning. Staffs are cooperative too. One con is- if high altitude doesn't go with you, you should think again before coming here.
