I have been an online student for 2.5 years mostly in the graduate program. This organization is flat so no one is overseeing the professors there, they do pretty much whatever they want. They even say so in their lectures. Very snobbish. Online classes are very chaotic. Every single online class I took has errors in the documents, schedules are not updated on the first day of class, the book information is not posted ahead of time so you pay expedited shipping to get it asap, and some of the teaching assistants (for the undergrad classes) have only undergrad degrees. The sad thing is that the tuition for the graduate coursework is almost $3000 per course. To have all these organizational problems in my opinion is not acceptable when you charge this kind of money. Proctoring service changed again. Now you have to find your own proctor and they give you only one day to take an exam - no flexibility neither for the proctor nor for online students who are working. Other than the fact that this is an accredited university (it is a public one), if you are looking for security, there is nothing else there that would be attractive. Online classes are pretty much a nightmare over there from the organizational perspective.

I have had one of the worst college experiences at this school. It is one of the most unorganized campuses run by students and almost no professional workers. It is almost impossible to speak to any advisors or professional staff without having to wait at least 2 weeks for an appointment. In addition you truly are no more than a number to the faculty. They literally couldn't care less about you as an individual and even less about your success. When I notified my advisor that I would be transferring schools she acknowledged the fact and proceeded with our meeting as if she was being bothered by my presence and did not even ask why I was thinking of transferring. Contrary to what you may hear social life on campus is anything but good. On the weekends it is very common for the campus to have a ghost like feel because everyone leaves to partake in events elsewhere. Why would anybody want to be on campus when you are penalized for everything that you do. Due to the size of the campus it is very difficult to have any genuine relationships with others because due to the large size of the university it is unlikely that you will see the same people regularly. Food options are very limited to only fast food joints without any healthy options available. There is no personal feeling at this school and I cannot stress the fact that you are just a number here. I would strongly advise anyone thinking of attending this school to reconsider and think about attending somewhere that you actually matter and will be given the proper college experience.

This campus is big. A little too big if you ask me. But darn is it a good campus. It pretty got everything you can think of. I mean, there FOUR Starbucks here! Four of them! That's how big this campus is.

Xavier Serrano

i dont even go to this school but it looks cool ;D

To the most recent poster, I completely agree that this school is only out for monetary gain. I have had similiar experiences as a graduate student in the school of engineering.

ASU is not only a 5 star AZ STATE UNIVERSITY, but also, a #1 in everything but 420 all day everyday! Opps, did I just say that? Happy Easter everyone and remember here at ASU Graduate Studies - we love you all. GO SUN DEVILS....!!!

This should be an education standard and excellent value in many areas but like many large universities these days ASU is plagued with openly allowing fraud and corruption via C-Engage and other homework software. Not only are the software manufacturers allowed to easily bribe the Provost thru grants and force students to pay unnecessary fees just to do homework but also they provide a false negative in the classroom by destining students to fail with a created grading base to measure against. So when the Provost moves forward with the new system, it appears they can "prove" that classes improved thru the corrupt implemented software students also had to pay for separately on top of tuition. This is a disgusting practice and personally proves my own thoughts that universities like these are dying out as the new generations realize they are better learning on their own.

Marina

Definitely there is a difference between the universities on the East Cost and West Cost.

Andrew Holmes

Currently a Senior Graduating in the Spring in Mechanical Engineering. ASU is a decent state school that has many opportunities. On that same note ASU is also a behemoth when it comes to the sheer amount of people that attend the university. Because of this you are just a number on a page. To learn what you need you must put the effort into getting that education. That means doing your own research about what you need to be successful in your field. That means going beyond what your teachers tell you to do. As far as the social aspects of ASU there is always something to do for all types of people. They always have events and the city of Tempe has many venues and places to go.

Timmy Luo

The campus looks good! Not too hot inside the campus! Staffs and students are welcoming. Also, it is safe at night! Just a little noise from the traffic!

I gained so much from my education here, & provided a strong foundation that helped me excel in my career. Also met great friends here. Lovely campus outside summer months, & still enjoy walking around.

It feels a little weird to review a university but here I go! I have a lot of respect for the institutions academics. They provide a lot to allow their students to discover their passions and to succeed. I only enrolled in one class but really enjoyed it. However, dealing with the administration can be a major hassle!

I work and go to school at ASU the Tempe campus during peak hours is very stressful there's an insane amount of people and your chances of getting hit by some on a bike, skateboard, scooter etc are much higher than they should be. It's a good university but it's just such a big school

Fahd Saeed

Very bad experience with their School of Business. Rip off.

Joseph Kerski

I taught for several days at the Arizona State University… In the school of business and in their geographical sciences program. Geographic information systems. The students and faculty are top notch and the facility is beautiful. These photos were taken in February.

Matt Stryker

This school is all about taking money until there is nothing left in your bank account. The advisors here are the most rude, condescending, ignorant people you will ever have to deal with in life. Even the students are mean but, how can you blame them when the staff at ASU are supercilious jerks. The food isn't that great either because when I was waiting in line for subway everyone was looking at their phones when they should have been looking at what the subway employees were doing. How those employees received a food handler's card is miracle all on its own. There is no quiet place to study and very little financial help with the cost of school. I applied to both ASU and U of A. Uof A's advisors treated me with kindness, courtesy, and the utmost respect. Also I was only eligible to apply for one scholarship at ASU. However, at U of A I was able to apply for at least 80 scholarships. U of A even tries to keep its students up to date on which scholarships are available and the deadlines. U of A also has its own website based on receiving scholarships and financial aid. I think that there's a valid reason why ASU has the sun devil as a mascot. One it's hot as hell, you'll feel like you're in hell, and even some of the professors on rate my professor are described as spawns of Satan. (Ridiculous Right!)

Erica Ann Kurz

I know what you're thinking and you're right. How could such a prestigious place leave you feeling utterly disappointed? The campus lacks passion and camaraderie. There are few signs of it being the elite environment you've envisioned. Don't fret. 109 miles south, you'll find the place you were expecting; The University of Arizona. #beardown #wildcatcountry

Don Quach

Incredibly fun school with great people! Tuition seems fairly expensive but there's plenty of scholarships around.

Derric Rushlow

Real community feel with everything a college student could hope for .. all in the beauty of the Arizona landscape.

Vinny Vin

Great place for a field trip or to spend some time. Many things to see and wonder. Art throughout the campus from architecture to free standing masterpieces. Same thing in my opinion. I could spend years here exploring throughout the area within and without. Guess I'll just keep going without. Enjoy the pictures and go there in person, your gonna love it. ✌☝️N

I can't recommend this school to anyone who has other options. Their services are subpar for the money. They screwed up my financial aid last semester because they forgot to put a hold on my account for a mistake I made on my FAFSA. I started classes without knowing that anything was wrong. A couple weeks go by and I notice that my financial aid hasn't came through yet. I went to student services and they said that there was a problem with my FAFSA form and that I needed to contact the FAFSA directly. I called them and they said that the problem is with ASU and that i needed to contact them. This back and forth went on for awhile with no one being able to tell me what was wrong. Finally, I went back to ASU and talked to someone different who told me that ASU never put the hold on so that's why it never came through. It was then that they informed me that I would be paying out-of-state tuition because of the discrepancy on my FAFSA even though by every standard I was an AZ resident. I had one day left to gather all the documents I needed to appeal my case. Because I had no way of paying my outstanding balance they put me on their payment plan which billed me in two installments of roughly $6500. I lived in fear the entire semester and spoke with anyone who would listen (including the dean) to see if anyone could help me. No one could expedite my appeal. Finally at the end of the semester my appeal was approved and my financial aid came through. Despite all this I still pulled off a 3.67 GPA. I thought my troubles were behind me and I could finally just focus on my education, but as it turns out most of the classes at West campus (my home campus) had alread filled up for the following semester so I had to take on classes at Tempe. Every day of the week I travel between West and Tempe. The second day on Tempe campus I forgot my wallet, after driving about 50 minutes, so I couldn't go back and get it. I got fined $100 for failure to pay my fee because, if I'm being honest, I got three or four parking citations the previous semester; but with my part-time job and a little help from my dad I paid off all my fines. I tried to appeal my case but was denied. The very next day I had only one class in Tempe and I made sure I had my money and I paid for one hour of parking at 7:20am. After my class I went to the bathroom without thinking and walked back to my car. When I got there, a meter-maid had just finished booting my car and was writing me a citation. I explained that I had paid but he said I didn't. I showed him the proof and he told me I still had to call parking and pay my balance immediately to have the boots removed. My next class was in a little over an hour all the way back at West. I called and tried to dispute the citation but I was denied because the citation was written at 8:35am. I was 15 minutes late getting back to my car. So what I should've done was pay for 2 hours instead of one because I needed an extra 15 minutes that I didn't even know I needed. I was going to buy a parking permit that same day but now I can't afford it. They don't work with their students at ASU. The teachers are fine but all other services are terrible based on my experience. This has been a nightmare. I've never experienced such poor service in my entire life.

I had one of the best times in this campus for 2 years during My Masters. The University possess some of the world's best professors, labs and facilities. It is a huge campus in the heart of Tempe. The campus has 2 big libraries with high tech facilities and resources, it boasts of a fitness center and a play ground. The campus has many schools teaching Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Arts, Law, Management, Arts and others. There is a rich cultural diversity overall in ASU with one or the other event happening at the Memorial Union(Heart of the campus) everyday. There are 100's of associations and strong student organizations to assist your growth not just in studies but to help you enrich your other talents. No wonder ASU is a the best Public university and Best University for International students in USA! Of course!!! Its the Most Innovative School in USA :)

Tom Blessie

Top notch University. Love the campus too.

Terri Taylor

If the political science professors at ASU (Arizona State University) had only known, That their fellow professors including George Watson don't like romantic partners grown, No, they lust for males/females 12 years of age and under, And force them to call them "boyfriend" and "girlfriend" while their genitalia they plunder, The professors whose proclivities are not the same, And who catch on and later are employed by the Osborn Maledon firm, May have avoided being threatened, blackmailed, smeared, disabled, and worse, As the pedophiles running the academic show there are otherwise known as "THE ASU CURSE"!

Jennie Castillo

I was so pumped up with energy, the sights, the sounds, the sheer magnitude of the university, I'm seriously encouraging my 21 year old to attend school here. I know it would an experience of a lifetime. Student housing is a plenty, and all their needs are at hand, surrounding campus scenery is breathtaking, a rolling campus golf course, Salt River runs along the campus. Tempe town is a friendly, vibrant and happening locale. Amazing.

Brennan David

Very nice stadium and surrounding area.

Nashley Tindall

Some of the laziest people ever. First off I sent in my transcripts in July I was told that they would be evealuated by a person. This never happened rather they were evaluated by a computer. Next when it comes to fix the problem, all the blaim is place on me that I have to get this and that to prove a course. That is why I sent transcripts. Irma is flat out lazy as well as the ao called success coach. It is not my job to get a syllabus or prove courses that the evaluator was supposed to evaluate and never did. Her an the "success coach" know there is a problem they do not care and they are doing NOTHING to fix it, rather placing all blaim on me. 4 people know about this, its been a week long problem and it STILL is not fixed. I regret ever transfering in, these people are worse then the schook I came from.

Travis Hookham

Truly an amazing campus. Their programs are innovative. Their students are diverse. The campus is large. A great university in Arizona.

A. Bruce Usher

Fitness Center they have racquetball basketball weights, a great place to stay in shape..

feher Hussein

They require me to send my high school transcript even though i have an AA degree, the lost the first copy i sent and now they wants me to send another one. i hope there is less one star so i can rate them with it.

Ryan Romine

Lots of good memories made here.

Jamie Lynn Grom

What a waste of time & space. They are welcome for my time & my money. Someone pays for their salaries. Me. And the worst dealing with the professors egos on top of it. Forget it. Pass on this.

RJ Croth

I am disappointed in this university. I transferred to ASU online to reintegrate after the military. I told the admissions counselor I planned to pursue an MSW. They said that the BA CASP program was their equivalent. They were not forthright in saying that it was non-accredited and that I would have to repeat courses in their MSW program. Same text books. Same course videos. Same assignments but with higher word count requirements. Was such a waste of time and resources. It is a principle of social workers to help clients make informed decisions yet I was misled into thinking my BA would count towards my educational goals. Had I been told that I would have to miss out on more family time for repeat information or that it would be difficult to transfer to a local university because instructors felt uncomfortable writing recommendations for any other school since they hadn't met me in person, I would not have attended here. When I expressed my concerns, staff was condescending and ended saying that they would forward my message...to whom and for what outcome?

Kelly Ziemann

can't wait for one of my kids to attend college here

Trevor Nash

I should have stayed at my old university. This college is too big for itself. Professors are overloaded, and barely have any help with my course.

Brian H

ASU sucks, to be honest. They are greedy and only care about money. The university will never grant anyone residency if they move from another state. The only part I enjoyed was the partying on Mill Avenue. Besides that, ASU is a terrible university.

Tara Iffland

Many traffic issues

For international students. If you wanted to pay a 4 times higher tuition than local students in order to get discriminated by everyone in your 4 years of college life, go to this school.

McKenzie Wilkins

I’m actually having a really hard time at ASU. For starters, I’ve found it super difficult to make friends. It’s hard to stay motivated when I don’t have any meaningful connections with anyone. Even if I’m outgoing & try to join a club or whatever, people are just “too cool” to be friendly or make plans to hang out. Idk. It’s weird. Cold shoulders, everywhere. The professors I’ve had are pretty genuine & kind & helpful if you ask, but they’re super busy - only like one hour a week they can meet with you when you’re struggling with their class. And these classes are HARD. Way harder than I’d expected. I’ve been to other colleges that are challenging, sure, but the assignments here are SO exhausting & confusing. There isn’t tutoring available anywhere on campus for these classes- I’ve checked, more than once. I feel very overwhelmed & lonely here, despite much effort I’ve made to be proactive about those obstacles. I’ve thought about dropping out several times... However... the positives: 1 it’s affordable. There are LOTS of scholarships, you have to dig for them & make the effort to apply. But they’re there. 2 it’s a gorgeous environment, beautiful campus. 3 there’s opportunity & growth that happens here- I can see it all around me. Maybe eventually I’ll feel like I’m actually a valuable *part* of this place. Idk

Alex B

Great place. I graduated from here. Now I'm super innocative and stuff.

Tod Standing

Best decision I ever made was to study-abroad. The natives don't have any manners, they grabbed me a lot. I helped them learn sign language to grow their economy. Also, ADA compliance too ha! Two birds with one stone. Or as they would say "one with a bush is better than two with no bush"

Joel G

Great set up, the lounge is large and always packed with a easy to see stage. The line to get it in was long but the wait less then 10minutes. I had a great time, in fact I'm still laughing a Damian Wayne who is one of the funniest diabetics doing stand up comedy let alone a comedian I grew up watching on In Living Color. Thanks Improv, I will make it a point to get my laughs at one of the best places in the city.

Parisa Khalili Arabi

You have to pay for parking even though if you are a visitor! I made an appointment with advising but the only address that was in website was the ASU tempe campus so I had to ask people how to find the place! Overall, it’s just an overrated school

Matthew Berkes

The time I've spent on campus has changed my life in a positive way.

Fleece Jones

Greedy, sleazy, and not valuable. Spend more money for a better name and better service. Lazy, incompetent workers who don't really care about you, just your money. They are always looking to take more of students money

Tyeron Cannon

I really like Arizona state university I always wanted to go there

Kaushal Mhalgi

This is a great university with spacious campus. Quite hot in summers but has good cooling facilities in buildings and buses.

Leah Cooper

Probably the most transfer student unfriendly university I've ever considered. My husband is active duty military so we move around a lot. I am trying to finish up my degree despite the frequent moves, but ASU rejected almost all of my biology courses and a handful of my general eds. In reality, I should have about 1 year left to my degree and ASU wants me to take 2+ years. To make it worse, my advising appointment with the academic advisor was incredibly rushed and she kept reminding me that I could ask questions any time during the phone call but also repeatedly reminded me we were running out of time. It's all about the money - don't go here if you can help it.

Army National Guard Marketing & Advertising

Great place for the Arizona National Guard State Muster! ASU provides AZ Guard Soldiers with great support and has a top tier Army ROTC program! Great student body and staff that welcomes our Tempe Recruiters on campus!

A G

Very good law school with great admissions staff who actually answer your questions ACCURATELY and keep you informed of everything.

Ryan Glick

Beautiful campus -- we went for a run around campus after dark -- the weather was perfect and there was plenty of mileage!

John Davis

Small college feel with the resources of a large university. A top 100 global university with highly ranked programs, yet also feels down-to-earth.

Erika Wine

Party School. Waste of time and money.

Richard Peterson

You don't have to come here. someone will come here, Don't come to this college unless you've been a strait A student in high school in AZ from freshmen to senior all 4 years.

Todd Richardson

The new remodel looks great! Always a great time at ASU stadium unfortunately my Utes didn't Prevail this time.

Such a neat experience.

The standards in this country are so low. Majority of our education system is filler. Save your money do your own research buy your own books. Learn things that benefit yourself and don't support big business.

Noah Oropeza

Great Business School! Graduated in 2015 and set me up for Life.

James Hales

I love going here because I'm reminded about how I'm not a student anymore and no longer have homework.

Jackson Chubb

This is where I will be going for my college choice. This place is huge! If you think the campus ends, it doesnt. There are so many restaurants and Free Transportation options. This is just 1 or 4 ASU campuses. Highly reccomend a tour, or even a good place for University seekers. They are the number One leader of Innovation above Standford (#2) and MIT (#3). Super clean, and everyone is happy to meet you!

Sandy A nation under God

My GPA is 3.9 yet I received $O additional financial aid such as scholarships or waivers. Avoid this institution if your education isnt sponsored by the military. My military friends do received some scholarships. ASU thank you for the $3000 debt for only 8 credits.. I will add evidence later.

Anna Phillips Photography

ASU is one of my favorite locations for my shoots! It has so many interesting spots.

Joe Ivone

Great restaurant on the second floor of the memorial union named "Engrained". Fresh ingredients and unique recipes make for a most delicious meal!

Dhayanesh Velusamy

The campus is huge and has several schools offering top programs in the country. You have a bit of everything this campus, mill avenue is close by and also the Tempe lake. There gym facilities are top notch.

Joseph

I need to go here for PhD the experience looks nice from the tour

Christopher Wilcox

PROS: Businesses in Phoenix recruit WP Carey grads. I have also heard positive things about Ira Fulton(Engineering). Good school spirit. People from around the country and around the world. solid bike infrastructure and somewhat solar powered campus. Landscaping is beautiful but uses too much water IMO CONS: avoid any majors with lengthy names. the university runs some kind of tax evasion scheme with their land agreements. eating on campus is come kind of aramark only agreement.

Mary Raphael George

Some beautiful landscaping, lots of skateboarding and bikers. The space museum was cool and free and good for a pop in and out. The bookstore had some cool stuff. Some students we met were pretty friendly. Very hot even in early April. Can't imagine in the summer!!!!

Alan Richardson

Great if you are not really interested in producing a real film or movie product. Attending this university as a film student could be a waste of time and money. My advice would be to check out Scottsdale Community College first.Scottsdale offers more variety and more choices to anyone interested in any aspect of the film community.

Great school, if you want to study. Great school, if you want to party! Facilities are top notch, and void of snow. Recommended

The tour guides did an excellent job showing us the Fulton engineering buildings and Tooker house dorm. They answered all our questions and provided us with enough information to help with our decision making on colleges for our son to attend.

Aaron Maria John

Nice place

Corey Burton

It is the new American university! Thank you president Crowe! I am forever a Sun Devil. Blessings from me and my family. Thanks for always being #1 #godevils

Chase Gielda

Professors Genuinely CARE. The leadership at ASU sort of pushes the faculty to be receptive to all student interests so that helps. Overall integrity of the school and staff is fairly high. I recommend coming here if you are ambitious and looking to network your way to achieving your highest ambitious. Very few people will shut you down, its a very lively campus and students and staff alike generally are down to help you out.

Nick Giammarino

I went for 3 semesters and then dropped out, it was because of a medical reason but I did enjoy my time there. I do think it was pretty expensive at the time and that was back in 2005 to 2006. I think that some of the degrees that people are taking now are not going to help them when they get out. Rather than majoring in feminist studies, maybe women can just become Housewives like my wife is. She doesn't have to work and she is fine with it. There's nothing wrong with a woman who doesn't work.

Roger Bourland IV

Awesome school! Go Devils!

Vijay pentapati

Not a party school anymore

I haven't even met my roommate and I still rated it a 5 star. You should too.

Best decision I ever made was going to ASU. Graduated in 08 and my life took off from there. Will always be grateful and love this university.

Rachel Jean

I love being able to say I go to Arizona State University!

Kevin Brown

This Sun Devil MBA alum is very happy with the education I received here. The campus is in a constant state of updating, it's amazing how much everything has changed even in a short period of time. Fork 'em!

James Taysom

This is a pretty campus. There is a lot of great places to eat nearby.

Samantha Jones

Beautiful campus, really nice people and lots of reminders not to drink and drive

julieBaby

Extremely over-priced and depressingly over-rated. Third-rate education at a third rate school in a third rate state in a hopelessly ill-performing American education system! One glance at a world-wide university rankings table will tell you all you need to know about this educational embarrassment! Most of the students graduating this place are still as dumb-as-rocks!

Otto Khera

Wonderful university that defines "space" as something designed for comfort, social connection, and exquisite integration with the natural surroundings.

Adriana E

Great college

Trevor dietmeier

I attend this university and it's honestly one of the best choices I've made! The teachers and campus are both top notch!

Aravind Swami

Here's my favorite spot in the ASU Tempe Campus: Northwest corner of S Palm Walk and E Tyler Mall. There is an hidden space enclosed by hedges, bushes, a tree or two. You can easily walk by this place, and totally miss it. Inside that enclosed space is a bench and beautiful small fountain. Excellent space to just sit and get lost in meditation. If you are lucky and find yourself there at the right time of the year, the plants around you will have beautiful flower, including some very fragrant jasmine! This is truly one of the less-known, hidden gems on the ASU campus.

Anish Oswal

It's a beautiful campus and has a ton of places to explore within the campus itself.

Scott Clobes

Outragously expensive. Only giving 2 stars because of how fine the women are on campus.

king tut

Currently have a policy to charge economics students just to turn in homework with a set 30% failure rate. The faculty member who reported this was fired.

Mr GoogleHead

I miss ASU. I had a great experience here. I want to visit this campus again.

Natek

Moved to AZ after my sophomore year of high school and lived here for several years and then left back to my home state because my grandfather had a stroke. I moved back to Arizona after he passed, lived here for exactly one year and attended Glendale Community College. I am now almost finished at community with honors, club activity, and a 3.98 GPA. Despite being invited from prestigious universities, such as Columbia, I chose ASU because I see myself as an AZ resident, have great relationships with current professors who also teach at ASU, and wanted to be closer to home. Your residency office has labeled me as a non-resident, throwing my future, scholarships, and educational plans into question. I have never felt so mistreated, unwelcome, and demeaned by your residency office. I made mistakes on my application on the exact month I returned to Arizona and the process your university has to submit a correction via your residency petitions is ridiculous and those who work there are condescending and unhelpful. As this is my first experience with your university, I could not be more disappointed and am dismayed that ASU values profit over its students.
