This school seems great so far. There are many activities and events for the students to be active in. I like that they have the Safe Zone for the lgbtq community or anyone who needs it. The school does well at being inclusive.

If you enjoy using 90's technology, and absolutely hate to have any say as a student, and if you like to be treated like you are a lazy cheating student you should totally go here!! Example: test aren't password locked for the proctor. You wright your professor about it. Answer: "Why are you cheating?" Wait, hold up, what?? How did your mistake turn into me cheating? In what universe does that logic even work? Well, at UA that is how you obtain a phd! If you do not fit the standard of a healthy fully capable white person, you will automaticaly follow all your classes in expert mode! You also won't actually obtain an academic view or any academic skills, but at least you will have the real student debt!

The campus is huge, beautiful, and full of history! The restaurants on and nearby campus are fabulous as well. They provide a top notch education with an amazing atmosphere. Class size varies depending on your course, but the professors are very helpful at least in all of my experiences. My huband, dad, 2 brothers, sister-in-law, and myself are all alumni. I highly recommend this University!

-department wouldn’t return phone calls or emails, lost a semester - they don’t grade online work, you get no feedback or input - They take 5 points off everything and mark it complete ( i proved my suspicions by submitting knock knock jokes instead of a real paper, got same grade) - after finally getting into EHS masters program, they CANCELLED it, without warning - they never actually notified us the program was cancelled, we found out via message board from other students -Were finally told we had one semester to wrap it up and get certificate if we wanted it ( lost semester was difference between masters degree and a certificate now) -was told we had to reapply from the beginning if we wanted to change program - 45 days after final still don’t ha e grades posted/ certificate or anything for my troubles - Asst dean said she was sorry I had a bad experience , and grades were posted certificate on its way - logged in to finally see my grades, (6/18). she lied GO SOMEPLACE ELSE BAMA IS A WASTE OF MONEY

I deeply, deeply love the University of Alabama. I have been afforded some incredible academic and social opportunities that I wouldn't trade for the world. Several of my professors have become close mentors and friends. For a large school, I never could've imagined such a personal experience, but that's exactly what the Honors College and the Mathematics Department have given me. My preparation in mathematics has strongly connected me with the community of applied mathematics at large, and very suitably prepared me for my continued education in math. Also, as a non-Greek/ GDI, I can attest that I've had an incredible social experience, and I have no idea why so many non-Greeks complain about the social scene. Tuscaloosa is a vibrant city; get out and explore it!

Attended the University for both undergraduate and law school. I joined a fraternity and had a spectacular time while receiving a great education. Years later, I sent my son there for his education. Oh, and the football. I was there for 2 national championships. My son also was there for 2 as well.

Be sure to speak slowly when you talk to Alabama students. Large words are hard for them to understand. You will likely never leave the great state of Alabama after graduating. Trailer life isn't as bad as it's cracked up to be, though. I know plenty of Alabama fans that live in trailers. RTR!

Took my son to his first Alabama football game. Will suggest to anyone going to the game the charter bus they have coming from the University Mall is the only way to travel to Bryant-Denny Stadium. The game was awesome people were super friendly no matter what the fan base beautiful campus. Will be returning one day for another game.

This school has way too many stereotypes. For those stuck up bitter people who say it is not a good school, say it is just based on football and partying, are extremely bias and clearly unintelligent. You can go to any school and make it what you will. So, therefore, if you believe that it is a party school with poor academics, I would double check your sources because you just sound ridiculous. Obviously you did not get in, or you partied a little too hard and didn't get the degree you wanted. People admire diplomas from such an amazing school because it is so different and selective and the academics are NOT "stupid." The University of Alabama is a prestigious school that offers many hard, tough classes that require a lot of studying and a lot of effort. It is also jumping higher and higher on the countries rankings of colleges. Yes it is not a Harvard or a Princeton, but it does not want to be. It is UA and that is all it wants to be. And hi...they do NOT accept everyone, their acceptance rate is 40% and is getting lower and lower each year. This school is a GREAT school. For those of you who disagree with me, you clearly are trying to make Bama look bad because you have nothing better to do. But for the students who attend that school, the hardworking, busy, and intelligent responsible people who go there, they are much much much better than you who are just sitting on your computer, with nothing better to do, and making arguments you cannot support. Plus, living in Tuscaloosa my whole life, it is NOTHING but safe. To those who disagree....shame on you. ROLL TIDE!

My best decision was to come to UA! What an amazing institution of higher learning The Capstone is! So many more groundbreaking and amazing things to come. Unfortunately due to stereotypes and media bias many people don't realize what a special place this really is. Sure, it has it's social and ethical issues. What university doesn't? The University has achieved and progressed so much since the "Stand in the School House Door". Those accomplishments in themselves reveal the true character, drive, passion, and love the UA family has flowing through its Crimson blood.

Been there for 1 semester and while I am considering transfer it's not a terrible school by any stretch. Teachers are about average (no matter where you go to school, there will be good ones and bad ones) and it's nice having everything very close (never have to walk more than 10 minutes to class). The dining halls are about average I guess. I guess the main issue I have is the social life here. Fraternities are insanely expensive (low-end is about $2,000 per semester) and as a result you have them just filled with stuck-up people. For both of those reasons, I did not join one, and so it has been quite a challenge trying to find a good time somewhere. What's more, the large student body COULD be a good thing, except the only sense of community we have is the football games, and even that could be a lot better than it is. There's really not much diversity here, either, at least not compared to my home in downriver Michigan. I mean at UA there are basically only 3 races: white, black, Asian. Plus, the different races do very little interacting and mingling together. I'm not saying this to be like "f--k the south" either, this is just what I have experienced. If you are looking for a school to really have a good time and meet a lot of interesting people, UA is probably NOT the place for you. If you don't really care about that and just want to get yourself an education, then I guess it's pretty good.
