We usually book our own travel arrangements but decided to go with a travel agency since this trip was for our honeymoon and we wanted to make everything as simple as possible. I found Totem Travel from their online reviews and sent them an email. Patty emailed us back and she was great to work with. We told her we wanted somewhere in Mexico on the Caribbean side and adults only. She found a few places for us and have us pricing for a week long trip and then some details about the different resorts. We ended up choosing a resort in Playa del Carmen that was right on the beach and had an adults only and family side as well. The trip included airfare, transportation to and from the airport and the stay itself. We are now back from our honeymoon and the resort was great. Patty did a great job working with us and I have already recommended her to family and friends.

Sandi was our agent. We started the process last year to take a cruise to Alaska. She always kept us up-to-date on prices, trips, etc. She spent a great deal of time on this vacation of ours. And once we finally figured out what we wanted, she got us on board right away. Not easy, since there were 8 of us, with 2 toddlers, We will definitely return to Totem Travel, and to Sandi.

Immediately following Hurricane Odile hitting the area of Cabo San Lucas, MX (our original destination), your staff contacted us providing up to date information on the condition of the airport and local resorts. Within the week, you proactively confirmed that a travel advisory was extended beyond our departure dates and promptly researched an alternative re-route and perfect romantic all-inclusive resort stay in Puerto Vallarta, MX - with an upgrade to top floor ocean-view suites! Barcelo resort, located on Mismaloya beach just south of Puerto Vallarta, was an ideal place to celebrate our 50th providing outstanding food, drinks, and service! Again, thank you all for your outstanding customer service and attention to detail!!

I worked with Sandi, whom I have booked travel through many times in the past, to book a Cancun/Playa del Carmen package. My husband and I had a great time. We absolutely loved the Iberostar Quetzal in Playa. Sandi recommended this based on my desired location and activities/resort preferences. This resort was a perfect fit for us. We were on our 10 year anniversary, but I think Quetzal would also be good for a family vacation. The service was great and we enjoyed the resort, including kayaking and catamarans. We found that there was a wide selection of quality food if you avoid the beach/pool restaurants. In Cancun, we stayed at the Marriott. We were disappointed with Cancun, but Sandi had warned me that Cancun was built up, very commercial, and very American, so we were aware going into it. The resort was nice but we would have preferred the extra time in Playa. .

Totem Travel is the way to go! Sometimes there is too much information out there - so I decided to try a travel agent (didn't know they still existed). Totem Travel listened to what I wanted - what I didn't want -and my budget. Sandi emailed me back with five different options and we picked one. Just got back last week after having a fantastic time in Mexico at an all-inclusive resort. The prices were great, the customer service was excellent and it really was nice not having to search website after website for the best deal. Made a phone call and got the best deal!

I've planned 2 vacations with Linda's help and both were awesome.The first was to the Caribbean and she helped me choose 2 all inclusive resorts with options for hiking, zip lining and swimming with rays. This year she planned my vacation in Fiji with time on the main island for river rafting and the outer islands for snorkeling, kayaking and the beach. My favorite spot was Matangi where I did a waterfall hike and got 2 amazing massages, but the whole trip was great and all details perfectly planned. I'm going to call her again next year for Europe.

I guess any place can get bad reviews. I read the bad reviews for Totem and could not disagree with them more. Patty and Linda have helped my wife and I book 2 fantastic vacations (and we have a 3rd booked currently). I have recommended numerous friends and family members to them as well. I live in Texas and was skeptical using a travel agency based in Washington state, but after my first vacation, I knew I would use Totem for all of my tropical travel plans. If you want personalized help planning a tropical get-a-way, give them a call.

We would HIGHLY recommend using Totem Travel. Patty did a great job on taking care of us prior to our vacation. We were so fortunate to have the assistance in setting up our stay for 8 days. It was nice because Patty went through and found the best deal at the Riu in Puerto Vallarta. Her follow up with us was great and even when we got back, she sent us an email to follow up on our stay.
