Lots of museum to visit. Fish ladder viewing room is cool.

Donny Parker

This a great place to bring the family or a special someone. I love the museum and really love the fish ladder viewing area. It's so fun to watch live salmon swim up stream.

Christa Michel

The visitor area of Rocky Reach Dam is a very unique place in the valley that one can visit for a variety of reasons. First, there are the art and educational displays inside. Second, the fish ladder viewing windows that appeal to visitors of all ages. Third are the picnic area and playground that get loads of use over the summer. It's close enough for a quick visit, yet interesting enough to spend some time there doing different things.

Mark Damiani

Beautiful structure, great views, great exhibits and great place for kids.

Matt Thimgan

Impressive and fun!

Brian Holle

Great 1hour stop to see the salmon in the fish ladder and watch the movie about how the dam was constructed. Honestly, skip the museum, unless you’re into geology, Indian history, or early Columbia River development.

Education with interaction and incredible beauty. The heart starts by the play area with the flag that is flowers planted. The beautiful flowers are all throughout the grounds. When you enter the center (which is free, no cost) they ask if you would like a guided tour. Next you go to look at the history inside the Dam and to be impressed by the massive equipment that they have on display. Play with the machine to generate enough power to light the bulbs (it is not work than you might think) it is fun to compete with friends. A must see.

The fish ladder and the museum are amazing.

Fish viewing (through glass ports). Exhibits to learn more about the dam and community. (This is a federal institution so beware before driving onto the property so your items are not confiscated. Security at front gate with metal detectors before going into the exhibits.)

Lauren Hudson

Brought my boys here a few summers ago and it was fun. My oldest was sort of feeling overheated so they offered to let him hang out in their air conditioned building so the rest of us could wandered around outside. Fun educational place to go no matter what your age and they have a really cool playground which I believe has since been replaced with brand new equipment.

Hadn't been to Rocky Reach in many years, it was nice to come back. It was unfortunate to see the rabbits and guinea pigs gone but I can understand why they needed to be taken out. There is now a guard at the entrance and the museum section itself is not as big as it used to be. Everything is still free however and it was still a fun place to visit!

Robert Jahr

Haven't been here for over 30 years. Great facility, a real treasure for the public use.

Aaron Brown

Please update (or rather post) your signage and educate the staff with regards to dogs entering. We respect that only service dogs are allowed, but do please post a sign - there isn't one anywhere near the entrance, even though we were told otherwise. Also the security person at first told us both dogs could enter before a woman told us they could not, and assured us there was a sign indicating only service dogs were allowed - incorrect. Funny and yet odd note: we were told though, that we could take our dogs in if we carried them - one is over 60 lbs. We would have enjoyed providing an actual review, but alas, maybe another time.

Alot of work went into the making of this dam. Take in some history at the museum here or just watch the fish climb the ladders below.

Donny Harrison

Very friendly staff and beautiful facilities

Peter Reinold

This dam is nice as well add the visitor center. After you got through the metal detector you can move around freely and the have a museum which is housed in the main dam section. It shows how it all began. Also they offer great view into the powerhouse and on the spill way. There is a lot of recreational area at the dam property. You can have a picnic here. They have prepared areas for that. If you like Geocaching check out the challenge here to get a coin and visit also the Chief Joseph Dam and Grand Coulee Dam to get a nice patch.

Jaqueline Lezard

My 1st time INSIDE the dam. Very kool! Recommend!

Christian Georgieff

Kids had a blast. Fantastic place for the kids to play in the playground. The visitor/discovery center was amazing. We watched salmon climb the salmon ladder and learned about the dam and the history of the area. Worth spending a couple of hours there.

Rachel Courtney

This free, mostly self guided tour was really interesting. We spent a few hours here, learning about the dam and about the history of the area. The fish ladder was pretty cool and the surrounding grounds looked amazing. Restrooms were clean. Snack bar was stocked.

John Heide

Great place to visit! And have lunch!

Leaf Fael

Fun museum, fish ladder viewing and playground! Absolutely beautifully kept grounds...flower heaven! Free. Closes rather early so plan ahead.

Will R.

It's a great museum with pictures and lots of educational, historical, interactive displays. Check out the lower level, they have a window viewing area of salmon and other live fish in the dam. The views outside the dam are gorgeous as well (beautiful grounds and mountains surrounding it).

Well worth the time to visit. We were lucky enough to watch the salmon going through the fish ladder. Very clean and a well thought out museum. All the workers were polite, professional and personable, from the security guard to the attendants working the entry door security. Glad we made this last minute stop.

Bryan Hermans

I first went to the Rocky Reach Dam visitor as a grandkid. Now I had the privilege of being my inquisitive grandkid here for a fun educational experience. I personally like the history exhibits. He liked the rock displays. Every time I come they improve the grounds. The landscaping alone is worth a look. The new playground is also well done. My grandson made fast friends there.
