The woman who helped me with getting a permit was extremely rude. She treated me like an idiot because I don't know my license plate by heart. She got even more irritated and confused when I told her I was driving my work car and couldn't just walk outside and get it. By the time we were finished, she was throwing stuff across the counter at me. She couldn't be bothered with being polite or handing the pen and paperwork to me. By far the worst experience I've ever had with this agency.

If you want to get a backcountry permit to popular destinations like Sahale Glacier Camp, try to get here one day before your trip at 7am. There's usually a line before it opens.

Tim Nitschke

I saw a bear. Beware!

Without doubt THE best ranger station I have ever used. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable They sell some dried food if you need extra for back packing. They sell some park bits, magnets, hats, books etc. They have lots of maps to buy, and look through. The bathroom is clean, warm, and tidy. Go there and get some great help with info about the surrounding area!

Tetyana Bondarenko

This is one of the nicer visitor centers I have visited. The people are very friendly. There are good exhibits showing the sort of wildlife to be found in the area. They have a nice shop.

SUPER NICE STAFF!

The best national park wilderness information center in the country.

Great ranger station. Staffed by awesome rangers, this is a great place to pick up Wilderness permits, or learn about the park. If you are looking to get permits for a popular area, you'll want to show up around a half-hour before the station opens to get in line for permits, but this is a great station for one of America's most beautiful parks.

This is one of those places you need to visit. There is an energy here that is hard to find; positive vibes. It's one of those places where people are excited to visit and it just gets better when you arrive! Young, old, special event or site seeing; it's all good and you won't be let down. Do it!

Wasn't a good resource on my trip. I had a few trails in mind, but was hoping for suggestions for local park employees. They have only one suggestion of a trail behind the visitor center. Any questions I asked were responded with little interest

Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Great place to stop in before your adventures and get information on weather, trail conditions. If you are going into back country with your permit, they even provide free bear canister, which is fantastic (deposit fee of course).

Andy Watterson

Great info. And some of the best Ranger Station bathrooms in the NW

If you are going for a hike in any national park DO stop by the local ranger station they know the ins and outs of their parks and where to go what to carry what's worth watching and what you must see and where the crowds are and where you could go for a little privacy and a also about the safety from animal and just ourselves being stupid, they also know where the body was found of the one person doing the dangerous sellfy and fail to it's dead . Well just stop by and talk to them they are you best resource for anything also the passes that you might need

Very nice displays. Good place to go when it's raining.

Very helpful park rangers who were a wealth of knowledge on the area and the beautiful spots to check out in the Cascades. This is most certainly an underrated national Park and is well worth a visit to backpack, climb, or enjoy watersports on Diablo Lake. Most entrances don't require a fee to enter the park! Highly recommend visiting NCNP

This area is incredibly beautiful. I spent a week taking my boy scout troop to canoe on Ross Lake. All the rangers we interacted with were friendly and helped to ensure we had an enjoyable trip. I could spend so much time there just relaxing in the outdoors but life calls for me to do other things.

This was a very nice and compact visitor center that was situated right by our campground. It’s nice for those who don’t want to make the long drive up to one of the other two centers. This one doesn’t have much for views, but the rangers are still very helpful and helped us pick the hike we wanted to do. They also have some merchandise and a surprisingly large selection of nature books

Andy Bauer

An absolutely beautiful place

On my first trip here I was like a kid at Disney Land! It was my first encounter with a temperate rainforest and honestly I didn't even know such places existed. "SPECTACULAR" comes to mind!!

Visited Diablo Lake with the boat. Beautiful scenery, caught a couple fish and did some swimming in the cold water. We'll come back a couple times a year.

Very Helpful ! I called and had some questions about camping overnight in the National Park and they knew exactly what I was talking about and gave me great advice - highly recommended!

Jonathan Feng

A small visitor & information center. This is not the main visitor center. No fee to visit and you can grab a free map here.

Kristie

Very helpful ranger working the day we went. All the campspots we had picked for our hiking weekend were full, and he helped us find one in the area that was still open.
