Nice gift shop and information center
An awe inspiring glimpse at the after effects of one of the major calamities to sweep across the landscape. This site deserves a close look as the scope of this massive flood event is on a scale that is hard to imagine even with a small piece of the proof right in front of you.
Great place to visit and see the sights. Visitors center is neat and clean and well organized. The staff was great to talk to and informative.
A good place to stretch out after a long drive. Good views, good bathrooms, and they usually have a food vendor there.
This place is beautiful. The staff is helpful and friendly. A great reading point.
The free 15 minute video was awesome! There was also a ice cream stand outside that was a huge plus in the hot weather!
I love learning about the history of the land! It's a very informative and it's free, but does take donations. They have a small museum, gift shop, and movie theater with short informative video. Also there's food trucks outside and bathrooms!
Great 40 times bigger than nigra falls.
Beautiful! In addition there was a public restroom and a food truck.
We happened upon Dry Falls due to our path taking us towards Grand Coulee Dam. It was an excellent stop. We all had a good time learning about the ancient prehistoric Falls and we even got to see some of the Lakes down there. And the state park was excellent.
Closed, padlocked, not open...visited 06/13/19
Drove quite a distance to get here on Thursday because the website said the center building was open 7 days a week April to October. Frustrated to find it closed with a sign saying it was only open Friday-Sunday. It looks like a good place to visit, but you need to update your website, folks, with accurate information.
Beautiful and wild scenery.
Wish the visitors center was open for longer hours. But the great view of the landscape can make you forget any stress that you have
An excellent visitor center. Friendly helpful staff. Superb video and boards explaining how the falls came to be. The views are to be seen to be believed. Stunning
Awesome view point with friendly volunteer info guides. Excellent food, espresso and frozen treats as well with seasonal fruits!
An awesome vista, and great insight into the past.
Its a beautiful place with a really great lake that I loved
Awesome place to visit. To see the power of water that created this spot is amazing. Nice interpretive center.
Nice visitors center. Mini grand canyon
So very interesting.. and beautiful! You just gotta see it!
Great view
Beautiful views and great ice cream. Definitely stop if you are in the area!
Definitely recommend it! Beautiful site you won't regret it.
Fabulous experience! Great presentation and videos, with a terrific view of Dry Falls and the surrounding countryside.
Great view and the icecream stand served huge homemade icecream at a small price
Great vantage point to see dry falls. We had tacken the rough terrain road down at the bottom.
Enjoyed falls n all the history behind it . Also there is a concession stand that has excellant food you need to try their parmesan fries. Icecream cookies are awesome.
Nice history lesson here! I wouldn't recommend the concession stand, high price and not very good!
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, very happy to answer questions you may have about the area.
Great place to see sun rise
Very beautiful place
Awesome geologic history! Very knowledgeable staff to guide you through Washington's ancient ice age floods. Must see the series of short films (5min each) at the visitor center by Dr. Nick Zentner of Central Washington university geology dept.
Driven by it hundreds of times and never stopped, decided to take a flat Stanley there and was very impressed. Great stop and very informative!
Rangers are friendly and helpful
Almost missed the opportunity to visit Dry Falls have drove past it a few times. This time we had a few extra minutes and stopped. Worth the time, Stop by and see !
If you visit this region in the summer then definitely step into the visitor center. The air conditioning is nice. You will also find taxidermied local animals on display. The view from the visitor center is just as good as the view from outside.
Had fun stop every month at least once, never get bored
Exvellent views, top notch concession food and ice cream.
The stunning landscape speaks for itself. How on earth could anyone rate this any less than 5 stars?! The facility it clean, air conditioned. Bathrooms are very well maintained.
Very entertaining place to visit. Good educational stop for kids as well as adults.
A beautiful and amazing view.
Nice to visit, good info of history of site, a little dated and worn but still worth the stop if you are interested in geology and the Missoula Floods.
Great tourist destination
Such an awesome place! Beautiful view, tons of information with amazing displays, and many items for sale that help tell the history of our area. I absolutely love it and think everyone should go visit.
Great view and location
Loved reading the saga of geologist JH Bretz & his 30 year struggle to prove his theory of how the Dry Falls were formed!
Very interesting facts and the a/c worked amazing on this 90 degree day!
I cannot rave about Dry Falls and its Visitor Center enough! What a place! Truly, this geological wonder equals the Grand Canyon in epic scale...don't miss the opportunity to experience this ancient wonder, and be sure to stop at the Visitor Center for a thorough understanding of the collosal events that created this amazing place. Truly humbling.
This is absolutely beautiful. One our favorite sites to take family members that are visiting to. It's so awe-inspiring. We are so blessed to have places like Grand Coulee Dam and that whole area to visit.
Awesome place. Really enjoyed the film which describes how the coulees and Dry Falls lake were formed.
We were in the area and I pulled up Google Maps to see what was nearby. I'm so glad I found this. It was one of the coolest parts of a 6 week vacation. I would rate it as a good attraction for everyone from young families with children to older people. We did the visitor center first, then got ice cream to eat on the way to the bottom. It's amazing how large the falls were. You can't fully take it in unless you drive down to the water. Some people called it off roading, but we were comfortable in a little Terrain. I'm not sure I would do it in a tiny, low riding car, but it's because of rocks, not mud. Would definitely suggest you go!
The Visitor Center was open. Really nice information about the Dry Falls area. The Dry Falls are spectacular any time of the year. Worth the stop for sure.
Everyone should stop here to learn about the ice-age floods and feel the perspective of looking out and imagining water thundering over those cliffs. Very informative. Nice folks on duty too. Nice little gift shop.
My family and I went there 09-12-2018 in the morning and the guy ranger working there was super nice! He definitely made stopping by there worth the visit.
The view is amazing!
Tremendous stop and nice interpretation of amazing ice age floods.
Great view of the falls! Visitor center isn't open in the winter time though. Bathrooms were still open in early November.
So cool. Definitely go inside and watch the movie and talk to the rangers. It's So interesting, how it was created.
Great smiles, and coffee...oh and view aint bad either
It's been 5 years since I was there. It is beautiful.
Nice place. Has amazing views. Restrooms & free parking available. There are 2 stalls for ice cream & soda as well.
A place to see. Great views and good information available. This waterfall has been a huge one. Visitor center was closed in March, but the restrooms were open, which was great. A lot of parking space available, picnic tables and benches. A place definitely worth a visit.
This is a gem in the middle of nowhere! Nice facility and friendly volunteers to answer questions (and take pictures for you
Awesome views of one of the coolest attractions in Central Washington!
You like geology, this is the place, as Brigham Young might have said about someplace else. Evidently glacial Lake Columbia blew through an the ice dam and flow through the Grand Coulee and here, with enormous flows more than all the rivers in the world combined, creating this Coulee. Remarkable stuff, worth a drive. Bring a picnic.
Love the view! It's interesting to see this dry landscape of what used to be an ice age river and waterfalls a long time ago. I was very impressed how clean the visitors center is. There is an impressive amount of information about area and pretty cool small museum. This place also has public restrooms which are also nice.
So beautiful so worth the stop
Very informative and interesting
Very pretty worth pulling over for a quick stop to enjoy the site
Very informative stop and a gem of a tourist attraction right in my back yard. Great detailed and informative signage to paint a picture of what it might have been like. The tourist center was closed but thankfully the restrooms were not m. Cool building with great views I'm sure. The drive up to Dry Falls in Highway 29 North is spectacular.
Nice, warm sunny day perfect for picnics.
Spectacular view may have to come back again when I have more time
Great place to learn about fry falls area. They have interpreters on duty during the day and real good displays in the center itself
Wonderful view....
Gorgeous valley with high cliffs and waterfalls (my favorite) driving to our daughters home at Banks Lake
Lots of information. Loved it!
Very interesting video on how the area was formed.
Wow, what a beautiful drive. Get out and take a drive to Grande Coulee Dam and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Excellent center. Great views, knowledgable, enthusiastic guide torally engaged with what people want to learn about geologic events.
Dry Falls was truly beautiful! The visitor center was clean and had tons of interesting facts and history about the area. The ranger at the center was extremely knowledgeable and kind, giving us tons of information. Would definitely like to visit again and explore more.
This is a great place to learn how the Washington land scape was formed.
Lovely visitor center. Dry Falls itself was underwhelming. Would have been very impressive during the ice age.
Nice rest stop. Great view of the valley. Rest rooms open year round. Ice cream and sandwich vendor there during season. Plenty of parking.
Great views.
Great displays, art, souvenirs, movie and knowledgeable, friendly ranger.
Such beauty!
Great place, wonderful history laid out. Worth the visit.
Amazing... Pure serenity!
Beautiful place! Amazing! I definitely recommend going to this natural wonder right in our back yard!
Very beautiful and the its a cool viewing area and a nice building to roam in. And good food haha
Very cool place to get info on the state parks near by. Dry falls is super pretty and you can view it from inside the visitor center as well as outside! Nice place
Fascinating history. And a great lesson about how politics interfeared with science.
A neat stop. Check it out!
Love this place. Peering over the edge, imagining the apocalyptic geographical activity that carved this place. There's an amazing gourmet food trailer that's there all summer also. And ice cream.
Excellent audio visuals and static display presentations related to the exceptionally unusual geological history of this region. Gorgeous views of the Dry Falls and vicinity. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. And sometimes even an Espresso and goodies concession operates here, although this summer the concessionaire became ill resulting in the closure of the concession until further notice. A great rest stop none the less.
Dry Falls was an awesome sight! The pull off to the visitor center and viewing area was convenient. The view was gorgeous! And the visitor center had fun history facts and information. They also had a cool gift shop. There were also food trucks! My sister and I had some very delicious ice cream! It is totally worth a trip!
This place was pretty cool. Lots of places to stay. RV parks or boondocking. Huge lake to play in. And everything else, trails to walk, lawns to lay on. Life here is good.
I've not been here in 20 years, still an awe inspiring view! If you get there chance to explore the canyon do it, tons of great views.
Pet, kid, and handicap friendly stop with wonderful views.
Cool little museum with a movie room, gift shop has lots of stuff for kids, decent food outside.
We ended up at dry Falls State Park at the end of a very long road trip across the country. We were delighted to arrive to a beautiful landscape that looks very similar to West Texas. We were greeted by the most wonderful park employee we have ever encountered, her name was Tia. She is also from Texas, and we knew instantly that we were going to have a relaxing, safe and delightful weekend. We spent the morning sitting out by the water and taking photos, and got in quite a bit of hiking before it got too hot. The views are breathtaking, the campsites are very clean, and the amenities were perfect for us. We highly recommend that anyone in East Washington comes to stay here next time they are in the area.
Great place for history, puppy and people stop. Venders not open yet.
Beautiful veiw on the balcony
Stop here. What the hell else ya gonna do.
I was in Palouse falls when I decided to come here since its just an hour away. So anyway the this park is beautiful with an Ice age history, not a whole lot to go on from the top besides imagining how much water used to come down this cliff. And if you manage to find the way down the cliff hey even better! But what makes this place so worth it is when you are coming from the south you'll pass multiple other lakes along the way and may discover some parks thats worth going to along the way! What I'd recommend is to go see Palouse Falls first then head over here at Dry Falls as they are close from each other!
Beautiful place to visit.. A must-see.. Great family vacation
The easiest and best way to see Dry Falls is the Visitor Center. With a Discovery Pass you are good to go. I have lived in the Grand Coulee my entire life, been all over the world, and still consider it a world class wonder. I never tire of it. I love the artful gazebo built in 1929. The viewing platform. The stone wall with heavy chains for a fence. The panoramic view. The visitor center building has nice exhibits; but the best part is the 3-D map of the Grand Coulee. For an added treat, there is a seasonal concession stand for meals and treats. Sometimes we just go up for an ice cream cone to eat while peering into the chasm.
