Friendly staff, interesting exhibits.
I have been coming to Jensen since I was a small boy, I have visited Dinosaur 20 or more times in my life and every time I am awe struck. Looking back in time at the bones and considering these creatures were walking exactly where you are is very exciting. It is especially fun for kids. I absolutely recommend coming and seeing the bones, and then take a shorts trip up the road and see petroglyphs and Josie's cabin. Trust me you will not be disappointed.
Interesting to see. Awesome way to spend the day outside. Very beautiful.
Nice visitor center with good interpretive exhibits with lots of information about the park. Has a gift shop with a fair selection of loot. The people at the information desk were super knowledgable and helpful. There are clean restrooms and water bottle filling stations. You can catch a shuttle here to take you up to the fantastic quarry exhibit.
Awesome display at the Quarry Visitor Center. Ranger guided tour is a must.
Plaster replicas of several dinosaurs. Very entertaining for the children.
Well informed rangers answered all our questions. Even those on the roads and their potential for travel in a large RV. The gift shop was well stocked and organized. We enjoyed the informational video. The restrooms were well stocked and easily accessible. Driving was easy although only 2 lane roads.
Amazing wall of fossils
Dirty and sticky but still a very good park.
Small but informative visitor center. From here take the free shuttle to the quarry for a once in a lifetime experience. Consider hiking the trail back to the visitor center.
I'll never forget the look on my girlfriend's face when she first touched a 165 million year old dinosaur bone. She really got a connection to the past, and that alone would have made me give a 5 star rating. But the whole experience here made such an impression on her that she couldn't stop talking about it. Her jaw dropped to the floor when she first saw the wall of bones. I am somewhat familiar with paleontology and knew what to expect, but the presentation here is top notch and not to be missed and the effect on her has been priceless.
Very interesting place. The wall is spectacular.
The dinosaur quarry was a site to behold. An entire wall of stone with bones sticking out of it. There were over 10 species still in the wall. Over 12 species have been excavated from this site! The dinosaurs from this wall are found all over the US with some even making their way to Canada. We went with our 2 and 4 year old and they loved it. Outside of the dinosaur bones, the park is lovely and represents one of the more complete geological records in a US Park! If you do go out here for this, I highly recommend you stay in Vernal, UT. Such a nice town! They also have the Utah Field Museum which is a logical companion to a trip to Dinosaur National Monument's Dinosaur Quarry.
It's amazing to go see all these amazing bones in side the mountains, and touch millions of year old bones.
Lots of great information and cool things to see. Nice staff.
Great place
Amazing staff. Great gift shop. Beautiful exhibit.
Great fossil displays. Our grandchildren loved being able to touch some fossils. One of the rangers talked to the kids about the dinosaurs that inhabited the region.
Loved this place. Must go to echo park camping and visit steam boat rock
Beautiful exhibit.
Stopped through on a whim, was not disappointed. Scenery is incredible and not to mention the petroglyphs and fossils were incredible to see. Will be going back when it warms back up!
This place is a blast even more if you love paleontology or even history, go early to avoid heat
Gorgeous scenery. Good hiking. A scenic road with numbered stops and fantastic array of dinosaur bones
Wonderful place, so much to learn about
Had a great time.
Educational, beautiful scenery, very nice.
Excellent, we'll done museum. Took the hike, which was fun and very educational.
This is an amazing national treasure. This is probably one of the only places you will see dinosaur foods in a rock wall. Quick tram ride to an air conditioned building.
Great place to visit.
Good hiking here, tons of recreation but the dinosaur exhibit was a little below expectations. Great stop if you are in there area but I wouldn't travel here unless you are planning a hike, rafting, camping or fishing. Vernal has things to do and is a cool town.
Such an awesome place. I would highly recommend everyone can see the house
Fantastic! Off the beaten path but I found it fascinating and worthwhile. A "must see" in my book. We stayed in Vernal, Utah nearby and found this small town to be very pleasant.
Nice place. A little souvenir shop. The rangers were nice and helpful. Otherwise not much to do in there.
Just need more time! We will be back
We enjoyed the visitor center and sodas are toddler. We took the free shuttle to the quarry area, which is also very impressive. This is worth a stop!
The yound ranger (can't recall her name) at the counter was kind to my kids and made them feel special with their Junior Ranger booklet. The booklet was free and the kids got little ranger badges at the end.
This is a fantastic site! Should be on anyone's bucket list! The visitor center is built around the wall of fossils. Truly amazing to see them all and touch a few. Speak to a paleontologist on site and hike a trail leading to more and more fossils.
The people were nice but the shuttle doesn't run
Interesting place. If traveling through it is worth the stop.
Fantastic park.
Love to pick up a new dino each visit!
Staff very knowledgeable!
Just one word. Awesome! I have never seen such a large concentration of dinosaur fossils ever in my life (60 years). Great place for kids and seniors alike. Less than an hours drive from Rangely, CO or Vernal, UT.
Awesome place. Be sure to check out their astro programs wednesdays and saturdays in the summer.
This is probably the premier paleontological experience in Utah. Also one of the better "dinosaur bone" experiences in the world. Every family member, from PHd level adults to little kids enjoyed this on our trip. It is truly remarkable and worth spending time to see.
Some interesting exhibits here. I thought the staff was super helpful. They have a movie but it should probably be updated.
Brilliant and unique visitors centre!
The place is more fun in the winter, great look waning opportunity for my grand son.
Cool place some movie related history
You a bad parent if you never talk your kids here
Very interesting place with actual fossils. The kids loved it. My tip: go up with the shuttle and walk down along the fossils track. It is way easier since the weather can be damn hot! The visitor center is well documented and the area at the top is even better showing the actual place where they used to dig out the dinausors.
Absolutely breathtaking... Took my 6 y/o to see the quarry and he totally geeked out. After listening to him talking about all the dinosaurs we received a fun little workbook for the kids. When we sat down and finished the book, we walked to a nearby ranger and was given a badge. Super fun!
This is truly a place for all ages. Anyone breathing should visit this patch of rock.
Very interesting place to visit!
So interesting and beautiful
Awesome place to visit. So many things to see and we learned a lot!
What a cool place for anyone with an interest in dinosaurs. The visitor center had a wonderful gift shop so you must check it out. The quarry had me awe struck. The building houses a wall of dinosaur bones captured in the rock, right where they died, and waiting for paleontologist to finish the excavation. The walking trail out back has rock slabs with fossils, which was a nice addition. The ground is fairly gravely so greater care is needed using the stairs if you have difficulty walking.
Awesome place. Knowledgeable staff. Beautiful.
This is the best dinosaur attraction in the Uintah Basin. Guest can touch real dinosaur fossils. They charge per vehicle.
We loved dinosaur National Park and want to go back soon! If you have never been you should take the time to go visit this wonderful park. So much to see. Dinosaur bones on the quarry wall is so close to here and the beauty through out the park. One of our favorite national parks!!
Even more interesting than we expected. Very cool.
take shuttle bus here to the exhibition Hall. helpful rangers and informative ranger program, a lot of exhibition and full collection of books and souvenirs.
The dino dig display is very cool, but there wasn't much more to see than that.
Needs to be seen once in a lifetime, really cool museum!
Awesome visit. Our 9 year old was in heaven!
I am a nerd, so I love this place. Make sure to take the short hike from Josie's homestead into Hog Canyon. One of my favorite places anywhere.
Incredible experience! Definitely add to your summer travel stops...or anytime of the year. Fascinating information and interactive exhibits kept our young children engaged. Also interesting for adults who may not even have an interest in dinosaurs or museums.
I think this is the only place in the world where you can not only see a wall full of real fossilized bones, but you can also touch the bones. The 3 minute tram ride from the visitors center was quick and informative. If you appreciate dinosaurs, this is a must see and feel!!
It's a great place to go and get information and see some history. There is even a real fossil you can touch!
Super cool place. Suggest you take the self guided tour. Really interesting, informative, & fun.
What an awesome experience!!!
Excellent dinosaur exhibit. Amazing quarry and helpful tour guide.
In the middle of nowhere but worth it to see the fossils.
Wonderful place to see Dinosaur fossil. Mesmarized to see so many fossils at same place in such a good shape. Must for those kids who are interested in Dinosaurs.
A cool place to have a family trip. Particularly, if you have little ones who are into paleontology. Our kid had a blast there. There are also moderate hikes in the area with some petroglyphs that you can't find anywhere else. We enjoyed it and would go back again.
A nice place to get out of the heat. In the front they have a short video that talks about the monument and its history. They have a big wall map so you can see the highlights of the park and where to go. For the kids they can work on their Junior Ranger badges which are a lot of fun, just go up to the desk and ask for the booklet. Outside on the back of the building is where the shuttle takes you to the Quarry, but there is also a water bottle refill station there. During the summer the shuttle leaves every 15 minutes so you don't have to wait very long.
It was vary fun thank u
Went there 40 years ago and thought it was amazing, today I took my grandson there. It is still amazing, the staff are great and very knowledgeable. The shuttle to the quarry runs every 15 minutes, it's free, the scenery is gorgeous, from the quarry you can see the green river. Doesn't seem to have changed in 40 years but I enjoyed it even more today. There are places to donate money to keep the park running and up to date, please give, we need to protect our parks so our grandkids can share them with theirs
Fascinating exhibit, very informative staff, will come back!
So much fun
The bone jam was worth the price of admission.
The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. And the wall of bones is amazing to see!
Great experience. Wonderful hiking trails. My 10 year old loved it and so did I!
Good place for kids to learn about nature.
Great friendly staff, park rangers are super friendly with the interaction the kids have with them.
Great exhibit! Loved seeing dinosaur fossils in situ.
In the summer it's hot! The rangers are very nice. Small displays, but fun. Still need to explore the trails, but if you are interested in dinosaurs it's worth it.
Excellent opportunity to see dinosaur bones in a natural habitat. Easy access and enjoyable for children who like dinosaurs.
Was told they were not sat up for card purchases. Had to go to the park entrance to pay for the campsite. Did not buy any souvenirs because I don't carry cash.
Amazing! Loved the dinosaur log jam wall.....so many bones!
Some cool fossils
Nifty place to learn about dinosaurs found in the Northern Utah area. The dig site is sheltered and air conditioned, so you don't have to die of heat. There's also a tram that'll take you to and from the visitor's centre and the dig site. The fossils are authentic and you can even touch some of the lower ones.
Fun place to learn a little more about dinosaurs. The wall of bones is cool to spend some time searching.
Great place to visit. Learned lots about Dinosaurs and the geological areas they are found in and picked up a brochure to see the petroglyphs.
The exhibit at the quarry is amazing! You cannot experience anything like this in a museum. A must see if you are interested in dinosaur history.
Breathtaking display of over 1000 dinosaur bones representing over 100 animals. Plenty of hikes and free shuttle.
We love the jr ranger program for the kids. Place is kept nice and cool which is great in the summer heat
Amazing displays Ana achaeological history
Awesome place! Absolutely enjoyed.
Nice tour, with real fossils and bones
It was a great visit, I'll be back for sure!
Absolutely incredible fossil wall showing a curious moment in history where a number of dinosaurs seem to be all piled up together. You take a shuttle out to the main wall from the visitor’s center. It looks like there was an option to walk the mile or so out there but no one was doing it when we were there. Not much other than the wall (unless you’re camping) but it was well worth the trip!
Love this place. Seriously cool.
Great place for all dino lovers, young and old. Amazing how fossils just stick out of the rock wall to make awesome sight.
So so cool
Extremely interesting place. Recommended!
Fun place for seing and touching real dinosaurs bones. Over 1,500 dinosaur bones to see inside the quarry exhibit hall.
Amazing place to visit. Dinosaur lovers or people who just want to be amazed should go here.
Nice visitor center with a shuttle to the quarry hall where you can view a wall of half excavated bones... 1500 of them. Then take the shuttle back or take a short (.7 mile) walk/hike back down. There are some beautiful stone formations with gorgeous colors on the hike.
Immense. Amazing views of the wall of bones
A wonderful place for children and adults. You will love the dinosaur skeletons. Rangers are very help helpful and engaged.
Fantastic place. A museum like no other.
This is one of the coolest places I've been too. It is not large in it's display but very facinating.
Wonderful, great exhibits and seeing so many bones in situ is amazing.
This was my first time here. I'm from Michigan visiting family. This was one of the stops. I wasn't sure what to expect but seeing such a large amount of fossils collectively was impressive! *Note* There are trails you can walk on once you take the shuttle to the lab. I wasn't prepared and was wearing sandels. If you're into walking trails, at least bring a pair of walking shoes. It's very dusty with lose sand and stone so I don't recommend using sandels/flip-flops. I do recommend visiting this place if you are in the vicinity.
Very interesting. Worth going to if you like pre historic history. You actually see Fossil bone's in the rocks, besides the visitors center.
Awesome displays of fossils. A must see for anyone interested in dinosaurs.
Cool! Experience how science has discovered our past. What an important scientific site on display!
If you have any interest in our earth's history, you must visit this incredible wall of bones of a different species. Place your hands upon the creatures of a time long, long ago.
Amazing. Be sure to checkout the petroglyphs in addition to the fossils.
Clean bathrooms, nice staff, informative signs. Was a nice place to wait for the bus to the fossil wall.
The visitor center is basically a gift shop but it's worth the stop. They have some cool souvenirs.
Not our first time here. Very clean, lots of helpful staff. The monument is great with lots of different things to do.
Beautiful and very interesting place.
Such a cool place and it was amazing to see the dinosaur bones and even touch some of them. Totally worth the visit and really glad we went up. They have a tram to take you up on the weekends. It runs every 15 minutes, so that’s nice. During the weekdays, you can drive up. There is a hike but it looked like it was up the road and that doesn’t sound too fun.
One of my favorite places in Colorado. An amazing wall of dinosaur bones. Specimes from here are displayed all over the USA.
Such a unique experience! It's fascinating to see the bones left exactly as they were found - and it really makes you curious what else is in that mound...
it was wonderful trip with my mother and rest of my family staff was excellent and very informative it was just outright awesome
Who doesnt love dinosaurs? Take the kids and go see the bones in the quarry, learn about dinosaurs and enjoy being where the dinosaurs walked.
Be sure to do the junior ranger program! We had a great time seeing the quarry. You start at the visitor's center and ride the shuttle up to the quarry. The rangers are super helpful and make the programs extremely fun for the kids.
Amazing! Great family trip for all ages.
A great learning experience! Love the story of the discoverer and his request of the government!
Wonderful experience, very educational for myself and my kids
It is great! Been to dinosaur exhibits all over the country. The ability to see the fossils in the quarry wall lends a new perspective. Take the guided hike to see additional fossils and learn about the geology.
Totally awesome to wall. One of a kind sight to see
One of the most unique National Monuments I've visited. Recently rebuilt, the dinosaur quarry encloses a cliff face where hundreds of dinosaur skeletons have been removed and others left exposed for you to see. Perfect for would-be young palientologists Nice and cool inside when the desert outside in the 'primordial' landscape hits 100F and more. The multi-storey building is fully accessible via long indoor handicapped ramps. Gift shop.
Great place to visit!!!
Never boring. I believe I have been here 7 times over time. So much to learn and see.
Great Scenic views
Awesome place! My whole family had fun at the Dinosaur National Monument!
Very unique, informative, and enjoyable for all ages. I never dreamed I'd be able to touch a real dinosaur bone!
It a great place to see nature and learn about earth's past.
Very cool place, worth the visit!
The camping, night sky, visitor centers, and staff are all great. It's quite an interesting place if you enjoy science and history; looking forward to spending more time here in the future.
If you want to see dino bones, I mean a lot of dino bones in one place then this place is a must. A building built over an excavation area. Unique!
A really great visitors center. You can get maps, learn about the park, buy souvenirs, and there are nice bathrooms as well. The park ranger that was there was super nice and gave a lot of good information for exploring the park. I think the map we got cost $1 but it had information about each and every stop you could make through the park, it was very much worth it!
Wonderful place to visit with the family.
Amazing experience!
Amazing place. Must go back and do some serious hiking
This is an excellent place to go to look at dinosaurs! Go see it!!
The Quarry exhibit center is where the real fun happens. This visitor center was more a gift shop than a visitor center.
Dinosaur national monument is a really unique place. First, if you're not into deserts, dinosaurs or aesthetic beauty don't bother coming! This ain't f***ing Disneyland. Pull your head out of the sand and realize that. This is raw, rugged beauty of Eastern Utah/Western Colorado. We on the same page? Cool, here's more of a review. They have a dinosaur quarry tour which can get quite busy during the summer, plan ahead. More into hikes? There's plenty, if you need a map check in at the office, they're super helpful. Want more adventure? Try rafting the Yampa River or Green River. This requires a permit for private boaters or you can pay a local company to take you down. Beautiful canyons both of them and the rapids are fun. I've personally done both rivers and loved em.
Had so much fun
What an incredible gift to be able to see these fossils left in situ! My only regret is that we weren't able to visit at night when the stars would have been incredible.
The ranger here was incredibly helpful. She answered all of my questions and gave me great tips on camp sites. I watched her help several other visitors as well and she was patient with every one of them.
The quary wall was probably one of the coolest things I have ever seen! Fun kids projects to keep little ones interested too!
This a very informative trip into the past. Wow what a collection of spectacular fossilized dinosaur bones. Far more than I could have imagined. Guides are very knowledgeable and full of factual information. Far more here to see than meets the eye.
Great displays of area fossil history. Very informative in an interesting way.
