Tour was great but we were left at the last stop. I asked the driver if I could use the bathroom which he was good with. But he left us! I tried to call the office who called the driver but he didn’t answer his phone. No apology or options. We had to make our way back to our car by city bus and foot. The driver left us so he left without his tip which the sign clearly posted to be expected 15 to 20%.

The tour with City Sights company was a great way to see the highlights in a few hours. The tour bus made several stops: Temple Square for a musical performance of a famous pipe organ, some pioneer houses, Utah capitol statehouse, Pony Express monument, Mormon pioneer trail visitor center, a lunch stop at a famous pioneer mansion, and a lot of things were seen while riding on the bus. But about half or maybe two-thirds of the tour was time off of the bus so we felt very satisfied that we could explore. There wasn't much walking on the tour. Much of the group were seniors. The drive through the historic mansions neighborhood was a real treat and we never would've found it on our own! The bus had good air conditioning. We were picked up from our hotel by the bus about 20 minutes before the tour began and then it made some other pickups around downtown. Another tour option on their website is a shorter tour in a restored trolley streetcar. But we decided on the 4 hour tour by bus because it looked more comprehensive and more serious about history. If you have kids or don't like history then the trolley might be the better choice. We also found a different bus tour company in town that does a hop on hop off style tour, which we normally do when traveling, but there were a lot of bad reviews for this company and their website said their double decker bus was permanently broken and they're now using an old children's school bus and it circulates just once every 2 hours. A third tour company called "Guided Tours" never answered their phone and many reviews on Tripadvisor said it is unreliable and they were never picked up and had a tough time getting a refund because the company never answers the phone.

We took the Ultimate City Tour + Tabernacle Choir with City Sights tours. We were within one block from our hotel to a pick up at Hampton Inn. The driver and tour guide was prompt and a dozen of us got on and was greeted by Michael. He was very informative and and pointed out the many historical sights throughout the city at the same time giving us a good background history of the beginning of Salt Lake City. We purposely planned our trip so that we would take the tour in a Sunday so we could see and listen to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. This was AMAZING ! Michael was friendly and helpful with giving us time to take pictures and taking back to our own hotel.

Driving a bus up Butterfield canyon is a terrible decision. Stop putting others at risk on narrow roads.

We were lost in down town and were late for our tour. But our guide was very patient with us and pick us up even it was 20 minutes later. Very friendly and pleasant tour. If you want to learn about history and traditions of Salt Lake City you have to experience that.

I can't begin to describe how bad my experience was. If I could rate 0 stars I would. Our company chartered a bus for a corporate management retreat to Las Vegas from Salt Lake. The website says, "Don't try to see the sights packed tightly into a small, uncomfortable van - with poor window visibility and poor air conditioning - like our competitors use." Well that's exactly what we got, an old 15 passenger van that was so outdated it had a tape deck and no CD player. Luckily we had a tape-auxiliary jack to plug in the phone for music. We'll get back to the music momentarily...Our driver refused to go faster than 10 under the speed limit. We stressed that we had plans and reservations, and that going 50-55 in a 65mph zone was not ideal. He said the reason for driving so slow was safety. We thought we would be getting a larger vehicle (based on website photos) that would handle at least a 60mph speed. Some became frustrated with the driver and weren't courteous. For that I apologize. However, he pulled the van off the highway in the middle of nowhere to scold us, and tell us our music was despicable and that he wouldn't listen to it anymore. THIS IS AMERICA. This is not ISIS controlled Syria. When you accept our money (thousands of dollars) to drive us to Las Vegas, you agree to provide that service as a private charter. If you want to only take tours around the Mormon temple with that type of crowd, by all means, do that. However, when you agree to take a management team to Las Vegas and accept thousands of dollars, don't get upset if a few rap songs come on. I question the safety excuse as he put in ear buds to block out the music, which is completely illegal in every state except Arizona. Yes, I checked. If you aren't equipped or mentally prepared for that type of trip, you should let us know and direct us elsewhere. The drive was increasingly awkward after the scolding, as we are all adults. He called us ignorant! I am highly educated, and manage a million dollar a year office with 60 employees under me. You drive a van. 3 of the 9 people in our party opted to rent a car and drive back separately, opting to pay out of pocket instead of riding in the van. Those of us that rode back were even more miserable. As we left Vegas, John informed us that we were not allowed to play any music on the way home. None. I told him I would play Backstreet Boys for 9 hours, but I was not going to listen to the sound of wind. He snapped on us and told us there would be no music at all. So we sat in complete silence after the awkward outburst from Vegas to St. George. Nobody said a word, not even whispers to each other in the back. Upon our arrival in St. George, I opted to purchase a plane ticket and fly back the rest of the way. Make it 4 out of 9 customers that would rather pay their own way back than ride in the van with John. Perhaps this review may seem unfair as this company is designed to do historical tours around Utah, but my point is that there should have been mention of that earlier, and our business should have been turned away. Thanks for ruining an otherwise perfect trip.

Mr. Knight did our tour over the course of two days. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. He fit a lot in in a short about of time.

The tour was fun and informative and I learned a lot about the founding of the City and the Mormon Faith. I was very glad that it was available on Labor Day since that was the only day available for me to take the tour. The tour guide/driver was very friendly and kept it interesting.

Very enjoyable tour of Salt Lake City exploring things we would have never seen otherwise. We had the perfect tour guide who was so knowledgeable and entertaining and a genuinely nice man. The tour provided many good photo opportunities. Highly recommend this to anyone!

Terrific tour to the copper mines! The driver was the tour guide and he shared a lot of great stories and information. Our teenagers were captivated and that is not easy to do!

My friend Dave and I took the tour of Salt Lake City today, Sunday, May 25, 2014. It was the 8:30 a.m. tour and included the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the Salt Lake City Tour. Our guide (I believe his name is John) was fantastic. He provided a great deal of information and answered all of our (my) many questions. It was a great experience and I am glad I did this tour and recommend it to others!

Great tour option if you don't have much time to spend in Salt Lake City. I booked this tour only two hours before pick up, and it worked out beautifully. The guide, Wynn, was very personable and extremely knowledgeable about the city. We stopped often which was nice to get out of the bus. He even made suggestions along the way of other places we should see or research. The tour ended at the tabernacle choir rehearsal. It was great bc it was informal. The conductors started and stopped, and people came and went freely. Personally, I found it more interesting than a formal performance. I could have stayed there all night!

Could not believe how informative this was!! Highly recommend if you want an overview of SLC and LDS Church history, and a drive by many sites that you can return to to spend more time. Do this on day 1 of your visit, then you'll know where you want to spend more time.

WOW and WOW again! John Knight was VERY knowledgeable and shared this with enthusiasm and always with a smile! It was obvious that he loves his city and state. We love history so we learned so much from him. We highly recommend this tour especially if John is the guide.

I took this tour on a whim and was impressed by the abundance of historical facts and stories. The more theatrical part wasn’t really my style, but I enjoyed learning more about my own city. The guides were really helpful in answering my questions and put on a good performance.

We took the Ultimate Salt Lake City + Tabernacle Organ tour. Out tour guide Wynn was very knowledgeable and really went out of his way to make sure we had a great time. He was successful! We would definitely recommend this tour (and Wynn) to anyone visiting SLC.

This was an outstanding tour. We took the tour on Thursday, August 13, 2015. Mr. John Knight is very knowledgeable and an outstanding teacher. I know good teaching--I retired after 44 years as a university professor. I have a much better impression of the people of Utah. I thought the Beehive state citizens were all thieves for stealing our basketball coach Rick Majerus from my institution--just kidding. I really liked the courteous treatment we received in Salt Lake City.

I was in Salt Lake City for 3 weeks for business and took the SLC tour one Saturday in April and loved it. My tour guide Wen ( I hope I spelled that right ) he was informative and funny the entire trip sharing the history of each location but also included his family story of coming to Utah. I recommend this tour for any one who wants to see the sights of SLC with out having to figure where to go and how parking works by them selfs. Definitely a must for first timers to this city.

I had a wonderful time on the Utah copper mine tour with City Sights. This was the only company that would go to see the copper mine. The road was very rugged and our group of 4 was very glad we didn't try to do this on our own! We saw a bunch of deer on the absolutely beautiful drive up the mountain!

We only had a couple days in Utah, so went with guided tour to take in as much in as possible. Chose this tour instead of 'other' company based on Trip Advisor ratings. Great start - the guide was personable and professional. Liked the small group format - helps that our fellow site seers were nice and friendly. Plenty of stops (not all driving by and pointing to buildings), great history, and fun lunch opportunity. Great choice

James Njord

Our tour driver was friendly and knowledgable about Salt Lake City and the spots we saw on the tour. The bus was comfortable, clean and just the right size (not too big). Our lunch spot was the perfect ending to a wonderful morning! Highly recommended!

This tour was great! We've lived in Ogden for almost a year and had no idea how much history this state contained. It was so great to learn about so much in such a short time. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and friendly. I only wish the tour was longer so we could spend more time at the stops, but now we have a list of places to see in the future.

If I could give 0 stars, I most definitely would! My experience with City Sights and our drive with John was absolutely miserable. While traveling on business, our driver John was very disrespectful in how he treated me and the rest of my co-workers. Not only did he not allow us to listen to the music we requested, but called us all ignorant. Along with John being so degrading to our group, he also drove at least 10 miles under the speed limit the entire time. He tried explaining many times that it was unsafe to drive the speed limit and that the engine of the vehicle couldn't handle the weight. This was extremely inconvenient as we left in plenty of time to reach our destination at a reasonable hour, and arrived almost 2 hours late. John was so disrespectful of our time and very inefficient in the way he was handling the business transaction. I would highly recommend that you do not hire City Sights for any business, pleasure, or family event as it will be a waste of your time and money.

Unfortunately I have nothing good to say about the tour experience because they cancelled our tour before it occurred. We were supposed to go to a copper mine and see the great salt lake, but were told the trip would be cancelled due to a lack of reservations. So we decided to rent a car and go see the copper mine ourselves. When we arrived to the mine, we were turned around by the security guard because they no longer offer tours. Where were they planning to take us if the mine does not offer tours?
