Poor customer service!!! After missing our cruise & having to put out $250 for hotel and wanting to charge me $200 per person to get back home Americans Airlines awards me with 2000 bonus miles??? What the hell should I do with that?? Like they think I would ever fly with them again?? Useless!!!

Not good. Not helpful. Not understanding for large family groups. Stuck on runway 4 hrs. Still have 2 hrs to go on next flight (had to run with kids to make connection) (after missing 1st one) no food, kids have to pee and in the grand scheme I'm sure f's given by American Air is 0.

Frequent business traveler says NO choose ANOTHER AIRLINE. I fly for business many times a month. I use mostly United, American, and Alaska. AMERICAN has poor customer service knowledge. As with most airlines, you have to speak with to a supervisor to get a "real" answer, although the customary line is "the supervisor will tell you the same thing". When asking for a supervisor I have received such rude remarks as " I BET YOU WILL HOLD ON FOR THAT SUPERVISOR!" 9 out of 10 times the representative purposely loses the call. I hold on for the "survey" and it never happens. What is True is that AMERICAN AIRLINES has SQUEEZED in the fine print that since NOV 2018 REWARD TICKETS EVEN WITH IN 24 hours will STILL CHARGE the CUSTOMER $150 to reinstate your miles. Within 24 hours they will REFUND you $ at no charge but WON'T GIVE BACK YOUR MILES. THIS NEW POLICY IS WRONG! Charging the CUSTOMER $150 for use of their own miles even within 24 hours.....and not making this clear to the customer....HORRIBLE..... Don't get a Credit card with American for miles that the corporation tries to take away from the "valued customer". BEWARE or just accept that you should not grab that Special that they are offering or take any "AMERICAN ADVANTAGE" Ha!

I booked a ticket to visit my friend. Shortly after he was hospitalized and I had to cancel my flight. American Airlines took my fare and offered no alternative remedy.

This airline is unbelievable our flight was booked in Feburary. They change a rule for comfort / companion animals that went in effect 6/1/2018. Even though my paperwork was sent in appropriately by my personal doctor and vet. They refused to allow me to bring a 4oz sugar glider on board the plain inside of a carrying pouch that is zipped and inside a flight approved carry on pet carrier. American Airlines states that sugar gliders are a danger. How can it possibly be a danger it cant unzip either of the Carriers it is in. Thank you American Airline for ruining a much 3 year waited honey moon and destroying the rights of a disabled member of society.

I realize I always have a choice when I fly, and from now on I will do whatever I can to avoid flying on American Airlines. I recently flew from Savannah Georgia To Seattle Washington, then on to Anchorage Alaska. My worst moment with this Airline began at the check in. I was 2 1/2 hours early as to deal with my extra luggage. No one even acknowledged my presence for some time. I had to walk up to the counter and asked to be checked in, no friendly welcome, no hello nothing! I had weighed my boxes at home and both of them weighed less than 50 lbs. the scale at the airport weighed each just over 50 lbs. but less than 2 lbs In each case. I was asked to cut both open and take things out, during which the 2 ticket agents carried on a private conversation, which I feel may have been a negative one concerning me. After the boxes were rearranged, and weighed I requested tape to reseal my boxes. My request was greeted with a heavy sigh, and a trip out of site to get it! So much is wrong with this picture!! I don’t even know where to begin!! I was friendly to book of them through this ordeal, but unfortunately didn’t get the same in return. I might also suggest your web page regarding luggage fees is a bit confusing. Your prices for extra baggage are not posted near enough to the statement about being able to check up to 10 bags. In the end I paid of course ($180.0) to get my things home. I thought I would be paying $70.00 In the end I don’t remember ever being treated worse by airline employees.

Yea, they are not helpful, I do not know why this is the case. The online booking is dysfunctional. The change fees are confusing. They are not helpful, they are unable to explain the rules, they are very quick to blame you for not understanding their internal systems operational decisions of the online booking. If you are new to American Airlines be very very careful. Horrible customer service. Think very carefully before booking with this airline. Use this airline as a last resort only. Southwest Airlines is amazing compared to American Airlines for travel in the USA. Vouchers are mailed via snail mail and if lost, it is like mailing cash and it gets lost in the mail. I asked if there is an electronic record and she said no. It can only be mailed. I stopped in DFW at the ticket counter to confirm my return ticket to Vail for Aug 29th, 2017 and she said the ticket was there. I tried to check in today and no ticket found on line. Amazing I went to the ticket counter after arriving in Dallas, and told I had a return trip, and then today when I proceed to check in--- surprise. It is all my fault for not understanding how their online booking system operates. Over all service is horrible. On the flight from Vail to Dallas they announced they won the best airline of the year—— I believe this is a self appointed award. They are not fixing the customer service, they are trying to cover it up with self appointed awards. The refund system is crazy, you would thing they would keep a record of the account information. I believe they know that mailing the voucher will cause a good fraction of them to be lost and this is great for them.

Customer service is horrible. Landing was delayed, missed the connecting flight. The staff at the gate was very unpleasant, kept making excuses about not wanting to make accomodations. Stated the weather was not her fault etc. I guess it was my fault, i caused the weather delay.... Did not offer hotel or even a meal or bottke of water, what a dissapointment, again. I would give 0 stars if i could. I should have known, was on the Dallas flight to little rock a couple a months ago that had to be rerouted to Louisiana, Shreveport because of storms. They put us on a bus and drove us to little rock. Needless to say i was upset, since i bought an airline ticket and not a bus ticket. But they did not care, no one apologized or contacted me, that was pretty sorry. Dont know why i thought AA would do better this time. Iam at the Dallas airport with my sister and two minor children. They expect us to sit here with no food or drink to sit here and wait for 7 hours for the next flight. Pretty bad customer service from AA.

If you wish to be treated as a valued customer, this airline will fail your standard. Overbooking flights to the point the weight is too great for the airplane, after offering travel vouchers (only good for a year) to four customers - then hand selecting another five to boot from the airplane after everyone was seated. What a cheap practice. After all this, our flight was cancelled because it missed curfew. The airline only offered a discount on a hotel for the night - making the customer pay even more for their dirty practices. I will never give this airline business again, and I travel 75% of the time for work.

American Airlines is not so American. We've flown them twice and have had horrible experiences every time. Our last flight on AA was a 10-hour leg with a 1-month old flying home on leave from active duty. The flight was half full. Since there are specific seats for families traveling with babies that allow the baby to be put in a hanging bassinet, we requested to be assigned to those seats once we got to our gate. Our seats were 5-rows back from the hanging bassinet and they would not move us unless we paid $300 extra, which we could not afford being on military pay. Once on the flight, there was nobody sitting in those seats and they would not allow us to move. They do not have their customers best interest at heart unlike other Airlines we've flown such as Alaska Airlines.

Called in because my TSA Pre check wasn't showing on my ticket. Left my name for them to call me back. In the interim I went online to see if I could figure it out and right when they called me back I resolved it. I said to the lady that it looks like I'm okay now and it's resolved and she instantly hung up on me without saying a word. I'm not impressed.

Ill try to make this short. I never write bad reviews but this is well deserved. I boycotted AA 5 years ago due to a horrible experience flying to Mexico. I decided to try the airline again after 5 years. I fly frequently for work. 1st flight delayed which would cause me to miss my connection so I rescheduled the connector. Then after an hour the 1st flight was canceled. So I had to reschedule for a 2nd flight. After waiting on hold for 30 min and rescheduling, they announced if we rescheduled for that flight it was also delayed which would make me muss my connection again. So I scheduled a 3rd flight getting in later than I wanted since I have to work tomorrow. While waiting the 4 hours for this flight there were THREE gate changes. So I kept migrating closer to the gate, it would change. Then I go the other gate, after an hour it was changed. This happened three times. I finally made it to Dallas to connect to San Antonio. Flight again delayed for an hour. So I again have to call Enterprise to ensure my car will be there. Luckily I fly Delta on the way back. My friends told me that I should have known better. They were right. No more chances. Im done with AA. Im not flying for vacations, timeliness is important. I would inderstand one delay but 4 delays and 3 gate changes shows leadership is very poor at AA.

I've visited this campus dropping off or picking up employees. I was given a tour once, and was really impressed by the campus. At the time of my recent visit to the campus, employees were facing quite a challenge with the Max 737s being grounded. Although nearly every customer they spoke to was understandably angry with the situation, every employee I saw remained professional, friendly, and focused on problem solving for each customer's unique situation one at a time.
