The welcome center was very well kempt and had a nice relaxing courtyard to stretch out all the mileage you probably put on getting to it. The facilities were stocked with toiletries and gave the impression those who maintain the grounds care about the image that they project to guests. I did not check out the information building so I can't share much about that.

It's a welcome center in North Carolina. North Carolina tends to have some of the least enthusiastic welcoming centers in the whole nation. I don't know if North Carolina makes anyone feel well, especially the people that live here. LOL. I guess you have to be from North Carolina and live in northglenn. Understand what I'm saying. And I'm sure that it's better than some states. Now back to the welcome center. It was clean well taken care of and it was a good break for us as we've traveled about 400 miles at that point. Don't hesitate to stop and say hello to North Carolina yourself.

It was probably nice. But parking lot was too full for our semi, and with these new E-Log laws we ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE A PLACE TO PARK.

First off, Truckers have to walk the longest distance to the restrooms at this rest stop. Secondly the snack vending machine had 1 dollar as the price for chips and most other items, but when you go to select them or any other item the digital screen says 2 dollars. I had no intention on paying 2 dollars for a bag of chips that you would normally pay 50 to 75 cent for at any convenient store. So I tried to get my dollar back, and the machine only gave me back 50 cents. I was mad. This rest stop is almost as bad as the one I went to in Colorado. That one didn't have running water to wash ur hands in the restroom. It only had hand sanitizer. Smh. As awful as these roads are across the whole nation, they could at least give us a working up to date rest area.

Good rest area and welcome center. Sits up on a hill and has a nice view. If you park in the big truck spaces though be prepared to walk up a decent sized hill to get to the restrooms.

They have all the info and they treat like ya they have known you for ever. So check em out. We stop in there every time we go to N. C.

Everything a traveler could want from the first timer to a seasoned veteran of the roads. The visitors center was staffed by 2 very friendly courteous and knowledgeable ladies that I'm sure the state is grateful to have on board!! I would hire them to work for my company in a heartbeat and make sure they stayed onboard by paying them top dollar! The mineral collection on display was perfect considering I'm a rock hound. This was a business trip but I had already mapped out a few sites that I was going to check out to see if they were going to he productive for future exploration and seeing this impressive display of local rocks and minerals fueled my anticipation. Easy entrance and exit, clean well appointed facilities, welcoming informed staff made this a memorable stop on my trip and we're talking a welcome center. Other business should go there and take notes! Keep up the good work! I'll be sure to stop in whenever my travel provide me the opportunity to be in the area!

Beautiful welcome center with mountain views and lots of land to get out and stretch on. We were here in early spring and it was gorgeous with all of the flowers and mountain trees in bloom. The interior and bathroom were clean and well-kept, and we saw a couple neat-looking lizards around back. Nice place!

Friendly, helpful women staff this center. I signed in on the iPad with my zip code and other pertinent information. Picked up some information about events this Labor Day weekend at the counter. The facility has maps, brochures, and discount coupons. I liked the rocking chairs, local displays, and ability to use their free WiFi. We’d been here before, but I didn’t remember the model train display. I did remember the area for Thomas Wolfe. Outside are vending machines, picnic tables, and lots of places to park & walk beneath beautiful trees. We used the bathrooms, which were clean and well lit. Very nice welcome center! But no free juice, so no fifth star.

The restrooms looked clean and tidy. I took off a star because there is no real designated smoking area and many smokers were standing right outside the restroom doors polluting the air. The way the restroom is situated you had to walk past them to get back to the car.

Although it's called a "Welcome Center" this facility is indistinguishable from an ordinary highway rest area. Overall an attractive facility, buildings and grounds well maintained. Restroom could have been better. Not staffed in the late afternoon or evening. Vending machines not well maintained, tried several machines using dollar bills, they wouldn't accept my money. Then tried using coins in the correct amount and the machines rejected the coins too. Finally tried the credit card readers on two machines, they didn't work. All the vending machines that I tried had electric power and visible merchandise.

This North Carolina Welcome and rest stop is from what I experienced one extremely late night traveling and wanted to rest and use the facility as very clean and it has many vending machines with bottle water,sodas and many different types of snacks.this rest stop is even washed down (hosed down) inside and outside and it is patrolled by the highway trooper so it is safe and clean.Oh! it is also in the Guinness book of world records for the largest bat which happened to crash into an older women's car windshield,but don't let that stop you from getting rest better safe than sorry and their are bat caves in that area for tourists, just not me! THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
