Captain Green was very knowledgeable of the area. He offers to take photos of your experience. He was happy to answer all our questions. The weather was absolutely perfect. It was my first time sailing and I had a great time. Even got to pull up the main sail and steer the boat.

If you are visiting Newport, going on a sail boat cruise is a must and if you decide to do so, I recommend to choose "On Watch Sailing". Sailing with Capitan Green on his yacht "Lyra" was a wonderful experience which I would repeat again!

If you want a custom sailing experience, book your sail here! Captain Green is very experienced at both sailing and the waters and history of this area. We went as a couple to sail and have good time, this exceeded our expectations. My wife and I haven't sailed for years, and to see the joy and excitement on her face as she took the helm made it very special. Though the website can't give you that wind in your face feel, it does a great job explaining what you get.

Great way to celebrate an occasion out on the water. Green is an expert pilot of his charming boat the Lyra, and is also quite knowledgeable about the area. Sailing beautiful Narragansett bay you can learn about the significance of the various landmarks and mansions you see. Reasonably priced, no fuss fun on the water!

What a special day we had on board Lyra with On Watch Sailing. Our friend is getting married in Oct and we wanted to do something different to celebrate the upcoming nuptials. Our "classy bachelorette" party had a nautical theme- a sail in Newport Harbor would be the highlight. Captain Green made us feel right at home on his gorgeous sail boat. He was knowledgeable of the area, and was very flexible- not overdoing the "tour" if we'd rather close our eyes and just listen to the beautiful sounds of the ocean. We thoroughly enjoyed every second of the sail and would highly recommend to anyone looking to be educated about the area, learn a little about sailing - or someone that needs a little "recharge" from their crazy life. Captain Green is a absolute class act, and very professional. He chartered my Girlfriend and I (which is now my fiancé after proposing on his sail boat) on the sunset cruise. The views were beautiful and Green also captured our special moment on camera. Totally recommend if you are in the Newport RI area and are looking for a romantic evening, we certainly are coming back!

Hands down the best private charter you can book. Spent an afternoon on the boat with my husband and 3 young kids. There was a light constant drizzle when we arrived and right off the bat the Captain was quick to offer us a chance to reschedule. We were so looking forward to being on the boat that we didn’t mind a sprinkle. The weather cleared and although the wind was light we managed. Captain Green was so wonderful with our kids, letting them pilot the boat, teaching them knots and encouraged them try “bottle fishing” (a plastic bottle attached to a rope and trolling- who knew it could provide such entertainment!!!!) would absolutely book another charter in a heartbeat. Thank you so much for a great afternoon, it was just what we needed!!!!
