The outfitters did a great job in answering my questions and providing us with the gear we needed for the trip. Be aware of the fact that they do not have any good quality maps for free, so you will need to get those from the parks system (I got mine from Tioga State Forest when I applied for a primitive camp site permit). Overall, however, they have a great system going and I would highly reccomend it to anyone planning on floating and/or float camping on the creek.

We used this outfit to pick us and our bikes up down river at Slate Run and take us up to Ansonia to get on our bikes and ride down river back to our car; this way we could do the ride on our own timing. They were on time for the pickup and took us to the exact drop off point in great time. Offered lots of advice and help with local info as well. Recommended.

Rented a bike and road the beautiful trail where there were formally train tracks. Trail was flat dirt, bikes were hybrids. I did not like riding along a busy highway to get from the office to the trail, but I was not confident because I hadn't ridden a bike in years. Saw a bald eagle. Would enjoy doing it or another activity with them again.

The lady who answered the phone said, "Just get on the internet and find the information." We felt like we didn't matter. But we stopped by anyway to reserve two bikes and a shuttle. The disorganization made for a very negative experience. The same lady tried to do too many tasks at the same time. Again, just plain rude. Any question we asked seemed to irritate and interrupt whatever other job she wanted to do. The two bad interactions soured us on spending any money there. We walked out disgusted. Possitive customer service is essential for a happy customer. If you want to patronize this shop, try to talk to a younger friendlier sales rep.

Staff were friendly and wanted to make sure we had a good time. My family and I took a canoe and kayaks on a 13-mile stretch of Pine Creek (not in the Canyon). It took us about 4 1/2 hours. Scenery was beautiful and the river was easy and safe to navigate with young children. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Lots of items to choose from and the owners are very nice and helpful. Hidden away from most of the world but worth the visit. They also sell maps, and will give you directions to scenic places. They offer canoe/kayak trip/ rentals and bike rentals. They even bus you to the location and pick up later.

This is a FANTASTIC service in the Grand canyon of PA area! We were rookies to the area, although we do trail bike a lot. Their directions, suggestions, and shuttle services were perfect and we felt like they really took care of us this weekend. We had a shuttle ride from 27 miles down the trail to our car in Wellsboro and next day had our car delivered to us 24 miles down the trail so we could head home, allowing us to see 54 miles of the beautiful Pine Creek trail. DEFINITELY DON'T HESITATE TO CALL THEM!!!

Would give them a Zero if I could. Prearranged a shuttle with John. Had previously discussed the logistics of our trip and got approval for it to be dropped after business hours. My friend called the office and paid the 55 dollars. I then emailed the vehicle from to the email provided. Giving them yet another full description of everything they needed to know. After hiking and ending up out to where the vehicle should have been approximately 3 hours earlier than anticipated due to an injury on the trail we didn't see our vehicle Upon calling Pine Creek Outfitters we received an attitude from the girl at the counter. Who then proceeded to ask "Is that the gold Jeep that's just sitting outside?" Then asked where the keys where which was discussed with John by both me and my Friend and was on the email I sent to the email they wanted it sent to. Upon her finally discussing it with someone else she realized she made a mistake and they said it would be down in 45 mins. In the meantime it poured on us. It was obvious that they neglected to check their emails or even wonder why a vehicle was sitting in their front lot that wasn't their when they closed and HAD AN ADDITIONAL VEHICLE FORM ON THE FRONT SEAT! This shows a lack of concern for me or the service we paid for. This also means my vehicle which I left the keys in sat there in their lot unlocked for over 36 hours. Will never use them for shuttle service again. It would be easier to just pay friends or relatives to do this and know it was done correctly. Highly disappointed with the way it was handled.

I have used Pine Creek outfitters to shuttle my personal vehicle on three occasions so that I could backpack the Pine Creek West Rim Trail. They are helpful and friendly and make the hiking or biking experience a joy. For those who want to pedal the 62 miles Pine Creek Trail they offer many different options for your ride. They can also fit you with a bike if you do not own a bike or don't care to carry your bike to the trail. Give them a call. You will not be disappointed.

This review is about the shuttle service my group of 6 contracted for on Saturday, July 13, 2019. We were starting from the Wellsboro trail head of the Pine Creek Trail and requested the shuttle pick us up at Slate Run at 4:30 p.m. First....I have nothing at all bad to say against the driver. He pulled into the Slate Run access point exactly as we were coming in off the trail, and was very efficient in getting our personal bikes loaded in a safe and secure manner. In addition, he was very polite and gregarious, and overall you could tell he enjoyed what he did, and enjoyed meeting us. He let us know that on the ride back, he was scheduled to pick up another four bike riders at the Blackwell access point, and then we were on our way. However, he had not been told that we had started from the Wellsboro trailhead, so explained he would need to drop off the others at the outfitters before delivering us to our cars. But overall, he was polite in his explanation and we accepted that some mistakes happen. However, once we got to Blackwell there were not only the original 4 other passengers, but there were six others as well that were expecting a ride back to the outfitters. The shuttle van was a 12-person maximum occupancy, so obviously we had a problem. When the driver called back to the outfitters and talked to the owner John, John told the driver that there were no other Vans available, or drivers, and that he would need to stuff all 16 passengers, the bikes, and himself onto the van and the trailer. I cannot fathom how the owner felt this was a positive solution to the issue. But not having any choice all of us customers needed to squeeze in and make do. But because of that as well, our stay at Blackwell changed from a 10-minute stop to easily 30 minutes of waiting in the van to proceed. As we then proceeded to the outfitters in an overloaded van which at times seemed to struggle up the hills, we eventually arrived and everyone piled out. After approaching the owner John to explain our group's displeasure, he wrote it off as they had gotten very busy that day and so they had not controlled the situation properly. When I pressed him some more, he explained that this was a normal and expected thing. I asked him whether it was safe, in his eyes, to load that many customers into the vehicle, but he just explained that that's what happened when that situation arose and that's just what he did as an outfitter. Needless to say, as we had already scheduled a shuttle for kayaking the next day, we immediately cancelled that reservation. We then re-boarded a different shuttle van with our original driver for the trip to our starting trailhead, and at least made it there safely, but probably after a 2 to 2 1/2 hour total shuttle time. I believe that Pine Creek Outfitters is one of the only games in town, or maybe even the only game, but I would highly suggest doing your own shuttles if you are ever in the situation. UPDATE - After exchanging some emails with our trip leader, and again hearing our displeasure regarding our shuttle experience and some of the staff, the owner John did apologize for the handling of the shuttle, refunded all of my group the shuttle fee, and promised that this type of event will not happen in the future.

We went up to Wellsboro for a two day business retreat and spent most of our day with these guys. John the owner took us mountain biking, we kayaked the creek and did a 17 mike bike trail on the gorge’s rails to trails. They were affordable and VERY accommodating.

The staff was a blast, and so nice. We rented bikes one day and did a kayak lesson and trip another day. The gorge itself is amazingly beautiful and these guys know every inch like the back of their hand. Plus the shop has everything you could need, including a big dog who loves belly rubs! Highly recommended.

Terrible customer service from the woman who answers the phone. Our car wasn't at the location it was supposed to be when we arrived from our 30 mile hike. I called in using the free phone and she acted like I was inconveniencing her by asking for them to bring my car down (when it should have been there!) Find another shuttle service in the area unless you want to be stranded without a car for over an hour after your 30 mile hike. Also, to the owner, they do have classes that she can take on how to execute proper customer service.

Very helpful place to rent Kayaks. For an appropriate charge they will drive your car down to the take out location so it's all ready to go, just leave The Kayaks and gear there and drive your car away.

We'll definitely come back next time. We had a canoe trip from Gaines. It was supposed to be a 2-3 hour ride back. We paddled to whole time, maybe we were supposed to take it a little easier..either way it only took an hour and a half at the most. Next time we'll have them take us farther up river. But the place is well organized and friendly.

They can assist and have everything you need to make your trip safe and memorable. We just did a family guided raft trip that was fantastic. PCO was friendly and accommodating to make sure that we had enough cold gear for the adventure. Although they can't control the weather they do everything they can to make you comfortable. The pickup crew was waiting at Blackwell when we arrived so the logistics were smooth. We definitely recommend Pine Creek Outfitters!
