I have just returned from my second trip that I have taken with Gate 1 Travel. This trip was the 9 Day Israel - "A Journey for the Believer", truly an experience of a life time. Once again, Gate 1 provided a wonderful travel adventure. The flight arrangements were perfect, the hotels very comfortable, the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and very accommodating. The entire trip was a marvelous experience. I highly recommend Gate 1 Travel to anyone who is seeking a great adventure and who is also searching for reasonable prices.

Our River cruise in Russia was better than we expected. The guides were very informative and spoke English very well. We had ear pieces which made hearing the information very easy. The cruise director was always available with all the information we needed and really kept on top of things. The tours gave us good examples of palaces, churches and museums. We loved being in the small villages and seeing the crafts being made. We wouldn't hesitate to travel with Gate 1 again!

My son, daughter-in-law and myself went on the Gate 1 Travel 8-Day Affordable Italy tour. We could not have been happier. EVERYTHING was wonderful. Litizia, our tour manager was always on top of things, was very knowledgeable and always made herself available around-the-clock if anyone needed her for anything. She made the trip so enjoyable and humorous. All the tour guides were wonderful as well (Peter, Marco and a wonderful woman in Florence. I really apologize for not remembering her name. The food was remarkable, the hotels were lovely and perfectly clean with all the modern facilities. We could not be happier with the entire experience. We just want to go back...it was over too soon. We are already planning our next trip with Gate 1 Travel. Thanks Gate 1!!!

I just returned from a 13 night trip to Costa Rica. This was my third with Gate 1; and it continued to meet the high standards I experienced on the previous trips. Our tour guide was exceedingly knowledgeable and made the trip most memorable. Compared to tours taken by friends through other companies, this trip provided varied, enjoyable outings and was a learning experience as well as a pleasurable and affordable one. The A hotels were exceptional. Overall the value that Gate 1 affords is terrific. I enjoyed getting to see the country, meet interesting travelers and learn so much about the flora and fauna in Costa Rica. I will be planning another trip with Gate 1 for next year.

My wife and I just returned from a Gate 1 Travel tour of Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia and the trip was absolutely fantastic. It seemed that every stop was at a World Heritage Site and the experience with the people of these countries was wonderful. We have been on a number of tours with different companies, but Gate 1 always seems to be a notch higher in quality. The biggest difference that separates them from other professional tour companies is with their tour managers/guides. Our local guides were superior in their service and knowledge, but Tim, our female tour manager, went above and beyond any guide we have ever had. I had an issue with lost medicine, and she moved mountains to locate it and get it returned. She went so far as to accompany us as an advocate/translator to make sure its return went smoothly. Besides her personal concern and care, her humor was a breath of fresh air in a region that can be very hot and humid. She is the best tour guide/manager we have had in our double-digit tour history of travel. Given this type of service, and the fact that Gate 1's rates are very reasonable, it is hard to go wrong with any booking with Gate 1 Travel..

We thoroughly enjoyed the places we visited on our 17 day Central Europe land and river cruise trip. The people on the cruise and from the countries we visited were an experience in themselves. The crew on the ship was fabulous. From the chamber maids to the guys maintaining the ship, we didn't go without what we needed. The food was appropriate for the countries we were visiting and it was plentiful and delicious. The tours were extremely well coordinated and very informative. I will say, there was a lot of walking. We are now looking for our next trip with Gate 1 to Spain in 2015.

We took the 10 day Affordable Croatia and Slovenia tour and truly enjoyed it. The tour bus and accommodations were better than expected, quite comfortable, clean and all the hotels were well situated. The tour manager was friendly, approachable; he kept us all on time; he was extremely knowledgeable, almost encyclopedic, and a local. Our driver was cautious and we always felt safe. The food was good, sometimes even great. The itinerary provided us with a flavour the region and gave us comfort that we could go back by ourselves to enjoy the Adriatic. We will definitely recommend Gate 1 to friends, and we will travel with them again.

I have taken 9 tour packages with Gate1 since 2007(4 to South America, 2 to Asia, 2 to Africa, 1 to Jordan) and I found them all to be very good. The tours were well organized with experienced local tour guides who spoke English well. You see the highlights on each trip as well as have the opportunities to do other things, such as shopping and doing things on your own, Overall, you are getting your money's worth by going with Gate1.

Took the Thailand tour earlier this month and thoroughly enjoyed the trip. It was our first time for having a tour group orchestrate our travel itinerary, but now that we have tried Gate 1 Travel will definitely use them again. The hotels and the tour bus were first class, and the tour guide, Ron, was fantastic. Really glad we took the optional tours of the Palace in Bangkok and Hellfire Railroad. All in all, a great experience, professionally managed.

We just returned from our 12 fabulous day tour of Spain & Portugal. We enjoyed and learned to appreciate the history of these 2 countries great deal. Some of the architectures were amazing how it evolved in the last few centuries. We had an excellent tour manager, he was courteous, a wealth of knowledge of Europe, well spoken & with a bit humor. We were well looked after from the time we landed at Lisbon airport to the day we left Madrid. Base on this great experience with Gate 1, I'll will definitely will choose them again for my next destination.

Took a 10 day tour with Gate 1 to Ireland on 9/28/14. Gate 1 did an exceptional job of organizing the tour and the tour guide, Evelyn was the best! Both she and the bus driver, Brendon did everything to make the trip enjoyable and fun. Rarely do long tours go as planned but this time it went smoothly from the very first event, flight from Atlanta to Dublin to the return trip home. The hotels were all 4 and 5 star. The meals provided were both authentic Irish and good. The stops were well chosen and Evelyn was able to speak to any subject related to Ireland. Her years of experience showed. We took a side trip via rail from Dublin to Belfast to visit the Titanic Quarter (museum). It went smoothly and the museum is a must see for anyone interested in that part of history. We will book with Gate 1 again.

My husband and I recently traveled with Gate 1 to Costa Rica and we loved every minute of it. Our tour guide, Gilbert, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. It was very easy to understand him and he took very good care of all the visitors on our trip. I wish we could have him as a tour guide for future trips to other countries! We had upgraded our hotel package and loved every place we stayed in. Costa Rica is a beautiful country and we're so glad we could experience the culture in an authentic way. We will definitely travel with Gate 1 again.

My wife and I had a wonderful vacation visiting Bangkok, Cambodia and Vietnam(17 days). That was our fourth experience traveling with Gate 1 and everything was above our expectation. Starting with very easy booking process online, choice of hotels and its locations and trip itinerary . Gate 1 takes you places of the beaten track- got a ride on an ox-cart and visited floating fishing villages. A large part of the great experience for the tour can be attributed to very knowledgeable, professional tour guide in Cambodia and Vietnam. We got excellent value for our money spent , I am going to plan my future trips with Gate 1 and recommend it to my friends and family.

My partner and I took the 17 day Cambodia and Vietnam tour recently and enjoyed it very much. Our tour guide (Tu) was very helpful and knowledgeable. The accommodations were all quite good. Beware: even in the "cool" season (November/December) Vietnam can be very hot (85-95 degrees) with very high humidity. Be prepared to sweat a lot, but it is well worth it. Also, be prepared to try eating unusual foods (including tarantula legs!) along with more familiar Southeast Asian cuisine. All in all, a good value for the money.

Traveled to South Africa and Victoria Falls in September 2014 with Gate 1. This is our second adventure with Gate 1 and it, too, was also a great experience. Our guide, Jason, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and made our trip troublefree. Our hotels were first rate with excellent service. Several hotels had wild animal viewing with waterholes on their property. Our itinerary was well planned, allowing for a variety of venues. Not only did we see the expected nature sights, including the Big Five, but saw a wide variety of other animals and magnificent gardens. In addition we had opportunities to experience the varied cultures of South Africa. We also had "free time" to explore on our own. Victoria Falls shouldn't be missed as it is truly one of the natural "wonders of the world." September is a perfect time to visit as the weather was warm and dry. Viewing the animals was enhanced due to minimal foliage at the end of winter. This is a great time to view Victoria Falls due to the lower water flow through the various channels, making for better viewing with minimum water spray interference. We are looking forward to future travels with Gate 1. We've not been disappointed. Highly recommend. Dick and Chris

Had absolutely no trouble with Gate1 what-so-ever. I purchased a voucher for a trip to Milan via living social, which was booked through Gate1. The process was very smooth, hotel was great, and price for airfare and accommodations was AMAZING. The only thing that kept me from giving 5 stars is that the excursions you can book through them are overpriced. This is the case for many companies and if you're the kind of traveler who wants to pay a premium for ease - you can do that. Next time, however, I would plan my own excursions to save money.

11 Day Italian Romantic Tour was fantastic. With Fabio as our tour guide, he added all of his Italian knowledge and insight to this tour. Starting at Lake Como and seeing the country as we traveled to Milan, Venice, Florence and finally to Rome. Gate 1 does an excellent job with quality hotels very close to the main attractions. we felt safe at night in these neighborhoods during the day and early evening. Their selection of local guides were very good, the group meals were all wonderful. Food was abundant at every meal, and was a variety and sample of Italian cuisine. Wine servings with the meal were all excellent varietals. Gate 1 does an excellent job of offering optional tours and ample leisure time for personal shopping and sight seeing. With the headset, we were able to view the sights without needing to be right under the guide speaking. Gate 1 arrangements keep you in the "happy line" which eliminates waits at all the major venues and was definitely a perk of the trip. We would definitely recommend this tour and Gate 1 to anybody considering a trip to Italy.

My husband and I recently returned from our 10 day tour of Costa Rica. It was a wonderful trip in every respect. The country is beautiful and abounding in all the best Mother Nature has to offer in scenery, plants, animals - and the people are wonderful, too. One of the things we always love about Gate 1 tours is how much we learn about the places we visit. My sister and I recently returned from a wonderful trip to Iceland with Gate 1. The trip was smooth and well-organized, the tour guide was friendly and well-informed, and the hotel was great and centrally located. It's difficult to travel in Iceland during the winter time, but Gate 1 was prepared. The tour guide even had crampons and reflective arm bands for everyone! Our trip to Iceland was both affordable and fantastic - who can ask for more?

The country itself is beautiful these pictures you see of green landscape is all abound. The host Director Marie was wonderful she made sure everyone was happy and content. I just came back from an independent trip to Paris & London booked with Gate 1 Travel and I have to say that as a travel agency, Gate 1 exceeded my expectations. First, just knowing that I have the flexibility to book my vacation and pay for it as I can is one of the best features of Gate 1 Travel. Add to that the fact that besides the air travel, I get to choose various hotel options, include tours, transportation shuttle and travel insurance as well. Last year I used Gate 1 for an escorted tour to Italy and was very happy with the results. This year, I decided to book with them again but as an independent traveler. I was a bit worried since Gate 1 would only book my trip. I thought maybe they would not give me the personal attention as with an escorted tour but I was wrong. The airline reservations and the hotel accommodations, as well as, the shuttles to and from the hotel and airport, were all handled very well. Just when I thought that Gate 1 was done with us they surprised us again. We had a connecting flight to London from Paris through Air France. In the midst of the Air France strike, Gate 1 made sure to accommodate us in another flight with no problems on our behalf. Gate 1 made sure that I was aware of the change by voice mail, email and hotel voice message as well. I did not even notice that there was a strike but Gate 1 Travel made sure that our trip was a wonderful one. I am definitely going to continue to book my trips through Gate 1 Travel.

Gate 1 Travel: 16 day Italy with 7 day Western Med Cruise My daughter and I enjoyed this vacation booked through Gate 1 Travel this past July, and it was absolutely one of the most enjoyable vacations I have ever had. The booking process was very simplified, as Gate 1 representative customized the trip to add a few extra days in Istanbul, Turkey on our way home, as well as making sure we had the cabin and deck we requested on the cruise and the preferred seats on each flight. The Italy ground tour was fabulous, as the English speaking guide was so knowledgeable and made the day exciting and educational. One of the things I appreciate most about Gate 1 is that the luggage has porter service at each hotel, so we are not struggling with baggage at hotels and buses, and a minimum at airports. The hotels we stayed in were first class, 5-star elegant and the meals provided through the tour were excellent. We also received good recommendation from each local guide of places to go to eat and sight see when we had free time, which helped tremendously in cities we were not familiar with. The Norwegian Epic cruise was nice as well, with stops in France, Spain, and Southern Italy. We had a balcony, which made that portion of our vacation much more enjoyable. This is my second trip with Gate 1, and I have recommended it to many friends and family, as well as I have already booked two more vacation in 2015 with Gate 1 Travel. I look forward to the same excellent customer service and vacation planning I have experience the past two trips.

On the occasion that I don't travel solo, I've had mixed luck with travel agencies. Gate 1 is always a good choice. While the demographics of people isn't a wide spread (I'd love more people my age), they are always organized, on time, and provide exactly what they say they will. The guides are knowledgeable and easy to talk to. If I want to take a trip with several people and we don't have time to plan out all the details, Gate 1 is a wonderful option. Everyone is happy!

Just returned from a 12-day tour of the Baltic States, including Poland, with Gate 1. The guide, Agnes, was superb! Very knowledgeable and organized and showed leadership skills. Hotels were all wonderfully located, steps from the old towns, easy to explore during free time. Balance of guided time and free time was excellent. To cover this territory in 12 days, the most efficient way is with a guided tour, with 2 nights in each of Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius, Warsaw and Krakow. This tour was truly a bargain--with 1st class flavor.

My husband and I recently used Gate 1 to travel to Columbia. We are experienced travelers and we usually travel solo, but the price for this particular trip was too good to pass up. Our experience with Gate 1 was even better than we anticipated. The hotels were excellent, as were the guides. We were delightfully surprised to find that we enjoyed every person on our tour (and there were 30). Our fellow travelers were curious about the world, interesting, patient and had great senses of humor. The trip was great, but it was on the return home that we found out how excellent Gate 1's customer service really was. Our flight home from Bogota was delayed 6 hours, due to mechanical issues. While the airline (LAN) took care of us, giving us hotel rooms and food for the day, Gate 1 took that a step further. A local representative of Gate 1 showed up at the hotel and offered to take anyone interested to the local botanical gardens. Walking in a beautiful garden with Nadia was much better than hanging out in a hotel. In addition, Gate 1 arranged a private shuttle for us to return to the airport. I was impressed. We'll be using Gate1 again.

The 10 day China trip with Gate 1 Travel was awesome! The hotels were good, esp. the one in Shanghai (Bund Riverside) due to its central location, the tour guides were very helpful. We had a great time, even for some of us that have visited China many times. We specifically liked the open schedule where you could book your own tours, allowing us much flexibility. This was our second time using Gate 1 Travel and would love to come back again.

This past January I travelled with Gate 1 to Cambodia and Vietnam. I enjoyed the tour very much. I wanted to see how Vietnam has changed since the American army left in 1975. I was not disappointed as the tour gave opportunities to see some of the old American army bases and structures. But of course the focus was on Vietnamese sights, culture and religious historical buildings. As for Gate 1, I think the tour was well organized, with excellent hotels, good transport, and interesting sights. also, the meals were good. Our tour manger was a lovely person, caring for all of our needs and concerns, and had a wealth of knowledge about everything in and about Vietnam. I recommend Gate 1 to everyone as a high value, low cost way to see the world.

My wife and I Just returned from Cuba. It was a terrific trip and a great group of fellow travelers. The guides, Daniel Guzman and Andy Richard were the best. Hotel accommodations were excellent. We enjoyed seeing the countryside, and visiting cultural sites on our, so-called, "People to People" tour. I left hoping that the American embargo will eventually be lifted for the sake of all, but especially for the Cuban people.

My husband and I just completed our third tour with Gate 1 Travel. This time we went to Ireland. Our past tours were to Turkey and Israel. As in our past experiences Gate 1 provided us with a wonderful experience. This began with our travel agent Judith who also helped us with our previous tours. Linda, our guide in Ireland was top notch. She was extremely pleasant, informative, and always helpful. Our bus driver was competent and courteous. The hotels we stayed at were clean, comfortable and in very desirable locations in terms of getting around when we had free time. The food was excellent (several choices were available at each meal). The sites we visited were great and they afforded us a fulfilling opportunity to become familiar with this beautiful country. We will definitely continue to use Gate 1 as our primary touring company

My girlfriend and I recently went on a 5 day trip to Iceland. It was a very well organized and stress-free trip. We were able to see the sites of Reykjavik on our own and with the group as well as venture out to see the Northern Lights at night. We enjoyed the ease of finding all of our lodging and transportation and the great communication and timeliness of our Gate 1 Guide in Iceland. I would definitely repeat this trip in the future as well as look into booking our next adventure with Gate 1 Travel.

My wife and I visited Australia and New Zealand on a Gate1 tour in October 2014. We had a fantastic trip - enjoyed everything but the 14 hour flights. Our tour guide (David Hill) in New Zealand was truly outstanding. His knowledge of New Zealand, it's history, and all the cities we visited was just fantastic. I have traveled with this company 3 times now! I love this company! The tour guides are great and let you know the culture and history of the country you visit! I traveled with them to Peru ,China, Egypt. Each one was amazing. The guides are very helpful personal and the last day has been so sad. Gate 1 does a wonderful job on who they hire as a guide. You can really tell that they have a passion and love for their country and love to share that with the gusts on the tour!

Our GATE1 experience on the recent 11 day-Guatemala/Honduras tour was quite good. Our guide, Tony, was informative and affable. The locations were varied and interesting. All the hotels were clean and the staff members at each place were friendly and helpful. We spent a lot of time on the bus a couple of days; those could have been broken up into smaller pieces, but the end results were fine. More time in Antigua would have been a nice treat. All-in-all: a good experience.

Spectacular Tour of Costa Rica My husband and I had been on a tour to Costa Rica in 2014 and returned again in 2015 this time with Gate 1 Travel. The Gate 1 Travel was far superior. The tour guide, Edgardo Hidalgo, was excellent: both knowledgeable, caring, positive and with a great enthusiasm that filled us all. The hotels were excellent. They were in locales where animals such as monkeys and exquisite birds abounded. We paid a stipend for better hotels and they were impressive, but we noticed that the hotels for the others were fine too. The meals were delicious with plentiful food. The daily itinerary was fun and the optional trips were incredible with great photo opportunities. Serendipitously, the people on the tour were all friendly and the group meshed well. I would highly recommend Gate 1 Travel to anyone looking for a good tour company. My husband and I are already planning some new adventures with them. You can't get better praise than that.

Just completed a Gate1 tour of Portugal and Spain. The hotels were all 4 star and in great locations. The itinerary provided an opportunity to see all the major cities and attractions. Also included side trips to the Rock of Gibraltar and Morocco. The tour director was wonderful. She had extensive knowledge of all the cities on the tour.

We enjoyed the trip to Vietnam with Gate 1 very much. My husband had been there 45 years ago under very different circumstances and for a long time had wanted to go back to see what the country looked like now. The changes are amazing and very impressive. We had expected lots of development in Saigon, but Hanoi was the real surprise with new apartment and office buildings, hotels and shopping everywhere. Vietnam is definitely a country on the rise, fascinating and beautiful as well. This was our second trip with Gate 1 and both could not have been better. From leaving home to returning, everything came off just as advertised. Our tour guide, Tran, was excellent, knowledgeable, good-natured, patient and conscientious. Good food, very good hotels, worthwhile optionals, very good value for money. A fine trip overall, and we will be traveling with Gate 1 again for sure.

We recently toured Ireland with Gate 1 and it was a marvelous experience! The country is beautiful and people friendly. The places visited are interesting, historical and beautiful. The tour guide was most excellent and made the trip enjoyable-she was very pleasant, quite knowledgeable about history and economics, and entertaining. She even sung us Irish songs! I recommend Gate 1 tremendously and visiting Ireland. We are traveling in 2015 with Gate 1 to Peru.

BEWARE! I booked a trip to China over the phone and was told it was totally refundable and turns out it isn't! You can apply that money to another trip which I did but had to pay another 100 , a trip I really did not want to take and really could not take due to family circumstances. Well it was getting close to the date and before I knew it the trip was cancelled and no longer appears on my webpage! I am getting empty notifications about the trip - so 700 dollars wasted - DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!

I just came back from my first Gate1 tour (8 days & 6 nights in Budapest, Prague, & Vienna) and had an excellent trip. The Gate 1 guide, Derek, made sure everything went smoothly and did a wonderful job of escorting us through all the different cities. The local guides provided good overviews of each city. The hotels we stayed at were well located, and provided good service and accommodations. I am looking forward to my next Gate 1 tour next month (5 days in Iceland).

We took the 10-day affordable trip to Peru and we had an amazing time! Our tour guide, Julio, was extremely knowledgeable and funny. All of our transportation was clean and timely. All of our hotels were in great areas so there wasn't a single time that we felt unsafe. Would definitely use Gate 1 for any future travels!

I have used Gate 1 travel for years as well as recommended it as a reputable travel company, yet now I see why Gate 1 has a B rating with Better Business Bureau. I purchased a package trip to Dubai for October 2017 with airport to hotel transfers. Once my travel docs were ready, I do not have airport pickup as I am arriving one day early. It has never been a problem with Gate 1 before as I arrived on a Gate 1 Japan and Peru trip one day early and had transport to the hotel. But Gate 1 states they do not have "travel arrangements" to transfer me to the hotel one day early which is rather odd as they are a TRAVEL COMPANY. I had two trips in planning to Africa and India with Gate 1 but will find a more reputable company that truly "values customers" as they so proudy state.

Our July 2014 12 days classic Vietnam trip was wonderful, Gate 1 really nailed it. We loved every bit of it; our Tour manager Tho was excellent. He really worked hard to make sure every little detail of the tour went smoothly. Which left us no worries at all but to just enjoy every minute of our time in Vietnam. I've spoken to other group members individually, and everyone seems very happy as well. All in all, we really loved it. Hope to rejoin Gate 1 for our next trip.

We traveled to China with Gate1, this was not our first trip with Gate1. As usual, the trip was organized extremely well, the personnel was very helpful and knowledgeable, the itinerary was very interesting. We liked China for its blend of modern and ancient, one thing that could be improved on would be to spend more time in Shanghai. On the included river cruise on the Yangtze the service was exceptional but the boat itself could be use renovations. Our reservation was made through a travel agent and the trip back was not disclosed to us in details until we got the travel documents. It ended up being a 2-stop flight and it took us almost 27 hours to get back home.

October was the perfect time for Spain, Portugal and Morocco with Gate1 Travel The weather was perfect, well maybe a shower or two, but every thing the Gate1 team had control of was perfect. Our guide and driver worked together to make sure our time was well spent. Cilia was one of the most efficient and conscientious individual and guides I have ever met. Our hotels were so well located that walking to attraction was a breeze or if more distant destinations were desired, the subway was easily accessible. The itinerary was well planned. The food was delicious especially the wonderful breakfasts that were included. (Think Spain and fresh fruit and fresh pastries.) Gate 1 is a wonderful and consumer friendly organization to work with. They are my fave!!!

Never traveling with them again. I have done multiple trips with them, but the last one left such a bad taste in my month, I refuse to go with them again and highly advise others not to book with them. I booked a trip with them that included flights using their website. Two days later, I receive a call that the return flight that was shown to me was on the penultimate night listed on trip schedule and I would therefore need to change it: $50 fee from Gate 1, $150 fee for the airline (since it was over 24 hours since the flight booking, it was 150). I was confused: your website generated incorrect information to me and now you are going to charge ME for it? The service rep spoke to her supervisor for one second and said they could waive the $50 but not the 150. I was in the middle of an extremely busy work day and reluctantly said fine, even though I knew it was wrong. Months go by, I go on the trip, I return. There were no activities planned on the "last day" listed on the itinerary or on the evening before. I once again voice my concern upon returning in an email. I get a short response which ends with "That being said, we are unable to provide the requested refund." (To be clear, I never outright requested a refund in my email. Just wanted to them to acknowledge that THEY were the ones at fault and it was poorly handled by them from beginning to end. And with their response, they reaffirmed this.) Look elsewhere if you want to travel and not be scammed by Gate 1.

We just returned from Gate 1, seven day trip to Dubai, My Wife and I truly enjoyed every moment of the trip. The staff at Gate 1 were the most professional we have encountered in a very long time. The entire process from start to finish went smooth and flawless. The location of the hotel and the fact the it was brand new made the experience outstanding. The food, at breakfast and special dinners were great. The tour guide as well as all on site Gate 1 personnel were very knowledgeable and no question went unanswered. This is my first time I use Gate 1 Travel for trip to India, a 10-day New Delhi-Jaipur-Agra. Overall the trip was pleasant. Unfortunately, along the trip, the guide keeps spreading misinformation and false accusation toward Islam and Muslims. I believe this is just his personal opinions. But spreading this kind of information to tourists who just want to enjoy the beauty of India is unacceptable. If he want to spread and express his hatred and anger toward Islam and Muslims, this is not the place to do.

This is the first time we have ever taken a guided tour and we were a little bit apprehensive. Gate 1 took care of everything in both Israel and Jordon. The transfers went smoothly. The tour guides were excellent and very informative of all history in both countries and answered all of our questions. Their English was excellent and they took care of every need anyone had. The hotels were very good to excellent. The tours of all historical areas were great, and made very interesting with the knowledge given by the tour guides. The tour bus drivers were very courteous and safe. We felt very safe and we even had an armed tourist policeman on the bus for the whole trip through Jordan. After this one experience with Gate 1, we have already recommended the Israel/Jordan trip to other friends and relatives. We are extremely pleased with our experience.

After detailed review of various travel offers and tour packages offered to us, we decided to take Gate 1 14-day Classic Greece and Istanbul with 6 day Aegean cruise tour. We completed our tour last week and needless to say it was fabulous. This was by far the best tour we have taken. We travel often and once a year we take a long vacation outside the country. We have traveled with various tour companies offering similar tour packages but this was by far the best. We were travelling with one other couple and we all had very good time. The destination, the service on see and land, and tour guides were all very professionally handled. The price was also very affordable. I would recommend Gate 1 travel to anyone without any hesitation. Keep up the good work!

We used Gate 1 to travel to Iceland using one of the Living Social travel deals. Everything went well with the trip and booking was done well. Beware of costs that aren't relayed in the package. Gate 1 booked the one fare on Icelandair without a checked bag! The checked bag costs $69 each way. The airline also does not include food on the 6 hour flight and no breakfast was included the day of arrival. Airport transfers were also not included and the airport is 40 minutes away from the hotel. Departure airport was also listed on the package as New York but upon booking it was out of Newark NJ and extra to fly out of NY. Other agencies I've traveled with include these basic items and are more transparent with their bookings and will be using those moving forward for those reasons.

Suzy, our Tour Guide in Italy, met us at the airport in Venice and from day one to the final day in Rome, made sure everything went smoothly for us. I booked the 9 Day Classic Italy for my grandson and me. From beginning to end, Gate 1 was organized, helpful and it made our whole trip extremely enjoyable and stress-free. We were picked up at the airport and taken to our hotel. This is always great when you are visiting a new country. We stayed at three different hotels - all of them were different but equally great. Our tour guide Michaela was informative, fun and gave us great advice for our free time. She always gave us tips on where we could find the best deals according to our budget. The places she picked for our included dinners were fun and diverse, one had opera singers and two other places were set in wineries. She was like our "mother" the whole time, she put in wake up calls for us, made sure everyone was where they were supposed to be and reminding us about our cell phones, packages, etc. When she send us off to the airport from Venice in a water taxi, she had some waiting for us on at the airport and she called to make sure we had arrived and were waiting at the correct departure area! The local tour guides were wonderful - Francesco in Rome was particularly fun. He was so knowledgeable and funny - even my grandson was paying attention and learning all about the history of Rome. I will certainly recommend Gate 1 to my friends and family; especially when traveling to a new country where one may have a language barrier. My next stop will be Spain and I am planning on traveling with Gate 1 again.

I was at the impression that my hotel room was already reserved, but to my surprise, there's no reservation done. The customer service representative I talked to was rude and unapologetic. A Great Travel Company I must have taken at least half-a-dozen trips with this Company, all over the world, and almost each time they've exceeded my expectations. I had to learn what to expect as a difference between "fully escorted" and "independent" tours and "regular" and "small group" tours but I have to admit that in each category of tours offered the service it at the highest comparative level for that class. I also appreciate their wide variety of offers for visit activities. I like very "full" tours, where the add-ons offered exceed the time available. That way, I can be sure that I will never get bored - evidently, I am the tourist that visits everything rather that the kind that looks for a relaxed, on the beach, "restful" vacation. I want to learn and see as much as humanly possible and Gate 1 offers me all I can handle. Their guides are the best in the business and their tours are organized with military precision. Price-wise, the detailing the price breakdown for flight, accommodation, add-on visits, etc., allows for a very clear and complete image of the total costs likely to be incurred. And again, in competition with other travel agencies, Gate 1 comes on top. Often times, they negotiate or take advantage of special airfares and the client gets the savings. Admirably honest. My husband and I took the 16 day Classic Thailand with Phuket tour recently and enjoyed it very much. It's also very well organized. Our tour guide (Oh) was simply wonderful, very helpful, knowledgeable and fun. Hotels are very good. All historic sites that we visited worth to see. By the group request Oh took our group to see White Temple that wasn't on the list, and it definitely was the highlight of that day. I wonder why it was removed from the itinerary. Visiting elephant camp was so much fun. All in all I can highly recommend traveling with Gate1.

I scheduled this Gate 1 10 day Peru tour based on a family member’s satisfactory experience with a Gate 1 European tour. The 10 day Peru tour was wonderful- efficiently and professionally run, interesting sights, great accommodations and transportation, and most of all the best guides. All local guides were competent in their knowledge of their domain and in their command of English, but most impressive was Edgard Figueroa, our guide, friend, teacher and physician throughout the 10 days. I peppered him with questions that he never seemed to tire of answering and when I was ailing from a stomach problem, he produced just the right pill that cured me within 30 minutes. The tour was not at a leisurely pace, and I am of retirement age, but it was very manageable with more rigorous days alternating with more leisurely days. On the basis of this tour, my first Gate 1 tour, I would be happy to book another.

The booking process was incredibly easy, the cancellation process has been the furthest thing from it. Unfortunately I needed to cancel my trip as a death in my family has resulted in not having enough vacation time to take the trip as planned. I understand that there are cancellation penalties and I am not eligible for a full and complete refund. My agitation is with the cancellation process itself. I submitted a cancellation request through their website, a day later I received an email advising me that cancellations actually have to be handled by calling the office. I called the office, provided my information and was then told that cancellation requests actually had to be submitted via their website. When I advised the representative that I had already done so and proceeded to read them the email I had received from their company telling me to call the office I was placed on a 10 minute hold. When the representative returned she asked me to submit my request through the website a second time. At this point the representative claimed that perhaps my request had not been received because their website had been down. They did not explain how I would have been able to submit my request or recieve an email response if their website had been down and my request not been received. I was advised that she could see my second request had been received and that I would receive notice that my cancelation had processed the next day (yesterday). I have not received any such notice. I responded to the email telling me to call in and the response I received there was that while cancellation requests do have to be submitted online they also have to be called in so that I can be advised of the terms of cancellation. At this point I have no idea who to believe from this company as there have been contradictions at every turn.

The Gate 1, 15 day Ecuador and Galapagos cruise was the best trip I've taken. I highly recommend visiting Ecuador, it has a lot to offer. The Santa Cruz ship was run like a well oiled machine. The food was excellent, the cabins were very clean, the naturalist guides were very experienced and went out of their way to make sure the wildlife experience was amazing. In particular, our guides Fabian and Lola were fantastic, they had a wealth of knowledge regarding the wildlife, geology, plants, marine life, and etc. All of the ship personnel worked very hard to make this a pleasurable experience. It's a very well run ship, and everyone worked very hard to make sure we had a great time. The land part of Ecuador was equally amazing. Our guide Alfredo was excellent. His English is perfect, and he worked hard to make the tour fantastic for us. The volcanos, hot springs, Amazon jungle, hacienda, and Quito were wonderful. I couldn't have asked for a better trip. Go see Ecuador!

My daughters and I recently traveled to Greece, including the Classical Greece tour, with Gate 1. The hotels and food were amazing! Our tour guide, Eugenia, was lively and incredibly knowledgeable about the geography, history, architecture, and art all over the country. We enjoyed little "extras" like wine and olive oil tasting, explanations of Byzantine iconic art, and Greek music and dancing. It was so nice to have all the major details worked out by someone else. My daughters and I could focus on where we wanted to shop and what restaurants we wanted to try. We had so much fun that we can't wait to go back!

I'm currently sitting in the waiting area of the hotel I booked 8 months ago after being told that there are no rooms under my reservation. The hotel even showed us that Gate1 just RECENTLY in June attempted to make our reservation even though we paid for it last November. After the hotel manager was unable to get a hold of gate1 my husband was able to and we were basically told nothing by Chris the customer rep we were on the phone with. Chris was extremely rude and condescending and asked why he was even on the phone with us anymore if there was nothing he could do. We were outraged & asked to speak to his manager! He said he would be at work for another 8 hours and proceeded to put us on hold. I think the hotel took pity on us (seeing that I was 5 months pregnant) and were able to give my husband, mother, and I a room from a recent cancelation. Gate 1 told us we should be greatful and that we didn't pay for rooms because of the bedding. On another note we contacted Gate1 4 days ago on another issue and we have yet to hear back about it. Save yourself the stress and book through someone else! Update: currently trying to get to the airport to go home. The transfer I booked and paid for through gate1 says that I must confirm with them a pick up time yet the numbers do not work. Our front desk even tried and is telling us it's a fake number. Update: After a month of back a forth emails Gate 1 will not refund anything to us because the "goods were used". In this case, we had a place to stay in a foreign country after being told we had no reservation and being embarrassed, stressed, and stranded in a hotel lobby. They have offered us a $75 credit per person, and in all honesty who would want to be put through this again?! The hotel offered to refund $250 to us, but Gate1 says that because reservations are done through a third party we are unable to receive that. Something tells me they are just keeping this money. As for their rude customer service representative they have forward complaint to his general manager... I will say this again. Save yourself the money, time, frustration and just overall rudeness and lack of professionalism and BOOK THROUGH SOMEONE ELSE!

My husband and I recently returned from a Fall Colors Tour with Gate1 Travel. We toured MA, NH & VT. The tour was extremely well organized. Our tour guide, Cathy, was a wealth of knowledge and made the trip fun. We were also fortunate to have a wonderful bus driver, Bill. He has lived in Massachusetts his whole life and knew some hidden "special" places. This was our first Gate1 trip and it won't be our last. You get a lot of value for your money compared to other travel companies.

Traveled to Cuba with Gate 1 on their People to People tour this past Christmas. It was one of the best trips. The tour guide Daniel was amazing. He was organized, friendly and very patient. Our local tour guide Ramiro was very knowledgeable of Cuba past and present with a good sense of humor. We had many interactions with Cubans from chefs and restaurant owners, to people in a nursing home, children in an after school center, artists, musicians and more. In addition my husband and I walked the streets of Havana on our own. People were friendly and were very interested in life in the United States. On the tour we had many excellent meals that represented the best of the Cuban cuisine. And some really great pizza from a local restaurant in Havana where the Cuban cook and an Italian cook worked together. Our days were filled with activities and all our many questions were answered. On New Year's Eve our tour guide, Daniel and some in our group went to a restaurant in Old Havana Square to bring in the New Year. We enjoyed a show and smoked Cuban cigars!! If you have the opportunity this is a trip that should no be missed.

My husband I were able to travel with Gate 1 tour group to Italy. It was a once in a life time experience and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable of the areas we visited along with the life style of the people. We met new friends which was an added bonus as well. Preparation for the trip was made much easier by the agents who helped reserve our tour. We would recommend Gate 1 to others who are planning a trip.

Discovery Tour - Illustrious France with Gate 1 My husband and I just came back from our Discovery tour (small group) of Illustrious France with Gate 1. We had a great time. I recently took the trip to Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Words allude me, but I will try: insightful, rewarding, educational, beautiful, spectacular, unbelievably awesome! From the moment we (I put together a group of 5) landed, we were taken care of with the utmost kindness and professionalism. Our guides, bus drivers, helpers were all considerate of our needs, our many questions, our special requests. They were definitely a major part of the Gate 1 family in helping us have the ultimate experience, whether it was a tour, or shopping, or a massage. Our hotels were beyond anything I have stayed in stateside (spacious, clean rooms with a view) Our hotel breakfasts were to my liking, containing a large variety of local and American foods presented beautifully. A highlight of this itinerary were the many opportunities to go out into the countryside and meet the villagers, see their way of life, and to walk in their footsteps (on occasion) ex. making our own Thai pancake And eating it. We gained a better understanding of this part of the world while entertaining sensitive questions about America's involvement in the Vietnam conflict. My mother and I recently took a 10 day tour of Ireland with Gate 1. Mom had always travelled with a more expensive company and was reserving her opinion until after the tour was over. When you get a great deal on something, it hard not to have doubts. Although I had never traveled with Gate1, my best friend had, and the deal we got for our recent trip to Europe (The Netherlands, Belgium, and France) was irresistible. I figured they cut costs by having the bare minimum in transportation, guides, and accommodations, but I could not have been more wrong. The accommodations were fantastic. In each city, they seemed to get better and better. The hotel staff was helpful, friendly, and well organized. The hotels were centrally located, within walking distance of major tourist attractions, and in safe areas. Our couch driver and guide were both experienced, well-spoken (in up to 7 languages), and very friendly. Not only had they been there for a long time, but they clearly loved what they do. They were detail-oriented and kept us on our schedule. One of the greatest parts of this tour was that it appealed to people from all over the country with varying levels of comfort traveling. We covered coast-to-coast in state representation, and everyone came with a different story. Don't let the cost deter you---there is no catch. It is a great deal with quality service. Happy travels!

My wife and I recently returned from a Gate1 Japan Here and Now trip their small group, more expensive tour promising "discovery". The Tour Guide was lazy and inept,failing to share or explain history, culture or the sites we were visiting. Could have done better on my own with a guide book We learned nothing from our trip except what we Googled on our own..Complaining to Gate 1 after returning with several emails back and forth resulted in a final offer from them of $200 per person off my next booked trip. My trip cost over $10,000 and left us heartbroken Poor customer satisfaction response and will never book another trip with them. As a Travel Agent with Global Travel International I will be sharing this with over 20,000 Agents advising them not to book with Gate1. .

The money we paid for the service was well worth. They provide us ample supply of bottle water which we didn't have to shop and carry them around. I recently went on a trip with Gate 1 to Greece and they did such an amazing job! Our tour guide Elena was so sweet and full of information about all the sites. They made our trip so enjoyable because of all it included. I almost feel like I underpaid because of the hotels I stayed in and all the things the tour included. When me and my friend lost our passports and money, the bus driver took a taxi with us to the site to help us find it and then refused tip money I offered him. I cannot express how great they made the trip and I will be booking more with them.

This is a review of the Affordable Spain 10 day tour that we took in Late November and Early December 2014. Our trip was excellent in almost all regards. Our tour leader managed the tour and made sure that everyone (40 people) was accounted for and gave advice for our leisure time in the various cities. We had local tour guides in Madrid, Toledo, Granada, Seville, Cordoba and Barcelona. These local guides were excellent except for the Barcelona guide, who just wanted to get the tour over with. The mix of knowledgeable local tour guides and approximate 1/2 day free time in the various cities led to a comfortable pace for all. You could do as much or as little as you wanted in your free half day. Hotels were generally good, but noise was a factor in some of the hotels. There were three group dinners included with two being very good and one just average. The use of the radio "whispers" made it easy to hear the tour guides even when not next to them enhancing the experience. This was our second Gate 1 tour. We have been satisfied on both of our tours and would recommend Gate 1 to our friends.

My recent ‘6 Day Florida with Key West’ trip with Gate 1 Travel was a very nice experience. The tour group included 10 travelers, all very nice people, two excellent tour guides and a very professional bus driver. The highlights were the air boat ride in the Everglades and the tour of Key West, which provided the opportunity to visit the Hemingway house. Two places, which I would have missed had I traveled alone, were the ‘Robert Is Here’ fruit stand in Homestead and the Coral Castle in Florida City. Both these places tell a very interesting story. The sightseeing in Miami and South Beach was also interesting. The two hour stop at the Lincoln Street shopping mall less so. This was my 3rd trip with Gate 1 and, again, they delivered above expectations.

Generally happy with the tour experience, but Gate 1 fails dismally in fulfilling their promise to assist you in resolving problems with their vendors (those places your bus stops and you are forced to spend time in unless you sit on the bus). We were a party of 10 people traveling on the 9 Day Affordable Amsterdam, Bruges, Paris and London tour last month. Unfortunately our plane was delayed departing from Philadelphia so we arrived late to the Amsterdam airport. We went to the designated spot to find our shuttle but there was no one there so we called the phone numbers Gate1 provided. No one answered so we were forced to take a taxi to the hotel. Gate1 refuses to reimburse us for the taxi ride so please be aware that if your flight is delayed you will be stranded at the airport.

10 days Classic Ecuador and Amazon Adventure was my first trip with Gate 1. This was a great experience. Every stage of the trip went perfect and enjoyable. Even the weather was cooperating. My trip was May 29-June 7, most of the time the weather was nice and comfortable with some little rains. Each hotel was great and the next one was even better. I loved the itinerary that included not only site seeing but also historical and cultural highlights as well as interaction with local people and communities. Our tour manager Alfredo Carrera made our tour very special. His amazing knowledge in history and natural science, enthusiasm, kindness, great personality and sense of humour, together with an excellent tour itinerary, made our tour an amazing and unforgettable experience. Our bus driver Luis Acosta was a great driver and very pleasant person, and made our bus rides safe and comfortable. All the personnel working for our tour in Ecuador were very pleasant, very helpful and very well organized. I will definitely consider Gate1 tours for my future travel plans and recommend Gate 1 Travel to my friends.

My sister and I just returned from an 11-day Scandinavia trip with Gate1 Travel. We had a wonderful experience visiting Norway, Sweden and Denmark. The scenery was breathtaking. We felt very safe with our bus driver on the hairpin mountain roads as well as in city traffic. The flight to and from Scandinavia on Delta was comfortable. Although Ecuador is difficult to navigate due to its country roads the tour remained interesting, educational and fun. I just got back from a trip to Spain and cruise that I booked through Gate1. I have to say it was one of the best vacations I've ever had. The hotel in Barcelona was clean and very central, it was easy to get around from there as there is a Metro station right outside. The bus Gate1 arranged to take us from the hotel to the port was on time, the driver was very professional in appearance and demeanor. The cruise itself was so much fun! Also I'm very impressed with the airlines Gate1 booked for our flights. And everything was so much more affordable than if I had tried to cobble it together myself. Went to Costa Rica for seven days over Thanksgiving 2014 with Gate 1 Travel. Perfect combination of nature, fun, interesting accommodations, along with a feeling of safety and attention by the guide. Gate 1 allows you to do everything, or just a few things - your choice. The same setup on meals. There is freedom at the bus stops to see the village church, eat locally by yourself, and talk to the locals. This was my fourth trip with Gate 1 and I love not being over-scheduled. My friend Barbara and I returned recently from a glorious tour of Croatia/Slovenia with Gate 1. The 11-day trip exceeded our expectations. We stayed in 4-Star hotels in each city, had a wonderful tour guide, Jon, who spoke excellent English, was knowledgeable of the different country's history and was very patient with all of us. We rode from town to town on a modern tour bus with an excellent driver. Delicious breakfasts were provided each day as well as several lunches and dinners. The weather was ideal and warmer than normal, so we were able to enjoy the marvelous sights that each city, including Split, Dubrovnik, Zagreb and Bled provided. This was second tour with Gate 1 Travel, and I will gladly recommend them to my friends and family for their excellence in handling the reservations and removing much of the stress of traveling.

We recently went on the Gate 1 Kaleidoscope tour of Ecuador. It was a fantastic way to experience the country for the first time. We had a wonderful guide, Wilson, and great hotels. We also had a terrific group of fellow travelers. I was surprised that, in a few short days, total strangers became friends. This was our first trip to Central America, but definitely not our last. We enjoyed the beauty of the flowers, the rain forest, and the countryside. Everyone we met was kind and gracious. We already miss the phenomenal ceviche, trout, and plantains! We don't usually travel with bus tours. But this trip may have changed our minds. It was relaxing to turn the driving over to a professional (who navigated mountain roads with amazing skill!) Kudos to Gate1 Travel! We just returned from a 16 night trip with Gate1 Travel to the Greek Isles. It was perfect! Being conservative New Englanders, we are quite picky and, honestly, this trip was just amazing..... Gate1 was superb every step of the way from the initial booking to the wonderful representatives that met us at each island and took the time to come to our hotel and give us the local information and advice and to let us know they were available to us for just about anything. The hotels (we chose level "C"... in the middle) were all wonderful. All of them were just a bit "out of town" in wonderful settings.... close enough and just far enough to be quiet and relaxing. All our transfers went without a hitch. Our fellow travelers (even though it was "independent travel", we kept seeing people from our group) were also very happy with the trip. Out tour guide Ivan provided us with amazing insights into Spain's historical, cultural and everyday life and never failed to answer any question! The included breakfasts and dinners were great. Our recent trip with Gate One Travel to Peru to visit Machu Picchu was perfect, special and unforgettable. One of the best travel experiences we've had. The selection of the hotels, restaurants, transportation, etc. were exceptional. The highlight of the trip was our Tour Manager, Carlos Yepez. He went overboard with attentions and was well versed on the history of Peru, the Incas and Machu Picchu. He made sure we all felt safe and took care of our well-being. My wife and I just got back from 11 day Croatia/Slovenia in March this year. We have joined 11 Gate 1 tours to three continents (Europe, Asia and South Africa) since 2012. They were all outstanding and the tour guides were excellent and very knowledgeable. We are going to see Greece with Gate 1 again in May 2015. We did travel with other well known tour companies too but found Gate 1 to be superior in its price, itinerary, hotels and especially service. Gate 1 is the only company that makes flexible arrangements for starting and ending the trips. We are seniors and feel comfortable that there is always a Gate 1 representative to receive us at the airport upon arrival and get us to the airport any time, even 2 am in the morning or 11pm at night. We trust Gate 1 because we know we are always in good hands in a foreign country. We recommend it most highly to anybody who wants to travel.

My experience on the Gate 1 trip to Thailand, Laos and Cambodia in Nov/Dec 2014 was nothing short of amazing. The initial contact with the company was pleasant and easy. The flights, hotels, transportation, and itineraries were great. The tour manager Ranee was passionate about her country and eager to make this trip perfect. The local guides in Laos and Cambodia were very nice and knowledgeable and she supervised them very well. I am very happy with Gate 1. I enjoyed the Thai tour I just took, and I am very pleased that Gate 1 is such a large group. I feel like I have finally found the perfect travel agents. My contact was perfect--if she did not know how to handle something I needed done, she found out. What more can you ask? I love this company for A) value for $, and B) flexibility. My agent flew me in and out of a nearby airport, and helped me set up extra days' stay at the end of my guided tour. We were thus able to achieve a fine balance between guided and independent travel. This was my best trip in years, and I travel frequently. I was even happier to learn that Gate 1 has sister companies with the same policies. They are now my go-to travel agents.

Our trip to Morocco was our 2nd Gate 1 experience and it was a wonderful one. Gate One provides the highest value for your money, allowing you to experience as much as you can of the country you visit in an organized, simple fashion. Our tour manager Ibrahim was amazing, very professional, knowledgeable and proud to share the wealth of his culture with all of us. We have returned from our trip to Iceland. What a wonderful memory! Gate1 Travel provided us with the best accommodations, tours, and tour guide. We stayed in Reykjavik and saw the Northern Lights three nights. We saw waterfalls, geysers, and lots of snow. Our tour guide, Gufbjorg, was excellent! Very informative and fun to be with. We rented a car and ventured the southern part of the island on our own. Our whole vacation was terrific.

My husband and I had a wonderful trip visiting Thailand and Cambodia (15 days). That was our first experience traveling with the group and everything was above our expectation. Starting with very easy booking process online, perfect flight connection (just one stop for 1,5 hour in Tokyo), choice of hotels and trip itinerary . Gate 1 takes you places of the beaten track-we visited local school, had dinner at the Thai family home, got a ride on an ox-cart and visited floating fishing villages. A large part of the great experience for the tour can be attributed to very knowledgeable, professional tour guide Steven. We got excellent value for our money spent , I am going to plan my future trips with Gate 1 and recommend it to my friends.

I booked a trip with the company during the summer and paid $1793 in advance including insurance. Unfortunately, I had to cancel the trip and I tried to get an extension to re-book for next year. So far, it has been an ordeal to deal with them and the insurance company. They only extended for few weeks, the insurance company is taking its time. Each time I call I get a different response. If you book with Gate 1, make sure you book your own airline tickets and that you will make the trip.
