TERRIBLE SERVICE. Got charged for a call that they were unable to assist with. Not sure if It is more upsetting that they were unwilling to render assistance as promised when I spoke to the dispatcher, or for the fact that they charged me despite not helping me. Called because my car had a mechanical problem on a snowy night. The driver called me when he was on the way already to let me know that he cannot help because his truck does not perform well in the snow. AAA Charged me for the call anyways. I tried to call them to explain, but they decided that they were going to make me pay the driver anyways.

My wife has bin a AAA member for 20 year and the road services that have bin provided have bin fine. But we recently booked a trip threw them and are very disappointed. They will take no responsibility for their mistakes. A mistake that almost ruined our entire trip. We come to them because we thought it would be easier to have them book our trip all in one package deal. I told the travel agent 3 times during the booking process what room we wanted and what room we didn't want. Long story short but they booked that exact room we did not want. And after calling and playing phone tag we spoke to the manager. She blamed everyone except them selves and said their was nothing they could do. I can not believe that a large well known company would treat a 20 years customer like that. Unbelievable

Very helpful. I only ever traveled outside of the country with the Military, but this time I needed to as a civilian and I needed Euros. They got me what I needed, they were very helpful, the customer service was excellent, and I was even able to trade my unused Euro bills back in to them when I got home to get American Money back. I also keep a membership with them every year. It's worth it as far as I'm concerned. I hope not to have to use it, but even if I use the towing once every 5 years, it just about paid for itself for those 5 years with how expensive towing can be. I have had to use it in the past and glad I had it or I would have been stranded.

So I was on my way home from work when the Check engine light came on and started flashing. A second later the car started shaking violently and there was a burning smell. Rather than be stranded along side the road I nursed the car to my home slowly. I don't live far from work. I called AAA Reading Berks to have the car towed to my mechanic 18 miles away in Boyertown. Now, I have been a member since 1993 and don't often use AAA. So I was very surprised when the woman on the phone flat out refused to provide me the service for which I pay for. She said the car was drivable. Well, if that was true I wouldn't be calling for a tow. I didn't feel safe driving the car 18 miles since I felt lucky to have gotten it home the few miles from work. I decided to call my car insurance company, Travelers, to see if I had any road side assistance with them. I did! They had no problem coming out to tow me to my mechanic. In fact they called me twice to see if I was ok. I said both times, no worry I'm at home just needed my car towed. Then they called when the flatbed came to tow my car to see it I was happy with that. So my mechanic told me that if I had tried to drive the car out to him there may have been a fire! I called Travelers Insurance to see if I I could get increased road side assistance with them. Yes, for all three of our cars and my wife. Much better coverage and for only $36 a year. Dump AAA and talk to your insurance agent. AAA was not there for me when I needed them. Will they be there for you? I wouldn't bet on it. UPDATE; So my wife left a message for Ed, who she was told is the manager. She did receive a return the next morning. According to Ed, AAA Reading Berks is a "Private" club. Ed also stated that he answers to no one. He even went so far as to say that a complaint about himself would come back to him for review. Wow, he has more power than the president of the United States! My wife asked, "Who signs your checks?" He would not answer that question or give my wife any information about corporate. Meanwhile I called to cancel my membership and my wife's membership. Not even a question as to why. Maybe they are accustomed to it? This place is a sham and should not be allowed to be in business. You collect money from people with a promise to provide a service and when the time comes that people need the service they are paying for you refuse to provide it.

Always willing to help but not always as polite as they should be to their customers. Also this location is not Handicap friendly. I was using a walking device and there are NO handicap buttons to open the entry doors. Employees watched me having trouble entering the building and that's all they did was watch me enter with no help offered until another customer was eventing and grabbed the door for me. How about some office side assistance when a customer cones to your brick and mortarlocation(s).

So I paid for a year of service with AAA and for the first time today I used my service... And it was the worst experience I have ever had... First the tower didn't even introduce him self and with a very big lack of professionalism... He didn't know how to manage the tow truck... He broke my bumper he twisted my tire which I don't even know if he broke my axle... He took over an hour to get the vehicle on top of the tow truck then when we got my vehicle to the dealership he was burning rubber tire with his tow truck to get my vehicle off of it... it was very ridiculous and embarrassing and he broke my bumper even more and only God knows how much damage he did to my vehicle... after he was done with everything I called him and said excuse me he ignored me and said his fuse me again and he ignored me again I walked up to the tow truck window and I said excuse me sir did you realize you cause damage to my vehicle and he was very rude and didn't even look at me in my eyes and just drove off... this is the worst experience I've ever had I called and I reported it and I'm not going to stop till I get an answer back and if no one gives me an answer I guess it will be time for me to give my lawyer a cakl... I'm very upset with their service...

Omg, my parents held memberships when living, I have held membership since driving a long time now. The staff there has always been nice and efficient. When you ask questions they always are ready with answers. When you need roadside assistance, you feel safe knowing a trustworthy person will help in a timely manor and someone on the other end of the phone connection eases your fears about being stranded on the highway etc.

Been a member on and off since I started driving back in the early 70's. I think they are keeping up with the digital age overall. Especially since most of the triptik maps and stuff can be done on the web. But having a real human to talk to about concerns of traveling in my opinion is needed. For those who grew up without it I feel a bit sorry for and recommend that they not to miss out on real human socialization. Although I do deeply appreciate the new technology. It's just a shame for those that don't use both the real and virtual connections. So I went in for an E-Zpass. Could have done it on line or simply gone to another retailer. AAA did all the sign up work for me in about 5 minutes. Walked out all ready to go. Except I would need to mount the device and wait 24 hours just like everyone must do no matter how you get the device. Plus you save a few bucks as a AAA member. I waited about 3 seconds in line. 5 minutes to complete transaction. 25 seconds to park. 20 seconds to walk in. 20 seconds to walk out. So in about 6 minutes 8 seconds all done. The location for AAA in Berks is convenient for most. It's near the Berkshire mall, routes 422, 222 and 12.

The worst experience I've ever had at an AAA. I needed to get a title transfer on a vehicle and they gave me a completely different price then when I called in earlier that day. The lady at the counter also said it can be processed in the same day...which it clearly cannot. They definitely lost a member!
