After travelling all the way from Australia the the US for a once in a lifetime trip, coming to the one place you’ve dreamt about seeing for years, to only be ripped off completely on a helicopter trip you’ve looked forward to for over a year. That’s the only way I can explain my experience. Staff and customer service was shocking. After arriving and pre paying over $800 for two people, we were abruptly told that we needed to pay another $40 per person for helicopter service fees. Furthermore, we were told we’d be on the 2pm flight, and after being ripped off more money (as if the $800+ wasn’t enough), we were put on at 1.45pm flight in order to fill up space on another helicopter. The views may have been minutely better, if placed in the front 2 seats or on the opposite side to the pilot, however being squished up against the smallest window on the helicopter and hardly able to take photos, it was a disgrace. Additionally, we were only in the air for 10 minutes, the other 5 of those were getting in and out of the helicopter. The one thing that blows my mind, is that stated in the inclusions of this deal, was to fly over the big Apple whilst being guided by your pilot. NONE of this happened. We flew, for a solid 10 minutes down the Hudson River, and that was all. With the only decent piece of information of any kind the pilot told us was about Lady Liberty. To me, I do not understand how such a big company can run off such radical pricing for such short trips, and NOT give the correct CUSTOMER SERVICE which should be applied. If you are considering flying with Liberty, I advice you not to. The prices are daylight robbery, and it seems like you’d get a better experience and see more by viewing the Big Apple on google maps... > Liberty Helicopters, Please re-evaluate you’re service.

Ademas contratan empresas "externas" que te abordan antes del viaje para realizar videos a 100€ , videos que una vez pagas te dicen que son solo del helipuerto y si quieres en las que sale el helicoptero te intentan cobrar otros 20€!!! Una estafas montada en toda regla para sacarte hasta el ultimo dolar.

The good: Pilot was awesome and very attentive. Helicopter ride and sights were amazing. The bad: Don't expect to get on a flight anytime soon around midday. We had a reservation for 1:30pm so we arrived at 1pm. We didnt get into the building until 2:12pm after being sunburned and doubly sore from standing in line after walking all over NYC. We then had another 40min wait before we got into the helicopter. I could understand some delays and making sure the flights are safe but a two hour wait shows some poor organization. I would recommend taking a helicopter ride, but if you expect to get anything else done that day after your flight it better be a few hours after, especially if you reserve a midday flight. Oh and if you see other people walking up and going in about 20x faster, that's because they went with a different company and they are all in the same building, but guess what you have non-refundable reserved tickets so hope you put on sunblock.

We were sold a big apple tour taking in the key sights. It was difficult to hear the pilots bored commentary and we missed a couple of the highlights. Unless you know exactly what to look for you may as well just enjoy the view. Was supposed to be 15 mins and it was only 11 in the air.

Booked online prior to trip. Arrived approx 45mins early (due to light traffic) we would've preferred to wait until our chosen time but we're moved forward, when we stated we'd prefer to wait were told times money & they want every seat filled. No issues regarding safety that was good. Very tall West Indian gentlemen was great he walked us to the helicopter & took the photos he was very kind. If you are luckily enough to be seated on the opposite side to the pilot your view will be much better. As the pilot went slowly & low past the statue of liberty on the right side. However due to the people of the right plus gentlemen in the middle we couldn't take any photos then the pilot turned around for another fly past but raised the helicopter so our view was looking down on the top. This was the story for the entire trip, slowly went up the Hudson, came back faster therefore anyone on the left behind the pilot has restricted view. I also ordered & paid online for 2 photos. When I went to collect it the lady tried to charge me again, when I explained I'd prepaid she was reluctant to believe me & became a little stroppy, her colleague then stepped in checked the system & saw that I had paid. That was an unnecessary & awkward situation which shouldnt have happened. I have flown in helicopters before in other countries & the pilot has always ensured passengers on both side have the same opportunity to see & take photos sadly this wasn't the case with our liberty pilot.

Be prepared to wait and wait and wait. First booking was cancelled due to low visibility so we rescheduled for the following day for midday. They advised we arrive 30 mins early which we did at 11:30. Upon arriving we were turned away at the gate as they were delays of an hour and told to come back an hour later. Upon returning at 12:30 we had to wait in the que outside in the baking hot sun for 30 minutes. Once we got in we were ushered into the waiting area (pen) for a further 50 minutes waiting for the flight number to be called. When our flight was eventually called we had to que for a further 20 mins while the helicopter went to refuel in New Jersey. Eventually we got on the helicopter almost 3 hours after our originally flight slot which totally messed up the rest of the days plans All in all 3 hours of waiting is definitely not worth the price of admission for a short 20 min flight up and down the Hudson River. There is also a hidden $40/person Heliport fee that must be paid on arrival. You could rent a private helicopter plus pilot from a few miles outside NYC and have your own private tour for not much more than the cost of this experience for a large family. Would not recommend.

My name is Dilan Martin and I'm from England. I had a really good experience at Liberty. I am kind of suprised at some of the negative feedback because my experience was nothing but positive. When we arrived we stepped into the line and checked in. Once we checked in, it took maybe 10min before they called us up to go. We watch a security video and boarded the helicopter. They take pictures of you and your party before you board in front of the helicopter. Once the tour started it was very exciting. I took the tour that was called the Big Apple tour, with that tour it is 15min and to be quite honest it felt a lil longer. More like 17-18..the pilot was very friendly, he gave us history and told us exactly what were looking at. We captured some really cool pics of the statue of liberty. We came pretty close to it. Of course we saw the city and the famous buildings. My favorite part of the tour was when it was time to head back to the heliport, we had to make a U-turn and the helicopter tilts to the side as it turns..It really was fun and exciting.

On the advice of a friend, we took a helicopter tour around Manhattan, from the Liberty Helicopter's helipad pier in the East River, near the Staten Island Ferry dock on lower Manhattan (South Ferry subway station on the 1 train). Our pilot (Captain Kirk, and no I'm not kidding) was extremely polite and very professional. He ensured all passengers were safely buckled in, and briefed us on what we could expect, before actually moving. His care and concern was evident and genuine (he cannot be a native New Yorker). He let us know that we would lift off and the back up over the East River just a bit, before banking and flying away for our tour--good info to know, as I wasn't expecting a back-and-go departure. The tour took us out around Governor's Island, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, up the Hudson River and across the George Washington Bridge, and then back down the Hudson along the NJ Palisades. I’ll admit I was a little nervous looking down at the helipad from altitude, but Capt. Kirk deftly maneuvered the helicopter down and around the pier and set the aircraft down so gently, I didn’t realize that we had actually touched down. He was a great pilot and very knowledgeable of the area and pointed out local landmarks and famous items around us. If you’re in NY City, make it a point to find time to fly around Manhattan in a helicopter, and if he’s not on the bridge of the Enterprise, ask to fly with Capt. Kirk.

This tour is way overpriced for what it is. We were schedule to take off at 10:45, but we took off about 45 minutes later. The queue is long and the building is just too busy. The flight was pleasant but it definitely didn't warrant the hefty price tag $100 would suit this much better for a 15 minute flight. I am a private pilot and I could have rented a 4 seater aircraft at the same price for an HOUR, whereas this cost me $220 per PERSON for 15 minutes! Somehow the numbers just don't add up. Totally not worth the money.

We took this flight, to really appreciate the NYC skyline. I pre-booked, thinking it best (it was); but we were over an hour late; the staff accommodated us well, but we found that even if we had been on time our wait in the queue would still have been an hour or so. The opposition (who was fractionally more $$ wise, did not have the same wait time); never the less the flight was very enjoyable, and a must do for any NYC visit. The helicopter; the pilot was knowledgeable (as you would expect) however the helo was crammed (center seating does not allow for great photo opportunities!!! A selling point of the opposition was exactly that; all seats have good photo opportunities. So, my recommendation? Take a flight, it is a must; but, think about spending a few extra $$ to enjoy it a little more; be aware of the wait time (on week days over an hour).

Disappointing experience given we paid so much money.... the crew refused to take our picture with our own cameras on the helipad but only with theirs. When we got off the helicopter they offered to sell a hard copy for $27 and wouldn’t even email a digital copy. We visited last week on one of the windiest days I have seen! We were worried that the flight would not go ahead and did experience a delay but that was understandable and you can't chose the weather! I had reservations about the view and how good it would be but I must say I thought it was amazing. We went up many buildings and did a lot whilst in New York but nothing shows you Manhattan and the surrounding area like a Helicopter ride! The pilot was fantastic in the high winds and provided as smooth a ride as possible, along with a steady landing. We bought a photo that they took at the beginning of the ride which was about £20 - I don't like paying for these things but if you want the photo what choice do you have! It's the same at all places though so wouldn't mark down for that. Just a bit annoying that my phone has a better camera than the one they used for the photo! Helicopter rides are expensive but in my view it's a unique experience and one to remember.

This place is a complete joke. My girlfriend and I had a reservation set for 3:30pm and arrived at 3pm for check in, as stated on our receipt. Upon arriving, the ticket lady informed us that there will be a 20 min delay due to 2 of the 4 helicopters being out for maintenance. After waiting 40 mins, someone from inside came out and informed us that it is now an additional hour delay. We waited our additional hour and we were now at the front of the line. The ticket lady comes by again and now informs us that we won't be able to go on the helicopter until 5:30-5:45. Furious and annoyed from standing in the sun for 2 and a half hours, we request a refund. Of course they were unable to give a refund, we have to now email the main office to request a refund that will take 3-5 business days. We were offered to board a helicopter for a sister company, but that would require us to pay a separate $300+. Seriously?! How can one run a business like this. If you're aware of an issue, be courteous to your customers and inform them of said issues. Don't play the waiting game. I will never book anything with this company again and will inform everyone of this experience.

I can certainly believe these tours are very exciting and fun - in fact, probably the pinnacle of one's visit to NYC in some senses - and I don't doubt that safety precautions are being followed within the helicopter, though I believe the sheer number of tours being run simultaneously presents a true danger to those riding and those below the flight path. Moreover, though, what you don't see, and what I implore you to consider, is the children crying and shuddering on the ground near the Hudson River as these extremely loud helicopters relentlessly pass over, 10-seconds apart, for 10 hours per day Monday through Saturday and 8 hours per day on Sunday, including all holidays. I tell people I know that if they want a free daily re-enactment of the Battle of Normandy, air version, they can come here. Even Germany's World War II Air Force couldn't hold a candle to the production these guys produce. I took my daughter for her 14th Birthday and we enjoy it so much. You get to see the city almost completely especially the Hudson side. The whole helicopter ride was for 15 minutes but it really felt longer than 15 minutes. The pilot was very informative and great! The staff was superb that they actually let my daughter sit in the front next to the pilot. It was worth every penny. I really recommend this place.

Front seats were excellent and I definitly would not have been happy in the back middle. We had an 11:45 appointment but arrived early around 11 and was in the air around 11:30. Definitly reccomend to everyone as it will give a view of NYC and NJ you can only get from a helicopter. Pilot/Crew/Staff were all professional and kind.
