Best tour we had in comfortable surroundings. Bar/refreshment area could be better but adequate

Svetoslav Stamov

We got Harbor Lights. From the very beginning to the end it was fantastic! Worth the time, one of 'must go' attraction! Included very close view of night light Statue of Liberty!

christopher may

Did the harbour lights and was absolutely beautiful Very professional and tour guide called David well worth a visit.

Nizamul Hoque

I was disappointed as the boat didn't really stop in front of the statue for good photos. They just slow down and make a u-turn. Also, it was completely full on the upper deck which made it even more difficult to take any good photos. Also didn't like the seating arrangement, if you are not seated on the side, won't even get a photo without other people in it. Other than these, everything else was fine. Would recommend only if you can ensure a good seat at the edge.

Garrett Faull

Prices are about right nice tour great views tour guide was knowledgeable but a little to chatty great ride for pictures

Cherrie

LOVED their 7pm Harbor Lights Tour. Knowledgeable guide, Andy, pointed out all the building highlights & history as we cruised along.

Tony Cheung

Great way to spend 2.5 hours relaxing and taking in the sites, we went for the first tour at 10:00am and the queue wasn't too bad, however by the time we returned, the lines were pretty big. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and made relevant comments at the various points of interest. We sat on the "right" hand side of the boat having read another review that it's the best place to view the statue of liberty, however it wasn't mentioned the boat turns around so people on the left hand side get a good view for photographs. The route also favours the left hand side for the unobstructed views (unobstructed as in the other people on the boat), however whichever side you are sat on, they are still fantastic.

If you're in a power chair you drive and you got the bolt underneath or any power chair. Wouldn't do it... Tried it got stuck twice

Kelly Osvold

Screaming children made it an experience I wont forget. Terrible staff, that not only would NOT address the situation, but told me to talk to the children's counselors myself made it an experience I am not likely to repeat. When I approached the tour guide and asked if he could make an announcement for the children to please quiet down as no one downstairs could even hear him, he told me I was disturbing the people that were seated upstairs. I found it quite disturbing that he felt it was alright for only half the people on board to be able to enjoy the ride, but those who are handicapped, or chose to sit in the air conditioning downstairs, were stuck on a boat forced to listen to the cacophony of 5 year olds for 2 1/2 hours. The view was nice, but I had no idea what I was looking at.

Patricia Jensen

Very impressed with the cruise. Joe (our tour guide) was fantastic. Even though we were dealing with high tides form the hurricane, our Captain managed to get us around the whole island. This history was fantastic and the views were wonderful. This was my first visit to the city, and I will be back! Thank you for such a memorable adventure.

Anthony Boese

Amazing tour, not only was the tour guide really informative but funny too. New York is wonderful to see from the water line. Being able to hop on and off at each stop with the day pass was a beautiful way to navigate the city

Lu Chiie

Good staff. The tour guide was nice and funny. I advice you sit up though because if you are down you can't hear a word he is saying. There's snacks and sandwiches and beverages onboard even a restroom downfloor. A nice and beautiful experience

M V

Took the harbor lights sunset cruise in the summer that went up to 2 hours long which does not seem that long when you are on the cruise! The weather was perfect and our tour guide was very good in walking us through the major sightseeing spots. The ride was very relaxing and pleasant. The highlight of the trip was watching the lights go lit in the statue of liberty, right it front of you from the cruise. The city, when lit up, looks beyond beautiful at night. It can get real windy and kinda cold in the middle of the ride so be sure to carry an extra jacket, just in case. Also, make sure you get there early as soon as the boarding starts, to get some good seats for your photos with the views.

Stephen O'Neill

This was a great way to take in the sights and find out more about New York. Unfortunately it was very hot on the day we decided to take the tour, it was cool enough while we were moving, but once you pass Yankee stadium, everyone just moved to the lower deck. The tour guide was fantastic, and made it more enjoyable. I would recommend this to anyone, but if it's too hot to remain comfortable in direct sunlight, I would suggest to wait for a cooler day.

Irene Siekpe

Loved this tour of New York. Even though I had visited New York on a few occasions in the past, this was the first time I had done a sightseeing cruise. I certainly did not regret the decision and felt it was worth the money I spent.

Dusty Jones

Amazing views, decent commentary on what you're seeing, does feel a bit long but nothing you can really do about that.

Ivette Ramos

Great way to see part of Manhattan. It is cost effective. Great sightseeing of the Liberty statue. Good music and good atmosphere.

Lori Scinto

I really enjoyed taking the one hour Liberty cruise with my niece. We are both Native New Yorkers but we still learned a lot of history about the Manhattan and New Jersey skylines. Chris did a great job of narrating the journey and the weather was perfect for the trip. I highly recommend taking a Circle Line Cruise. Well worth the time and money. Speaking of which, we got a 23% discount on the cruise by signing up for Circle Line email and buying directly from their website. An added bonus!

Emily Foster

We did the harbour Lights cruise which started at 7pm and lasted about 2 hours. The service to get through security and onto the boat was excellent but when we went to buy drinks I've never known two women work so slow. There was clearly a long line and they were ambling about as though there was no one there. As it was midsummer it wasn't dark when we set off but we got to see the city and the statue of liberty through a beautiful sunset which was just as good. It was dark by the time we returned to the pier so we still got to see the New York skyline all lit up. The tour guide was knowledgeable and funny and gave a lovely commentary as we went along the Hudson. Overall I would say it's well worth the price as you get to see the city while sitting down in the air conditioning and from a point of view you wouldn't normally see.

Ransom Stanley

Great time had by the family! Did the Liberty cruise. An hour was perfect. Tour guide was excellent and very informative, not to mention funny. 50% off for military made this worth every penny. Thanks guys.

Alan Varghese

Brilliant guide and awesome views. A must for every New Yorker and tourist. Ticket prices are decent but food on board is a bit expensive. Harbor lights cruise is especially great. Carrying a light jacket is recommended as it can get quite windy in the river. Getting on early ( 30-45 minutes before leaving) is important to ensure you get the good seats. The cruise is around 2+ hours in itself.

Konamaneti Sreenivasa Reddy.

I was not knowing the meaning of it until I realized that it really makes a round around the Man, Machine and Manhattan through Hudson River, East River and Harlem River. All along see the beautiful buildings if Manhattan, row houses of New Jersey in East row, downtown of Queens, Green lands of Southwest Manhattan n above all paying through historic and modern Bridges. The long ride on the vessel is unforgettable and not to miss. The journey is pleasant from lower deck or rooftop open deck, Staff is nice and the tour is worth every cent.

Vasilis C.

The cruise was great. Did the Harbour Lights one and saw most of the sightseeing. However the girl at the ticket hall couldn't just bother and wasn't helpful at all.

Lupe Garcia

Definitely recommend the Best of NYC’s 2.5 hr cruise! General price had good seating. Driver went in both sides of river.

Susan Anderson

One of our favorite touristy things we did while visiting NYC! Good weather made it better, of course. We took the 2-1/2 hour cruise all the way around Manhattan. A nice way to see a lot of the landmarks while resting our feet.

Mark Torres

It's okay for those tourist that don't know any better about which boats to take downtown to go to locations like the Statue of Liberty or Ellis Isles. The circle is great to get an idea of where you may want to go exploring by seeing the sights from the river side of things. I would recommend once or twice to new comers and tourists of NYC.

Daniel Rhodin

We did the ”best of NYC” tour that took 2.5 hours. Boat was nice and the guide told a lot of interesting fact and fun stories. As the tour goes around whole Manhattan, there’s a lot to see. Unfortunately, for the same reason, the tour length can’t be shorter as it gets a bit too long in the end.

Clair Clair Sky

Nice water tour, lovey tour guide and good selection of sights! Well worth the 2 hours.

Rebecca Kelley

The sightseeing Cruise was fun. Got to see a lot of tall/cool

maritsa vatou

The cruise was amazing, everyone was really nice, except the guy who is taking photos before you enter the boat. He was very rude to me, probably because I was solo, and didn't want my photo taken. Nevertheless, it's an experience that shouldn't be missed. I did the 3-hour cruise.

Dr.Pragnesh Vachharajani

Nice experience. They take you around liberty island and a you can see famous landmarks from the ferry tour. Guide is good, explain the historical aspects and other details nicely. Need to buy tickets or can be purchased as package. Entire area is good. Takes around 1 hour for the ferry tour.

Ryan Cola

Went on this boat yesterday. Did the Wine & Cheese Pairing in NYC. Had a great time. The staff was very nice and the views were amazing. Will return for sure.

Richard Hammar

Getting Premier tickets is just unnecessary and a waste of money. No food or drinks included, no room for special seats even though it is said on the ticket. Ride is a bit too long, and the last hour gets a bit boring. The tour guide talks nonstop in a muffled microphone and mostly just talks to the people near him but the whole boat has to listen to it. The staff in the café was rather dancing around than help customers in line. The waiting time for food is insane. The first hour gives you a good view of the city though. This boat ride is for family's with small children, kids everywhere climbing and running around. Basic and simple boat, very average.

Karen Williamson

Andy was a FANTASTIC tour guide. Sapphire was a friendly and helpful attendant. Our entire family loved every minute of the 7pm 2 hour sunset Cruise. Amazing views of all of lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. Loved going under the 3 bridges (B, M, W) and learning so much of the city history from Andy. Highly recommend. We paid extra for premier and enjoyed the comfy indoor seats and bar service at our seats. You can also go outside and enjoy views.

Franz Walter

Did the NY Best Tour. Great tour with a grandpa-story telling tour guide Tony. Perfect experience. Thanks tony! If u have the NY CityPass be aware, you have to add 5$on top to get this specific tour.

Ryan Jurgens

I have been taking my tour groups on the Best of NYC cruise for some years now. It is a just plain fantastic cruise around Manhattan!

T Price

The landmark cruise was amazing. Get to the ticket booth one hour before departure, and boarding begins 45 mins before. There were already 30 people in line by this time, so earlier the better. You will get your cruise pic taken (you can buy after cruise) and will have your pick of the best seats (air-conditioning or seats near the sides of the vessel). The premier seating may already be sold out so order ahead of time, they get the back seats under an awning. If you wind up getting on board closer to departure you can take whatever seat is left or stand. After they leave the dock, the crew opens the front of both levels for you to stand and get great pics. So if your standing those folks normally get to the outside deck first. If your have a bad seat the minute the guide starts pointing out the landmarks half of the ship gets up to see it so you'll be able to snag a better seat. Awesome guide in the yellow shirt has a mic and announces all of the landmarks. The 2.5 hours went so fast. I'm going back again. You can buy light refreshments on board. Security will check your bag before boarding and you may be told to toss out items.

Imogen Fox

Circle line was out of this world. They were absolutely incredible when it came to supporting my wheelchair using partner. The trip was two hours and felt like brilliant value for money. We did the twilight cruise and I couldn't recomend it more

Ella Rehder

This was a really amazing cruise. We drove right by the statue of liberty ! I had fun and the boat was clean. I dont like their food prices so I suggest eating before you get on

Nathan Johnson

Excellent tour on the water! Our tour guide knew everything. I'd go Circle Line again in a hot minute!

William Bebout

Must do! This cruise was one of the first things we did, and it was a phenomenal experience! It circles around the entire island (weather permitting; on our tour, the high tide meant we couldn't actually go all around the island because the boat couldn't fit under the bridge!), allowing you to see the Manhattan skyline from every side (as well as Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty). Our tour guide was also excellent, dropping jokes in between his anecdotes and living history lessons of New York, pointing out this section or that and how it got to be that way. Our friend recommended getting the premium seating, which was well worth it (still had a great view and the seats were more comfortable for the 2+ hour cruise). For the fresh tourist or anyone who wants to revisit the skyline at a leisurely but thorough pace, definitely take the Circe Line Complete cruise!

Jeremías Padilla

So we miss our scheduled cruise... that sucks... right when I though everything was lost, the friendly staff at Circle Line Cruises tells me it’s all okay, I can come back the following day and still use my ticket. A real life saver. Their guides are top notch and the cruise was really entertaining. A great value for it’s price.

Justin John

Please know that it's going to take 2 hours for the entire trip! Do not forget that! Unless you're totally sure of what you're getting into please do not. For those of you on a time budget, please just take the cruise to the statue of liberty and back! The only plus point about such a long trip is you get to see a totally different view of Manhattan Riverside.

Patrick MacDonald

Great tour of the island by boat. The tour guides are very knowledgable and give lots of fun facts as well as make sure you see everything you are wanting to get a photo of.

Melody Packard

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and humorous, my friends and I had a good time! I had some trouble taking decent photographs since I was seated inside the cabin; the outdoor seating was all taken and bow was stuffed full of people filming the entire trip with selfie sticks! The interior lighting was quite bright and being reflected in the windows (see my photos in review). If the interior lighting was dimmer, I could have gotten some pics without lights or dirty window glass marring the image. I suspect there might be some safety issues if the cabin is too dark, and overall I still enjoyed the sights and history. It's more about the experience than taking photos of course!

Ruben Colon

Nice tour round the Hudson river, specially by night. It would be nice to be a little bit more close to the Statue of Liberty but I am sure you will enjoy it. Try to do the Intrepid visit and the cruise the same day, are next one to the other.

Nathan Henderson

A one-hour cruise down Manhattan's west side to the Statue of Liberty and back. The tour guide was very informative and entertaining. Various historic and architectural landmarks will be pointed out, with some context for each one. Both sides of the boat will have views and time for pictures at the Statue, but the tour does not dock there. Be sure to see the USS Intrepid and her aviation museum when you get back.

Sheryl D.

We took the 1.5 hour landmark tour and it was great. The guide told us all of the history as we toured and was quite comical. They have several cruises, which I'm sure are all just as fun and great way to see NY.

Mark Schubin

A little pricey, and you're not supposed to bring your own food or drink, but it's a unique and educational view of New York City, and you're likely to be happy at the end.

Andy Woods

A great trip, well worth a visit. Id recommend that you book in advance as the sunset cruise gets very busy and crowded. The boat set off on time and Andy the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and funny , having plenty to say as everything passed by.After the turnaround point it started to get dark and so you saw all the landmarks in a different perspective (all lit up) which was a welcome bonus. 10 out of ten.

kyle moody

Very cool cruise. Inside in climate control so don't worry about getting sunburn. You can go outside too and look over boat. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. A neat way to see the sights on the Hudson river if your lazy like me and didn't want to walk.

Sasha N

I took Landmarks Cruise on 05/26/19, 2 pm the boat was great and the cruise was excellent! But i have to tell that they really need to improve ticketing part of it. I purchased 3 tickets online and printed them in order to avoid a line to the ticket box. When I arrived to the line for boating I was send back to a line for a ticket kiosk because they do not accept printed tickets nor electronic from cell phone screen. It was hot sunny day and i was with two elderly friends and no space for them to wait in a shaded area. And we have to stay in long line to the kiosk to get tickets again. but this is not end! the lady in the lady in the kiosk took my printed tickets for 2 pm and gave me tickets for 7 pm! and I did not noticed that right away, and went back to the boarding line, when I noticed the mistake I have to run back to the kiosk asking people in long line to get me in without waiting (which I hate to do! ) after all i finally got the right tickets. Another experience I got on the second floor of a boat at the cafeteria, where i ordered bottle of water and wine, lady was not able to process wine on the electronic device she was trying and trying and no way, I left tips anyway for her and asked for two plastic cups she passed it to me and told that it is not permitted. Again the boat and trip was great except all of the above.

Crystal Hudson

This was such a great experience. If you can upgrade, I strongly recommend Premier seating. If not, the cruise is still worth it!!!

James Varghese

Did the 90 minute cruise. Really great view of the manhattan skyline. They had a great guide who would give great insights about many buildings and surroundings, and also shared a lot of history of this beautiful city.

Kerrie Binks

An amazing cruise around NYC, our guide (can’t remember his name) was lovely and had loads of information to tell about everything we saw onboard, definitely try it out if you can!!

Allan Crocker

Have taken this two times and it gets better each time.....great way to see NYC and if its a nice day it cannot be beat. Staff takes you through all the sites and gives a brief history of what your looking at along with tons of local flavor. Tour is just around 2 hrs and it breezes by. Too many great pics to post but I'll share a few.

Rick Baker

Great sightseeing cruise...... Rachel did an amazing job as Tour Guide.

Just James

We took the 4 hours long your. This was relaxing, educational and entertaining. The boat goes right up to the Statue of Liberty.. you do not need to pay the trip to go-to Ellis Island in my opinion. This is my second boat tour with circleline. Best value. Onboard food is tasty. Bathrooms are freezing cold. Lol of course because they are on the bottom of the ship and cold air Falls... 2 thumbs up

Amanda Schaake

Fun trip to do. Didn't get to go right around the island as we were meant to due to "high tides" which I would have thought was something theyd know about before accepting bookings for a trip they know they cant fulfil. Appreciate the twice past Statue of Liberty for good photo opportunities. The knowledge of the guide was great and he had a wonderful voice but it was so hard to hear him unless sitting directly under a speaker so that was a shame.

Christopher Brooklyn

Had fun... it was a cruise with a depeche mode dj... it was very good.. just prices for drinks a bit crazy.. staff was cool... clean and nice... and we got to see the bat signal..I tried to leave because I was being called but they would not stop the boat.. dam you joker... If they have a DJ that plays music you like.. go for it.. it is fun

Aphro Kitty82

We purchased the explorer pass via Groupon and this tour company was one of the options. It was a breeze to redeem. They have a separate line for passes. The staff was friendly. They had a wide variety of snacks and drinks in the bar area. The staff there was very nice as well. The bathrooms in the boat were relatively clean. I really wanted to see the statue of liberty but had no desire to actually get super close so this was perfect. Next time I'll take the night time tour. I bet it's even better

Jiss Jacob Sebastian

Loved it! What an awesome experience it was. Amazing. I took the 'Landmarks cruise'. Guide was super cool and they have snacks on board which is not that expensive. I could see Manhattan especially statue of liberty, world trade center, empire state building, brooklyn bridge, UN headquarters etc. to name a few. I will give five stars.

Lily Alexandrya

An amazing, not too expensive trip to the statue of liberty! Loved it! What a fantastic memory.

Celo's Vision Travel Photography

Nice attraction, one can see the lovely island and its informative. I enjoyed the tour, despite to some old grampy folks that were super negative about everything.

Yearn t-Learn

I hate writing negative reviews, I always try to find something positive to say. So, the guide on the bus saved this being a negative review. He was funny, charismatic engaging and put a smile on all our faces. The guys selling the tickets at Knickerbocker hotel stop for the hop on hop off are rude and unprofessional. They openly argued in front of us customers and then argued with the bus staff when they pulled up. I have ridden hop on hop off in many countries. The street staff here were the only ones l have ever had issue with. I did tell them we were unhappy. They seemed uninterested. The bus conductor was the saving grace.

Samuel Longstreet

Joe was a great tour guide! Very knowledgeable, and the staff was super helpful! Would recommend and would love to go again!

Alexandra Ware

Ride is great the announcer is horrible. Doesn't go into enough actual historical facts about buildings, monuments or the 20+ bridges passed. The talking was relentless and I know this is personal but his voice, tone of speaking was like nails on a chalkboard. I personally couldn't stand it and neither could my partner. Next time will look for a tour that actually goes into the history, making and architecture of the amazing and unique buildings that make up New York City.

Natalie M

I was skeptical, but given it was part of the NY pass we took the circumnavigation of Manhattan island tour. It was about 2.5 hours and I have to admit that it was really good. You get to see the statue of liberty up close and you get to see the shore of all of Manhattan and Brooklyn. It was nice to see parts of the city that you might not vist normally and it was also heaps chill, like you're just sitting on a boat in the fresh air and sun for a few hours. There's also refreshments if you get hungry. I think this was a good thing to do and I usually hate tours like this.

Pratik Bhatt

Fun trip gives you a beautiful and scenic view of Manhattan skyline and statue of liberty. Can be tried once.

Piyush Jain

What a view of the New York skyline in the twilight in the month of May, definitely one the best experiences we had in New York. Listening to the guide explain about the building, burrows and the bridges. One suggestion, take a jacket or make sure you take the seats inside (which are fun but view is much better outside), learnt it the hard way and couldn't move for most of return journey.

Matteo Fabris

Excellent guided tour in the waters around Manhattan. Can’t understand the formula by mean they try to sell you a fake photoshop taken at the pier before embarking. Should they ask before the shot?

Nahuel Barrios

Awesome ride! But you have to stay on your chair to let others see the city as you do. The trick to fix this the right way is not to keep you seated but load less passengers per ride... The staff was very kindly, and the views were really nice! See some pics! (Ride time: 19hs)

Michael Clarke

Didn't give a chance to take good photos of statue of liberty to both sides of the boat as they said they would, so I missed my chance, and £4 for a bottle of water

Cathy

Went on a 2 1/2 hour night cruise featuring the "Rockin The Boat" Concert Series. The Amish Outlaws were playing. The views on the boat were beautiful at night, but then the weather got bad. It was pouring rain and so the concert had to end and we had to go inside and watch from the boat....

Folashade Oguns

I had a wonderful time on this cruise and even got to watch the sun set. Best time ever!

Anna Beard

After booking our cruise I became very nervous because I stumbled upon some very poor reviews. I emailed Robert (found his email in some reviews) and he replied within an hour that changes had been made to address some shortcomings in the past. I am so thrilled we booked the 4th of July cruise. We did arrive early and checking was a breeze. The staff on the pier were incredibly friendly and helpful. Once we boarded the boat we were told not to worry if we didn’t get an outside seat as all the chairs would be removed so everyone could be on the deck for the fireworks. We had a wonderful pass by the Statue of Liberty and then went to find our spot among the masses of boats. Truly finding and securing a spot seemed like a game of chicken with boats sneaking in trying to get a better view. I do wish the boat could have been closer to the bridge, but with all the boats and coast guard regulations I understand the safety of the passengers is most important. The food was good and didn’t run out. Plenty of water for the kids and a few glasses of wine for me. Seeing the fireworks in the water with the city in the background is something we will never forget. The ride concluded with “New York, New York” with everyone singing and dancing. Thanks for a great cruise!

Jack Lord

Expect crowds and a scramble for seating but the cruise provides a fantastic perspective of NYC accompanied by some informative commentary, though it was muffled where we were seated. Beware the mixed drink prices are exorbitant! $16 for a G&T versus a $9 beer.

Charles Shapiro

This was an excellent tour around the island, an amazing perspective of some of New York's amazing landmarks that you cant get from the land. Our tour guide was very informative and entertaining without going into way too much detail, he clearly knew a lot about the city and certainly loved his job. Some people say the tour is a bit long but I would disagree. Felt perfect to me, but I could see how it might be lengthy for younger children. I strongly recommend the upgrade to the premium seats, so much more comfortable and you can always get up and walk around outside for great photo ops.

Dylan Jones

Beautiful views, the second level is uncovered, but the bottom level is air-conditioned. Stops running before 7pm, so be aware if you're hoping for nighttime views. Overall, excellent, extremely efficient access to some of the best parts of New York City!

Maninder Kaur

It was nice. We went on a memorial day weekend so it was very crowded. It got boring somewhere along mid way probably because it was a long 2hr 30 min cruise. Not much snacks or water on board. Took a long while standing in the que to order some from the bar for my husband. I would go again but would probably look at the shorter cruises or ones in the evening when the sun is not that harsh.

François-Benjamin

Great time on the Hudson river. Our tour guide (Chris) was really passionate and friendly. Lots of stories were told and made this cruise more special than just going to

Dylan

Top of the tier ship riding. I had alot of fun with me and my persons/personnel riding the ship. Would recommend to all people/personnel

John Weber

Wow that's such an awesome time on this cruise for my friend Katie Trimmers birthday. the cruise was so fun we went under three Bridges twice cut see the statue of liberty I'm going up the West side you really gets taken a lot of the views. It was awesome. I would do it again

Salah Berdouk

Excellent way to see the various sites! The narrator, John Mason, has such a great voice. Very easy to understand and very helpful staff. We took the 11 o'clock boat and the trip took around 1h45.

MOT Mark

Their night time cruises can be a lot of fun. There's music, drinks and dancing. The crowd varies. The crowd size varies. Usually like a 4-hour tour. Not bad prices on the drinks. Easy access. The Bar staff were kind and friendly and a lot of fun. #sightseeing #yacht

Madison Morris

Worth the money!! Got to see some amazing views of the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn bridge. Snacks and refreshments were available on the boat

Rita Ryan

This is the second time I did a Circle Line cruise. I'm from upstate New York. This past Saturday, August 10, I took my daughter and a family member who was visiting from Germany on the Best of NY Cruise (2 1/2 hours). The cruise itself was wonderful! Great narration and wonderful cruise. The only reason it doesn't get a 5 Star rating is because of the horrendous food service. I stood in line for over 25 minutes to get water and a soda. And there were only about 12 people in front of me. I missed a lot of that cruise because I was standing in line. They should consider getting a soda machine so people just wanting a drink don't have to wait in line for that long. Would cut down on wait times for everyone.

Rachel Hoffmann

The tours are amazing! The guides are informative and fun, the lines get long but that’s pretty standard when going to an attraction. The new boats are very nice and the food on board it good!

PJ's Coin Capers

Awesome way to get up close to 3 of the five bridges and the statue of liberty. Great commentary on board and drinks available.

• JayD3vo •

Super informative and the ride was nice! It’s super hot though just so you know however, there was indoor viewing which was good. I was very happy with how the tour guy / girl didn’t talk too much and just let us observe. I even got too see the Statue of Liberty , isn’t it awesome???

Vincenzo Prestera

Thanks to New York City Explorer Pass I taken a cruise managed by this company during August 2019. The cruise has been really exciting cause we have seen all NYC skyline from the sea. The board staff is friendly and the guide is very pleasant. I suggest this company cruises if you wish see Manhattan by boat. Prices not expensive (as the average) and many different tour cruises available. If you have bought New York City Explorer pass you have to pick up your tickets from box office located just close to Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum area.

Sònia Turmo

The guide 's voice was not clear enough to understand, ask least for non - natives speakers of English. On the whole, it was a very monotonous speech. Don't recommend the 2 and a half hours

Hanne Christensen

Very nice trip. Lots of nice views. The guide, however was a bit too smart, which made it a little difficult for foreigners to understand.

Torsten Voigt

A great way to discover the city from a different angle, learn about New York City and New Jersey and relax for some 2.5 hours. This is the second time I did the Best of NYC Cruise and I can highly recommend it.

Jehuda Ish-Shalom

Nice. Simple boat but shows you around. For double or more you can take a fancy what is called a yacht. Circle line is probably better for seeing around.

Dying Breed

Best way to see the skyline! Good music to set the tone of the experience.

Doni Mckoy

On a hot summer day plenty of your guides willing to sell tickets. We bought ours online and walked from Grand Central to the downtown line. Our first guide made my out of town family feel like it wasn't worth it. He made it clear he's not a historian or into architecture and just mentioned facts here and there. The tour guide on the way up town was full of knowledge he shared about NYC. So it's just a luck of the draw. If you don't like your tour guide I'd get off and wait for the next bus if you can.

Lisa

If you don't want to do tourist photos you get called 'rude'. What a nice costumers service...

Ligia Jarquin

This is a must do activity when visiting New York! Especially the City Lights Tour! I have been on it twice, and both times it has been a mindblowing and unforgettable experience! Highly recommend!

Dan Armstrong

The "around Manhattan" trip, which cost $44 per person, didn't actually go around Manhattan. The first two times I took this trip it did. This time it went up the East River to Hell Gate, then turned around and went up the Hudson to about 110th Street. I felt cheated: no Yankee Stadium, no Columbia Boathouse, no Bronx Community College (of Son of Sam fame). The supposed reason was "the tides." But the tides aren't a mystery. We know the timing of the tides in advance. And the trip was promoted as around Manhattan. It wasn't. The guide was great, as always. Personable, knowledgeable, entertaining. I've lived here almost 40 years, give or take a few, and I always learn new things when I take one of these cruises. But Circle Line management needs to get its story straight.

Abigail Barhorst

Such a wonderful experience. This was my first time getting to see the Statue of Liberty, in person, so it was very exciting. The tour guide was fabulous. So knowledgeable & highly entertaining. And the views, we're absolutely beautiful. My whole family had a fantastic time. We did the hour and a half Landmarks Tour, & we'll definitely have to come back for the two hour tour.

Jian Yi Zhang

A very pleasant and affordable way to spend a couple of hours in NYC. The guide Andy was very knowledgeable and helpful during the Best of NYC cruise, which unfortunately did not loop around the Harlem River due to high tides (Sunday September 1 2019).

Dejan Kulpinski

Must do when in NY. Really good way to see the city and hear a lot of stories about history and future of NY. We did a short tour from pier 82 on a regular ship (not power boat) which turned out to be just right for a 10 year old. It was a cloudy day with a bit of rain but that was not a problem - lots of covered deck areas to hide. The ship was 1/4 full on a Saturday morning in July.

Natasha Pippen

We got out there right before the rain storm. When taking off and docking you are inside. Once they are at a comfortable spot you are able to go outside. You get a beautiful view of the statue of liberty! This tour was well worth it!

Spencer Israel

Very informational. Did one hour tour so did not eat up a whole day. And was able to take great photos. I personally found it hard to see exactly what the guide was talking about as he walked around so much. Yes I could have walked around as well but with my nephew made that hard. I would do it again or maybe longer tour next time. Ps also got some vitamin d.

Dave Cheney

The tour itself was awesome! However we heard virtually nothing from the speakers on the boat. We were left to our own devices to figure out what they were saying. We were at the stern just a few feet from the overhead speakers and still could not understand 75% of what was said. Please either put additional speakers on your boats or make them easier to hear.

Joseph Butler

Very good crew. We took the night cruise that left at 7 and back by 9. The tour guide for the boat was very knowledgeable and friendly. Overall great cruise.

Joy Gaffney

Great tour here. Guide Joe absolutely full of knowledge. We had fantastic weather on our trip and great visibility.

RTM

Fantastic! If you love this city, do this. We had perfect weather. Buy tix on like, lady tried to charge me $35 @ gate, go online and get them for $15

Mikhail Wilson

We took the Harbor lights cruise. Really good cruise to get good views of the City after dark. Overall a good experience. Minor pain points: Wait time to enter the cruise, uncomfortable seating, not worth it if you have a toddler, the ticket costs about $30 for kids above 3 years.

Niecey Cole

Service was awful. Ran out of stuff 20 minutes after we got on. Beer was so warm. Don’t eat the pretzels you will break your teeth. People were nice but products are the worst. Need a better management team. Nothing was working properly. It was a mess. The whole team needs to be replaced

Heather de la Croix

Informative and entertaining guide. Really good perspective of the city. Adequate refreshments

kau kris1

Premium tickets are NOT worth it. You pay extra to sit in a "special" section that includes a server. You still have to pay crazy prices for the food and they add on 18% gratuity. Most of the time we stood up and went outside to get fresh air (because it is VERY hot in this section) Very disappointed with this tour experience. I would recommend just catching the subway to the Statue of Liberty. Not intended for kids. Ours were very bored.

Grant Beardwell

What a great informative site seeing cruise. The staff are very knowledgable and fun to listen to.

Anita Cecilia White-Lavine

Was my first time and truly enjoyed it will come back and go on cruise line again

Yehudis Milstein

Amazing, fun experience, beautiful scenery. Great for family, friends or dates. Captain was kind and historically informative. Would go again. Relaxing, enjoyable, pleasant, and smooth. Statue of Liberty pics And the boat picture is fantastic If you park in the circle line for $35 you can park there and go other places and pick up your car later. Enjoy!

FireandAviation TV

Circle line sunset tour simply the best to see the real New York from the Hudson and to see the Statue of Liberty up close from the boat . Ellis island and much much more . Pay for an upgrade get top deck if space available. Upgraded my girlfriend and I well worth it. Tour Guide that talks about the viberant history of New York your the best sir sorry didn't get your name. Pure class and style thank you so much

GARY ELDRIDGE

Lovely evening cruise watching the city light up. Perfect timing as statue of liberty lit up as we arrived, perfect timing or luck? Get there early to make sure you can get a good seat

Nick Greenfield

The wife and I went in the evening harbor cruise. It was wonderful! Excellent views of Manhattan, New Jersey, and the statue of liberty. The tour guide was excellent as well.

Christopher Addeo

We did the two-and-a-half-hour cruise around Manhattan. Trip was good, a smidge too long for little ones but good and not much Circle Line could do about that. Snacks and drinks on the boat are expensive but that too is to be expected. overall you had some really great views of downtown Manhattan and the statue of liberty as well as the Brooklyn bridge. Those were the highlights for me. As with any other trip with many tourists people can be annoying and rude. Would be nice if a circle line more strongly enforced their own policies for more crowd control. I would recommend this tour if you are OK with a 2.5 hour trip. We went on a nice day, it was beautiful.

Marc

Would have got 5 stars but the guys on the gates have bad attitudes. Wouldn't let us stand undercover in the rain for 8 min as we was too early. Apart from that the cruise itself was brilliant and informative too. Got some excellent pictures.

Fat-N Happy

We took the 2.5 hour around Manhattan tour. Great tour. Dave was excellent. Boat left at 1:31 with about 300 people and arrived at the exactly advertised 4:PM with the same number of passengers. History, insight and entertainment - who could ask for more.

Kushal Shah

Fantastic 2 hour tour on an open-top boat. Not much waiting in line. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Great views of NYC, Jersey City, and Statue of Liberty. Awesome night view of the city. Relaxing tour. One thing to remember is to bring a sweater if you are going on the evening cruise as it gets chilly by the end.

alex mills

Nice tour, could have done with spending a little bit more time by the statue of liberty and less in the top half of the island where there's less to see.

Mona Singleterry

Okay, we purchased from the website, not as an add on for an Express pass, etc. There were a lot of frustrated people in long lines who didn't make it on the boat. That said, the sunset tour was spectacular, worth every dime. If you want to hear the guide, make sure you sit near the front, that's where the speakers seemed to be. Also, by the turn around, everyone in the back has had a couple drinks and it gets very loud. Not difficult to get window seats, as everyone is going back and forth to the outside front deck, no saved seats. Wonderful, memorable cruise.

Blake Glass

Took the Landmark Cruise and it was fun and informative. We left the dock almost 10 minutes late while they let a few more people on, but it wasn't a problem.

Duayne Bellew

We have been to the Big City three times now and Circle line cruise is the first thing we do when we get there. For people that want to see alot in a short time this is it. We do the 2 1/2 hour cruise and it takes you all the way around Manhattan island you go under all of the bridges you have seen in the movies. The narrator is very informative and it really just makes a nice start to your vacation or business visit if that's what your on.......

Jonathan Hopewell

Took the 'best of NYC' tour and I would thoroughly recommend. The views are unlike anything wider the city can offer. I'd definitely arrive early if you want a good seat, as the boat goes around Manhattan Island anticlockwise; Views are no worse on the other side of the boat, however you may be fighting to get some good pictures of you're that way inclined. Only negative was the slow service in the canteen area. Given most people were simply buying snacks, this was a bit poor!

Christine Siewert

Loved it. Had an awesome tour guide who knew tons about NYC and Manhattan. You could tell how much he loves this place. A proud veteran turned radio DJ who was perfect for this gig. Great views of the city from the water too.

C A

This review is for the Landmarks Cruise. The tour started on time and the boat was large enough to be comfortable even when the water was a bit choppy. Our tour was only half full so there was plenty of room to move around. People were allowed to view from the bow, from the stern, from the outside upper deck, and from the temperature controlled lower cabin. Kids especially would enjoy exploring the boat. There are restrooms and a snack bar on board. During the 90 minute cruise we saw landmarks on both the Hudson and East rivers. We also sailed close to the Statue of Liberty. The tour guide was very informative.

Christine Lonsdale

Excellent cruise with entertaining but informative commentary. Recomend upgrading to premier - well worth the additional fee.

Tracey Becker

Amazing views of all parts of the city. Incredibly knowledgeable tour guide. 2 and 1/2 hours is way way way too long. Was there in over a hundred degree heat. Found plenty of ways to keep cool in the shade, indoors, and with cool drinks on board

Kenoshia Middleton

Rainy day but rain or Sunshine we enjoyed the tour. Very informative tour guide & great views of the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island. Friendly staff & reasonable price food. A must for tourist or your average New Yorker. Inexpensive too. Check it out.

Wendy Spence

This is a nice treat to see a large part of NYC. We did the Harbor Lights cruise. It was a $5 up charge if you used the C3 pass, but is included in the City Pass, and is half price for military. The guide, Andy, apparently the youngest of the guides was very good. He gave a great level of detail, and even provided some humor along the way. We went in March after daylight savings time, so we were able to experience sunset and the night settings.

Richard asl

Booked the rockin the river cruise on the 1 Aug. The Dark Desert Eagles made the evening cruise a memorable one. $35 for a 2 1/2 hr cruise around Manhatten and a close up of the Statue of Liberty. Well worth the money.

Caroline Layton

Really enjoyed the harbour lights evening cruise. Be aware though it gets very busy. If you want a decent seat I would get there about an hour early. Don't bother paying for premium seats. They are undercover and there are better seats on the boat. It does get really cramped up top but it's where the best views are. The cruise is leisurely and informative. As the sun sets it gets more and more beautiful. Lovely way to see the bridges and the Manhattan skyline. Recommended

Sarah Rogerson

Worth the money. It was so nice to see New York from the outside rather than in. Even if you are not sat at the top you can still get really good photos at the bottom. Wished we spent more time round the statue of liberty. Definitely recommend doing the 2.5 hour one.

Blake Brookshire

Amazing cruise! Its the best way to see NY, you get to see everything in one trip. Boats were extremely nice and the staff was great.

Frank Mullins

Very enjoyable boat trip, lots of fun, food and fellowship. Definitely will recommend to any and all

Robert Brown

Great sightseeing cruise. The guide really new his stuff, we did the night tour, the light were just amazing.

Julia Candea

I'm a born new yorker, but I've never seen the city like this before. I went for a great party on the boat but also became a tourist in my own city. Highly recommend.

Gary H

This really was a great experience. The tour takes in all of the sights and the views are fantastic. The boat has a bar so you can sit on deck and enjoy a beer too. The guide provides a superb commentary over the PA which isn't too loud and compliments the sights perfectly. We took the shorter cruise but was the perfect amount of time and one of the best experiences of our stay

jordan diaz

The single most boring tour in NYC. Sodas are 5$ and alcohol is 9$. So bring lots of cash if you've made the mistake of booking this tour already and need to numb the painful monotony. The highlight was the view of the statue of liberty, which is much easier to view from the boat than on the island itself. Otherwise, nothing to write home about.

Christie Kane

Very cool experience! Would definitely recommend the Best of NYC tour. Takes you by boat all around Manhattan island. You get to see things that you cant see from land!! Would definitely recommend!! Polite staff and the serve food and drinks.

jason Yun

I am a taxi driver and I have a guest today and I came down to this place but I did not know that this place should not be a guest because there is no sign that there is not a guest if you do not get there and there is no sign that the taxi goes wherever the guest goes down, I gave this fine ticket to me. But the problem is that someone who looks similar to this guy is going to go, and I'm giving him a fine ticket because he's different in color from this person. It's definitely racial. I do not think that's what this is all about. Silver (African)

LEONIE JEAN-JACQUES

The views from the boat were amazing! Bill did an excellent job and was knowledgeable about the sights and buildings in NYC. The concession stand was a tad pricey but overall a great experience. Friendly employees and clean restrooms as well.

Sharna Willson

Paid for premier tickets which allows priority boarding and reserved seats with food/drinks server. Priority boarding came in handy as was a very hot day. However, that's where the advantage ended. Waited 45 mins for two bottle of water! Server blamed being the only one working and having to make the food herself. Fine, but they need another server at the beginning of the cruise. Could have got the drinks faster in the long queue! Apart from that, cruise was just ok - the narrator's tone was a bit monotonous at times. If you do this cruise, get standard tickets, get there about an hour early for good seats and bring your own drinks and snacks!

Anitha Josephine

The tour was a wonderful experience. All the staffs were very courteous. We went just around Statue of Liberty as it was not open for the public on that particular day. But the overall ride was good and enjoyable.

Sean Battles

Took the Cruise around Manhattan Island, 2.5 hours. Excellent. Boat was clean and comfortable. Our tour tour guide, Joe, was fantastic. Highly recommend this cruise

Tinia Heath

We booked a last minute 2 hour tour for my daughters 8th birthday and she had a great time. I was nervous because it was my first time on a boat. This wasn’t as bad as my mind made it out to be. We were seated on the upper level and there was minimal rocking . There’s food and alcohol on both levels and ample seating for everyone . The kids enjoyed this so much they want to do it again .

Christina Elias

Such a wonderful experience! The landmark tour was amazing and the tour guide was informative and funny. Definitely worth the price. The washrooms on board were also sparkling clean, which was a very nice bonus. Can't recommend this enough!

Amanda Golding

The cruise was brilliant. You felt you were right next to the Statue of Liberty. There was commentary on board and the beautiful view of the Freedom Tower was awesome with the NY skyline.

Jake

The best of New York boat ride gave us amazing views of all over Manhattan. We got the best views of the Statue of Liberty from our trip aboard the boat! The big negative, was the concession pricing on the boat... it was more expensive than Yankees stadium for basic items which is ridiculous. Not to mention the concession was horribly understaffed the entire time we were out so it took 30-40 minutes to get a simple drink.

Gerrit and Stacy Smith

Very good experience. We had excellent views of the Statue of Liberty. The folding chairs were a bit surprising to see on a cruise, but it was not a negative. The cruise felt short. They had food for sale, but the short time on the boat made me question if it was worth buying any. The employees were nice and friendly. The whole operation seemed to work efficiently.

Mark Hughes

It would have been so much better if the commentary had been able to be heard and understood over the hubbub of tourists talking loudly in various languages. The few bits we were able to hear sounded interesting. The sights were good.

renee kroll

A really good cruise experience. I came here as a chaperone on my daughter's field trip to NYC. It was an amazing way to see the area. I would definitely do this again on my own.

Alan Houghton

Great cruise up the Hudson, past the statue of liberty and up the other side to Brooklyn bridge. Very enjoyable, get a good seat outside if you can.

Mary Rivera

Awesome experience, very informative. Went on the 2.5 hour cruise, well worth the time. Food not so much. Overall a great experience. The only downfall is on the ticket it said it was gonna stop at the Statue of Liberty but it did not, but was close enough for a great photo op.
