After initially booking a cruise to Alaska through NCL, I recalled that I had used CruCon for a prior cruise. I contacted CruCon, and they were able to add several incentives, which NCL did not offer. Working with CruCon, I was able to submit transfers from NCL, and the overall cost was comparable to the NCL price. I completed the necessary paperwork by the next day, and in the end, the cruise, incentive credits ect were perfectly handled. CruCon has an excellent customer service department, which was able to answer several questions I had prior the cruise. Thanks to Molly Angotta and the CruCon staff.

I gave the cruise as a gift to my husband for his birthday. And while we had sailed RCC before we have never been on a mega ship. It was a new learning curve in terms of entertainment, amenities and crowd but we were both up for the challenge. I unzipped everything I had previously known or experienced in the 20 plus past cruises and embraced the moment. I got to tell you . . . it was amazing!!! The ship was so inviting and we tried to do everything. The staff and service matched the amenities. The shows were mind blowing in terms of set, music, costumes, talent and skill. We opted not to get off the ship while in port to take advantage of the empty ship. Turned out to be a great decision. My favorite two parts of the ship were Central Park and the Solarium. Loved the crickets, gentle breeze and twinkle lights in the evening in the park. One night there was live music. A man playing a Spanish guitar with a small band. I never wanted it to stop. I loved the solarium pools, the bar and restaurant and the cabanas were a nice touch. But the most compelling aspect of this cruise were the other passengers. They were open, friendly, kind, thoughtful, just plain happy and at times so funny. We laughed and talked in the elevators, at the pools, waiting in line for the shows, at the various venues and passing in the hallways. It made my experience that much richer and left a desire to return again sometime in the future. In all the years of cruising I have never experienced anything like it.

This was the first time I had the “perks” that were not booked through the cruise line. I had some concerns that Celebrity might not honor the CruCon perks. They fully honored them, and they let upgrade the drink package to Premium at my expense. I would definitely use CruCon in the future.

Just got back from 5 days on the Norwegian Sky. The ship was the smallest we have been on. Staff & Management were the most friendly, energetic and overall fantastic to be around. Much better than the Epic that we sailed last Spring. They were ALL miserable. The Boat needs to be refurbished soon. The rooms were small but comfortable. The food was average but the kitchen was as huge as other ships. The Comedian was fabulous. Everyone liked him, Rodney from NJ. The dance Team were fabulous but entertainment not up to par with big ships. The piano player had a huge dancing crowd. Everyone was happy. He seemed to be fabulous. It was frustrating to have back to back Customs ports. Lots of hurry up and wait. Coming back from Cuba, no one checked what liquor or cigars we had and never took any of it to keep until end of cruise. We were all nervous for nothing. No pushing , shoving for pool chairs was wonderful. Everyone was calm. Fun to get to know so many people when you are in smaller setting.

Just because a ship is New doesn't mean it's Better. They are trying to build ships for the Next Generation (post Baby Boomers) and have thrown the baby out with the bath water. If you Love the front Sky Lounge on the older Celebrity Ships you will discover you are Not Permitted in the Front of the EDGE unless you are a Big Spender. The multi story Main Dining Room with it's open air and grand Staircase has been replaced by 4 Theme Restaurants that are cramped, dark and all serve the same food? What's the Point? To access the Eden lounge in the back of the ship you have to go through a long dark mirrored hallway like a Fun House at the boardwalk filled with globular gold trees. We called it the Halloween Forest. The Interior of the ship was designed by a woman who had never done a Ship before and it shows. The ship looks like a Corporate Office Building inside. The Only art work in our cabin was a Black and White Photo in the Bathroom. The outside elevator/lounge called the Magic Carpet-does not Move and is so windy while the ship is moving you can't sit out there. Found out Everyone has to Get Off before they can move it up or down. in 10 days I never saw it move. Some Magic that is. The Captain admitted the Magic Carpet is pretty useless But it was the brain Child of the CEO of Celebrity and who's going to tell Him it's a stupid idea? The Good points are that the Stage in the Main Theater has been moved out into the seats so you feel closer to the performers. Celebrity Food and Entertainment are Always great. I will continue to Sail with Celebrity but Only on their Older ships.
