Another must see. Amazing natural wonder!
A must visit if you’re close to Vegas. So worth the drive
A herd of bighorn sheep passed right in front of us, really cool
We visited beginning if September and it's still very hot during the day. We had some good hikes (wear good hiking shoes) and explored the petrylographs and the beautiful rocks. Saw some big Horn sheep feeding and the fire wave rocks were beautiful. The pictures came out really nice. We only did a day trip but you can do camping as well.
Great park with amazing rock formations. It's well worth the trip. Bring water and sunscreen.
Worth the trip. Make sure you bring a bottle of water if you plan on hiking even if it is a short hike . The Red Rock Mountains. Gorgeous ! Lots if hiking trails to choose from.
My first visit. Wow how beautiful. Will go back. I love it
It's a small visitor center with information about the park, and other local information. You can pick up some light snacks, cold beverages, and sandwiches in the gift shop. Restroom facilities are available and also places to fill up your water bottles.
Awesome vistor center with lots of educational exhibits
This place is beautiful. Trails for hiking, camp sites for campers, nice roads for those who like to drive and view with plenty of facilities. We saw groups in limos taking wedding photos, bicyclists, bikers, muscle car enthusiasts, young couples, old couples, families, pets and individuals. This is a great place to bring a snack and chill. The visitor center has a fridge with decent snack and drinks for those in need. Plenty to see and knowledge on hand. First aid station for those in need. Gourmet Carmel at 3 pieces for $.99's.
Very informative. Lots of artifacts from the area and information about the people who lived there.
Great place to visit.... Visit it first to learn about the valley and it's geography.
Definitely the place to start when visiting the area. Lots of information about the local trails and sights.
This place is one of a kind go here whenever you're in Vegas not too far but it feels like you're in Mars absolutely incredible State Park
The visitor center is a nice facility. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, informative exhibits, Small gift shop and restrooms.
Just an absolute fantastic drive. Such awesome hikes. You can spend a week here and not get it all in. I highly recommend getting out there.
This is a inspiring landscape that was unknown to me until I passed the sign on the road. Too good to pass up ever again
National Park pass is not accepted, State park fee, need to pay $10.00 during entrance. Beautiful bright red coloured rock formation, totally different than Zion or Death valley.
Best place to see wild life
The landscapes are out of this world...looks like Mars as depicted in the movies. It was reaching 100f when we were there so it kind of limited our hiking.
Great experience, awesome park, take time to visit and also consider early or late hours for picturesqe sun light situations.
loved it. was great to see
I would recommend the Valley of Fire. Get out of the casinos and take a short drive to see some incredible views.
You have to visit, beautiful area with interesting views
Valley of Fire is such an awesome sightseeing location. The views are absolutely astounding. The visitation center was clean and easily accessed even by oversized vehicles. In addition, all of the Rangers we encountered were very polite and helpful. Entrance to the park is $10 per vehicle and was quick and easy. The roads are paved and relatively smooth and parking at viewpoints was almost always available. This is a great place to visit and hike.
This is an interesting little Center that informs you about the history both prehistoric and up to the modern day, shows you examples of the local flora and fauna, and gives you an overview of the park. It is unfortunate it does not put more emphasis on people not destroying and defacing the natural beauties that they see there with their graffiti
Very informative. Great customer service.
Was a decent nature center.
Surprisingly a unique center has some good history live animals great art work
What a wonderful park - perfect for an adventure while in Vegas. Pack water and enjoy the trails!
Fabulous but HOT!
Had lots of information about the local wildlife, a nice little gift shop.
Valley of fire is a great place to on motorcycle. After your visit here then drive towards lake mead and from there head towards south of Las Vegas. You will then enjoy an amazing scenery and twisty roads that are perfect for motorcycles.
This place is awesome, very unique area. Lots of wildlife.
Good little bit of history of the area. Helpful rangers. Good place to get out and research a little bit to see where to go next. Clean restrooms just outside and inside. Great views.
Go early! Like sun up early. Dont wait for the visitor center to open. It's not open until 9am, and if you wait to get your details of where to go it will already be too hot. On most of the trails, the first few hundred feet are the worst because of the thick sand. Press on, it gets better. Spectacular views. Amazing how the different layers and colors all intermix.
Good stopping point..A good ways inside the Park if you are stopping frequently and taking pictures.
Informative and well maintained visitor center that tells the history of the park.
Beautiful landscape and plenty of good hiking trails
Very pretty not much information on the park
Very informative with nice staff.
Here you can grab unique snacks, see the live snakes and walk around and explore the amazing rock formations and colors.
Nice point for photography
Very interesting place.
Very informative nice staff and gift shop.
Beautiful scenery with spring flowers blooming and a background of fantastic landscapes. Great for short walks or long hikes.
Be sure to grab a map of the trails they're quite informative
A really nice place to see. Nice trials and beautiful views. Highly recommend going in the winter as I hear summers are 100 ++
I love this place beautiful views
The rangers are very helpful however they close The visitor Center so early. They closed at 4:30 when I was there.
Gorgeous views of nature with lots of colors. Great information at visitor place
Nice place but very hot. Informative place. Awesome view.
Good information and gift shop too
Want great desert vistas, prime hiking not too far from LV? Go here, many have, it's NV's first state park. Even way back they realized Valley of Fire special. This place won't disappoint.
Good information and beautiful place
The visitor's center is a great stop in the park. The displays are informative and cover geological and human history of the park. The gift shop is nice. There's a short trail to hike just behind the shop and rocks to climb on. Worth stopping by.
I'm from Minnesota so this place was like being on another planet. I was in awe of the beauty in this park.
Awesome, saw a herd of big horn sheep.
Great place to camp but visit during Spring or Fall
Great park, the visitors center itself was nice as well. Had nice exhibits with some very interesting info about the park. They also had reasonably priced cold drinks! However, I did feel like the gift shop was lacking in items that pertained to the park. Had more bs than nice park themed gifts. All around great park and decent visitors center.
Gorgeous landscape, but didn't go into the Visitor Center as it was closed.
Great place to stop for a rest and use the sparkling-clean restrooms here. That’s why we stopped, and then we took a little stroll around. Walk down toward the main highway and you’ll see some fascinating rock formations as well. It’s well worth the stop. Beautiful area overall!
Very informative. Cool, calming and refreshing stopover from a trip or walkabout.
Great place to visit
International destination with captivating vistas of beautiful desert rock formations--a must if visiting the Las Vegas area. Calming & peaceful... Bring your best camera or En Plein Air.
Great place to take a day trip to when in Vegas. Beautiful scenery. Lots of places to explore. Spent all day checking out each spot. It does cost to get in the park so bring cash. Visitor center has water fill up station, but it's basically a garden hose.
Amazing place for photography. Not to be attempted in hot weather. You can get heatstroke here in a very short time. If hiking more than a short distance, come prepared!
Good information at the visitor center. Park is very scenic.
Only an hour drive from Las Vegas. This place is hidden treasure.
This was an excellent place to go hiking. Even though I was hungover, the fresh air and infinite wandering possibilities sobered me up. Great landscape for photos or climbing and hiking. Several different stops along the road find the good areas. The visitor center was nice to providing lots of information about the history of the area if you're looking for that sort of thing. I will be back to bring my friends here next time I visit.
Great info and cute gift shop. All the proceeds go back I to the park which is great.
Very nice set up. Staff very helpful
Very cool to check out! Amazing hikes amongst the red rocks! Worth checking out while in Las Vegas!
Nice rock formations.
I would definitely recommend stopping by if you've never been. A little dated but otherwise very good info and friendly folks.
Nice little place where you can park your car to use the bathroom or get any information you're missing regarding the Valley of Fire.
Beautiful....have an SUV or 4wd drive. Many roads are paved but there are some were 4wd is needed..but that makes it fun. Highly recommend if you want to get away from the lights of Sin City for a few hours.
Really wonderful visit...will return here
One of the best place, very beautiful landscape, must visit place. It is only 1 hour 30 min drive from the Las Vegas.
Amazing. History lesson. Loved it
What a beautiful place. So unique. This park is easy to navigate and has a nice visitor center. There are two campgrounds that have sites nestled into the red rocks. Each site has a permanent cement canopy over a cement picnic table. There are no trees so be aware of that if wanting to camp in the summer. The park is 5 miles from Lake Mead, 50 miles from Las Vegas, about 65 miles from Hoover Dam and 130 miles from Zion National Park, it is central to a variety of human-made and natural attractions.
If you're passing through Nevada or on your way to Arizona you definitely need to see this place. Put it on your bucket list because it's something you won't be able to see anywhere else in the world. This place holds 150 million years of land that you'll get to experience first hand. Don't be afraid to climb and explore a bit to get to the must see views.
Beautiful, A must see so close to Vegas
One of the most beautiful parks around.
Must place to visit if you are visiting Las Vegas! i saw lots of cars come here just to drive inside the park!
LV is not just about gambling & shows. There are a lot of outdoor activities, Valley of Ire & Red Rock have great trails for hiking.
Visitor Center was open even when it was the shutdown. Of all national and state parks! But the Valley of Fire is the most beautiful, stunning display God's Great Talent!
The best National Park visitor centre I have been too. Great displays and dioramas. Staff informative and friendly.
Beautiful rock formations aginst a deep blue sky provides a joyful experience for the photographer as well as the average hiker. All the highlighted sites are within a short hike from the road. There is a mini slot canyon that is definitely worth the 1.5 mile hike. The Wave trail is a must which provides a preview of The Wave in Arizona. The color of sky on a clear day is simply amazing.
Fantastic, open park, with lots to see and do. Be prepared to hike and climb. The trails do have a fair bit of sand on them so plan accordingly.
Such an awesome part clean nice beautiful
Good information center for helping the tourist of Valley of fire (a Nevada state national Park). It's very small compared to other national Parks. It is okay if you skip this place. But grateful to be in wait list for those who are intended in deep geological study and history of this place. Numbers of points are here for hiking. It's entrance fee is $10 per car.
Awesome place to see what Valley of Fire has to offer. #AmazingBigIdea
As someone who is from Florida, with little or no desert experience, Valley of Fire is a wonder. The beauty of this area is amazing. I was surprised at the plant life. My visit was way too short, but I know if I pass this way again Valley of Fire will be tops on the list.
Excellent, friendly staff. Park is beautiful!
The valley is cool when you get a chance you should go
Love the information center! Was very informative. The kids loved the show cases as well.
Very helpful rangers. She was able to point me in the right direction for trails that are kid friendly. There's a mini-store inside. There are also a set of restrooms inside as well as outside. These restrooms have running water unlike the ones around the park which are basically porta-potties. Also, this is a State Park and not a National Park. This is important to know if you are planning to use a national pass for entrance. National Passes are NOT accepted and you will need to pay the $10/car entrance fee (No fees for individuals).
Valley of Fire is a real natural beauty...competes with the likes of grand canyon and sedona, az.
Great visitor center. Lots of info and a few live critters. Great trail map.
Very hot would be great to hike but too hot to hike
You have to see it to believe how beautiful this adventure is
Awesome. 1 hour ride from Vegas not 5 hours for Grand Canyon. Feels like backdrop for old cowboy movies.
Great place for a family. Very clean and informative. So pretty
I can't recommend this place enough! A must see. I can't wait to go back
Stopped here for lunch and we had the view of that huge fiery rock while eating our lunch. They have galleries inside to see the history and they give maps. There were bathrooms too. Nice stop before you start to explore further of the state park.
Wow! So close to Las Vegas!!!! A great place to go for the day to get out of the city. Hikes are wonderful and the photo opportunities are amazing.
It's a great trip for a day. Bring extra water. Much to see. Stop in the visitors center
Amazing view and scenery
Awesome place to learn the geology and history of the park and land surrounding it. Employees were very friendly and helpful.
The mountains and trails are all so beautiful and there os no way to get lost as long as you stay near the trail. Little kids love playing in the soft dirt.
The visitor center has good information about the place. I wish the store has more rocks to choose from given the fact that it has all about sedimentary rocks.
Was too hot for hiking so if that is the main reason you are coming make sure to check the weather first!
Beautiful area. Interesting presentation
Love the Valley of Fire! Scenic route is gorgeous. Mountains and petroglyphs!
Awesome area well worth the time to explore. Come during the week.
One of Earth's natural beauties..like I said in a previous post please leave it how u found it. It only stays that way, that way. I am updating my post about the valley of fire, apparently I did not get to see all the area has to offer. Really regretting not taking the trail ( due to my fear of falling) wish I would have been able to see the beautiful lake that I only personally got to see on from anothers posts. Big mistake on my part. Will definitely face my fears the next time and conquer to experience it next time.
Amazing! Make sure to pick up your NV State Park Passport!
Excellent place to visit when in Vegas only about 35-40 minutes north of strip.
Great scenery. Visit center has a gift shop, but also a nice nature exhibit and a history tour of the park. Great for all ages!
The people here are a wealth of information. They can help you plan your day according to the abilities of the people in your party.
Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes. What a beautiful place to go visit! I absolutely loved hiking here with my family. So much to see and so much Beauty. We took lots and lots of pictures. Some of the pictures had my family members in it. But some of the pictures only had nature in it. That's the really nice thing about this park is that you get to decide who is in your picture. A couple times I took pictures of strangers because I thought they looked like really nice people.
Great pleace,be sure to visit
Great place to start your trip through the park.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Informative exhibits.
Beautiful. Great hikes camping fun for all
Nature's beauty on display. Great place to hike and explore
Great experience. Definitely recommend.
If you want to experience other world (called Mars) - this is the place. It feels like you are on planet red! Also for a change I did see a lot of birds and a scene where a Raven ate a sparrow. Having said so - this place is protected from all civilization and I saw a lot of people hangout in their RVs. Also lake Mead is close by. It's a must detour from Vegas - especially if you like to be amongst pristine nature.
If you visit Vegas.. then checking out the Valley of Fire is a must see. So beautiful, and just literally middle of nowhere GIANT RED ROCKS!!
While the visitor center is nice with good info they have to make it easier to find maps. We stopped here just to pick up a park map and it took us 15min to find one.
One of the better visitor centers, because it has a nice view and is right next to a pockmarked face of red Rock.
People visiting Vegas must go there. An awesome place specially afternoon.
A beautiful center in a beautiful location, I only wish I'd arrived in time to go inside. The rocks right at the building are pretty wild, plus the side roads start right by the parking lot. Sundown really brings out the colours in the rocks, but be sure to give yourself a little extra time to take it all in since the park closes a little earlier than some others.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Bathrooms clean. Enjoyed visiting the gift shop...
Amazing! Camping, hiking and so much more
Amazing Culture, History and of course the views. Please. I recommend to hike or just a drive. There is a small fee for entering park, and its just for the car, not per person. The momeries are breath taking. I have more pictures on the real cam. Cell cam well, sorry it really does not pay tribute to what it really feels to be here. If back here again I will stop in again
Nice spacious Visitors Center; get a souvenir stamp on your paper guide sheet for the Park. Wonderful introduction to special geology. Excellent parking. Only one way in and one way out, so hope no fire or car crash happens and visitors can't escape.
Amazing place!! Greets vom germany :-)
I always wanted to visit this place....summers are hot need to carry lot of water...either sunrise or sunset is the time to capture beautiful pictures and amazing views
Excellent place to learn about the people animals and vegetation that have inhabited the valley of fire. Also interesting facts about its formation. Wish we had more time to spend there.
Very nice but scorpion suckers?
If you have not been to this state park, you have not been to Vegas. Worth the 1 hour easy drive and $10 to get into the park. Very nice visitor center and the park ranger was very helpful. Park itself was stunning...like a mini-Moab but not so mini.
Did some road biking here. Spectacluar Red Stone Rocks. Definitely woth to go here.
Pretty cool visitor center in a gorgeous area, there's a lot to see inside and out.
I love this park, its one of my favourites. Even when it rains, its beautiful. The staff are very nice and friendly, especially Thomas, a big hello from France, will be back in December!
Loved it! Learned so much about the history, the rocks & the animals. Turns out the Chipmunks are not Chipmunks! They are Antelope ground squirrels!
Fantastic place to visit. So close to Las Vegas.
Pretty good explanation of origins of the area & what to see.
Stopped on the way to Zion and weren't expecting too much but both Fire Wave and Pastel Canyon were impressive.
Nice bike ride there.. what a view
Amazing rock formations
Great and knowledgable staff. The visitor center has great explanations for the different types of geography you'll see in the park. It's a great resource for the history and topography of the area and will make your visit to the park that much more significant.
A great place to visit. It is small and not too far off the main highway. It is more personable and not over run with too many people, so it is more peaceful and serene. The scenery, rock, slot canyon hike, and petroglyphs were my favorite. Very happy we stopped to visit! We visited in October which was perfect temperature. I think it could get pretty hot in summer months.
Very nice there. Very informative about how the Valley of Fire was formed.
Most of the scenic areas are easily driven to. Also many of the overlooks have bathrooms and picnic areas. The park can be very busy though.
Love this place..so beautiful..definitely worth a visit when in Las Vegas.
There's a lot of fascinating information here and the people are also helpful. I definitely recommend stopping in, you can get a drink and snacks as well.
