DO NOT USE EXPEDIA!! I used to have great service. They did not purchase the flight I was guaranteed 60 days ago, They put you on hold with over seas customer service only to drop the call once it is finally transferred state side. These people are crooks. I am filing complaints with the Attorney General, BBB and Chamber of Commerce.

Expedia's customer service management in their Nevada office is the worse I have ever experienced in my 15+ years in customer service. When trying to escalate an unfortunate situation regarding a booked itinerary, Katherine (supposedly a manager at their corporate Nevada office) was rude and treated me with ridicule. Really surprised at the lack of professionalism and customer service from such a large travel agency. Will never book another flight from Expedia again.

Absolutely horrible customer service! We had two itineraries with the same outgoing flight (different return legs), and the airline sent a schedule change for the outgoing flight. On one itinerary, the schedule change was correctly reflected; however, on the other, the outgoing flight was cancelled entirely. I phoned Expedia customer service, and they said the flight had been cancelled. I told them to look at the other itinerary and see that it was not cancelled but rather the schedule had changed. They looked and acknowledged that that appeared to be the case, but said I would have to call the airline and pay a rebooking fee to schedule onto another flight, which I said was ridiculous. I called the airline, and they fixed the issue free of charge, but shortly after, the flight was cancelled again. Not wanting to deal with Expedia again, I phoned the airline directly and had them fix it and confirm that it was Expedia sending the erroneous request. I decided to phone back Expedia to try to have them look into why their system kept sending a cancellation. The person I spoke to was incredibly rude and hung up on me. Fortunately, after several attempts, the airline was able to block Expedia out entirely so our flight would stop being cancelled. Of course Expedia still denies any wrongdoing. In fact, the most I've gotten so far is a line about how they will use my feedback to continue to further improve their products, but judging by the plethora of similar complaints I'm finding, that is not likely to be the case. I will never use their service again without major changes being made. Just hoping to save someone else the frustration of dealing with them.

I recently had a major service issue with Expedia which I was very surprised to encounter considering the reputation of the leadership. Service issue: I called Expedia on March 9th to cancel a trip to Puerto Rico. which was 9 days off. I waited 1 hour to get through to speak with a service rep. who then put me on hold for an hour to get a hold of a supervisor, who then took an hour to cancel my trip for my 2 hotel rooms and flight. Service person said they could not reimburse for flight but could cancel the rooms. I asked that Expedia cancel the complete trip. Supervisor confirmed the flight and the two hotel rooms were canceled and that I would receive a refund for the two hotel rooms.I asked that they retrieve the service voice recording to show that the Sale Rep stated no less than three times that the trip could be cancelled in its entirety with 7 days notice. and to have this escalate to an officer of the company to call me back. They stated they would have someone get back to me immediately and the recording would take 5-10 days to pull and they would follow-up with me. They did nether. Now things go further downhill I get my AMX bill and the service person only cancelled one of the rooms on March 9th. I am now considered a no show at the hotel. It gets worse. They never canceled the flight and now Jet Blue considers me a no show. In the service notes read by the service rep is documented to cancel the whole reservation. How did the service supervisor only cancel part of the trip? I then called and spoke to corporate service who actually said I did not show up for the Hotel and Flight and I am responsible - of course I did not show up because I cancelled the trip. He then ask me to stay on the phone to call the airline and hotel to ask on my behalf if they will reimburse me. Have you ever heard of another company calling one of their vendors to ask for them to reimburse the costumer for their mistake and blame the costumer for their issue. I went through the same absurd discussion with the corporate service department with similar wait times. So far the following the following people have not followed up multiple times to close the service issue w: service, corporate service and SVP of Service

This by far the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I EVER RECEIVED, an off-shore customer support that don't give a damn about customer service. I was put on hold for an hour "system can not locate itinerary" and website is useless..until call dropped!! called again next day, to no avail. This is NOT the first , neither second nor third time that I use Expedia service and Im really dissapointed and frustrated. I have booked a flight , long trip with them, and just one hour and half before i headed to the airport, i recieved a email from the carrier airlines, British Airways that my flight is cancelled. I have already managed and payed my transfer to JFK of course by that time. I called the toll free number, and it was not toll free, which costed me alot on my global number credits as i found after the call. The Flight was changed , however, it was changed to the following day, which i understand because ts international, however, Expedia did not manage my accomodation for the extra night i stayed in the hotel, actually my hotel was fully booked : crown plaza manhattan and i had to look on line for another hotel , instead of them looking it for me. I have also missed my reservation for that night in Italy, and I had to pay for my extra night in here, I lost my time, and I can not even reach them because their automated system does not recognize my number. Expedia didn't send my flight info to the airline, meaning I had to spend an hour on the phone with the airline to ensure I had seats, etc. Expedia never told me my flight had changed. Expedia's website instructions re how to change/cancel hotels, or request specific seats, are simply wrong. Expedia doesn't pick up the phone.

I am 61 years old and have never experienced such poor customer service. They are the most incompetent people I have ever met. I will never ever use them again. We booked a flight 4 months ago and were informed that the airlines had deleted that flight. After days and literally hours on the phone we have not gotten any cooperation or e-mail concerning our new flight. The representatives have very poor English skills and make promises that they don't keep. They have our money but we have no flight. You can't even get someone at the corporate office.

Gave me a reservation for a car company that closes at 12am and my plane landed at 11:40. Did not find out until I got there and I had to rent somewhere else for double the price. I was stranded until 4am in 30° weather until I find another car. Horrible customer support.

In time I book this trip. I spoke with two agents that assure me that I definitely have kosher meals on my trip. Additionally i spoke with Virgin Atlantic representative and got confirmation that kosher meal ordered. Additionally i can see this in my VA apps in my smartphone. But when I boarded in TLV i found that there are no kosher meals. Ground personal was extremely rude and refuse to help. When i arrived to LHR 13 hr before vs003 flight I contact VA manager and she promise me that i get kosher food, more than on boarding time i Check and it was kosher food. But in plain there was no kosher food for me. i strictly keep kosher so instead of enjoy the trip i was starving for 30 hours. it was a very difficult situation. I can't bring my food due to security and custom rules, and I can't buy it in Heathrow, so instead of enjoying the trip i was tortured by starvation for 30 hours. It's not first time expedia do this to me. but in this time VA send me letter that i stay w/o food due to expedia mistake

Trying to upgrade a car as part of a package I booked is next to impossible. The website doesn't even have the phone number to call. I found it doing a web search, then got put on hold forever.I tried the call back service... it is well over the timeframe they gave, and still waiting. I also have not been able to get an itemized receipt. I used to like this site but won't be using it forever from here on.

Booked a flight on air canada through Expedia with a stop, basically all through Air Canada, had a friend die in the interim and had to change the front end of the flights to accommodate his funeral. I eliminated the stop and went more direct, and maintained the same return flights. Original cost was $1243.79', additional change fees charged by #Expedia $794.05 for a total cost of $2037.84. As I had no options, as they were the booking agent and I had to get to my destination, I paid. I followed up with #Expedia customer service department and I was left on hold forever, was required to talk with argumentative people with strong accents. Took three people to talk to someone in North America, his name was John, and "John" confirmed to me that "what they did financially" was what they do. A normal return trip from EDM to Ottawa to Dullas Washington is about $1000. I believe that their customer service is terrible and that by using them I cost myself a lot of money in this situation. Make sure everything is as it is supposed to be and be prepared for financial repercussions if things go array. I did not have a good experience. #Aircanada #expedia

Just booked a flight for $200 bucks as a guest. Expedia prompted me to sign into my account and when I did, the itinerary disappeared. Went to book it again and the price was $240. Called customer service and was told it was the airline that changed the price. Never using this site again.

They are very knowledgeable and patient as I always have multiple reservations to make for quite a few people at my job. I am not sure why the other reviews are so low. I will continue to make reservations through expedia.

My husband and I went out of town and overbooked by one day. Contacted Expedia got disconnected three times and spoke to three different Expedia agents, all of which had serious language barriers. Finally, after three hours on the phone were able to receive a refund for the extra day... But then hey hiked the rate up from what we originally agreed to, so our refund was less. Had to argue and argue to get the confirmed rate we had already paid for. Then they issued a refund and here we are two weeks later with no refund, and Expedia saying it's our banks problem and our bank saying they haven't issued any refunds to our account. Can't get ahold of anyone who knows anything and customer service is joke. Part of customer service isn't just being nice but actually being useful too. We will NEVER NEVER NEVER EVVVVVEEER BOOK WITH THEM AGAIN. They are a joke for a travel agency.

I spoke with Mary at Expedia to change my hotel accommodations, she was very pleasant and accommodating, she called the hotel on my behalf and was able to secure the change with no additional charges or fees. She stayed on the line with me to note my reservation, and gave me the rep at the hotels name, and remained me my updated reservation. Thank you Mary, so appreciate all your help!

Their service is the worst!!! Twice I've had to change a reservation that I had. I tried doing it online and the icons that you're supposed to click on wouldn't work. It's almost impossible to find a phone number for them, I did and tried to leave a message in the general mailbox and it kept kicking me out without letting me leave a message. I then opted to talk to an agent and the phone rang probably 50 times and no one ever picked up and it never went to voice-mail. What a nightmare!!!

I booked a full package of flight and hotel for my wife and myself and another couple, from NY to Dominican Republic and back. When weather cancelled my flight, Expedia did nothing to rebook me with another airline and said that I had to go with the original airline, JetBlue who had no flights until 3 days later. They also said that I was responsible for the hotel as well since I did not cancel previously. I asked what can you do to help me and really nothing was offered. I was able, on my own, to book another flight for more money on another airline and got out a day early. Expedia was supposed to credit me back for my original cancelled tickets but keep my reservation for the return flight in effect. Expedia did not process the credit and I had to call the airline directly to get it sent. Also, they did cancel my return flight reservations even though I told them not to and that I was keeping the hotel reservations as well. When I went to check in to the return flight, I found that Expedia had canceled my and my wife's reservation but not the other couple's reservation which makes no sense. Luckily the airline was able to fit me on the plane in the last row. I would never use expedia again.

booked a mystery hotel..won tickets to stagecoach 4 hours later. called to ask for cancellation even though it was absolutely not supposed to be allowed and was told after 30 min all was well and confirmation of cancellation would be short to follow. there was literally one room left near stagecoach so i grabbed it and when following back up on the cancellation i was told no such request had been received or processed. Waited for 1 hour for a supervisor to "confirm" my claim and was disconnected. called back and corporate office agreed to cancel if i got the hotel on board which she insisted would never happen. Well, it did but now DeDee at the corporate office says thats not what she said. Seems to be a company staple. Had i been told my reservation was not able to be cancelled as I feared I would have been okay with it but the fact that they said it was cancelled and now after 6 hours of back and forth resulting in providing everything they say they needed they are just rude and all too happy to keep my $350 that the hotel will never see. Shameful.

I booked a flight with Expedia and had to pay extra with the airlines to get seat assignments. Either Expedia or the airline changed my flight and I had to pay again for seat assignments on the new flight. The airline wouldn't refund the money I paid for the first seat assignment on a flight I was no longer booked on! Spent over two and a half hours (mostly on hold) on two different days with three different Expedia agents trying to get a reimbursement. Finally Expedia's agent named Matthew was able to get me a refund for the first seat assignments. I did not like the fact that Expedia didn't let me know about the change of flight.I found out while I was going over my trip details. Had I known about the change earlier, I could have booked my seats without having to pay extra.

I book an hotel with free cancellation but they are not able to remove one night on it! I also should be able to cancel a flight for 24 hours after booking but thats only on the same date! That’s not 24 hours if you booked at 8pm. That’s not a trustable company!!! Try another one!

I could rant for quite a while about the mis-information, incorrect booking, and endless wait times on hold only to be disconnected. Instead, I will just say that the service, from the barely English speaking reps, is abysmal. Do not use Expedia unless you are 100% certain that you will have no issues that require assistance of any kind for the company. Be careful very shady business practice. After booking a 3 day trip to Jamaica the biggest blizzard of 2016 hit.. Travel ban and all flights cancelled . One would think that I would have been able to be refunded or given a credit for my hotel accomadation... Think again .. No ! After days and hours on hold I was out $1200 .. Be careful .. They are helpful when booking your trip but don't care once the funds are collected . Your on your own !!

Reserved a car in Dominican Republic through Expedia. It was just under $200 for two weeks. Other sites had cars in the mid-200 range, so I went with Expedia. I called to make sure there were no hidden fees - Gabby (whom I recorded), told me the $191 would be the total for the car for the entire time. So. When we got off the plane and found Economy, or Ameri-Rent, we were told at the counter it would be an additional $17 per day. As I'm a lawyer, I knew how to sign the contract without really signing. Turns out they charged my c.c. $438 which is more than $200 over the $27 per day they were trying to charge. I called Expedia and they basically said, tough luck. I will sue them in Small Claims for the amount and the time and any costs I incur suing them. Anyone who'd like to get in on a class action, reply to this comment. Let's get this horrific company. Expedia doesn't deserve anyone's patronage.

Expedia helped cover the cost of the hotel room rate increase when I had to change my travel dates. They literally paid for it (I canceled some week days and added some weekend nights). Hassle free phone call. It was an unexpected pleasantry. I'm stranded in a blizzard and don't feel as bad about it now. They changed my entire 2 and a half week trip without charging me any fees, even though I paid for the cheaper non-refundable hotel rate. Very satisfied and will be using Expedia again. -Note, they also had the least expensive room rates for every hotel I wanted to stay in, which is why I chose them to begin with. -The long phone call wait is because they have to call the hotels and get things taken care of over the phone. You can probably ask them to call you back if you don't want to wait. Also keep in mind, they are a travel agency and at the mercy of the hotels, airlines, car rentals companies, etc.

Absolutely horrific experience that I am still experiencing. EXPEDIA processed my payment and deducted the fee from my credit card without booking my hotel and reserving me a room. Hence, I paid for a phantom service and was defrauded. Then when I called to inquire, they redirected me and made me wait on hold for what they claimed would be 3-5 minutes, which was a horrendous lie. It's exactly at the 3 hour and 30 minute mark now as I wait to speak to someone named Lorraine from their Las Vegas Corparate HQ. I am so traumatized by this experience. How can you impinge on someone's time like that? Expedia Canada is the furthest thing from a Canadian customer experience. The agents I conferred with have no customer service etiquette and are even bordering rude. I now feel a responsibility to educate our potential clients to steer clear. I've used Travelocity and Flight Network and Sunwing Vacations and SellOffVacations, etc. without any of the same issues I experienced with EXPEDIA. I am a seasoned traveller, travelling domestically twice a week and internationally three times a year and only have experienced this maltreatment from this company. Steer clear.

I wish I could give 0 stars. Do yourself the favor and DON'T BOOK WITH EXPEDIA. Long story short, they do not confirm and update their website, so when I went to the hotel, the front desk said they had no rooms and Expedia should have updated their website. I booked three itineraries...all four months in advance. I was sent confirmations. However, five days before vacation, I went on line to print a voucher and by chance saw one of my three itineraries was cancelled. I have been speaking with agents and supervisors based in Costa Rica. literally now over seven hours either on hold or having to call people back. They have admitted that they caused the problem and even acknowledged that under no circumstance was I at fault. They have also recognized that no refunds were given to me. These reps in Costa Rica have attempted to put me in touch with corporate for the last two hours...I am still on hold. No resolution as of yet. What an outstanding "Happy Birthday" for my wife. Hopefully this gets resolved or attorneys will be involved. Lesson learned, find a human travel agent, pay a little more and avoid Expedia under all circumstances. You will likely see my name again soon once I have filed a lawsuit and informed any news reporting agency of the dangers of dealing with Expedia...will probably win a judgement, but will likely be a miracle if I collect......$8500.00 down the drain...thanks for taking advantage of yet another middle class citizen. Okay...a bit of a result?? They are getting me the two seats back for the airline. Turns out the reservation at the hotel was never cancelled. However, no seat assignments until I go to the airport...basically on stand by. Also no concessions whatsoever. Beware of this company.

So NOT happy with Expedia. I called two times last night and was put on hold for one hour and twenty minutes. I called again today-no resolve. I have two round tickets I purchased through Expedia for South Africa, The itinerary number on my email does not work. The number they gave me for the website for the airlines does not work. When I call Expedia the automated phone does not recognize my phone number, even though I have bought several tickets and hotel rooms through them. The night before I get on the plane, I will be in South Africa(US Citizen)and will not have a cell phone. I will not be able to go on line to confirm, nor pick my seats. They told me its because of a third party booking?? What?? Means nothing to me the customer, who PAID on my credit card $516.40 and now I cant get on either site. SO, they think I should just go to airport and hope for the best? I am supposed to confirm 24 hours ahead of time, let alone the seats. How professional is this? Cant wait to tell my friends to skip this bologna. SO NOT happy with Expedia, I expected more. Guess pay and hope for the best? Not my style. Next time I will go through another company, this has taken several hours and still no resolve. I'm on hold again, this time Las Vegas, its been over 9 minutes and nothing, guess better than 1.22 last night. SICK and SAD

I have a fraudulent charge on my credit card from this company and have tried to phone them over and over again. I filed a complaint with my credit card company, but I would be very leery using this company. Book directly with the hotels. I'm trying to have the charge reversed but will probably have to cancel my credit card for fear that someone has my account information. I have no idea how they received my information! .

DISASTER. Booked with Expedia on May 20th and it was a breeze. THEN the airline cancelled my flight and I had to wait on hold with Expedia for 90 minutes only to be disconnected by one of their "specialists". My next call was a two hour wait hold for a specialist so they could offer me another flight for an extra $125.00 a ticket. I simply cancelled and, as I write this review on July 27th, I still have not been processed a refund. Customer service on on a different continent and they completely treated me like garbage. I am on hold with them now so I have plenty of time to write this. Wish me luck!

I have been a loyal Expedia & Jetblue Customer and I will NEVER book another trip via either one of these sites EVER AGAIN. Both companies exhibit extremely poor customer service and accommodation. And I can honestly say I WOULD NOT and WILL NOT be recommending anyone to use either of the two companies, whether it be a family member,friend,coworker or even an acquaintance ! My husband and I had booked a trip to go to Montego Bay , Jamaica for our honeymoon, our flight was delayed multiple times without reasoning. Staff members refused to elaborate the cause very cold and unprofessional.Upon calling JetBlue customer service the representative failed to give any reasoning and was very unapologetic. To make matters even worse we had the same experience returning to JFK. I recently canceled a trip booked via Expedia due to a medical occurrence and Jetblue nor Expedia are willing to refund my money, even considering the fact I purchased travel insurance (in the event something beyond my control was to happen, resulting in not being able to travel). After playing unnecessary phone-tag and speaking to many rude, unsympathetic representatives along with their supervisors to no avail no one is willing to assist me. It is absolutely appalling and mostly disturbing to see such a lack of compassion that has failed to be given. For all that are considering flying or booking via Jetblue and or Expedia I would highly recommend NOT TO , because God forbid you have a medical ailment or any circumstance that it out of your control they WILL NOT give your money back !!

Want to spend your entire vacation dealing with Expedia's dumb offshore customer service attempting to correct their errors? Use their service. They will cancel your reservation at the last moment, charge your credit card and when you recover your money via filing a dispute with your credit card company because you never received any services Expedia will chase you with RMS - their collection agency dog. Enjoy!

Incompetent customer care agents with a significant language barrier to comprehend a complex argument. I spent 1.5 hours on the line, was transferred to 4 different agents. They pretended they were transferring me to a manager as I had requested, but it was all lies. I asked the last agent about his job title and it turned out that he was just another CC angent instead of a manager. They didn't prvide any solution and LIED to me unscrupulously. Finally, they offered that a "manager" could call me back within three business days... waiting for call (in vain I suppose).

DO NOT BOOK WITH EXPEDIA Long story short: Expedia left me stranded in a foreign country. They wouldn't change my flight or even confirm my return flight after they canceled my original flight. I kept asking them: do you mean you cant tell me what date or time I'm suppose to fly? They kept replying: I know its unfortunate, but there is nothing we can do. After 10+ hours of international phone calls, expensive hotel phone rates, 2 days of canceled activities on my vacation to deal with this, and incompetent and rude customer service, I gave up and bought another $600 flight back to the U.S. What if I didn't have any money left in my account? I would have been stranded in a foreign country. Getting a refund from them has proved even more ridiculous. They keep putting me on hold and every time I mention refund, my call automatically gets transferred or magically disconnected. DO NOT BOOK WITH EXPEDIA.

Do not use them. All reservations you make through those people are non refundable and can't be changed even if you buy insurance policies with their reservations, you will not be re-imbursed for cancellations. Beware!

A tour that I booked through expedia was discontinued by the tour company which contacted me to tell me to contact expedia for a cancellation and a refund. I was well within the "free cancellation" window even if the tour wasn't discontinued but still had to spend days and hours emailing and on the phone to actually get the tour cancelled and get a refund. I am actually still on hold after being transferred twice on a case that I already opened through email and haven't been refunded yet. I'm sure I will be refunded but I feel that the process is torture especially when the only reason I am cancelling is because the tour no longer exists!

Will not use them again. I booked a hotel stay one night for the next day, they took my money, when I printed out my paperwork it had the day I made the reservation and no later than 6 pm, and it was already 8:15pm. They wanted to give me a $25 coupon. What the hell? I'm a traveler not a couponer.

Ridiculous service. Had a simple date change that somehow became me being charged twice. After many days trying to get this taken care of and somehow have not success with anyone even acknowledging the double charge. I gave up. Just not worth the time. You DO NOT save money by booking through a service. It's purely convenience. And well, they're not convenient.

On a recent trip to The AmericInn in CT... I was informed that the price of my room would of been $99 is booked directly through them...But since I booked through Expedia, I was charged $199 for my room....Best if you call your hotel directly....Chances are you will get a better price....Very disappointed in Expedia. I feel I was totally taken advantage of by Expedia......
