Took the Steamboat Nachez which was very cool. Food was actually really good too. Easy to book and not over the top expensive. The whole family enjoyed it!
Took the ghost walking tour. The tour guide "Todd" was friendly and entertaining. Would have given five stars if the tour would last longer! (just a suggestion
Great tour company. Driver wasn't aware of local events and got stuck in a traffic jam that took a while to get out of.
Restraunt tour was interesting and fun, though that food was less than impressive. Excellent guide grew up in NO.
We did the Oak Alley plantation tour—the tour guide was excellent as we rode out of town, but our time at the plantation was a tad short, an extra hour at the plantation would have been nice considering the line for the 'Big House' tour
Tour guide billijo was wonderful .Whitney tour plantation.
Paddle steam boat cruise on the Mississippi river. Excellent
My wife and I took their tour of the St Louis #1 graveyard. It's closed to the public now, so it's the only way in. The tour guide was a local who knew amazing stories of the area and shared her knowledge in a fun way. The bus was comfy and the prices were great for the tour we took. Highly recommend.
Dione (not sure of the exact spelling but im close) was our tour guide and she was amazing! She has such a wealth of knowledge about everything NOLA. Everything from the history of the Mississippi River to where to get the best gumbo (The gumbo shop).
Bob was a wonderful tour guide, hope 2 see him or our next visit 2 New Orleans/gray line..
We can enjoy to see beautiful landscape and listen to Jazz. Furthermore we can learn about steam boat!
We took two tours with this company during our recent visit to Nola. We had Grey for the cemetary & voodoo tour of St. Louis Cemetary #1. She was so knowledgeable!! She absolutely knew her stuff and we learned so much. The tour was very hot (august in nola is hot) but they provided water and fans. We decided to stick around afterward and take the Steamboat Natchez tour as well. It was a nice tour of the Mississippi river around New Orleans and it was lively, entertaining with a live jazz band. I really recommend both of these tours. We really enjoyed them.
Jim gave an awesome cemetery tour!
We took the supercity tour, tour guide Bob was great. Only complaint was New Orleans has so much history he couldn't keep up pointing stuff out as we drove by.
Very pleasant experience, tour was full of information, and liked that the guides shared their past experiences.
Took a tour to Oak Alley Plantation out of New Orleans. It was the way to go. They did all the driving and our driver, Jerrell, gave us a lot of interesting facts about the area and some history thrown in. He was very clear about instructions and our timeline we needed to follow. Great experience. Plantation was amazing
Great day. Bus guide Yvonne kept us mesmerized with history of the area on the hour long ride out to the plantations. We saw plantations Whitney and Laura. At Whitney, tour guide Kone was extremely knowledgeable and interesting. Lisa did a great job at Laura. Worth the price!
We really enjoyed our tour of the St Louis #1 Cemetery. We learned quite a bit of information Our tour guide Midge was excellent !!!!!
Bob was the BEST! We took the Super City tour and he was knowledgable, funny and engaging! Awesome experience.
I highly recommend this company very plaisant well organize very professional
Riding the Steamboat Natchez was my husbands favorite activity in New Orleans. We enjoyed listening to the live jazz band, sipping drinks, watching the paddles go round, walking through the engine room, and learning about New Orleans from the vantage point of the Mississippi River. The view of the sunset was breathtaking!
Great Tours. Rain or Shine...
Really enjoyed this tour. Super easy to book. Driver (Gerald) was awesome and tested us on the way back. If you want to see a lot of NOLA in a short amount of time you need to book this!
Great company! When I needed assistance, I spoke with David who was very helpful and polite. Appreciated his help and kindness! Will definitely use this company again for our next visit to New Orleans!
Jim gave us a great tour of two plantations today. He’s a former college professor and has a wealth of knowledge to share. Highly recommended! #GrayLineNOLA
We took the ghost tour worth Daniel. I have been on a number of ghost tours in a variety of cities, and this was by far the best tour I've taken. Daniel is a great storyteller, and he knows his history (I'm saying this is a history PhD). We will recommend the tour to all of our friends and family.
My friend and I recently went on a plantation tour and our tour guide was Beverly. She was fun, knowledgable, and friendly.
More than I expected. Very knowledgeable host.
The VIP Natchez steamboat with jazz and dinner was really fabulous ...our host Garrett was exceptional looked after us so well and a pleasure to meet him the tour of the engine room with the Captain the dinner and our full package was so value for money..Mississippi lived upto everything we wanted
Took the ghost tour through the French Quarter with Todd as the guide and had a great time. He was very knowledgeable and engaging and had a wonderful way of telling a story. He has a genuine passion for New Orleans and its history which came through in every part of the tour. Would absolutely recommend the tour and Todd as a guide!!!
Sandi Smith was by far the best tour guide I've ever had! She is an abundance of knowledge and very comical, she by far made the tour AWESOME! Our group absolutely loved her, we wanted to continue hanging out with her after the tour! Hopefully we will see her again!
The plantation tour was alright, but the swamp tour was fabulous!
Great this, helpful staff
Excellent tour and guide. Recommend.
Good
We did the Garden District Walking Tour & the swamp & bayou boat tour with Gray Line - we loved both!
Took the plantation/swamp tour and got so much more!! Our amazing guide, Daniel, gave us a detailed history of N.O. that was super interesting!
Just finished the noon City Tour. Our tour guide had a wealth of knowledge. He was literally a walking encyclopedia. I just wish he would edit his presentation to include pause for rider interaction and more heartfelt explanations about the city he loves. Damita was an awesome driver who took time during a break to give me her personal account of Katrina. I loved that part the most. Gray Line Tours is worth the money.
I went on the Ghosts and Spirits walking tour and Todd was our Tour Guide.. it was absolutely spectacular! I loved hearing all of the history and true stories behind some of these reported hauntings. Todd seemed to have genuine passion for the city, it's history and the stories!
Had an amazing day wity Greyline Tours. We were with Ryan and Darren for the day and they're awesome! They're funny and knowledgeable and made each excursion so much better! Would definitely recommend using their service, it was a blast!!
My mother and I weren't sure WHICH tour to book, as there are so many options and we had sort of a tight schedule. We wanted to tour a plantation and also take a swamp tour boat ride and we found a combo tour with this company at a great price!! Our bus tour guide John was sooo awesome (and funny. Lots of funny little puns and jokes). The plantation we toured was Destrehan, and while not as popular, very beautiful and informative. The swamp tour was called Cajun Pride, and not only did our boat captain, Tom, show us lots of gators and raccoons, he educated us so much on the wildlife. We had such a great day and were so happy with everything!!!
Cemetery & Voodoo tour: Today we had the opportunity to ride with Jim, not 2 but 1 "M". Awesome knowledge on Cemetery and Voodoo tour. We had fun. Thank for such a great time. NATCHEZ STEAMBOAT: We also did the Natchez yesterday. Staff was great and do was the Natchez jazz group. Very happy with the service and entertainment by gray line. I'm sure all their services is top notch and you will be satisfied. Tomorrow we do the Katrina tour.. will update also.
My family and I went on 2 tours. The plantations tour were Amazing..thank you to Kindrell (Ken) ,our tour guide and Miss Vanessa for all the information and getting us their safely. We also went on the cemetary and voodoo with Billie Joe and Diane. Ken and Billie Joe were entertaining and provided us with so much information. I highly recommend this tour company.
My wife booked the the Christmas Bonfire tour which happens to be Christmas Eve tradition. The tour was called the Gray Line Express Cruise. We assumed this to be a cruise on the Mississippi river but we were disappointed to find it was a bus ride. Our tour guide was a local and knew his stuff. He was a retired school teacher and gave us history about Creoles and Cajuns. It was an hour ride to the Bonfire destination. It was a rainy day and despite that spirited folks came out to witness the Bonfires. It was definitely a sight to watch. The restroom in our bus didn't have any light, we had to use the light from our cellphones We slept our way back on the bus ride, Quite a handful of folks Be sure of what you order for. The GrayLine Express for Christmas Eve Bonfire is a disappointment.
The tour guide on the bus was like 100 years old. All she did was talk. Put me to sleep for atleast an hour of the 2 hour tour. We stopped at cemetary. But could not walk around. Had to get right back on bus. Stopped at City park. For 20 min. Not enough time to see anything. The entire tour ride, We could NOT ask questions. She did not even look at us. She was in front seat of bus reading off of a paper. Anyone could have read the information. Super boring! Dont do it!!!
Tour - Oak Alley was absolutely wonderful thanks to guide Mary E
Lovely service and amazing music on board. Celebrated our honeymoon on this little trip and the staff (especially Gina) and band were very sweet and went out of there way to make this a special trip. If you haven't been to New Orleans before and want to experience a true adventure, book a steam boat trip on the Natchez.
We did the cemetery and Katrina tours. Guides were very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. For sure would recommend.
Best tour that i've been on, so far. Loved & cried a little, while seeing, reading & listening to the tour-guide. Everyone should see this tour.
Captain Anson was awesome! Took the bayou and swamp tour. I loved it! Saw gaters and even got to pet one. Would really recommend it! The staff throughout was helpful and kind.Warning it might say 2 hours but it's doesn't include the travel. So it's about an half hour ride from the french quarter to the place and then back so all together it's about 3 hours.
The steamboat cruise is worth doing but the brunch on board is not worth it in my opinion. I wasn't super impressed with the food included on board.
A Great Tour! Grey was exciting, knowledgeable, and professional! She made talking about dead people an interesting story rather than just spitting out bland facts!
My friend and I did the double plantation tour, with Whitney and Oak Alley Plantations. The drop offs and pick ups were really smooth. Our guide was Nancy and she was really nice!! You can tell she loves her city and is really knowledgeable about it. She just seemed really sweet and funny. The bus ride was about an hour long each way, and the double plantation tours dont really give you much time for lunch, so it's definitely recommended to bring snacks. I do wish there was a bit more time allowed at Oak Alley since they have a restaurant, but our experience was really great!!
Awesome total great experience Mike Marino is so great and entertaining. So Smart... George great driver very very nice!!! Highly recommend
WOW! The Airboat Swamp Tour was so much a fun part of my trip. The driver was funny and entertaining and allowed passengers to board early and get out heat. THANK YOU! That NOLA heat is something all by itself. Our tour guide, Captain Rich, was quite informative and although this may have been his 101 tour of the month, he told us stories about the swamp as if it were his 1st time. His energy made the experience even better! He also shared a one on one experience with a 7th old baby Alligator named Dollar of which the entire boat was THRILLED! We thank him for sharing!
nice tour, but expensive. Great way to see the city and get information about the area. 10/22/2017
Great day! Jim was our guide and he was very funny.
We took the Garden District Tour with Marcia as our guide. Excellent tour that included visiting Cemetery #1. This is apparently the only tour that takes you inside one of the homes. Marcia provided us with fans and cold water for our walking tour, which was perfect with the heat! We had a small group, which allowed us to ask questions and take our time walking around. Great tour. Highly recommend.
Good trip shame aboutvthe photo scamming
Tour was awesome and the tour guy was knowledgeable and funny.
Took the Oak Alley tour bus, the tour of the Plantation is a must see for anyone visiting New Orleans but we happened to get a bus with no air conditioning and this was in both directions, for a 1 hr and 1.5hrs bus ride respectively and all they could do was offer an apology and $5 off our next Gray Line Tour. They should have called for a replacement bus but we all suspected they knew at the onset that this bus needed repair but they had us captive. I would not recommend this tour company to anyone.
Sold on a LIE. I spoke to a rep by the name of Briana and she advised me that when I booked the Swamp and Bayou Tour for my family, there would be an onsite bathroom, place to purchase water, and the boat would be air conditioned.. for me, as a rep for your company you should know what and what not your company provides. I do not like being lied to to make YOUR SALE. Because of this fact, I wouldn't do Grayline again. The only highlights of this tour for me was the Captain of boat and his friend Ally Gator, and last but not least our hilarious bus driver Alton
Went for a plantation tour and had a great time. Tour guide was very friendly and I think overall it was a great value.
My family and I returned from our trip to Whitney Plantation feeling sand-blasted. Our driver and tour guide, Jude, was the worst guide we have ever had. He literally talked non-stop, which was exhausting. But the real problem is that he spent about half the time telling offensive jokes (for example, he told us his mother-in-law’s house was not flooded in Katrina, but “God doesn’t answer all your prayers”) and commenting on various aspects of society in what he seemed to think was a humorous manner. It was not humorous—it was boorish and immature. On the way back, he promised he would not talk, but he couldn’t seem to help himself. Since he had already told us about what we were passing on the drive out, he had nothing to say about these sites on the way back. Instead we were treated to more non-stop jokes and commentary. A truly awful experience.
Poor quality busses suffered through 2.5 hours on fully packed bus with no air conditioning in middle of June. They refused to swap for a functioning bus even though the seniors onboard complained riding was unsafe due to sweltering heat. I see on other reviews from previous trips below that others also did not have ac on their bus either. First and last time I will use gray line, they really blew their chance to make a great first impression. Avoid at all cost.
This was an excellent tour. There were two portions, Plantation House and Swamp Tour. The highlight of our tour was the swamp tour. We had a great time. The ship captain was very knowledgeable and we got to hold an alligator. BillieJo (tour guide) and Darius (Bus Driver) were very courteous and professional. I would recommend this trip to any tourist.
Only reason it's not five is we had to wait on our bus drive to pick us up both ways, but he more than made up for it by dropping us off right at our hotel (it was pouring and we would have got soaked trying to navigate our way back). We took the Swamp and Bayou tour on the large boat. Completely worth every penny. It takes up most of the day, but it was worth it. Our tour guide was amazing! We saw 6 or more gators and everyone got to feed them marshmellows. We also got to hold a baby gator. The views are incredible. Must do if you like the outdoors!
5 STARS for the Isle of Orleans tour on 6/4/16, and only 2 STARS for the Laura Creole Plantation tour on 6/9/16 . The Isle of Orleans tour route gave us a good overview of NOLA. Host Ryan was excellent - the perfect combination of being very knowledgeable and being very fun. On the Laura Creole Plantation tour the bus was very hot - the air conditioning wasn't working. An hour into the ride the driver offered to take us back to NO, but with only 20 min. to our destination, we chose to keep going. At the plantation we waited 30 min. for our tour to start - I overheard them say they were waiting for a guide to show up. I think they combined 2 tours, and Bree led the tour. It was a challenge with so many guests. She was personable and gave us basic family information, but more "life on the plantation" stories would make for a more interesting tour. We were picked up on time and the bus was cool for the trip home - had the driver neglected to turn on the circulating fan on the ride to the plantations? We appreciated the driver dropping us off at Harrah's, which put us very close to our hotel.
We did the cemetery tour. Our guide Julie she was so sweet and extremely knowledgeable about all the graves and history behind it. Almost swear she was a history teacher. Would highly recommend.
Took a ghost tour with Billy Joe and she was awesome. No real ghost on the tour but the history and laughs was a great time. You can stop for drinks and potty break halfway through..
I went on the swamp and plantation tour with Tour Guide Nancy and it was amazing. The plantations are something out of a dream, tranquil, perfectly manicured and the best breeze blows off the Mississippi. Learning about the history was heart breaking. The swamp and alligator tour was also really cool! The bus was brand new, immaculately clean and the food was fantastic. Tour guide Nancy was hilarious, very informative and extremely accommodating. Highly recommend this tour, it was great.
We went to do the airboat tour and my wife and I and another couple were left behind by the bus driver named Tanya. We got off the boat and used the restroom as instructed and we came out to find our bus left us stranded at airboat adventures. No attempt was made by the driver to let anyone know the bus was leaving. Very we will now miss a show and dinner that we had planned and already paid for. I would not recommend this company at all. And the sad part is they are associated with WYNDHAM RESORTS.
My husband and I went on a cemtery tour with Mary E. She was enthusiastic and provided a lot of great information. I would take the tour again.
The cooking school and cocktail tour made our trip to NOLO both special and UNFORGETTABLE. We learned about local cuisine, cocktails, history of some of the buildings in The French Quarter, and (most importantly) we heard some great stories. If you do only one thing- this should be it!
Fantastic tour guides. I had Bob for the haunted tour through the French quarter. He's a hoot! He told great stories and was very engaging and honest. We had Nancy for our Whitney Plantation tour and she was personable, and simply charming. She played music that was authentic to the area and gave us plenty of factoids that made the hour long ride breeze by. I enjoyed Grayline and would recommend them to anyone visiting the Big Easy. Tips are optional but the guides are so appreciative when they receive them, I couldn't help but tip each tour!
Took a ride on the Steamboat Natchez. The ride was great, even in the extreme heat. Food was ok, but that was expected. The boat is awesome, and is a must when in the city. Staff was amazing and loved the live Jazz on board.
They talked gave us information on everything we passed to get to whitney plantation.
I'm from Dallas, Texas my friend and I took the New Orleans bus tour with Tour Driver, Ken. He was professional, personal, knowledgeable and most importantly humorous and friendly. We learned so many things about the city from east:/west direction to burials. Next time we come we'll be looking for another tour with Grey Line.
I took the Haunted Tour last night. Maybe it was just me, but I was expecting a lot more. I actually wanted to be scared. Unrealistic expectation off of the brochure. Bob was our tour guide, and he ruined it from the beginning.
Took the double plantation tour. Great execution of moving us to/from sites. Ken's outbound narration was entertaining and informative. I felt I had three tours! Do bring lunch with you. Time is tight because the tours at the plantations are so full.
Our tour guide left us behind in the cemetery and we had to find our own ride back to the quarter. When we called to address the issue we were told it’s our fault.
We took the Swamp & Bayou Tour. Saw lot of gators. We also took the Ghost & Spirit Tour with Mary. She provided us with great ghost and spirits stories.
So much fun!
Jim our guide and Reggie our driver were both great. Highly recommend.
Went on ghost and spirit tour. Had great time thank you Bob.I would recommend Grayline tours to everyone visiting New Orleans.
Love the bonfire and plantation tour at Christmas!
We went on the plantation and swamp tour on Sunday, 7/21 with Jim, as the tour guide. He was very good. Deserves a 5, Vanessa was a great driver too!! She gets a 5 from me as well. And Captain T. Tom on the swamp tour, was hilarious, and full of stories too. Great trip. Great day!!!
Todd was our tour guy for our Ghost tour, he is a great storyteller he captivated his audience, knows his history and lastly, he's a charming man. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the tour :) thanks Todd and NOLA
Took three tours thru Grayline. All were led by knowledgeable, friendly, professional and energetic tour guides( Joann, Sandy, Brian). Would highly recommend any of these tour's while in New Orleans to anyone looking for a fun , history filled time.
We took a walking tour of the French Quarter in New Orleans (Naw'lens). Our tour guide was, Julie. What a fun tour. We learned a lot about New Orleans. More than the price of the tour.
Fantastic tour guide!!! We had Bob for the haunted tour through the French quarter. He told great stories and was very engaging and honest. I would recommend them to anyone visiting the Big Easy. Such a fun time
Took the Ghost Tour. Thought it would be worth it since it was 2 hrs long, but most of the time was spent waiting on others who were encouraged to buy from the haunted places we stopped at. We only stopped at about 4 places. Definitely not worth the money spent. Over 60 dollars for 3 people.
The swamp tour was better than I expected, lots of wildlife that we saw close up. Captain Anson was a wonderful guide.
Did a Cemetery and voodoo tour with gray line with Billi jo as the tour guide and she was amazing! Very sweet and energetic
This is the place to get tickets and redeem electronic vouchers for many tours and the steamboat. Courteous and helpful staff. Ask for discounts when you book 2 or more tours
Guide Marcia Marcia Marcia was very knowledgable, and approachable with questions.
We had a wonderful day on the plantation and swamp tour with Daniel. Thank you all for this great experience! Every guide we had, was it for the ride the plantation or the swamp, was knowledgeable, engaged and ready to have a great time with us! Check it out if you are in New Orleans!
Just had the garden district tour with JoAnn. Wonderful, informative, just one of the best tour guide I have had the pleasure to listen to
We enjoyed our swamp tour. We got our tickets from trip advisor online and it was not good at explaining where we needed to go to begin. The lady at the ticket booth was extremely helpful with getting us in the right direction. Even for to hold a baby alligator!
We enjoyed our Swamp Tour with great guide. Driver on boat was amazing with so much knowledge of the area.
Amazing! The nachez is well worth the value! Buffet amazing, trip amazing, band amazing! Definitely recommend for anyone stopping in new orleans ;)
Cocktail tour. Really great way to see some different bars/restaurants in New Orleans. Our guide Sandi was funny and we all had a great couple of hours with her. Ask her about meeting Elvis if you get lucky and she leads your tour.
We weren't able to get back to where we started due to the parades, but the over all experience was awesome, midge and Alicia where awesome, I had to pee on the ride back and they helped me out by pulling over and letting me pee
Lots of fun mostly 1st guy was wow!boring
Giving five because our driver Darren I believe was the best, however Elizabeth is a little long winded. Bus got hot but I do recognize it is the weather of New Orleans. Overall a good experience, but the driver deserves a raise!
Took the Super City tour. Not worth $44. Basically a tour that takes you around the city. You learn some history but nothing really gets pointed out so you know what you're looking at. I would say worth $15.
Went went on the voodoo cemetery walking tour with BilliJo and it was great. Learned a lot of interesting history about New Orleans and the cemeteries. Definitely recommend it.
Jim was our tour guide for plantation and swamp tour on Sunday 9/8. Despite the heat, the tour was great! Jim was knowledgeable , entertaining, and full of information ! A special shout out to driver Anton and bus mates who were so kind for not getting angry when I realized that I had left my phone at the swamp tour location and we were able to quickly backtrack to retrieve my phone!! Thanks Gray Line tours!!!
New Orleans City Tour and Natchez Riverboat Lunch Cruise, September 26. Great City Tour...our tour guide George and our driver Donald were total professionals. Enjoyed the extra info from George who obviously has lived in New Orleans for a long time. The Lunch Cruise was very enjoyable. Food was delicious and the Captain was great narrating as we enjoyed cruising the river. The events were coordinated by Moriah at the New Orleans West KOA. Thank you. This was the second time we have enjoyed GrayLine Tours thru KOA, in the past few weeks. We will do this again. Keith Van Zandt and Sharon Cherry.
Great Cemetery Tour. Make sure you get Charlie as your guide! Great guy and knows the history.
Good food, friendly people. The views were great and the sunset was great at that time of the year.
The ghost tour was great thanks to Todd, that was our tour guy, great storyteller and knows how to keep the audience engaged.
We did the Oak Alley Plantation Tour last Saturday. Uncomplicated, comfortabel, organized. We had a great tour guide (Jim), who gave us a lot of additional information about New Orleans and the enviroment. I hope, I won't forget his history lesson
Great cocktail tour
Super City Tour The tour started on time and the motor coach was clean and comfortable. I felt that the tour guide did an average job. He had a nice voice, but spent a lot of time trying to park the bus in the park. The microphone is hand held so you're riding with a driver with one hand on the wheel. The tour stopped at a cemetery, but the driver just said a couple of sentences and then told us we had 10 minutes to walk around. I noticed other guided tours in the cemetery and the guides went into detail and told some good stories. We stopped in a park, but due to a run/walk most of our time was spent driving around finding a way to park close to the bathrooms. We had another 10 minutes. The facts that were mentioned on the tour were average. The highlight was driving through the Garden District. We drove by homes quite fast and weren't able to ask questions or take meaningful photos. I would recommend taking the St. Charles St trolley and buying a map or searching the web for St. Charles Avenue Historic District and other NOLA historical sites. You'll save money and get a better value. Again, Gray Line was clean and did what they said they would do, but Super isn't a word I'd use for the tour we experienced.
Nancy was our tour guide for the St. Louis Cemetery and George was our driver. Great folks! Nancy really knows her "stuff" about the Cemetary and welcomes questions!
A great experience sailing up and down the Mississippi on such an iconic boat.
Garden District Tour Amazing tour guide. Charlie our tour guide is very knowledgeable and answered all questions. We were able to see very nice homes with Charlie giving us the history of the homes. Plantation tour. Ryan our tour guide was very personable and very knowledgeable. Great history lesson in regard to New Orleans history. Plantation tour guides were great. The history of the home and a bit of American History was very interesting. We enjoyed the 200+ old live oak trees. Beautiful!! Swamp tour Brandon our captain of the swamp boat was great. He interacted with all of us. We even met his pet animals snakes turtles and baby alligator!! We were able to hold the animals and take pictures. The gator interaction was a great show. Very enjoyable trip!! Would recommend it and will take the tour again!
Got tickets for the famous Steamboat Natchez ride here. Did both the day and night rides for the photo opportunity. Wrap up warm if going in December, it's a little chilly on board if your are outside. Lots of bars and food options ( you can do a tour with a meal included for a few more bucks) otherwise standard ride is $34usd. A great way to see NOLA from a different angle, with amazing views across both sides of the river.
Staff was okay, so was the bus ride. But on the boat were way to many people. They should let fewer people on the boat so everyone can have a comfortable seat. The tour guide just talked about the size and temperature of alligators, nothing new and nothing interesting. we circled around a few one and then went back..It wasn't even 2 hours max. 1 hour and 15 minutes. Definitely not worth it. I didn't hear anything about the Canjun people only on the bus ride.
We dont usually do tours, but this one was a hoot. Our guide was hilarious and we learned a lot about films made in NOLA
I did the plantation tours both Saturday and Sunday June 22nd and 23rd. While I absolutely ENJOYED the tour I took to the Whitney museum on the 22nd with a older gentleman that gave EXCELLENT feedback which led me look forward to the Laura, Oak Alley, and Swamp tour we had planned on my birthday for the 23rd I was QUICKLY disappointed with the young lady that hosted us on the ride there this day which led to my rating... The tour started out ok with the young lady I believe her name is Liz and the tour was for 8am.... she kind of rambled on about her personal life experiences in new orleans which wasn't as informative as the other host and since he'd done such a great job I didn't even care much that it wasn't as entertaining but where it got ugly was when she commented on the difference of attending whitney plantation vs oak Alley saying whitney didn't do as good a job highlighting the atrocities as much as the GOOD parts of slavery...I was sooo disturbed by that comment because while I saw all three versions of plantation life I STILL am yet to see the GOOD parts of slavery for ANYONE besides the owners. That was VERY ignorant, insensitive, and insulting! It turned me off to the entire experience because hosting is her job which she kept mentioning she's been doing over 11 years she should have known that the verbiage she used was crass and in very poor taste. I don't think I should spend the money I did and be insulted! For those wanting to know which plantation offered the most informative experience I will say Whitney, Laura, and then Oak Alley. The best part of Oak Alley was the brunch was surprisingly REALLY good the bread pudding was delicious!!
Awesome tour with Gray, friendly and informative. Learned a lot and had a blast.
Peggy B did the catrina tour, she was great , Truly involved and was 110% engaged with the tour . She was awsome ! I did take another tour with another tour company and was very disapointed.. When back in New orleans I will only go on a grey Line Tour , They hit it out of the park . keep up the good work guys and gals , It for sure makes me want to go back and take more tours with Grey Line THANK YOU Peggy Take care .... and thank you grey line on new orleans
Interesting tours. Knowledgeable guides. Professional drivers. Moderate pricing. Wealth of information. Memorable sites.
We did the garden district and the Cemetery & voodoo tours with Joann! And she was a great tour guide. Very informative and interesting!!
Beware the street vendors! They are not affiliated with this company and are only seeking personal gain. We took 3 Gray line tours, the guides were all extremely knowledge in regards to history as well as recommending the best local food and sights. Highly recommended.
They did a good job on the tour
The swamp tour exceeded our expectations. The tour guide Captain Anson was knowledgable, courteous and entertaining. We saw and fed many alligators and the bayous and areas he navigated were beautiful.
I enjoyed my bumpy ride from New Orleans to the Whitney Plantation! I was visiting from Virginia and loved the scenery! Mrs. Dionne was our bus tour guide and I loved her politeness! She was knowledgeable, friendly and was so kind to let me take a picture with her! I hope that one day Gray Line can partner with some of the Creole descendants of Louisiana to learn about their family history and destination hot spots!!
There was nothing, just river and us. I know now how deep Mississippi River is, for 36 USD is not worth it. Far above price it should be. Do not take it,
Great tour of the bayou, got to see lots of gators, plenty of birds and even a few turtles, the guide was extremely knowledgeable and quite obviously a local to the area. Got to hold a 2 year old croc as part of the tour which was a real treat I just wish I got a photo holding him.
Ryan was awesome. Very funny and knowledgeable. Great tour.
Great tour of NOLA
Jim was my tour guide and the double plantation tour was great!
I went on a plantation and swamp tour guided by Mary E. She’s a lovely, friendly and passionate soul and her desire to share and teach is obvious. She’s very skilled - and it makes sense, she’s a retired elementary teacher! I enjoyed the swamp tour immensely. We saw and learnt about many local animals and Brandon, our boat guide, let us meet many of his pet snakes and turtles. The plantation tour, guided by employees there, failed to unveil enough of the lives and histories of the plantation owners or the slaves. I really struggled to get a good understanding of what happened here. I’ve been told the Whitney plantation is much better - perhaps try to organise your trip there.
We bought all of our tour tickets here. Great options and great tour guides. Knowledgable and friendly.
Nice variety of tours. We did a plantation tour and loved it. Our driver talked quite a bit and was funny but tended to repeat his stories. Loved the ones he told... just the first time.
Sailed on the "Natchez" for my birthday. Great food, great views aboard the last steam powered paddle boat on the Mississippi. Take the trip, you'll regret it if you don't.
We took the Katrina Tour and it was well worth the 3 hours. Our Guide, Bruce, lives in New Orleans and experienced the event first hand. This is a very eye opening tour and you will be amazed as you learn what really happened during Karina from people who where there at the time.
Guides are very good. Very knowledgeable and personable.
Bring a jacket! Cool river air and nice ride.
My husband and I went on a tour to Oak Alley Plantation with Kenneth. To say that Ken was well informed is an understatement. I definitely recommend this trip to anyone
Took the double plantation tour with Kindrell. He was great! He was funny, informative, and you can tell he really loves his work. He went the extra mile to make sure everyone was happy and taken care of. I would recommend the tour with him any day!
Tour Guide Nancy S was wonderful - well informed and energetic. The plantation tour was wonderful as was the swamp tour! Would highly recommend this outing to anyone visiting New Orleans.
Great tours of the city. Drivers very good. Tour guides very knowlegeable and entertaining, especially Joanne on the super city tour. Would recommend these tours. Buses very comfortable too.
We did the voodoo and cemetery tour and it was awesome. Jim (with one M) was our guide and was absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to take the tour.
Previously a history college professor, Tour guide Jim really gave us some really interesting information on the history of New Orleans. He was very engaging and kept us entertained through the entire bus ride despite being stuck in traffic.
Our tour guide Charles ruined, what I am sure would have been a wonderful tour, with stories about himself, the War of Northern Agression, politics, and his views on slavery “we would not find in the history books”. I regret not leaving the tour. Not a good representation for New Orleans or the tour company. The other guides we saw seemed super professional.
We did the cemetery/ voodoo walking tour today with Billi Jo. Wasn't sure what to expect but the tour was fabulous. Billi Jo was well versed on just about every grave there and had some awesome history to share. She did a great job getting us through the tour on time, keeping the mood light all the while. Great job Billi Jo!
Joann was a spectacular guide on the cemetery and voodoo tour!
Firstly, John (our tour guide), was super lively! He kept us entertained on our way to and from each excursion. We went on the tour at Destrehan Plantation and then to the Swamp Tour. The Swamp Tour and Destrehan Plantation both have clean restrooms although the clean ones at the Swamp Tour are around the back, not the ones on the deck. There was a car accident on the Interstate so we stayed on the Swamp Tour a bit longer which was just fine with us! It was a blast! Once we got back on the bus we had a 2 hour detour instead of just a 30 minute drive because the accident caused the interstate to close. We watched a movie and hung out in the air conditioned bus. John and our bus driver made us all feel like family. The next day we went on the St. Louis Cemetery Tour. It was extremely hot but our tour guide Gay was well prepared with umbrellas. Plus, the cemetery has a misting station that you are welcome to go into when you get too warm, it’s very refreshing. There is a restroom at the visitor center at the cemetery but you don’t get a bathroom break until after the tour so make sure to go before you get on the bus. Grey Line is the absolute best by far. I recommend John and Gay for tour guides.
The airboat tour was good, but the person who sold us tickets promised we’d get to hold a baby alligator & that turned out to be a lie. For the price of the tour, I’d like the ticket sellers to at least be Honest about what’s included.
Not a fan. Felt rushed on our tours and unable to stop for souvenirs
Did a Ghost and Spirits tour with Todd and it was really informative and interesting. Learned some unknown facts about New Orleans from him. Highly recommended, even though I didn’t see any ghosts myself.
Booked a River Boat cruise on the Natchez during our visit to New Orleans and would recommend it if you ever visit New Orleand
We've used Gray Lines in another state and decided we like them enough to try them here. The bus tour was what we expected and did show us a sampling of New Orleans. Tour guide/bus driver was nice.
I live NOLA
