Ok so after reading many reviews and seeing lots of negative and lots of pasative, I decided to take the plunge and book through them.... let me say first and foremost, I understand why many would be apprehensive.
This is a 3rd party vender that doesn’t book directly to the airline, they book through ticketing agents that then send the reservation to the airline....below is my experience.
I found them through momumdo and saw they were several hundred cheaper then Priceline and other major vendors, and almost 600 cheaper then booking to airline directly. After booking I did not receive any sort of email. I got the confirmation page upon check out but that was it.
I called customer service wondering where my itinerary was and was told it could take 24 hours to confirm reservation. At this time my card was not billed, so I wasn’t to concerned.
Several hours later I was called by customer service to fill out a autherization form and asked to send a pic of my drivers licence and credit card.... this is where I got concerned and where most people would freak. But wait there is more....
The person on the phone told me to ensure I black out all my CC Info other then last 4 and my DL number... the form had spots for CC # as well and he told me to just fill it with xxxxx’s . The form was a standard autherization to run the card for the amount shown. the pic of the CC and DL was just confirming you were you. I compared this to a cashier asking to see my ID before running my card.
By this point most people would have already asked for a refund (which the website says is 24 hours from reservation) but although there were extra steps that most major carriers don’t ask for I didn’t see them asking for anything out fo the ordinary, because I was able to black out any unnecessary information.
Once I sent that back, I noticed my CC was charged minutes later but still had not received and itinerary. I called them back and they assured me it was booked, however still no email.
I called the airline direct and sure enough, had a valid reservation, the agent even sent me a confirmation and itinerary.
This whole process although not conventional, and time consuming, saved me over $1000 on 3 tickets compared to the major sites. In my opinion the effort was worth it.
Now i had 2 months till my flight and wasn’t ina hurry so I understand that if you have to fly within a week or so, it may be nerve wrecking to not have a reservation as soon as you check out.
Long and short of it is....don’t let the bad reviews scare you from this site. It may not be the quickest or most conventional but in the end I received my tickets and saved a bunch...
