I'm not sure what everyone is complaining about. My friend recommended this one to me for my vehicle needs. I used to go to the DMV on Chicago ave in Minneapolis, or the one in the government center, and they both take forever. After one visit to this location, I will NEVER, EVER, set foot in either one of those again!!! At this location, everyone, very clearly and plainly, speaks english. There are no communication problems, so the line moves quickly. I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes. The staff is courtious to me. Like most customer service people, they're only rude to you if you're rude to them first. If you think this one takes too long, try the two that I used to go to and you'll come back to AAA kissing their feet.

I just got off the phone with Carrin L. From AAA and she was AMAZING! My husband forgot his international license in the US and we are in Italy for our honeymoon at a very secluded resort were having a rental car is important to go see the nearby towns, etc.. we tried having the license mailed to us but the postal service in Italy is not very reliable. Cari went through several files to find his hard copy for his application and approval, photo copied it and waited patiently on the phone until it went through via email and text message! Thank you so much Cari!!

They will try to show effort to work with you, but it is so busy that they just would rather go to the next customer. Go to the DMV in Golden valley. So much more friendlier service and it is faster!

The concept of time disappears as soon as you walk in the door. I waited a half hour and didn't hear my queue move one number forward. Please figure out how to streamline things a little bit smoother/quicker. I wish I would have realized I could have ordered them online sooner.

This place is awful. Even though the people are nice, the wait is always close to an hour. When I called for information they also misinformed me so I ended up waiting an hour in the wrong department for nothing. Never going back after that experience.

BY FAR THE WORST EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD. After placing my call for help at 1:45pn I've been sitting at Ridgedale Mall for a battery jump - going on: Now 6 HOURS! My initial quote time was one hour. After not receiveing a call as promised or ETA text message from the driver I proceeded to call and follow up. After 70 minutes of multiple call hold times and disconnections I was able to get a lady on the phone who after saying there was nothing they could do then suggested They were hiring so if I wanted to help the problem I should apply. Couldn't even believe the customer service treatment. Blew me away. Thanks for nothing.

Absolutely the worst DMV ever!!! I come here consistently because it is so close to where I live and I'm too busy to go anywhere else, but I swear EVERY time I come here I get rude service and misinformation. The misinformation leads to wasted time and the rude service make me want to kick myself in the ass every time I return, cause I know I'll always leave in a very bad mood. I vow this time I will not be back! I'd rather spend more gas and time going farther just to get good customer service. You will never get that here!

Got there before it opened. Waited 45 minutes before leaving; they hadn't processed the very first license renewal of the day and I had to do other things. They had free water and cookies, which, along with the quirky location, gets them one more star than they would've otherwise.

Went there on the 30th at 11:30 and waited 30 minutes for the renewal line to move 3 people with more than 20 ahead of me. So I left. They also co/mingle the lines so impossible to judge how long you have to wait. Similar situation several months ago for another transaction in terms of an hour to 1.5 wait time.

Found the DVM very helpful. I had a complicated situation and they assisted me to get it taken care of. The employee wrote down step by step what I needed to do to get my situation resolved, contacted the state to confirm some information, and then told me that if I came back that day with the information I needed, I would walk right up to her and she'd get it completed. When I returned the employee was on break but the person who sat next to her remembered me and took me right away. She completed the process. Though there was a bit of a wait initially, it was more than made up for in the knowledge and helpfulness of the employee's working there. I would highly recommend this office for DMV needs. They were way faster than Ridgedale and far more helpful.

Waited in line for a half hour and they couldn't help me with my new license request since I'm from wi. I understand they can't predict everything but they could do something. Like have an attendant at the DMV area entrance to help with questions or explain what they can't do better on their Google listing or site. I sympathize with them because it must be a terrible job, no one wants to be here, but my god. You’ve got to do better. Wait time was extremely long and their ticket service had no rhyme or reason. Every employee had their own station serving a Letter say B and that would be driver licence renewals. Same for next and next letter would be for tabs and so on, from my observation i if an employee didn't have anyone at their window they didn't offer to help out with another letter they just waited for someone else to come in so they can help out with the letter that they were working with that day

Went in Saturday, around 10, place was packed, I was updating tabs. Understood the wait. Nothing to do but observe, and the team I watched was amazing, behind the desk. Smooth processing , calm, professional associates. The associate I ended up with my transaction, allowed a gentlemen to go back out to his car and retrieve needed documentation and come back to her station, without falling back in line, same individual ran out to return left items personally to a customer, she was above and beyond. When my turn came, she thanked on all forms being completed, I commented “what a crazy busy day”, she replied “this is not bad at all”. Did not catch her name, she hates spiders, and rocks her job!

The Google page isn't very clear, nor does the AAA website list this as a branch so I was a little confused. To clarify, 1/3 of the building is a DMV center filled with ornery people and the remainder is a AAA branch with the usual services, a travel shop, and helpful, friendly staff.

I'm a long standing AAA member, and will NOT return until their service improves. A simple title transfer took 55 minutes. They used to be quicker than a government bureau, but no more. Disappointing.

Brian Skillingstad. DO NOT work with him if your time is of any value for you. Had everything set up, once it got down to getting paperwork from him. No answers to calls, to e-mail nothing! Called days later and asked for someone else to help me and no one wanted to get involved said they will have him call me back. Called again said they would have a manager reach out to me and nothing. Don't waste your time! I got a better quote going directly through the insurance company.

If I could rate it 0 I would. Waiting here for the 3rd time to get a plate. The staff is rude and unknowledable. Be prepared to wait an hour or longer than be greeted with a snarl by staff that looks at how NOT to help you. The worst part is they don't know what they are doing and I have to come back for the 3rd time with less insurance than we actually have because they don't understand what 5 million combined single unit means.

I heard great things about the licensing bureau here and how quick it went. I needed to get my license switched over from another state and knew I needed to take the knowledge test. I checked the website and it said they issued licenses and permits. I then sat in the waiting room for two hours staring at a TV displaying informational slides. It wasn't until I had been here for two hours that I saw a slide saying that they do not offer testing. This was very disappointing. However, upon a return to this location (after passing my test at the Plymouth location), the excellent customer service I received from Christie at the front desk has greatly improved my perspective on this location.

Also depends if last weekend if the month due to procrastinaters renewing their tabs, etc. before expiration, typical of any service center. I received exceptional service regarding a passport photo. Recommend for that particular service.

I visited this AAA branch to get a triptik and maps. It is summer and peak travel time, so I expected a long wait. However, I waited no more than 10 minutes from check-in to the time I was assisted for my triptik. Everyone I encountered was very courteous and knowledgeable, from the person who checked me in at the Welcome Desk, to Daphne, who assisted me with my TripTik. I received excellent service, and would highly recommend this AAA location.

This is NOT a full service DMV. Don't be fooled. They offer a very select few services, and often even then they'll just give you a list of other places to go to. You won't be renewing your license here, or taking your written test, but you 'might' be able to get new plates if you bring sixteen documents you wouldn't otherwise need to bring to a real DMV.

I renew my license and wanted my military on it. I had a copy of my military DD 214. They said I needed the original. I went to the Southdale branch and I had know problem. It would of cost me $80.00 if I got a original. They did not know what they were doing. Totally disgusted.

Look nobody likes the DMV and only boring people like work. However, AAA made my title transfer easier and faster than any DMV prior and Linda my amazing teller gave me the information i really needed without any BS and did that withouth making me feel like just another person to cross her desk which i almost expected with the number of people there during my visit. Value comes from getting more than you expect. And while AAA is better that the run of the mill DMV a teller like Linda is what let me leave with exceeded expectations.

AAA Insurance review only. Other services good!: SLP AAAinsurance agents are very professionally sounding on the phone, gave me a quick low verbal quote, but never followed up with a written quote as promissed. Took 2-3 call backs trying to ger a written quote on home, kept running me through hoops, copy of last roof invoice, roof warrenty, furnace inspections records, table of all rooms sizes, finished and unfinished, etc. Home quotes got higher and higher, starting out as very good rate, ending up average. After 2 weeks of work, they wanted me to sign, cancelling my current insurance; BUT COULD NOT GIVE ME A FIRM RATE. Said rates may go up after under-writting. Checked and found their claim payment reviews were very bad. Walked away after a lot of work. This quote was for AAA insurance. They also, sell other companies products. Called in Dec 2018 got quick auto quote, great price. Promised to finish auto and home and email written quote next day, NEVER HAPPENED... I am a AAA Auto Club member, thought I would try them for insurance. Just wasted my time.

I've had AAA for years, for my 4 wheelers and two wheelers, and when I've needed roadside assistance they've been there in a timely fashion and with appropriate equipment. Once after a holiday party on a cold snowy night we were side-lined with what turned out to be a transmission issue on my four-wheel drive vehicle. We called AAA and they were within 40 minutes with a flat bed truck and hauled the truck, my wife, and I home. After doing some research, we ended up having it towed a couple days later by AAA to the Lexus dealer. On 4 July 2014 we were on a motorcycle trip that landed us in Alliance, NE for a night. Our bike started acting up and needed expert attention. We call AAA the morning of 5 July and within 30 minutes a flat-bed truck was there! The driver was very friendly and friends with the Bauerkemper Honda dealership in Chadron, NE. He called ahead to the service manager to alert them to our issue. The tow distance was 75 miles and was totally covered. When we arrived the Bauerkemper techs dove in immediately to assess and correct what was wrong, topped off the oil, topped off the coolant, checked the tire pressure, and hand us back on the road within an hour. Stellar!! We're sold on AAA!

If you do come, consider packing breakfast, lunch, AND dinner! I mean at this point, I'd maybe bring a tent. Granted, the staff seems efficient, although I haven't seen anyone smile. Every time I've come here it's been over a 1.5 hrs wait. I'm sure i'll have nightmares about this place for at least a month.

December 30th I was driving in my F150 to my cabin in Pine City, had a blow out at the confluence of 35W and 35E, couldn't get the spare tire bumper lock to release. So at 9:30 pm I called AAA (I am a Premier Member) to get some help, at 10:30 pm I received a call from AAA letting me know that I wouldn't see help before 1:10 am. As a 66 year old guy that has a bad back and needs a new knee, I was forced to break off the bumper lock and crawl under the truck to fix the tire all the time worrying about someone slamming into me. There wasn't a snow emergency or any logical reason for the almost 4 hour wait for service. I have been a AAA member for decades, I am looking for a new service now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best kept secret in town regarding drivers license renewals, titles, and such. Got my license renewed and only waited an hour instead of 3 hours at the Southdale location.

Oh my god. Avoid this place. I waited an hour and 20 minutes (!!!) before I got to the counter and was then told I had to fill out a form and because I didn't fill out the form ahead of time (this was totally my fault but the signage was not very clear) I would have to take another number and wait. Plus she yelled at me in front of the 40 plus people waiting to be helped and called me "young lady". Ugh. I walked out and will go to different location.

I transferred a vehicle at St Louis Park AAA they sold my information and now I've had all kinds of people calling me and sending me mail. Transfer your vehicle at a normal DMV. You will not have this problem.

I went to the AAA DMV for tabs for a pop-up camper. It was on a Friday and at about 1PM. The was about an hour and 45 minutes. Seating was full capacity with a stack of chairs set in the corner. In watching the Queue flow, it took an average of about 5 minutes for each person to be processed with an average of 3 of the 5 lines being open. I am giving less stars because watching the employees, there was zero attention paid to the large amount of people waiting and they never had the counters 5 slots all operating at the same time.

The worst! Waiting over 3 1/2 hours to get extension on DL papers because haven't received in mail yet.
