Our group of 9 had an amazing and memorable experience with Marsha on our 3 hour kayak tour . It was perfectly paced for our group that varies in age from 12-45. We saw amazing wildlife and nature along the way . Can't wait to come back again for another wonderful experience !!
A sea kayaking mecca.
Great experience and I learned a lot too.
Great experience with the morning kayak tour. Tour Guides where knowledgeable and fun. Would def do it again!
We went on the beginner's paddle boarding tour. Our group included my 11 year old son, teenagers and some middle - aged people. People with bad knees were able to say sitting on their boards and when my son tuckered out the guide Cara gave him a tow. It was a great tour and Cara was a patient and amazing guide!
Marcia and Dan were crazy knowledgable and so very nice. We learned about the tides, shifting of sand, crabs, mollusks, jellyfish and even saw a bald eagle.
July 9 2017: What an amazing time! I was so impressed and relieved that we were actually trained in how to properly wear a life vest as well as How to maneuver the Kayak while in the water Prior to actually going out. Our tour guide was wonderful and oh so patient and helpful for our entire trip. Our guide was super knowledgeable about the ecosystem and shared the knowledge hands on. By the end of our 3 hour excursion my entire family felt super confident propelling our kayak through the beautiful waters of little Tybee. So much so that I feel like we could go kayaking again closer to home without any worries
What an awesome experience Lauren and Jimmy were all wonderful both professional and extremely friendly! They knew how to explain to the novice so we knew what we were doing. Ronnie did an awesome job keeping us informed since there was some things happening on the island that wouldn't allow us to get out on our original booking date! If anyone is looking for an awesome time please book with this group!
Perfect experience. The lady who was running the store gave us a discount because we were not able to kayak for the whole session and also free water bottles when she learned we didnt have any. Great place to rent a kayak.
The folks at Sea Kayak Georgia were very gracious. I screwed up the time and they still accommodated us. Hannah was a great guide, very personable and concerned about everyone in our group.
Great experience going on the half day tour. Very knowledgeable guides, decent equipment and decent facilities. It was our first serious kayaking session and were more than happy with what we learned.
Sea Kayak Georgia do kayak and paddle board rentals as well as guided trips and a wide range of sea kayak lessons. Their prices are very reasonable. Even the accessories (dry sacks, maps, shirts, etc) sold in their store are reasonably priced. With our SOT rentals they provided paddles, life vests, and a double sided laminated map of the local areas. They also transport the kayaks and gear to the water from their store. A couple of weeks ago a friend and I rented two sit on tops from them for a trip that ended up cut short due to weather and our own poor handling of the situation. The entire time the staff was gracious and communicative. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and down to earth. As we found out when things went a little pear shaped for us, they are also patient, concerned, and understanding. Wonderful people that made us feel welcome. You can tell that the owners and employees love the area and take their business, kayaking, your welfare, and the local environment very seriously. I'm planning to take their safety and self rescue classes as soon as I can take another weekend off.
We had a great time. They took time to make sure everyone was comfortable in kayaks and made us feel welcome.
My God, the best kayak experience I've had by far. Very affordable and just overall the best kayak rental shop around. :)
We had a great bunch of experienced guides help us... friendly, knowledgeable, and chatty. The equipment seemed first rate as well although they didn't have as many tandems as our group would've liked to have. The scenery was nice, although it got a bit monotonous after the first 20 minutes. Did not see much wildlife besides a couple of birds... the water was too murky to see anything in the water. Accidentally left an item in one of the kayaks which I managed to get back later after I called them (although it would've been nicer if they called us immediately after finding it since we were the only group on this tour, so they knew who it had to belong to, and they had our contact info). Would recommend this as a fun afternoon for a group. Be sure to bring drinking water!
We had a fantastic trip with Dan as our guide. Everything was well organized for a relaxing kayak paddle to Little Tybee. Highly recommend them if you are unfamiliar with the area. Thanks Dan!
On 6-20-17 we were part of a three hour group kayak trip led by Lauren and Laura. We launched at the Back Bay and, tide assisted, paddled to Little Tybee and a smaller neighbor island. They do a great job picking the route for the day based on tide and wind. L and L were warm, welcoming, good coaches, and well informed. We saw turtle nests that were marked for protection and discovered one of our own. Lauren knows much about turtles and shared. L and L know a lot about the animals and plants and the ecosystem in which we all exist. We had and excellent kayak experience!
Awesome experience. This was on my bucket list and didn't disappoint. I am not an inexperienced kayaker, but this was the first time kayaking for my boyfriend and he had no trouble navigating the waters. I would not suggest that someone that is out of shape attempt this trip. Along the way, Marsha shared her knowledge of local history and native animals, but not to the point where it slowed down the trip. Highly recommended. Note: the business is located on 80 as you're entering Tybee proper (before the big curve) it is not on the main drag that runs parallel to the beach - our GPS took us to the wrong location.
Ms. Marsha, Mr. Jimmy and Darien were amazing with our students!! We have kayaked several times as a group and this was the best in my opinion. Ms. Marsha spent time with the students going over exactly what to expect and how to properly kayak before going out even though many had kayaked before. In addition, the information provided during the tour was excellent! Great time!!
7 15 year old girls out for the first time. They enjoyed the guide Marsha as much as they enjoyed the amazing marine life that they saw and adventure that they had. They loved it!
Some very nice and knowledgeable people run this place. They also stock NDK/SKUK brand kayaks; the best around.
Have a great time.
Had a great time. Joel was a fantastic guide, for the following reasons: 1. Didn't get lost (this is important) 2. Shared neat facts about the route, and identified local wildlife 3. Was just a chill island dude
Lots of fun with knowledgeable guides! Excellent experience.
Friendly service, beautiful dogs, ~$30 for a kayak. Go to the sandbar and hang out in the water
Did an overnight kayaking trip and had an absolute blast! Highly recommend.
Had a fantastic time this morning on the 9:00 tour. We went up Chimney Creek through the tall grass and stopped in a clearing and saw the lighthouse. We saw all kinds of birds and even a few dolphins. We enjoyed hopping out on Little Tybee Island and taking some photos and were relieved we didn’t have to paddle the whole 3 miles back to the shop! Marsha was a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable, positive, and sweet.
Tommy, our guide, was patient, knowledgeable, and created a very fun and safe experience. We hope to go back someday.
Excellent. Our guide Marsha was awsome and very knowledgeable of the area and aquatic animals . Will do again . The support staff was quick and efficient. Got us to the water and back in a comfortable A/C vehicle . Money well spent .
We had a great experience. Our tour guide, Kenneth I believe, was more like a very knowledgeable friend than a cheesy tour guide who was trying to impress us. I highly recommend these guys
These folks trained my son to sea kayak....always very professional
Good time, good people
We went on a 4 hour kayak trip. It was myself, my husband and our 4 sons. We had three tandem kayaks. Marsha and Hannah were our guides! They were fantastic! So knowledgeable! We stopped on and island to explore for a bit too. The weather was absolutely perfect the day we went. And on the way back a dolphin swam past us! Such a great experience! I highly recommend! They give you a little lesson on using your paddles and such prior to leaving for the trip.
A perfect Basecamp for exploring the water playground of Tybee Island!
When only the best will do!
Hannah was an amazing kayak tour guide! She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic the entire time. She was full of fun facts about the marsh and sea life. We will be back again and will most certainly request Hannah as our guide!
Dan gave me and my family a great tour. Very knowledgeable and guided us through some typically not so choppy waters. Definitely would recommend
Had a great day on the water and a nice bit of education with it.
It was amazing tour! Very professional and friendly. We are a family of 5 and had so much fun. Amazing views and educational tour guide was great with my children and very patience with us. Highly recommend. It was so worth it. I fort got to mention we where able to see dolphins swing right next to us. This is not a guarantee but it was amazing and we were lucky to see them.
We had a great guide. She was very knowledgeable about the habitat and marine life. Found a sea turtle nest. We had a great time. I would highly recommend it.
Great staff and tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Our group was small and we had a fun and relaxing time.
Great tour! Knowledgeable guide, and helpful! Took time to show and talk adjust the incredible wildlife. Gave us up close and personal experience seeing sting rays, needle fish, and crabs! It's a beautiful place to kayak too.
The staff was amazing! They helped show me how to care for my kayak, gave lessons to the rest of the group, taught my daughter some cool ecology lessons, and were generally all around cool people to talk to. Open when everyone else was closed, or not taking smaller groups. Reasonable in price, military discount, and very well worth the money!
Wonderful adventure with Sea Kayak! Paddling, beach combing, swimming And great guides!!!
Kayaked out to Little Tybee Island, walked around beach and tide pools and kayaked back. Wonderful experience, everyone was friendly, patient, really took their time explaining the plants and animals. These folks know their stuff and feel like good friends after one trip. Can't wait to go back!
Great guide! Dan took the time to explain the best way to paddle, and was a fantastic source of knowledge on the local waterways. Would highly recommend.
Not just an experience a journey!! We loved Marsha's class of Yoga and paddling to Little Tybee. Happy environment! The money spent was well worth what we received in history, technique, and knowledge. Thanks for making my day down to earth. Namaste...
Great experience paddle boarding for the 1st time! Had a blast learning and exploring Little Tybee Island and seeing dolphins. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great excursion on Tybee Island.
