Great tour. Saw a lot of dolphins. Lots of photo opportunities.
Had a great time!!! Took the sunset cruise last night... Was overcast, and did rain a bit on the way back, but we did beat the horrible storm! No spectacular sunset due to the weather, but the dozens of dolphins we saw, many very close to the boat more than made up for it!! Staff was super friendly as well. Had such a great time we are thinking of going again tomorrow :)
I have been on this tour 7 time's and I always have a great time. I always get to see dolphins! ! We will be down in June to go again!!!
Love captain Mike's very relaxing watching for dolphins playing in waves
Very knowledgeable captain and crew.
I purchased tickets for the 11:30 tour but when my husband and four year old arrived at 11:15, they were told by a very rude woman that the boat was “broken” and would not be going out. My husband believes that because of the tour only having a few passengers, the captain said the boat was broken, even though my husband actually saw it pull up to the dock. My son was crying and they were then rude to him... a four year old who was very excited to see dolphins for the first time. Very unprofessional, will go elsewhere the next time.
Got to see a huge shipping boat coming in and dolphin's!
Wanted to take the 2pm tour. Arrived at the office at 1:30, it was closed with a sign in the window saying they'd be back at 1:30. Waited 30 minutes, still not open at 2pm. Several other customers came, they rang the doorbell and called, all with no answer. We asked various people around the area if they knew anyone working there, no one did. Finally saw an older gentleman arrive on a golf cart. I asked if he worked there, he said he did. I told him we tried to get tickets for the 2pm tour but no one was working, so we'd like to buy tickets for the 3:30 tour. He mumbled something I couldn't understand and walked away. 10 minutes later, having not seen the man again, we just left, along with everyone else that was waiting.
Great value for what you pay per person. Really enjoyed the trip to and from and we were able to spot some dolphins. Definitely recommend.
Dolphin tour was fantastic!
Excellent!!
Very nice crew! Great tour information and boy can Capt Mike drive that boat!! ❤️
Excellent excursion. Saw a few dolphins, even in February. Great tour and guides. Worth the money.
We had a great time Sunday 09 September 2018. Our puppy loved being on the boat.
It was pretty good as far as tours go. Kid friendly. Dolphins, lighthouses, a little bit of history. We even saw a large shipping vessel coming into the channel. Water and pop available for $1.50 and restaurant when you hit the dock. I wish I could have understood more of what they said on the radio though, caught every other word.
Had such a great time on this tour! Saw SO many dolphins. . . Tour guide was awesome and funny. Well worth the money!
The trip on the Savannah river channel out to the Atlantic Ocean was fun and invigorating. We saw lots of dolphins, pelicans and other shore birds. I recommend you go out on Captain Mike's boat.
Had a wonderful time yesterday on our boat tour! Loved the history of everything and they did an awesome job and put a lot of effort into finding us where dolphins were located. Was a little bit over an hour and I’d guess we saw about 20 dolphins atleast.
Didnt see many Dolphins, but the trip and experience was amazing!!
Awesome tour and tour guide. Won’t regret it
This was the second time we took this tour with family that came to town to visit. Great experience! Saw lots of dolphins and learned about local history as well as about dolphins. Great staff!
Beautiful ocean and an amazing tour. Loved how the boat would rock side to side.
Friendly captain and crew! Best dolphin cruise I've been on. Very educational.
We went on a 5pm tour in June and saw at least 30 dolphins and lots of large birds hunting in the shallow waters. The guides told us a lot of cool historical facts. We made reservations ahead of time ($15/person). This trip was a great value and I would definitely recommend it to a friend.
Captain Brian took us out on a nice tour of the local area. The tour guide spoke of local history and dolphin biology. We spotted a pod within about 10 or 15 minutes of leaving, including some juveniles. Nice extra was sunset pictures by the small light house near Fort Pulaski.
The tour was great. My daughter and I had a good time, saw plenty of dolphins, and enjoyed the staff!
We had a great time. They knew just where to find the dolphins and made sure each side of the boat was able to see them!
This was the best dolphin tour I have ever been on. And especially for the price. I believe our Captain's name was Josh and the first mate was Amanda. Both were great! I enjoyed the history that Amanda gave and her jokes! And Josh took us a little further than planned and showed us Fort Pulaski.
Amazing dolphin sightings!
We went on the dolphin tour today and it was amazing. We had a ball, and saw lots of dolphins. Can't wait till next year and we are already planning on going out again then. Thanks for a great trip!
Nice and Knowledgeable Crew! Decent Price
Being a resident of Florida we have been on many dolphin watches all of which were, ok. This dolphin watch was fantastic. They are partnered with a shrimp boat and we pulled up along side and watched at least 30 dolphins, adults and babies swim all around us. It was one of our favorite activated while in Savannah. They were so close. The staff was great.
Alot of fun watching dolphins swimming around. Nice boat tour with some history about the island and water ways.
We got off to a bad start when we were the first to show up for the 2:00 tour yet were the last to board the boat because the guide did not have us on her reservation list. Everyone else was allowed to board the boat while they researched the confirmation # I gave them. They finally found our reservation but by this time there was no where to sit. I complained to the gentleman running the boat and he could not have cared less. We had to stand the entire tour and attempt to look over the front of the boat to see any dolphin activity. Those sitting had an awning protecting them from the glaring sun and 100 + temperatures. We didn't have that either. At 5'3" I had difficulty seeing over the front of the boat. I feel their poor record keeping and lack of concern caused my daughter and I to have a pretty bad experience. I would not recommend this company.
Had a great time, saw many, MANY dolphins!
The boat was roomy and Cpt Mike took us out to different areas where there were dolphin pods swimming. His first mate she was awesome. It was interesting hearing the history of the area.
Very nice tour......we'll worth the money! Saw lots of dolphins! Very nice people!
They did an awesome job with the dolphin tour and general entertainment for the cruise. Unfortunately no good pictures of the dolphins. Amanda and Mike were so much fun!
Oh the staff were great with our kids. And to be able to get out and see the dolphins was very exciting. I would definately recommend stopping by and taking the tour. They also have other water activies available... and will even cook the fish you catch too!!!!
Very fun and enjoyable
We made reservations to go on Sunset tour,, early in afternoon we went to check tickets etc.. We were told the captain was in the bar and yes we would be going out. At scheduled arrival time no one was at the dock but us. About 25 minutes later a restaurant person from coco came and told us the boat wasnt going out.. yes these tickets were paid for. Terribly unprofessional. Their loading dock is in ill repair... So Im guessing whether or not the boat goes out depends on how long he sits in the bar drinking. Sad sad.
We were staying in a condo on Tybee and every day we could see the dolphins swimming and then we would see the tour boats go by and decided it would be fun to see them a little closer. And we are so glad we did!! Our tour guides were so great, the water was a little rocky but the driver did an amazing job with all the waves! It was our sons first time on a boat and he loved it, he was the youngest on the boat and everyone was so sweet to him!! There was so many dolphins swimming all around us one even did a few full jumps out of the water for us! A very cool and enjoyable experience!!
Fun to enjoy a day out on the boat, but we didn't see too many dolphins as we expected :(
We were there in March so there weren't many dolphins to see, but the ride was fun, and the captain and guide were great.
I went there and it was awesome its so beautiful
Super fun cruise! Music, fun, and guaranteed dolphin sight seeing.
Fun but not many dolphins right now, try coming during summer.
Great experience, my fiancée and I did the dolphin tour with our kids and we loved it. My daughter was excited for seeing the dolphins and the price we paid we sure got our money worth. Next time i come back to Tybee Island i would love to do the tour again may get a different experience
We were canceled due to weather and had a little mix up...but we went the next day and had a really fun time, and saw many dolphins feeding on fish, kids will love it!
The tour was awesome. We saw a lot of dolphins, even some babies. You get a good view of the North Beach and a lighthouse as well. More than worth $15.
We went on a rainy day so the water was choppy but Mike and his shipmate made it fun! We were soaked by the end of it, but it was hot outside so it was all good. We did see plenty of dolphins. He took us over the state line into South Carolina and into some channels. It was beautiful! The water was mirky so I was very very impressed when we were able to see dolphins surface the water right next to our boat. What a fun experience.
My second time on a deep sea excursion was just as good as the first one with CPT Mike and his crew. They go the extra mile to ensure you have a good time and a chance to catch big fish!!!
Man so excited we have the all our friends going together for my wife's Birthday thanks for making this Party private We taken this tour before Capt Brian was great for the twilight tour recommend the morning activity for our next visit
We had the most amazing time at the dolphin adventure. Capt Allen and his first mate utilized our time well and gave an informative tour and had a knack for finding the dolphin. With all the grief of losing our daughter, Id have to say this was our rainbow after the rain. Thanks to the dolphin adventure for blessing us today. Even with the cruise full, we felt like we had plenty of room. Wish we would have done this last year.
Enjoyed the tour and the guides. Seen a lot of dolphins .
I always have fun on this tour!
Nice and if you couldn’t find the dolphin you will get refunds! That how he is super sure you would definitely see the dolphins
We had a wonderful time on our dolphin tour! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable! We will definitely be going back!!
Thank you Chip! We saw many dolphins on our trip, as well as the old lighthouse out in the river whose name escapes me right now. It was a very enjoyable way to spend a part of our day.
Tons of dolphins. Hard to hear talk, but I’m about deaf so will let that slide. I would definitely suggest later in the day trip.
Great value! Fun experience and educational, too. The captain and first mate, Amanda, were extremely knowledgeable, not only about dolphins, but also historical facts. And the bonus...they're pet-friendly! Worth every penny!
Great experience. Took my son & granddaughter. Saw many dolphins. The guide gave a wealth of info & threw in some clever jokes. Well worth the $$.
we rented kayaks & it was so great. we parked our kayak & the dolphins came right up next to our boat, we could almost touch them. Such a great experience!
Wonderful time!
DON'T USE THIS TOUR SERVICE! We called to schedule the sunset tour. I told her I wanted to come this evening. It was raining when I called and I asked if she thought the weather would clear for the tour. We arrived 30min early. While letting everyone enter (after our wait)they were checking their list for names. Our name was not on it! They booked our tour for next week! Not for today! When I requested a refund they said I would have to wait until the next business day. It was the last day of our vacation and it was RUINED! I know there was no misunderstanding of when we intended to arrive for our tour. They still have my money and we never got our dolphin tour! PLEASE don't give them a chance to do this to your family. I was crying when we left. The lady just stood there smirking at me! UPDATE! When I called the next day they were rude, sarcastic, and condescending. It escalated when I asked for a email stating my refund. They asked why I would need that. I informed them that due to their "Mistake" with my reservation I was worried they make mistake with my refund. THEY HUNG UP ON ME!
Fun for kids and adults. Saw dolphins and cargo ship. Pilot and guide were pleasant and knowledgeable.
Just went out for the second time. We had an informative tour guide, and they really worked to find us dolphins and other wildlife. During our trip we saw a sea turtle, a ray, and at least 4 dolphins.
We had so much fun!
Should not be open when shrimp season is closed. Did not see any dolphins, when we asked about a reschedule the manager was rude and said "Only SeaWorld can guarantee dolphins." When we mentioned we were going downtown for supper she told us "to bring our uzis". I didn't appreciate her insulting our city. During our summer visit it was awesome, this last trip was terrible. Don't visit unless the shrimp boats are out or you won't see anything.
Good local place to rent a Kayak! The workers are nice! And the price wasn't too bad. The scenery is beautiful!!! That is just a gift though from the marsh!
We Loved it! Took my daughter and grand daughter! We saw many dolphins and learned a lot about the area. Staff was very friendly and professional.
I loved it as well as my girlfriend. Very light an fun for everybody
We had a great experience on our dolphin tour. I lost count of how many dolphins we saw. Jensen, the first mate, told us lots of interesting facts about dolphins and the island. I would highly recommend the sunset cruise.
We had a wonderful time on our 10am tour. Lots of dolphin were spotted and we even got to experience leaping dolphin traveling by with a cargo ship. Thanks for giving our GS Troop such a wonderful experience.
Good Times
Definitely recommend the sunset cruise. Beautiful.
On our recent trip to Tybee we took our three young children (7, 5 and 3) on the tour. We made reservations for the 11:30. The captain and the tour guide were both extremely polite and professional. The tour lasted about an hour and fifteen minutes. We saw lots of dolphins and learned a lot about the island as well. We had over 30 on our tour but the boats are large and didn’t feel crowded. I highly recommend the dolphin tour to anyone, young or old.
Wonderful tour. We'll do again.
THE SERVICE I received from the office lady is beyond horrid. As with all boat rides, if bad weather occurs the ride is cancelled. I have been participating in his tour for over 8 years while visiting Tybee and have had to reschedule before but this time I asked for a refund and she told.me she corrected the transaction. 3 days later and I still do not have my money back!! It is sad something like this happened because I won't use Capt Mike's again.
Awesome trip, saw two dolphins jump at the same time, would definitely do it again!!!
My first time ever seeing dolphins and the staff made it an awesome experience
My family had a reservation for a tour and had already paid the $75 when my 16 month old son became ill about 2 hours before the scheduled time. We were aware of the 4 HR cancellation policy, so we immediately called and left a message asking to reschedule for the next day. We never received a call, so we called the next day to see if this would be possible. The woman we talked to was extremely rude and would not work with us at all. She claimed that they had not received the message and could do nothing for us. She continuously interrupted when we tried to talk to her about the situation and even threatened to hang up on us. I cannot believe that this business has any success when they have people that outright rude working in their office. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Please try to find someone else to do your business with. . My family is left with a $75 hole in our wallets and a very bad taste in our mouth.
We had a wonderful experience on our tour! Fun, family friendly, and educational!
Lots of fun and information. Saw plenty of dolphin. A great time!
Great tour. They just need to tell people that checking is 2 min before launch time. And that checking is by roll call when someone shows up with the computer printout
Had an amazing time!
After reading the negative reviews we nearly cancelled our reservation but decided to give it a go. Our tour was at 10 am July 17. Great weather, calm waters. I'm not great with names but the tour guide was an older gentleman who was very pleasant, funny, kind and passed out great historical information. We were fortunate to avoid the unpleasant guides! The boat we were on has great shade in the rear, you can stand on the seats in the front and partially down the side while only sitting or kneeling on the seats are allowed in the rear; for safety reasons. As I have a bigger bum I chose the back of the boat which provides a wider sitting area, the rest is very narrow and best for very thin people or children. The boat seems in need of a major tune up. It spewed black exhaust and was incredibly loud but tolerable. We caught the wake of a passing cargo ship which, to me, wasn't exciting enough! Would have loved a bit of bouncin. We saw plenty of dolphins though they came to the surface only briefly. It was still beautiful to this land locked ocean lover. All in all we had a wonderful time. Tipping is encouraged and drinks are provided for a bit over a buck.
Don't go in September. Ol lady will let you know about 20 minutes in there's not many dolphins to see. And she'll be getting on to you if get too loud. Or if your toddler is standing up within your arms on the back of the boat. We couldn't wait for this hour and 15 minutes to be over.
every thing was great, very informative, we saw and took plenty of pictures of the dolphins. should check it out worth the money
Excellent adventure for littles. My 4 y.o. god daughter had a blast. Unfortunately no dolphins were found. The captain did an exhaustive search. Beautiful day, fun and exciting for the kid anyway.
Loved every minute of this tour!!! Captain Mike and his wonderful female tour guide were perfect. :) The tour guide was very informative, I was able to shoot some really great photos of this tour and the dolphin tour they provided was a true delight to experience...Would recommend to anyone and plan to tour again with them in the future.... :)
The ride was nice with some fun facts given by the guide. We didn't see as many because it was still cold but we did get to see a couple dolphins, sorry those pics are on my good camera these were from my phone
This group of 5 had a great time on the dolphin tour. We are from Savannah and thought the trip to see the light house and dolphins was a lot of fun. Recommend it if you haven't done it. People on our boat were from a few years old to at least one person in their 80s, so it's great for all ages.
Great venue. Customer service awesome! Reasonable rates.
Me and my family had a wonderful time our hosts were amazing.
Can I give ZERO stars!!??? I called 2 days in a row to ask questions before booking a trip, I left a voice mail, also sent an email.... its has been over 3 days and NOTHING. No return email, No phone call back... I guess they are out of business or just don't want my business.... Thank you for wasting my time as I looked into booking a trip with your company.
Captain Josh & Amanda were wonderful! Amanda was full of funny jokes and local facts! It was super reasonable also. We definitely enjoyed our sunset tour! Thanks again!
I think it was nice. Couldn't totally tell because my 2yo was flipping out half the time but I know it's a pretty long tour lol... $5 drink at the super cute restaurant helped when we got off.
Amazing as always!!! Seen many dolphins, best tour on the island!!!
If you blink you might miss the turn off to Captain Mike's. When you arrive at the assemblage of tents and trailers you might wonder what exactly you've got yourself into, but Captain Mike's is the way to go! Although I packed a gourmet cheese plate thinking that the ride would be relatively tame, I didn't miss my gouda as the ship circled dolphins known by name to our infinitely knowledgeable first mate Captain Chris (I'm sorry I don't remember the Captain's name of our voyage because he was also wonderful). Throughout the tour Captain Chris delivered local history, dolphin facts, and just general sarcastic entertainment. He made sure that spectators had the best view for dolphin activity and explained the animal, shipping, and geographical context of the Savannah River. He answered innumerable questions with exactitude and a sense of humor. Everyone in my family, from the least to the most interested, counted this as our favorite adventure of an overall wonderful vacation. Stop looking for things to do on Tybee! Do this first.
What a fun experience! We saw lots of dolphins and got to see lots from the water! Super fun and highly recommend this experience!
Very good deal, the people are real knowledgeable and you see tons of dolphins! You stay out on the boat for a good amount of time and it is only $15/person.
Rustic but comfortable. Surprised to see all the cats. But the tour was informative and fun. If you have a larger behind I recommend sitting near the back. My wife could barely sit on the ledge of the boat
My favorite thing to do on tybee other than the beach! Awesome tour. Very informative and friendly guide. Fun for all ages. Tour lasts about an hour.
Great crew, saw lots of dolphins and had fun.
Best dolphin tour we've been on. First mate Amanda had a wonderful personality and was very informative. Captain Chip did a great job maneuvering the boat so all of the tourist could see the dolphins. We were fortunate to see several dolphins, but if we had only seen one I'd still recommend them! Thank you for a great tour! Melonie Smith Calhoun, GA
Loved seeing the Dolphins. Very pleased with this experience.
I went with my son on his kindergarten field trip. Laid back and easy going. Well organized, fun and exciting. Also has beach gift shop and restaurant.
Was awesome. Did the sunset tour last 4 years and seen the most dolphins ever!!! Aug 20 2019
An absolutely amazing experience, would definitely do it again!
Captain was lovely, guide woman not so much, other riders’ rudeness and overcrowding in the boat made the trip less than even satisfying because my daughter whom the trip was planned for, was pushed back in line ,despite our having arrived 3rd earliest, by rude older men who needed the shaded and standing area apparently more than my 6 year old. She missed the majority of anything dolphin and cried the whole time because she couldn’t see over the edge of the hot uncovered end.
Took my mom for one of her early Mother's Day gifts, and we both really enjoyed it! Very relaxing and informative!
Josh and Rebecca’s guiding was great. Dolphins, history and an awesome sunset all very reasonably priced! We really had a blast! Thanks guys!!!!
Enjoyed every minute!!! Dolphins and lighthouses and all the other wildlife!
It was a great trip. We saw dolphins. The crew was great. We had a wonderful time, I would definitely recommend this tour.
The evening cruise was great. Lots of dolphins plus a beautiful sunset! The only complaint is allowing people to bring their very large dogs aboard and plop down next to people who have a fear of dogs. Only service dogs should be allowed.
Worth every penny!! I would recommend to everyone.
Great fun and educational tour! A must see!
We went for this boat ride with less expectations but they surely surprised us. It was a nice long ride.
Would recommend them anyone
This was fun this was my first time seeing dolphins I was on the boat with gator and michael.
We went on the sunset tour and it did not disappoint, there were a lot of dolphins and they were very active and playful. I would definitely recommend and will probably do it again the next time we visit Tybee.
Capt Allen and guide Terri were wonderful! Saw so many dolphins playing, flipping and a new baby. Great information about the area and fun music on the trip back to dock.
We had our tour early Monday morning and we saw so much! For $15, the boat ride out to the ocean was worth it alone. The way the boat was set up was nicely organized. There were seats in the back where you can sit or kneel and then spots in the front of the boat that were standing room only. I LOVED standing at the front of the boat. We even crossed into South Carolina waters (so now I can say I’ve been to SC!). Thankfully, we were out while some shrimp boats were doing their job so we got to see SO MANY dolphins! Because we were at the front of the boat, I really do think we got the best view of the dolphins. We learned some quick history and I really enjoyed it. I will definitely be back!
We went 04/02/11. Sorry for the late post. It was great. The weather was great. A little breezy but then again we were out on the ocean. We saw the dolphins. It was wonderful seeing them up close. I would go back again.
Very satisfied with Mikes. I’m from Key West so really was just cruising to see the coastline. Nice view of both lighthouses, crossed the Savannah River, saw dolphins, comfortable ride. Terri’s commentary was informative, esp if you are not familiar with the eco system here, not too touristy, and pleasant. I highly recommend and the price is an excellent bargain. After leaving the boat, there is a seafood market so buy some!
Fun boat ride - dolphins were plentiful, scenery beautiful, and our guides were awesome!
Average boat ride with little to see. Not at the fault of the company itself. Time of year perhaps? It was a bit cold (dress warmly if breezy) and bumpy (waves) Had to turn around half way and our trip was cut an hour short. Unfortunately, no dolphins sightings. If expecting dolphins maybe a little closer to summer is best.
Most of the people on board the boat had to stand. You couldn't bring a cooler
Great ride with lots of dolphins that would get really close to the boat. Also the tour guide had lots of great information about the dolphins and the surrounding area.
It was wonderful and exciting the crew was great I recommend that trip to everyone thanks for a wonderful evening
We are in town for a few days seeing my son. While looking for things to do near Tybee Island in the Winter, we came upon Captain Mikes. We were excited to be able to take a boat ride out to see the dolphins for a very reasonable price. When arriving for our 2:00 trip I came in to the window and was “ Greeted ” by a woman who opened the window to ask what we needed. I said,”We are here for a boat ride!(Enthusiastically.) Her exact words were. .”Umm. NO YOU’RE NOT!” Her tone. Her demeanor and her energy took me back. She was incredibly cold and rude. Apparently the weather which is cold had canceled our trip and they had attempted to get a hold of us before we came there. I totally understand that. And apparently we did not get the message in time. I totally understand that as well. But to come in enthusiastically and say I am here for my boat ride and have her respond so incredibly rude made me feel compelled to write this review. You see, my son Anthony was murdered in Golden Colorado and this is the first time we’ve been able to see my oldest son Raylon who lives in Savannah. We are grieving family and just wanted to have a good time. I wonder if people realize that just the way they respond to somebody can change the direction of that day.? If she would’ve had to say is “Oh I’m so sorry we couldn’t get a hold of you.” or “It looks like you’re excited we hope you come back another time?” Or something along those lines would have been so amazing. But to be treated the way she treated us ,with what we are going through was completely unnecessary and upset the three of us. But I guess what I want Captain Mike’s to know is that people come from all over the world I’m sure to this lovely spot near Tybee Island and regardless of why they are here, you should always remember that there are people who are going through astronomically painful times and the way your staff treat your potential customers is a reflection of who you are. I just wanted you to know. The Rudnick Family
Have taken this tour a couple of times and the tour itself is great. However the people you have to deal with to book the tour are rude at best. The 2 older women in the office are cranky and rude. This last time we were there they booked our tour, took are money and then apparently forgot it was Easter and there wasn't going to be another boat going out. They claimed they left a message on our phone but they did not. Again great tour...very rude old women in the office.
We really enjoyed this tour. There were numerous dolphins to see. The guides were knowledgeable and entertaining. However it was hot. Make sure to bring water. The staff was concerned with passengers and the heat and asked repeatedly if everyone was ok. If you go at low tide, it’s a steep decent to the dock.
Wonderful, informative tour. We saw several dolphins while out. Thanks Mike and Amanda!
The boats at Captain Mikes were nicer than the competition. People were friendly. We had a good time.
We did a dolphin tour and booked online a day in advance in order to secure a spot so I do not know anything about buying tickets on site. Our experience could not have been better!! Well worth the price, saw TONS of dolphins and we stayed out a sufficient amount of time. I would absolutely recommend this tour. Captain Allan and guide Terri were phenomenal. We were expertly maneuvered by the captain and left with a lot of knowledge about dolphins. Terri kept us laughing.
I was very surprised at how many dolphins there were! Boat guides are knowledgeable and funny. Definitely recommend
