On time (except for one short delay due to minor mechanical problems). Friendly and efficient. Seats uncomfortable (what airline seats aren't?). Very convenient luggage handling, especially the "check thru at the gate" policy. Kept us very informed via emails and phone calls during all phases of our trips. Thank you AA, for making what could be nerve wracking trips a little easier!

I was scheduled to fly from Denver to San Antonio. I got to the airport an hour and 15 minutes early just like I do for every single flight I have ever taken and I fly at least once a month. I have never had a problem with checking my bags and getting through security with ample time to spare. This time, however, the wait to check my bag at the Denver airport was astronomical. I waited for 30 minutes before I was able to get to the front of the line. When I tried to check my bag, the unhelpful. unfriendly American Airlines employee, Carol, rudely told me I could not check my bag because my flight took off 40 minutes from the current time and the cutoff is 45 minutes. She informed me my bag would not get on the 6:25am flight but it could be put on the 8:55am flight. I did not argue about this and I calmly understood. It is no problem for my bag to arrive later than me. What IS a problem is that she then rudely proceeded to tell me I could not get on the flight either since my bag wasn't going to be on the flight. She told me I could fly standby on the 8:55 flight with my bag. This is where I disagree. The whole concept of "You have to fly with your bag" literally makes no sense. American Airlines loses bags all the time. Are you telling me you fly customers back to where the bag is and make them fly with it? Doubtful. If I don't get on my standby flight is someone holding on to my bag to take it off last minute when I don't get on? No. This is flawed logic. I should have been able to get on my scheduled flight without my checked bag and then just retrieved it from the airport when it arrived at a later time. Because of American Airlines inefficiency to get customers bags checked in a timely manner, I have to miss my flight.My family, who I did not get to spend Christmas with, now gets to postpone all our plans. Thanks American. And thank you, Carol, for making holiday travel with American so miserable.

Why in the world does British Airways use AA!!! I can never book AA knowingly, they are infamous for cancelling flights. My sister was stuck at the airport for hours with a toddler because BA decided to change her flight to AA which was canceled.

I am not a fan of the check in process for military with bags. They force you to use the kiosk, then you have to wait for a gate agent to swipe their badge to remove baggage fees, and then you have to go to the bag drop area where they revalidate everything. Why not let the customer service desk check me in and eliminate unnecessary steps. There is zero point to checking in 24 hrs in advance as you still have to waste time at the check in kiosk...no efficiency here!

just to let you know if you are buying a economic basic they will be charging you for your bag, they count it like first bag to pay, if you have 2 bags you pay $70, if there are 3 bags, you will pay $150. So just you can take for free your personal bag and a small bag in cabin. Also international flights connected with other airline, they will charge you to pay again for your baggage. Just check the web page, because in this said you pay just one time fee for your baggage, but when you arrive they charge you again for you baggage. So disappoint .

Bought a direct flight from Denver to JFK with a window seat. Checked in to find out they no longer have a direct flight and didn't bother contacting me about the change and had rescheduled me on a flight that connected through Charlotte and got in almost 6 hours later and I was in a middle seat. I spoke with 2 separate supervisors who informed me it was a "scheduled" change so they wouldn't do anything to make it right. Needless to say I didn't get what i paid for.

American Airlines needs to be renamed--it's an insult to the country to have this company branded as "American." AA is one of the most consistently delayed airlines, but rather than accurately report the status of a flight, AA will board the plane and push five feet back from the gate to be "on time," and then hold you on the plane for 45 minutes instead of taking off. If you've ever wanted to be treated like cattle and stuck on a plane, fly American Airlines.

Terrible. Would've given zero stars but had to rate. Our e-ticket didn't work (AA Error) so my wife and I missed our flight. They put us on standby for the next flight, but only 1 of us got on, even though it was their fault. All of the employees in the terminal were short with us, rude, or snappy. Very unhappy!

Gate agents were unbelievably rude, hostile and outright aggressive while simultaneously being completely dismissive and showed such disdain for their job. I give 5 stars for the flight MIA-DEN. USB & outlet available in every seat. Morning flight you get crackers and drinks(coffee, water, juice) for free. (2 rounds of soft drinks) And there is a small option for additional breakfast, snacks, soft drinks and alcohol. Seats have device holder too.

My 14 yr old child was traveling as an unanccompanied minor on their flight from Denver to Philadelphia. As soon as we got to the counter, without checking 1st, the lady at the counter is asking me to pay $160.00 plus for their "service fee" that they charge for unaccompanied minors. I asked: 'Please, make sure you double check because I believe that his father already paid for it.' And as soon as I got on the phone with my child's father; she found out that it was already paid for. She asked for my ID, I provided all the information for my child's father that is required on their form for him to be able to pick up my child at the airport. In addition, my child's father and I have different last names. On arrival to Philadelphia there was yet another issue! My child's father had an issue as soon as he showed his ID because he did not have my last name on it. And yes, you guessed it! Somehow this lady at the counter managed to put my last name as my child's father's last name which was the incorrect information. This lady had 1 job, she was the only 1 at that counter 'helping' with the process of anunccompanied minors, and she messed up. I'm not asking for this lady to be fired, I know, everybody is human, we all human make mistakes, and we can correct them so they don't happen in the future. Now, there is always, always run for improvement; especially in customer service. American airlines, your employee needs to be retrained because she's obviously not doing what she's supposed to be doing. And, if is not in your policy of always double checking everything, here's a suggestion: please, have your employees always double/ triple check everything that they are doing ; especially in the case of anunccompanied minors. Will I recommend this airline to anyone? No.

Wow what fun being held up in Denver for 4 extra days. Sure weather was bad 1 day but AA jacked the price to leave to over 1000 Dollars. Then they rebooked me thru DFW then on to Seattle. Really tired of the customer service.

Dealing with American Airlines is the worst experience I have ever had. All of my flights have been delayed. When I landed in Denver off flight 1743 we had to be followed in by the fire department because the pilot wasn’t able to control the plane on landing causing us to circle then trying to get on flight 482 no safety tests were done before loading us on the plane as we had to get off the plane because the landing gear was missing a part. This flight has been reported to the FAA and I hope this company is shut down. It is the worst airline I have ever had to deal with and when you call their support number American Airlines doesn’t care about you. I called and spoke with Anna and supervisor Susan storm and the supervisor pretty much told me she couldn’t and wouldn’t do anything for me.

I travel monthly at least and American airlines is the worst, hands down. Landed us 6 hours from our destination, because of a crew shortage. Said they would pay for our hotel,rental car (to drive the rest of the way) food etc....but, they didn't. They said I need to pay and submit receipts. Then they lost all our luggage, said they would deliver... they didn't. Ended up driving back to another airport to pick up...and the attached photo is the attention I was given by the "supervisor" apparently napping at work is more important, after we were waiting on him for over 2 hours.

430am on a Saturday. No one managing the self help kiosk. They time out after 10 mins. Was it a surprise to them that they had all these customers? 4 workers for a lot of customers. Thank you for reminding me why i never fly American airlines. Adding an edit.. so by the time i made it towards the front of the line more people showed up and everyone at the back of the line made it through since someone was partially watching the self service area. The people at the desk were nice but really seems undermanned and maybe allocated improperly. You still get the one star for poor planning.

I was not aware of your frequency of gate changes. I had been a patient at National Jewish Lung center in Dever for 9 days. Tired and anxious to get home. I checked with people three times no one mentioned a gate change. I am sitting in Dever exhausted trying to stay awake. I have to take a flight at 8:25 to a Jackson Ms instead of Laurel which 15 minutes from home. Jackson is 1.5 hours away. My friends are driving to pick me up. It will be past midnight before i am home. My luggage is being sent to Laurel Ms. I will not have that until tommorrow . The trip to Denver, the airport in Laurel refused to take my baggage or forward it on the next flight because I was three minutes late I was without my clothes for a week. My friend had to send my clothes . I was at Jewish National every day going through extensive heath test on my lungs. At night I had to come I. And wash the clothes I had. I did not have energy or time or funds to buy new clothes. This has been the trip from hell. All the difficulties could have been avoided. I am very tired not feeling well sitting at Dever airport trying to get home. I have flown with you many times this time has been very hard on me. It could have all been avoided. EVERY SINGLE PERSON waiting for our flight complained about the mistreatment. NOT ONE GOOD THING COULD BE SAID BY ANYONE! Flight got delayed 3 times and then there was a gate change. They ended up putting me in coach but had available seats in first class. I was not a happy camper! I called to see if I could be compensated for the down grade an was denied... About a 30 minutes waiting in line to check bags in priority line. Several people had cancelled or delayed flights. Only 2 cust service reps. It would have been great if one rep did check bags and other work on rebooking flights line would have been faster. However, I travel weekly and this rarely happens.#holidaytravel.

Typical....flight cancelled due to weather conditions.. ok.. but all other flight options were, as usual, full. I had to change airports and fly the next day....but I am happy for American because flying less planes and keeping them fully packed means more money for American, at the inconvenience of it's customers.....so for all you travelers don't take it personal it's just business.. American airlines puts profit before the customers... I can only imagine how they would handle a one car funeral! Lol

After he charged me 50 dollars i told him the bag was 2500 and asked if I could take it on. Very bad service you don't have to talk down to people. Terrible service. Flight was delayed multiple times. And in the end it was basically cancelled. No one at the front desk could do anything for us. People on the call couldn't do anything for us. They advised to contact an email to get a refund and if any, a compensation. We lost a night at our resort and we lost our money. We had to purchase a whole new flight and wait. I wish I could put zero stars, never again.

Terrible experience multiple cancelled flights. All the flights I did board were 1-2 hours delayed a piece. It took 28 hours and 4 flights over a two day period to get to my final destination. The customer service staff were rude and I had to hold for more than two hours on the phone to make a simple flight change. Never again.

If I was one of the people that missed my connecting flight because we went BACK to the terminal to pick up someone, this would be a -5. Because the whole timing was messed up we had to sit on the tarmac in Chicago and wait for a big plane to get out of the way. We usually have a great flight on AA... Luckily, we weren't affected by the mess and had a wonderful flight attendant.

I thought it did not get any worse than United, but at least I did not hate them until I got to the airport. American Airlines is even worse. When I went to check in they made me pay again for a seat and don't even give me a cary on bag. I have to check all bags! We had a mechanical delay and knew our flight connection would be a challenge. We were told there would be someone to help us thru customs in Miami so we could make the right connection. When we got to Miami the representative that met the plane said "I don't care what u were told in Miami you are on your own". That pretty much sums up how we went from making a tight connect to missing it. We are now in a hotel for two days and have to return daily for vouchers. Attitude makes a difference, if your looking for the right one it wasn't in my experience with American in miami

Worse experience ever, incompetent and ignorant customer service coordinators (Dora- Leigh) that don't even know the policies about overweight bags. They double charged me and wasted 1 hr of my time. My mom almost miss the flight and we arrived 120 minutes before. I checked her in 3 times: 1 by mobile phone and 2 times in the machine. I paid $1,160 for a flight that doesn't offer a snack in a 9-12 hr trip. On the top, these 2 female coordinator discriminated us because my mom was a tourist didn't speak English that fluent. The Coordinator even walked away when we complained about deceptive info practices regarding overweight bags and also when I asked Dora if the luggage were going straight to destination city because it has 1 stop in Florida, she pointed the suitcase and replied " that's what it says there" (on the label) like I didn't know how to read! So offensive...and believe they didn't transfer the luggage on May flight. Leigh told us to go back to the machine because she refused to help us w overweight payment, so another clerk did it for us. We were overlooked and embarrassed by staff. Apparently to be supervisor people need need to be mean, abusive, incompetent, racist and without people skills. Awful experience!

Not a fan of their terrible check in process. Very confusing and the long lines meant everyone was irritable and vocal about their displeasure. We haven't taken off yet, so I'll leave my review with 1 star. If the plane goes down and we don't make it, I will take away the star.

Poor service after a cancelled flight at 3am. Lots of unhappy people because of this. They only had 2 people at customer service, so the entire check-in area became crowded. Will be looking at other air lines from now on. Update. They got us on a flight 8 hours later. It was late getting to the gate, and even later arriving. Sprinted to the connecting flight which was still at the gate, but they would not let us board. Then the rudest lady I've ever dealt with told us it was our fault for being late. We are now stuck at an airport 1000 miles from home, and 800 miles from our destination. The is the first and last time I ever fly this abomination of an airline.

Boarded people 10 minutes past when we should have taken off. Took off late, although we made up time in the air we had 15 minutes to go from Concourse C to E they weren't going to take my mother's wheelchair over until entire plan was empty. I ran with wheelchair got there as flight was boarding.

This airline had completely changed from being customer oriented to pure business. They'll do everything they can to squeeze every last penny out of your pocket. They have zero care about what is best for their customers. Completely different airline than it was 5 years ago. I'm switching my allegiance to a different airline that appreciates loyalty.

I've found that their flights always have plenty of legroom. I'm a bilateral amputee without legs so it doesn't bother me that they've minimized leg space. I'm waiting for them to add the cargo fare where you can fly as a piece of luggage.

Just tried American for the first time. All four flights were early to the gate. Unusual and a nice experience... until we landed and the flight attendant started scolding a woman with a service dog because "the dog can't be on the seat." She had paid for two seats and they had previously given her a hard time at the gate. He must have said it 5 times. We get it. The dog can't be on the seat.... because why?

Bring your patience, do not expect a thing called customer service. Give yourself 3 hours at least if you are traveling with a handicapped individual. And when you realize that there is going to be a high probability that you are going to miss your flight, even though you were at 1st Class ticketing, at the counter 2 hours before scheduled departure, don't hesitate, the Amercan Arlines general counter staff will hold no personal responsibility and there is absolutly no hope if you try and call AA customer service on the phone. Go immediately to the counter and be strong, insist on seeing the Manager on duty and don't accept any answer until you have the Manager and work out your situation Or I guess you could plan better than I and fly another airline AA IS NOT THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN.

Very strict about checkin luggage policy. Customer care service gives different answers every time for same luggage policy. Specially very confused if we have connected international flight. Because of this confusion I have to throw my luggage in 2nd connected flight (Qatar). Customer care told me $250 for extra luggage up to 32 kg, but at airport it was $100. Need to improve customer care or need to update online luggage policy for transfer people for individual airline. Example: American airlines to Qatar what will be luggage policy etc..

Overbooked flight. 25 student's flight delayed. Blamed on Max8 grounding that happened over 10 days ago. Management is trying to make it right. Tbd... American Airlines still claim they are not at fault and push blame to travel agency, which received confirmation from AA. Other passengers where also bumped. Way over sold flight, plain and simple. Students lost one full day in Costa Rica which is nonrefundable. The students are the ones that pay the price. Will look elsewhere for future flights. * updated* received an apology and free flight tickets. Sad that we had to fight to get them, but we did get the tickets.

The gentleman at curbside checking was exceptional! Didn’t catch his name but he immediately called for a wheelchair, tagged my bags and had me on my way within a couple of minutes! The downside is that American Airlines doesn’t let first class passengers use the lounge! What?! Every other airline I’ve flown on allowed it. American, you need to get on board. Boarding was a nightmare as they did not board handicapped first. One wheelchair bound man was brought on with the plane almost full. He had to maneuver in with people all around him. The steward skipped the whole front row when asking who wanted drinks. There was no offering to assist with my bags, and the steward was serving coach passengers as they were walking in. If you pay for 1st class, that’s the service you should receive. I’ll avoid American Airlines in the future and am canceling my credit card through them.

American airlines is the single worst airline available. This is my second 7+hr itinerary in the last few months that's has been horribly destroyed due to AA's terrible mechanical issues, slow response times with maintenance teams and poorly maintained aircrafts. We missed 3 flights today (they tried to rebook us 3 x) and they refused to compensate our lost resort expenses that we still would have to pay. Never again.

Canceled flight. Paid for two 1st class tickets put on next flight coach. AA did not put me on the 1st class upgrade list and down graded from group 1 boarding to group 3.
