I can't comprehend the high reviews. There was very little interesting information shared. If you didn't already know, you'll learn that San Diego is a desert, a military town, and used to be part of Mexico. Oh, and Top Gun was filmed there. The drivers made corny jokes. It wasn't much different from public transportation. You are better off taking an uber to Coronado. Old Town is just a tourist trap. The rest of the stops are within walking distance of each other.

This was an awesome tour. Jon Laws was our bus driver most of the time and was absolutely amazing. It was a little disappointing that the tour didn't go later, but I guess that's just a seasonal thing. There's a few stops we got off at that I could've stayed at all day.

The Trolley Tours are a great way to spend sightseeing in San Diego! Not having to worry about driving anywhere was amazing as this allowed us to be picked up and dropped off at various stops along the way., and to be able to enjoy the sights as well The seats are not overly comfortable, but were fine especially after a long day of walking at various stops. Staff asked everyone to be quiet and considerate of others on the trolley, but for the most part, people weren't all that accommodating for that.

Great! Their conductors are excellent and very knowledgeable. Plus, they take great care and i really got the sense that they were careful and not just rushing around the city to give the tour. I'd recomend them to anyone wanting to discover more about San Diego. It can get a little busy though, plan an early start time. But it beats paying Ubers and taxis to get wround the city on vacation.

Good way to get around the city without having to deal with the traffic and parking. The drivers were knowledgeable and interesting when sticking to the history of what we were seeing but a few were over the top on audience participation antics. If I wanted to do sing along I would catch a ride on a school bus outing.

If your planning a trip to San Diego I would recomend the Trolley tours. These tours go all over the city and are great for seeing different sites with out having to worry about parking or getting lost. The tours give local information on all the tourists spots along the way that make the trip that much more enjoyable. The trolleys run every 30 minutes so you don't have to wait to long and when you are ready to leave, you don't have to wait long to be picked up.

It can only get 5 stars if all of the conductors are super funny and friendly. Unfortunately not everyone are the same. At least I know one tour guide name Alex is very cool guy. He is very knowledgeable because he always interact with the people in the trolley. He likes breaking the ice and make the whole atmosphere change. In a sense that you are also learning by listening to the conversation between people. To be honest, I know other tour guides are very knowledgeable too, but how much do you remember of what he said compare to learning things under the interesting atmosphere. I can tell you that at the end of the day, the stuff that you learn from riding with Alex is more than riding with anyone else. Alex, thank you for your wooden coin. This is the DC Man if you remember that you have picked up my family twice.

Can we go ahead and give the trolley 10 stars? All the drivers were AMAZING. And each stop on the trip was an adventure on it's own. Each location can very easily be it's own day trip. A few of the more popular locations can be a bit of a wait if the trolley fills up (Cornado and Balboa Park). But I think the company sent an extra trolley for those that had to wait.

You must start early so you can get down on all the stops and experience everything the tour has to offer. Worth the money plus our tour guide Alex was hilarious, he made the tour awesome. You can take food and drinks on the trolley.

Quite an interesting yet bizarre name for a train but it's the train line running from Fort Bragg to Willis that showcases the phenomenal beauty of the area with breathtaking views of the 1000 yr old redwoods. The train offers closed cars with seating as well as open, stand-only cars that optimize the scenic views.

The tour was a good time, but the map with stops is very poorly done. We had to walk around for ~30 minutes looking for a stop with only a cartoon map to go off of. Also, the original stop we were looking for was shut down, which we only found out once we got to it and there was a sign there.

Best part was getting to spend a few hours at the beach in La Jolla. Not really a "beach" tour. They drive you around the city and point down the street to where beaches are. The tour guide was a great guy and fun. First stop is a beautiful 360 view of San Diego.

Absolutely loved our experience on “Bella” the new White Wedding Trolley! We were lucky enough to learn about Old Town Trolley Tours and their unique white trolley just a month before our wedding. Jeanette and Ren helped us to plan transportation to multiple locations in Balboa Park for our wedding photos and made the experience as easy as possible. Charlie (our driver) was great on the day of our event and safely got us to and from our various locations. Our bridal party and everyone we drove past had a blast. Our first driver was very knowledgeable and professional. We had Alex on the second half of the tour and he was knowledgeable, courteous and ENTERTAINING!!! He made the whole tour very engaging with everyone on board. I would do it again on our next visit, that's how great it was! There's many stops you can get off on. We got off on Cornados Island and ride back to the Gaslamp District where our hotel was. Perfect tour all around.

This is a really good chance to see the city and get off at various stops to enjoy the attractions. You start with Old Town which has many shops for souvenirs. But don't shop until you get back. You can get off at about 11 different places. We got off at Coronado Island and walked about four blocks to the hotel. We also got off in Little Italy and had a great dinner. The trolleys run about every 20 minutes so you never have to wait too long at the Trolley Stop to get back on. Or you could just stay on the trolley and never get off and it will be about a 2-hour narrated tour. Be aware got the trolleys are open air so dress appropriately if it is cool outside.

We had the best tour guides! Each had their own style. Jack was our favorite- his stories and jokes were the best. Bob was very entertaining as well. Jim made sure even the little kids were having fun. We were able to get off of the trolley at multiple locations and explore and get back on tthe trolley, unlimited times. Free access to multiple museums on the tour, so awesome. Overall customer service was great, trolley stops were timely. Highly recommend!!!

Great way to see lots of San Diego and Coronado. Worth the price if you start early and utilize the hop-on, hop-off aspect. My one complaints is that some of the music they play is so obnoxiously loud it hurts your ears. This is coming from a 30 year old! Fun stories and history.

Great tour. Must do if you are in San Diego. I loved how Jack, the driver made the whole tour super funny, entertaining but informative about the city. The seats are not super comfortable and are small to be honest if you are planning to be in the bus for the whole tour. This instructions by the staff were pretty clear to us as to where to expect the next bus, if you plan to get down at any stop. At the end, when we were waiting for the last bus of the day, the staff at the stop made sure that everybody got a bus to ride and called for more bus when there were more people to get on to the bus. Overall, we enjoyed our time there. It is worth the price if you plan to start early on not half of the day. Also, I recommend the riders to get the San diego card for the day (or a customized one) adding Balboa park Museums, USS midway museum etc. because the bus stops at these locations. This way you can save quite a bit of money

Tour was good, but it's not a great option to use in place of public transportation because it takes so long to go between stops. Takes about 2 hours to do the full loop. We got 3 day passes to ride the trolley with our San Diego Go Cards and only ended up using the trolley one day.

Loved most of our drivers, and the narration was fun and interesting, even on the highway. Stops were conveniently located. Only four stars because there were not enough trolleys. We had to wait twenty minutes for the next trolley so that we missed our shuttle. The system was also not explained very well in the beginning and our stickers kept falling off. Pins would be better!

I really enjoyed Jeff’s (the driver’s) commentary during the trolley ride around San Diego. He combined facts with fun and threw in a few lame jokes. He was the one to label them lame. The weather was perfect, guess that’s standard for San Diego, so the breeze through the open windows was delightful. I found the ride a delightful way to get acquainted with the city and would recommend it for all newbies like me.

Even though we live in San Diego we do the Old Town trolley tours a couple times a year just to have fun. The guides are great and we continue to learn fun facts about our city. Great Tour AND.. We paid for two days and only used one, they have a money back guarantee and told us to mail our unused tickets to their Key West office. We took the tour from seaport if you used them before keep your tickets as you get $10 discount on your tour Great tour 10 stops. The driver BOXCAR was the BEST you can ever have so funny and entertaining. The tour is a bit over 2 hours but you can hop on and off and can be a whole day thing The last bus departs at 5P from Old town or Coronado island it is $42 all worth it

Do not ride with Patricia.Our first ride with Sam was great! He was friendly and very knowledgeable about the city and sites along the tour. Our last ride was not enjoyable in the least. Patricia was our driver. She was rude, demanded silence “or she’d stop talking,” and was a terrible driver. She told the passengers over and over to be quiet even when there was nobody talking and that she “had decided to not continue her narrative unless the trolley was silent.” We are paying customers and she has a job to do. Not a single adult passenger was rude or disruptive for our entire tour yet four times she demanded silence and stopped her narrative until no one was making a sound. It’s sad to think we all payed mo way to enjoy the sites and learn about San Diego but we’re forced to sit silently and hold on so we weren’t thrown from our seats as she sped through the city and ran a red light. Do not ride with Patricia. Not to mention our trolleys were late and we missed some sights...

This tour was fairly good up until the last ride. The first tour guide was energetic and quirky. The second one was absolutely hilarious. However, the third one, Patrica, was quiet, lame, and bland. She was rude, and didn’t let us talk between our family. It was a good way to get around San Diego, but if you get Patrica, you better get off that dang trolley.

These guys are fantastic! I did this tour alone and would have never been able to figure out all the cool locations with this much ease. The guides are equipped with a perfect mix of personality and historic knowledge. I enjoyed the masterful storytelling and the gorgeous locations. Photos are from some of the locations I visited. Tons of history here and I walked away with an experience I will never forget.

First off I want to commend EVERY SINGLE INDIVIDUAL we met along the way that is part of your staff! They are hilarious, extremely customer service oriented and you can absolutely tell that they LOVE what they do which made the actual experience incredible. Your entire staff gets a 5 star. The reason why this is a 3 star review however, is because there are a few logistical things that need a little work. At our first stop the first 3 trolleys were full and most of the stops we weren't able to get on the next trolley. Most stops we waited a minimum of 1 trolley before getting on to the next one :( The good thing is your staff promptly communicated with dispatch about this issue so they absolutely did what they needed to. The other thing that needs some work is the map. I understand that it is a bit difficult but a couple of the points of reference on the map were not where they were meant to. i would almost want to see an expanded map somewhere so we have a better idea of distances between the points that are being referenced. And maybe schedules of places that you are recommending as one of the museums was closed and we went there at 2:30 PM Other than that, as mentioned every single person on your staff we met was incredible and you are lucky to have such a dedicated staff they made the issues we experience feel a bit better due to their customer service. And the stops were all perfect. Thank you to your team! And hopefully you guys can sort out some of the small logistical things because you have an amazing tour and staff!

I'm very disappointed that I didn't take advantage of this trolley early in the day! This is worth EVERY dime of your time and money! If you don't know what to do or go (like me) in San Diego GET A OLD TOWN TROLLEY ticket and hop on and off to all the great places! I learned that this company has several different trolleys that you can enjoy, Deep Sea, Night Trolley... check their website for more options. Thanks to our tour host James aka Jim whom was VERY upbeat, personable and very informative gave us great ideas, info, and restaurant ideas! Can't wait to revisit this trolley hope James will be my guide!

The tour was very informative and the cast members knew their history of the city. I would have given this 5 stars except that we got off at one particular stop to see the Martin Luther King Promenade only to find that what we wanted to see was not there. The statues we wanted to were not at that one particular stop. But was spread out along three stops. The Brochure should be updated and more detailed specific.

This hop on-hop off trolley tour is the BEST way to see and learn about San Diego. Drivers were knowledgeable and very polite. We saved our feet , and just sat back and relaxed. Some drivers get a little too talkative, but we just got off at next stop and wait a few minutes for the next trolley. Bring money- its not cheap.

Great way to see San Diego and Coronado. It's a lot cheaper than ubering. 10 stops, you get on and off all day from 8 am to 5 pm. They pick up at all 10 stops about every 20 to 30 minutes. Old Town was really nice.

Use at own risk. My wife and I went on a Monday in March. We ended up waiting 30 minutes for a bus. By then there were so many people and no system for who was there first that people who waited a few minutes just got on. We were then told they would call another bus. We called Uber. Next time grab the Trolley drop off schedule, plan your day, and use Uber. Would be cheaper also.

Convenient way to see San Diego. Our experience varied according to drivers and ticket staffers. Jack, one of our drivers, was hilariously funny, friendly and knowledgeable. The other drivers were also friendly. I am only rating this 3 stars because when I first got on the trolley at its main starting point in the Old Town, my wife was 30 seconds behind me. The ticket taker was rather rude and said unkindly that she "better hurry up because they are not waiting". She of course made it in plenty of time. But that attitude did not sit well with me. Fortunately all other staff were wonderful. It just takes one bad apple...

We really enjoyed this tour. I had done one in Nashville that I did not like, but this one is very practical and takes you to great places. Some places you can walk to different meeting points, and it is nice to have a ride to Coronado. Our favorites were Coronado Island and Balboa Park. Definitely hard to fit everything in one day.

This place is absolutely ridiculous! We initially booked an Old Town Trolley Tour and the Ghosts and Gravestones tour on Friday April 19th. We booked our tickets with Kathryn and while she was very helpful. We got the Old Town Trolley reserved for Friday April 19th at 1:40pm and the Ghosts and Gravestones tour for Saturday April 20th at 7:30pm. After everything was all paid for we went on the Old Town Trolley Tour and because we are from the Roseville area we have to leave early on Saturday. Once we got off the bus (I will say that the Old Town Trolley tour wasn’t even that great especially because of the few individuals who continually talked on their phones throughout a vast majority of the trip and one of the rules is to legitimately not talk on your phone. The conductor told them one time to get off their phones but they proceeded to continue talking on their phone. I could barely here what the lady was saying most of the time which left us not really knowing what or where we were supposed to be looking at.) and went back to the booth to get a refund on the Ghosts and Gravestones on Saturday April 20th at 7:30pm, we are met with Rene which is we’re trouble began to arise. I asked for a refund and she said we can only get a refund 24 hours in advance to when the tour is set (in this case 24 hours in advance is Friday April 19 at 7:30). I responded saying “perfect, were here almost 27 hours in advance”. We continue this debate for a few minutes, then Rene realizes we bought the tickets that day and the Ghosts and Gravestones tour was set for the next day. She gives us this number to call saying they’ll be able to give you the refund after you fill out a form. After the call ends, Rene gives us another return form to fill out around 4:18pm and she advised we take a picture of it as proof. After we arrived at our Airbnb we complete the first form emailed to us by the phone number Rene gave to us. Fast forward to today, Monday April 22, they got back to us saying that they basically couldn’t give us a refund. I decided to call again and I believe I spoke with Jennifer who was hands down, the rudest individual I have ever spoken with. She couldn’t give me any answers I wanted and each answer I received from her was aggressively different from the answers I received from Rene. I got tired of the inappropriate behavior I have witnessed over the phone so I initially asked for the manager. She snaps and says “i’m the manager”. I then respond with can I speak to the supervisor and she immediately says “no, I am the top”. If that is the type of person this company wants to have representing them then that is completely and utterly disappointing. They’re losing valuable customers solely based on her own unprofessional behavior. Additionally, all this new information that Jennifer told me was never discussed by any employees from the booth because had we known that we obviously wouldn’t have purchased the tickets. For a company that is “committed to offering our guests the best vacation “experience” in the industry” they really aren’t doing a great job at it.

This was a waste of money. Why? Because we took the trolley at 4 00pm their was no time to get off the trolley and walk round and get on the next one. I should had gotten on my car follow the trolley route map that they give you and we could had have a better time at Coronado island. If you have a car with you don't waste your money.

I live locally and I’ve taken the Old Town Trolley several times. It is a great way to see different areas of the city. It’s nice that you can get off and on at 10 different locations. For me, the best part are the tour drivers. On this trip our first driver was not very good because of this we got off at Sea Port Village. We got back on when the next trolley came. Mike was our next driver and he was Fantastic! His knowledge and his personality are wonderful we almost didn’t want to get off. When we got back on Tim was our next driver and he was also good along with his funny stop light jokes. Whether you’re a tourist or a local, I recommend the Old Town Trolley. You will learn history about our city and you are able to see so many places in San Diego.

I bought tickets online for a discount and they had a pickup and drop off point right in front of my hotel in the marina area. It couldn't have been more convenient. The drivers are very friendly, and the buses are very clean and comfortable. I never had a problem getting on a bus as others have said. They seem to run on time, and although most of the buses were almost full, I was never turned away and always managed to find a seat. The tour covers a decent area of San Diego and will also get you out to Coronado Island and back. The only downside I have for this tour, is their operating hours. If you are trying to squeeze as much as possible into one day, you will not get to see a lot. I recommend a two day pass if you want to take your time. The buses don’t run very late. I think the last one left Coronado Island at 4p or 5p. Pro Tip - if you want a dollar discount, open up a chat session with one of their support agents. Just ask some random questions, and you’ll get a coupon code for $1 off each ticket. What I didn't like - they made you wear a sticker on your shirt to get on and off of the bus. I got off at one stop near Petco park and wandered into a seedy area to check out a brewery. I wasn't overly thrilled to advertise the fact that I was an out of town tourist.

The drivers were rude and you could tell they just wanted everyone off their trolley. Starting the tour, stops are difficult to find. I had to call customer service because we weren't starting in Old Town. When someone answered I was immediately sent to a voicemail. We tried to ask a driver where the pick up was and all he would say was he couldn't open the door. Luckily, people on the trolley were nicer than the driver and pointed us towards the pick up location. (It took two seconds, but the driver couldn't be bothered.) On the last ride, the driver was obviously upset that we got on the trolley. The one in front of his was full, he eventually made us depart when space opened up on the other trolley. The drivers are knowledgeable, but you would think that knowledge would include customer service. Horrible experience for us, I would have walked around had I known. The stops aren't that far apart, especially downtown area. Alex, our last driver was great! Look for his trolley, as he's the only one worth riding with.

Way over priced. Somewhat interesting but the bad part is that the exhaust fumes from the engine on each trolley will damn near kill you if the trolley is sitting at a stop light for too long and you happen to be in just the right (or wrong) seat. You guys need to do something about that exhaust. It was almost unbearable.
