Last night 9/9/19, I stopped at this rest stop because I was starting to feel sick. Over the next few hours, I felt worse and worse to the point where I asked for an ambulance. I’m pretty much ok now (I have chronic migraines and new medication aggravated everything), but I will never forget the kindness shown to me by the employees working there and two women parked next to me. If I remember correctly, it was all men working that evening. My apologies for the barf right in front of the parking lot. They all showed me such kindness: bringing me water and checking on me regularly. I don’t know how to find their boss, so I hope this will reach him/her somehow. Thank you and God bless you all.

If you are traveling in the Deep South from Alabama to Florida this is a safe place to stop and rest. They have armed security and they are very visible and active. I was alone and as a woman I am very concerned with where I stop. I would recommend this place. They have clean restrooms, snack machines, security, and it's in a convenient location.

Hate it, very bad experience. Me and disabled husband stayed overnight in a van, en route to panama city for hurricane work. Was awakened at 4:30am by a man cutting grass. Security told me there was a 3 hour limit to stay, and that i am not supposed to leave my car to go outside once i have parked, i said what if i have to go to the bathroom, he said thats ok. Stupid me said i thought it would be ok to stay overnight due to no motel vacancies and people are staying anywhere they can to help panama city recover and as 3 black attendants stood in front of me a woman said your not in panama city baby. I asked what do you mean, i asked if this was a racial thing they had against me and they nodded. I woke my disabled husband up at 5am and we left. They are commissioned employees and not florida DOT and should all be fired for treating people in an indecent manner. During a hurricane situation there should be exceptions at rest areas for overnighting til arrangements can be made for people that are in town to help.

WOW! Florida knows how to do rest areas. I was traveling from Alabama to Florida. I stopped at an Alabama rest area and it was quite boring. Later, I stopped at one of the Florida rest areas and was blown away. It was super clean, lots of info, big. Good job Florida!

Great stop! Most states don't even have a welcome center on non-interstate entrances, making this all the more interesting. Bathrooms weren't as good as the interstate rest areas, but solid. You can collect some information for your trip into the state, so a must if you are travelling with kids and you haven't picked out any fun things to do yet. Plenty of parking, and in town, so a good place to rest and make plans

(Used to have delicious orange juice, but apparently Florida's governor doesn't care about tourists anymore, and wants to close down all the welcome stations, boo!) But it’s the people who work here that make this a must-stop! Couldn't ask for nicer, friendlier folks, and this is why we stop here every trip, going (and coming home!)

Great welcome center with friendly personnel and clean bathrooms for a family. Due to budget cuts, they do not offer the free small cup of orange juice anymore, but the welcome center still serves it part well. They gave us many free booklets to help us decide what we wanted to do while on vacation and were all friendly in doing so.

This visitors center really shows how prized tourism is a for Florida! Especially if you compare it to the Alabama center just down and across the road. Lol. Anyway this center has tons of brochures for all manner of attraction in Florida and they even offer fresh squeezed orange juice. Lots of benches and tables for picnics and pretty large restrooms. The astronaut and dolphin statues are also cool and I always love checking them out on each trip down.

This place was filled with tourists of all backgrounds. I enjoyed the atmosphere but mostly the kindness of the people who filled this place. The place was very clean and stocked with supplies, I didn't find anything that could have been done differently. There weren't any hosts to provide any assistance had some been needed...but it definitely would have been an added bonus. Great place to visit when u need a break or rest.
