Laurent Chevrette IS THE WORSE. I'm doing every one a favor by saying this: He is actually a real person, with fake business addresses on Google, who does OK tests for companies, but then outsources all the jobs he gets to people he either does not pay, or pays 0.04CAD or less. He’s then always “in a meeting” or ‘hopping on a plane” and cannot answer calls/meetings requests. I had MULTIPLE businesses fire him over the years, but he still lists them as happy clients on his Web site… (Google and Apple notably) I’d say 80% of the formal quality complaints I’m asked to investigate are done by him. He'll then restart new "companies" with "worldwide" addresses. What he delivers IS WORSE than the output of a machine translation… that says a lot! He is a textbook case of why translation firms don’t trust professional translators! He's the only person every agency/client/freelancer should be warned about!

I contacted Mr. Chevrette personally after receiving a job offer following exams for post-machine translation. I completed all exams successfully and awaited work that never came. When I contacted by email, him he arrogantly responded that I was evidently refused employment because there were French grammar mistakes in my email. I nicely explained that French is not my mother tongue and I translate from French toward English because my specialty is ENGLISH. Very unprofessional response. After this response I verified the company info such as the website only to find out that the Facebook page, email addresses, and phone number were no longer in service. It’s a shame that a so-called “business man” would respond in this way to a person simply searching for information concerning a job offer... I definitely do not recommend this company as an employer and judging by the contact information no longer in service I would definitely not recommend the company to complete professional translations!
