I've worked with many interpreting agencies, as a part time employee, and as an independent contractor. CommGap is the most professional interpreting company I've ever worked with since 3 years. The pay is decent (you get payed within 30-40 days according to your good reputation, including your previous experience and training). The same amount agreed on will be paid when any of cancellations. The schedule is flexible, and the platform where interpreters can log in to find their assignments is clear, well organized, and a remarkable resource where interpreters can find their records together with their payment details. The company also has an app where interpreters can download and find their assignments, pick them up, and a place where the provider can sign their assignments. The office is available always to answer back.
I highly recommend this company for interpreters; and also for providers to work with; I was professionally and fully screened for my TB and flue shot, HIPPA license and/or training, my educational certificate, and my interpreting training that I had before.
Almost 2 years ago, I managed to complete the Allied Health Medical Terminology Course for Nursing Major from Sacramento City College. This course is truly essential for all medical interpreters. So if you're interested in applying for this company, you'd better keep in mind that such courses and licenses are required.
