Update: After another 3 rounds of revision emails back and forth. My documents are finally correctly updated. They offered a 50% discount to me for any future translation work. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pro: The services is fast. I initiated a request late at night and asked for a review at an incorrectly-translated document at 7:30 am, and the staff was always there. Con: 1) Quality of translation is lousy. I asked to translate 3 documents. One of them is my birth certificate, and they mistaken my gender. I didn't understand how people make mistake like this, which didn't even require translation skills. All you needed was to pay attention to details. The second document is my school recommendation form. When I received the translation draft, I was surprised to see so many translation mistakes. Those mistakes were obviously due to machine translation without research on correct terms. I've been bilingual for about 15 years, and I know the difference between good and bad quality. So I made comments and sent back twice, and this document is still in progress. 2) Quality of revision is unacceptable. I received 3 emails for my review, and submitted my revisions on 3 documents through the links they provided. Then I received 3 emails for my review again. The first 2 files were fixed so I approved them. However, The 3rd file was only fixed on page 1, the major mistakes on page 2 were not corrected at all. So I submitted my revision again through their link. It was not that I didn't provide correct terms to them, but they paid no attention to client's requests. I pointed out the mistakes and provided correct terms using comments function in Word for the 1st revision. I also highlighted the unchanged items in 2nd revision and provided correct terms in the same way. I thought it was an easy fix since all you needed to do was copying from comments and proofreading. HOWEVER, I RECEIVED A CERTIFIED DOCUMENT TODAY SAYING ALL MY FILES ARE APPROVED AND NOTARIZED. WHEN I OPENED IT, THE 3RD DOCUMENT WAS STILL INCORRECT!!! I submitted revision twice, and mistakes were still there laughing at me. 3) I submitted twice for revisions on my 3rd document. When I received incorrectly-translated document, I was very mad. How come I handed in correct information and revision to you, submitted in your way, and paid the fees, and still received the wrong translation! So I called them, and project manager emailed me that they only saw my approvals not request for changes. I clicked the link for revision twice, and submitted my files twice in the same way. How could the 1st time worked, but 2nd time didn't? At that point, I was totally speechless. I'm still waiting for the final product right now. If I receive anything, I'll come here and update.

I had a 2-page translation from Spanish to English and was shocked when I received the draft, which they send before certifying the final version. There were more than 20 errors, including basic misspellings of proper names and dates. I had to do it over again for them. The only reason I contacted this company was to get a Certified Translation requested by the government. I would certainly not recommend this company. EDIT: I´m increasing to 2-stars due to the prompt service, as promised by the merchant. However, the response from the merchant that I was trying to use the language used at the time of my old document is not accurate. First, even though the document was old it was still readable. Second, the language used back then IN THIS PARTICULAR DOCUMENT is pretty much the same as it is used today. Third, the initial draft even had some missing text, from the TITLE of the document (a very imp matter) to a full sentence that was completely left out on the third paragraph. The merchant can easily corroborate this and update his/her answer if need be. We stand by everything we said already. This translation was very unacceptable, particularly since it was from Spanish, such a common language. The merchant simply did not use a competent translator that particularly knew the regional language terms used in the translation. I mean, if I´m translating a document from Puerto Rico, then I´ll try to avoid using someone from Mexico or Spain since they most likely will not be familiar with the terminology used in that country.
