Translational research bridges the gap between rigorous research and public benefit and is core to the schools of IUPUI. Translational scholars across a range of disciplines conduct important research and make significant contributions that enhance human development and well-being. Professor Sandra Petronio started the TRIP initiative in 2003 to recognize and champion translational scholars and bring local and national attention to their great work. Chancellor Emeritus Charles Bantz now serves as the director of the Center for TRIP. The center is campus-wide with programs that both illustrate and celebrate translational scholars and promote innovative evidence-based programs and multidisciplinary interactions.
