You must have seen that the average score it has is almost the best, and it's based on a large number of opinions, so we can say that the score is very accurate. If there are many people who bothered to evaluate when they are happy, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to put evaluations when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Tourist Attraction is included in the category of Art museum.
First: a brief confession: I never actually went in. We had so much fun outside that we ran out of time to actually see the museum. The sculptures outside were beautiful! If you've got a spare minute, it's completely worth a stop! The view from the top is breathtaking.
The wildlife art is phenomenal...the building is a work of art itself! Beautiful and plentiful sculpture in a remarkable setting...
If you are passing by visit the museum- it is definitely well maintained place.. Nice statues on the entrance and outside areas..
In Spite of the name, this is not a "national" museum... it's not federally owned or managed. While it's quite interesting, they don't accept federal recreation passes, and there's a$15 adult entry fee.
Loved the pieces we saw!
Outside sculptures are beautiful and indoor paintings are amazing. This was one of our most impressive locations to visit.
Simply GORGEOUSbuilding with a fantastic collection of western wildlife art including many by world renowned artists. Plenty of friendly staff on hand to answer questions. Palate Cafe has stunning views and delicious, locally sourced food. Don't miss the Game Stew. We could have stayed in The Members Lounge( open to the public) all day.
Some wonderful metal sculptures inside and out. Scenic location right across from the national elk refuge just outside of Jackson.
Loved it. Very moving.
Excellent place to visit. The building and the view are perfect. The sculpture and feel of the place is great. We also enjoyed the artwork. You should check this place out. There is a fun area for children as well.
Beautiful compelation of wildlife art.
I feel everyone should stop and experience this museum. The outside sculptures are beautiful, and visiting inside is nothing less. I especially enjoyed the interactive exhibits. This should be on everyone's roadtrip list.
Amazing animal artists
Very interesting place.
Interesting art and displays. Not sure I felt it was quite worth the price of admission. Cool kids area, gorgeous building, breathtaking views, but kind of pricey. I guess if you really love moose paintings?
I loved this place. Probably my favorite art museum ever. Definitely a must see.
Phenomenal, must see stop
Attended the Tuba Christmas Concerto... Wonderful!
Very reasonable price with a good collection of arts. Love the staff working there.
My son and daughter in law held their wedding reception here on 30th December 2018. The surroundings were beautiful, the service excellent and the food delicious. We all had an absolutely fabulous time. Very happy to recommend.
Great place...very nice to visit
Cool bronze statues everywhere
Amazing staff and environment. Absolutley loved the museum, and its location. A must visit destination!
If you love wildlife, or if you love art, you should go. If you love both, like me, you'll absolutely love it. The collection is beautiful and well presented. There's a stunning Rungius gallery, some Warhol pieces, and more. I love that one of the gallery is dedicated to raise awareness about the animal trade. The building and its location are well worth a stop even if you don't go in. Just go!
It wasn't too bad, I mean all we did was take photos of the sculptures
Beautiful, will organized exhibits. Very courteous staff.
Great art! A must see.
Out of all of my trip to Yellowstone this was by far the most amazing and memorable for me. As a young artist with a passion for color and art this Art Museum about had me in tears, so many beautiful pieces and the building itself has an amazing was of glowing together! There is an area for the little kiddos to play and have fun, learn and so some art of their own and a section where they can read with dolls like the wild things. I am in love with this place, I will be taking my family and kids there again one day. They have a beautiful gift shop that isnt overwhelming and they have some beautiful and unique gifts. They have amazing things to look at outside along with the view! I dont think I could have found a more amazing and beautiful art Museum to go to.
Great sculptures in and outside. Beautiful surrounding above the valley. I thought a $15 admission was a little steep for the amount of art to see.
Great location, space and artwork. One would not expect this caliber of art in Wyoming. Fantastic kids section too.
This is a great museum. And the volunteer guides are wonderful!
Highly recommened, allow half a day as they is so much diversity.
Very cool art, conservation, zoology and animal behaviors. Worth the time/money. Allow at least 2-3 hrs, not including sculpture walk.
Beautiful art though I would have been more satisfied with a $10 ticket rather than $15.
Always a wonderful place... not just blowing smoke here but the ladies in the gift shop are the absolute nicest people you will ever meet.. if you go in please tell them that.. it is such a rear thing that people in those positions are nice anymore..
The environmental and architectural of the museum is very well suited to the subject matter. The museum has gathered an impressive collection of wild life artwork, offering a decent spectrum of wildlife art. Information placards are actually useful and a good length. There is a children's area appropriate for an art museum with several interactive exhibits for youngsters. Admissions is very reasonable, and there are several sculptures you can see outside for free
Beautiful location on a bluff in the center of a majestic natural landscape. The outdoor sculpture walk as well as the aspen walk provide fantastic opportunities to walk atop a butte in the Teton area. The museum building and facilities are …
Architecturally impressive building with a variety of pieces both old and new. The art was excellent however for me the building and its placement up on a hill overlooking the national elk refuge was the winner. No elks were seen, but the weather made it a perfect time to stand outside the museum and soak in nature's beauty.
AWESOME ! ! ! ! would give 10 stars if possible. Well worth the admittance. Nicely presented, spacious, easy on the eyes. Enjoyed the outside pieces even more! Would go back again, just wish we were local :-)
I was in a bus tour group of 40 and the docents divided us into 3 smaller groups. Our fabulous docent needed to quickly get us through each room so the next docent could do her stuff. I was never so mesmerized by art before. I could literally put my nose inches away from the works and marvel at the thousands of brushstrokes. As I left a room a Rungius piece seemed to glow and call my attention. I really want to revisit the place.
Images of local wildlife, especially grizzly and black bears, moose, wolves, birds, local plants. Side garden of sculptures by musician Herb Alpert. Restaurant, gift shop, and docent-led tours available.
One on the best nature art museums. A real treat.
What a wonderful display of art. Well worth the money!
Beautiful artworks
NMWA is a unique and extraordinary collection, primarily of large sculptures and paintings from mid eighteenth century to the present. The modern building takes full advantage of the bute location overlooking the plains before the mountains. The large scale sculptures of birds, moose, elk, mountain lion, bears, long horn sheep, white tail deer, and more are stunning. They have a fine collection of Rungion, including sketches, oils, water color and sculptures. The displays are thoughtfully arranged with informative timelines, posters, placards, and videos. Very kid friendly with lots of interactive sites. Beautiful cafe, lovely restrooms. Great gift shop too.
An amazing gem we didn't even know about! Stopped in after driving past the sign. There's a sculpture trail outside, although some of it is hard to get to in winter, so we mostly observed from the lot. Excellent exhibits, both modern and ancient. A cute educational area for kids and a spotting scope to observe the elk refuge across the street. Definitely worth a stop in!
Just not my thing
Picturesque wildlife art and sculptures
Great activity for a rainy day and they have a very nice children's area. Be sure to take a selfie with the moose sculpture out front! I mean, where else can you take a selfie with a moose?
Beautiful wildlife paintings.
Best Museum ever!! Go up in the morning and then have lunch! Or participate in one of their 1st Sunday events. They are awesome!!
We didn't go into the museum, but ate at its restaurant and toured the outdoor sculpture. There's lots to see outside and the sculptures are beautifully placed. We loved the restaurant - perched outside, with delicious food and good service. It was a tranquil stop after a day of biking and hiking, a little gem on the road from here to there.
This is one of the nicest museums I’ve ever visited. The building itself is a work of art beautifully integrated into the environment. And the exhibits are stunning. Only a few minutes out of Jackson Hole, this museum is a real treasure. A real must see!!
A beautiful range of paintings and sculptures. The Western Visions collection is so fine. A must see if you visit Jackson Hole!
Amazing place to take kids. The most kid friendly art museum I have ever been to.
An amazing array of western art and beautifully displayed. The setting overlooking the Elk Refuge just adds the atmosphere. Great gift shop.
Lots of nice sculptures!
Great cafe / restaurant inside. Gallery is awesome. They host lots of local events with live music
Pretty good place to visit. Takes a couple of hours to see all the exhibits.
A wonderful place to visit!
Indoor and outdoor works. Beautiful scenery to go with the art.
It was worth our stop to appreciate the bronze outdoor sculptures in the area. We got there pretty late to go to the Wildlife Museum but definitely worth the stop.
Nice presentation
One of my favorite museums in a full year of traveling. Well done..!! Must see..
A very welcoming resource of wildlife art . Incredible paintings and sculptures for the trained and untrained eye! Hours of pleasant observation and peace can be spent here.
Absolutely breathtaking works of art !
Excellent break from hiking and other activities. First rate facilities and helpful staff. Our children within a wide age span got a lot out of the experience. Definitely recommend this touch of class and educational opportunity.
You can explore the outside and lobby sculptures for free. That alone is worth the trip. Tired as we were, we thoroughly enjoyed the inside art. The had a special exhibit on the photography of National Geographic photographer, Stephen Wilkes which was amazing, stunning, breath - taking, and incredible. There was also a film of a presentation he gave with Q&A afterwards. The gift shop was great. The restaurant closes at 4:00, the museum at 5:00. I highly recommend a visit. It was a highlight for us.
Fun place to visit, the film about the photographer Mangelson, was interesting as well we visited his gallery in downtown, and had done lunch next door. The enormous sculptures outside heading up and all around the outside were just incredible. Because the cafe, and gift store along with an exhibit area were closed, I felt a bit “short changed”.
What a gem in Jackson Hole - you could spend an hour or a day looking at Masters work, old and new. The lobby alone is worth a visit
Pretty cool place with some awesome and large wildlife sculptures. There is also a restaurant, short trail to view the outside sculptures, and a paid gallery inside the museum. O did not go through the paid gallery, however, it is still worth a quick stop to see the free portion and sculptures if you have a few free minutes.
What a gem! This museum houses some amazing art collection from wildlife around Wyoming, especially Yellowstone and Jackson Hole. The quality of the art work is stunning, from world renowned artists and merits a visit to anyone visiting Jackson Hole, The Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Park.
The museum has a lovely cafe with delicious soups, salads, and sandwiches. The view from the cafe is breathtaking overlooking the Elk refuge. And outlining the mountains to the East is the Sleeping Indian. The snow garlands the head dress like feathers. In the summer they have outside tables and chairs. Food tastes better while being in the midst of God's creation.
Great artwork!
A relaxing way to spend a cold afternoon!
This was a good option on a bad weather day. Again - I'd rather be outside - but the museum and exhibits were well done.
When you're in Jackson this is a great place to visit before going to the Parks
Take time to appreciate the great collection of art both inside and out.
Beautiful and fun
A favorite. Beautiful artwork.
We by chance stopped in, spectacular!!
Amazing art and stories ' the totem art is cool
Beautiful Art and Building. When we were in the gift shop asking about prints from a featured artist. They told us to go to the Gallery in Jackson Hole. The mature lady working was very dismissive of us and spoke down to us as if we could not afford the art in the Gallery. We will go back.
This is worth taking a half-day to visit. More than just a collection of animal paintings, it places wildlife art in its historical context, explaining the shifting views on nature and wildlife during the artists' lifetimes and how these are reflected in their work - in addition to the intersection of subject matter with popular atistic styles such as the Impressionist movement. Most of the pieces are paintings, but there are also sculptures and photography. It broadens the perspective to see that concerns over wildlife issues - and conversely, the role of nature in the life of man - are not merely a modern phenomenon but that people have been grappling with these questions for a long time. I would place this museum on the same level as any inner-city institution.
Beautiful works, beautiful location, great information on art through history
Amazing art and staff. Very detailed and informative videos and signs. Only complaint is that they take your backpacks and do not put them in a secure space. Otherwise great. Would reccommend
Unfortunately we got there too late to do more than blitz through the museum (dang United Airlines delaying us nearly 12 hours) but the staff allowed us in at no cost. The works were beautiful. I really enjoyed the sculpture.
A fun visit.
Amazing art. Such a cool building and very friendly staff
Really a huge complex, with a variety of exhibits. Well worth the stop. Could spend all day there.
Great museum
Been around a long time
A wonderful museum, I can't wait to go again. We didn't budget enough time unfortunately, and could have used an extra hour even without going to either film. The early art is interesting (that is not what deer look like) and seeing the progression into modern day was wonderful. Mangelsen was the featured artist in the rotating gallery, and his work absolutely blew us away. That one gallery was well worth the price of admission. Highly recommended!
A must see!! Beautiful!
Lousy art worse people. Won't carry children's wildlife book I wrote. Shameful.
Great museum for western art. Good selection and Rungus fans will go wild. Some famous artists featured here and section for local up and not so old comers. Well, worth a stop for art lovers
Wonderful museum with a great view and even better paintings and statues!
Very nice galleries.
Just ate there today. The Bison Gyro was fairly good but the wrap was non-traditional in a small and hard way that is not for everyone. The chips were vinegar when they came out which wasn't my favorite. Ice tea was good.
Amazing place inside and outside. I about artists & the surrounding widelife. I learned a lot and really nice gift shop.
GREAT DISPLAY - WORTH A VISIT!! Beautiful observation deck, great view of the valley with a free telescope to use!! Gives you a good understanding of the local wildlife and you get to see the changes in human perspective over time. PRICE$$: You can get discount on the somewhat hight prices if you are a child, student, vet, military, or senior person which brought our groups price per person down to around $7 instead of the usual $12 per adult. LAYOUT: The layout is scattered but small enough to make sure you can see everything in at least 2 hours if you don't linger. DISPLAYS: There is a very informative display about invisible boundaries and the affect on wild life migration patterns in Yellowstone area that is eye opening. There are interactive displays and videos that convey the scale of the Yellowstone ecosystem very effectively. You get to see almost first hand how animals are oblivious to the "boundaries" of the park. The display is on loan for a few seasons I believe so go check it out if you're in the area this year!! (2018) There is also a statue of the mythical Hercules taming the stallions, which was made by the same man who sculpted the famous mount Rushmore faces. KIDS: kids will definitely enjoy the visit to the museum. Not only is is small enough so they won't get bored, but there's plenty of interactive displays and interesting pictures. There is an entire section for kids with workshops and play areas. Great thinking!!
This museum is very well laid out and in a beautiful location that overlooks the National Elk Refuge. There's a little bit of interpretation along with each piece and the art is arranged in periods and by featured artist which allows some comparison. Some galleries are dedicated to meaningful interpretations of current ecological challenges and the roles that artists play in telling that story. It's very compelling and thought provoking.
Beautiful place with a free sculpture garden loop outside the museum. $12 for adults, but you get $2 off with the coupon by the Palate host.
Fantastic Exhibit. Painting and some amazing sculptures. A must see in my opinion when you are in the area.
Beautiful works.
A really incredible place to spend some time and view some exceptional art!
Fabulous. We drove past twice. So happy we finally stopped. I could have spent two more hours there.
This is an amazing art museum! If you like art and photography, you will love it!
Didnt pay to get in. Just checked out the sculptures
The artwork was beautiful and I would definitely recommend catching lunch at Palate while you're there.
It's a neat place to check out. The whole time spent in and out is no more than 90 minutes.
The art their is beautiful, definitely a good place to go visit. I highly recommend if you go to Jackson for a visit.
Fabulous museum. If you are into wildlife, don't miss this if you are in the area.
I thought this would be a cheesy tourist trap, but I was SO WRONG! This place blew me away! The art was amazing, the exhibits ranged from the history of wildlife art to an exhibit on animal migrations, and there were animal pieces from 2500 BC and paintings from the 1600s. They do a great job of providing backgrounds on the artists and eras, and even detail how wildlife art changed over the centuries and why different scenes were popular. There are even 2 areas for children to learn and play. Definitely worth a stop if you even slightly like art, and be sure to bring the kids! Plus, amazing views of the Elk Reserve from their deck.
Nice display
I try to visit this museum every time I'm in Jackson. Checked their website and they were supposed to be open today. Drove there and discovered they were closed for a private event. Could have had the decency to post that as they posted other public event closures. Very disappointed.
Great place to be. So much to see & do. Loved lunch at Palate too.
A wonderfully executed museum. Architecture and subject matrer fully integrated. Lunch at the Palate was fabulous. Don't miss Tuba Christmas in December.
It was beautiful peaceful and educational
A must see for all visitors to the area. Great children's area too!
Beautiful place and has some Briestad too.
Very diverse offerings. So many awesome exhibits. And the building is amazing. The surrounding landscape has very large metal wildlife sculptures
Beautiful paintings, photographs, and sculptures!
Great place to visit!
Ok, let me start off by saying I'm not the most cultured individual on the planet. That being said, I had a great time here. The staff was friendly and the artwork was great. I'd come back.
Very nice experience. Great displays. Creative use of space. Interesting variety of exhibits.
Clean restrooms staff was very helpful and all of the exhibits were absolutely a work of art...the building itself sits on top of a hill with a very nice observation over the Elk Refuge....5 stars for this location its a must see.
Take your time here. There are some great artwork for you to discover.
A Jackson gem - not to be missed on any visit.
In a town of outstanding, this place rates High. Jackson is top-shelf on everything
This was such a hidden gem. The kids and adults all had a great time exploring the beautiful art. Highly recommend.
MY BEST FRIENDS GOT MARRIED HERE 10 YEARS AGO! love this place.
Wonderful museum. I really enjoyed the way every room was thoughtfully laid out, with easy to understand written descriptions. The exhibit on Nat Geo photography is very special.
Ate lunch in Cafe. Indeed it is a restaurant with a view. Nice exhibits. It is a place most people drive by and do not realize it is up on the hill on their way to Yellowstone.
Museum was open. Just went to the gift shop. Great choices available for souvenirs.
Best, and most important, Museum for Wildlife Art in the world.
This place is amazing. We visited in September and happened to catch the annual art show and sale put on by Western Visions. The entire museum leaves nothing more to desire, every part of it is fun and can be appreciated. You can easily spend 2 hours there browsing inside and outside, and still leave you wanting to see it again.
What an amazing display of 2 and 3 dimensional works of art. The exterior sculptures are massive and prepare visitors for a real treat.
