Loved our visit. Very special to see items and history from my Great Uncle Verne Elliott.
As you walk into the museum you at once feel embraced with the ole true west, you will never forget ,nor want to forget,a must see.
Best collection of wagons in the Rocky Mountain region.
If you love history of the the old west, this is the place to go.
Great little stop in Cheyenne. Great for a day trip. I'm not into rodeo but it was still interesting. There was an art auction/sale while we were there, very entertaining to view what the local artists had to offer, they're very talented.
Not worth the price. Sorry.
Had a great time and will go back.
Nice museum to visit! All kinds of old horse drawn wagons
I've been told this is the largest outdoor Rodeo arena in the world it's an incredible experience it's not something that you can do in just one day and go on down the road. It's something that should be experienced over several days since there's so much to see it's kind of like it going for a one-day visit to Disneyland that really doesn't want a lovely experience I recommended for anyone who can stop by.
Enjoyed seeing all the exhibit.
Over priced
Rich history.well worth a visit.
Beautiful museum. I Highly recommend it.
Awesome place
Place to be if you like history of rodeo
Tired of driving to Denver so I stopped into Cheyenne to see the museum, really good place to take a break. History of bull riding and country living back then is interesting. Can take less than hr to do. Worth taking the break from the road. Nice town.
I enjoyed this place. If you have any interest in the local history of Cheyenne this is a must visit.
Local gem of a Museum. Great history and professional displays!
One of a kind crafts and souveniers. Enjoyed it although did not have time to attend the rodeo.
So much to see, so much to read. Lovely.
Fun for all ages
Wonderful way to spend a couple of hours.
GREAT information
Friendly staff and interesting exhibits. Great carriages and other exhibits!
Enjoyable day in Cheyenne.
Great little museum. Worth the price of admission
Great to visit...
Outstanding museum which brings the history of the west and Frontier Days to life. There are plenty of displays to touch, videos to watch and kids activities to keep everyone entertained. Additionally, the displays are constantly changing so there is always something new to see and learn.
Nice museum, staff was terrific during our visit.
Interesting place to visit. Loved all the wagons on display.
Fun museum for cheap. The kids loved it.
Awesome History
Very cool place, all the old carriages and the history behind them was my favorite part! I wont spoil it with all my pictures but here is a couple. I believe admission was $10 per person One could easily spend 2 hours here reading all the history.
Has a lot of history cool learning for kids. Wild west stuff and all
Would have loved to see it. But we were denied access because my husband has an emotional support dog for his doctor diagnosed PTSD.
Great museum!
I loved Cheyenne. Great town.
As West as it gets. Do stop by if you're in the area.
Awesome history of CFD.
A freakin mazing!
RONNIE Dunn's photo exhibition was well worth the stop! The Lensmen Project (Ron and Ron) takes the rodeo excitement and brings it home as art. The interview portion is 2 good ole boys talking about the rodeo of all rodeos as from behind the lens. Lifesize images are unique. Pieces are selling unframed from 2 to 14 thousand. $ No t shirts or postcards to buy. Just an old fashioned exhibit. Check it out folks!
Parking is tough and they will tow you. I witnessed several. Put your walking shoes on!
This is must to see every year! Good times and great memories! Different entertainment every night!! That night was Keith Urban!!! OMG!!! The night before was Post Molone!!! Great atmosphere good vibes and one hell of a weekend!!
Love the museum and the museum store. There is so much history that I didn't even know and I am a local. Ronnie Dunn's photographs are fantastic (this is Ronnie Dunn of Brooks & Dunn). The store has all type of shirts, jackets and jewelry.
This rating is for the Lane Frost statue only. I made my family let me stop here on our way through town on a long road trip just for this. You can stop here whether the rest of the facility is open or not.
The cost is 8 bucks to get in. One section of it was down for maintenance. Not a super large place. Does have alot ot interesting information and videos.
Lot wagons and the history of the rodeo.
The art room wasn't open but the rest of the museum was fantastic
Very fascinating!
A really helpful staff, Very cool Western items to see and a really nice collection of wagons, many different types
This is a great place to learn the history of Cheyenne's Frontier Days. Wonderful experience!
A great place to visit, very interesting with something for everyone.
Great sculpture!
Great understanding of the western past times and Cowboys ways
Nice local museum, large array of exhibits, and a corner for the youngsters to do hands on.
9 bucks to get in.
Great place for western gifts and Cheyenne Frontier Days merchandise.
Tried to get some information from the offices here. Rather than give me 30 seconds of their time I was instantly dismissed. Perhaps they should re read their own mission statement, and focus on being more community driven.
If you like rodeo, western history this is the place. There are so many wagons of old restored and you could spend hours here.
Neat place
Had a great time
Seems a good place from outside. We were late . It closes at 5 PM
Only went in to get a pressed penny. The gift shop was nice but didn't make it in the museum. Hopefully next time.
We loved it, could've stayed there all day, but my feet got tired. Great movie provided a resting place. Oh, wow, what displays.
Awesome place to go. Spent a couple of hours and enjoyed the whole thing. Wish they had a self guided tour book. Lots of rodeo history and an amazing number of old carriages and a few other things from the early 20th century. Very interesting. If you have any I treat in the history of the area you have to go.
I love Cheyenne Wyoming. It's like going back a hundred years in time. I would go every year if i could. It was better than the mountains in Colorado or the beaches of Florida. Truly awesome place for a vacation.
Overview of one of the oldest rodeos in america
Had a great time visiting this historic museum!
Wonderful. Visited a couple of yrs ago during Frontier Days and enjoyed. Saw items I missed before.
Push, shove, be a jerk. CFD officials do not care CFD officials at all levels believe it is a free all. Not one CFD employee or volunteer would support us after we had been in position for hours. Much aggression from them but no support after people pushed in on us after hours of the same position on the concrete.
Great portrayal of western and Cheyenne history. We loved it!!
What a wonderful museum we hope to come back when we can spend more time
It's a fun family rodeo, fair
Rodeo is King in this area. Wonderful history visit.
First of all I hate Western themed anything, but this was actually pretty cool to go see. I went with my dad and nephew, my dad is originally from Wyoming and wanted to revisit some things from the past and this was one of them. I was skeptical at first, the parking lot was completely bare and it looked like a small building from the outside. Once we got in there we met a elder gentleman who looked at us a little strange with all our city slicker clothes on, but other than that he was probably one of the nicest people I met, he took the time to show us different exhibits after a short while he decided to part ways because he had other customers coming in, upon exploring we learned many amazing things about Cowboy history and the old west, they had a whole section based on the different tribes of Native Americans as well as many others such as bull riding, the normal days on the frontier, and even a little bit about safety and had one of the largest selections of pulling wagons I ever seen it's definitely a great place to check out if you're out in Wyoming and have some free time.
Educational and loads of fun
Really interesting and so much information. Many things to see and a very large variety of subjects. Be sure to visit if you're in the area.
Enjoyed rodeo. Video
Super fun for the whole family. Great interactive for the kids.
Always such a fun experience!!!’
This is a place I would recommend to friends and family as the volunteer people at the front desk are always friendly and willing to give information on any thing cheyenne related.
Exhibits were very good.
It's a great place to visit, me and my wife had the best time ever, we will be coming back..
The people were nice and there was a pretty decent gift shop. By far thr best part was the collection of wagons.
AMAZING
Amazing wagon exhibit. Also a really informative history of the rodeo
Part of the tour, it was fun.
My parents loved it! They were visiting from CT and we stopped here for 30 minutes during the weekend trolley ride. I know my dad wishes we spent longer there! There are many interesting things to see inside and the gift shop is really nice.
Fun place to view old west history and the story of "Frontier Days" in Cheyenne. Great collection of coaches!
Great carriage and wagon exhibit. Also wonderful movie about Cheyenne Rodeo days. Well worth the time.
Good people and good show. Free tour.
All of this year's original art work is on display and for sale. Half to go each year and look.
Awesome place to learn about the history of riding and Wyoming's culture. Definitely recommend taking the trolly tour from the depot as it includes free admission into the museum!
Not super hands on, but has good multimedia exhibits. Cool place to learn about Cheyenne and frontier days.
This museum is a fantastic and huge compilation of old buggies, wagons, and other turn of the century vehicles. It was so informative and seeing old milk wagons, ambulances, hearses, etc. was great educational fun for us, since we love Americana stuff. The $10 entry price is why it gets knocked down one star. They need to make this a bit more affordable for the location and smaller size of the museum. Bonus is the kids room with toys and fun stuff to occupy kids for hours. It was a lifesaver for our toddler.
One of the largest collections of carages I've ever seen. Would have been nice to have window light subdued for photos.
A great museum filled with lots of history. Employees were very helpful and very knowledgeable about the history of Cheyenne days.
Best show in town. Great people
Great place to see CFD history. The carriage and wagon collection is unique and worth the time.
Lovely place. Fun and a lot of history. Just beautiful
Loved this place!!! Staff was very knowledgeable and nice to visit with. Enjoyed the time we spent there
Cute museum with amazing displays! Have to pay a small fee to actually walk around, but they had a little section on Paniolos (Hawaiian Cowboys) that I absolutely loved! Gift shop is a little pricey for my tastes, but has any Wyoming souvenir you could possibly want.
The night shows are great especially PBR
The employees are wonderful and always smiling. The artwork is gorgeous and I loved learning about the old west. Interesting stuff, and I really enjoyed seeing the wagons, carriages, and "cars." Clean bathroom as well. Well vented and air conditioned. The people take pride in the place and ensure keeping it safe and clean for people.
Well worth the time and the trip. Enjoyed it. Entertaining.
Very educational. Great for kids and adults.
We liked it!
Great place for family nice kids room
Had 30 minutes to explore, enjoyed every minute.
Museum filled with old carriages, rodeo history, and local artwork. Great way to spend part of your day in Cheyenne
Takes you back to another time
Omg...what a wonderful experience!
Newly updated....a great place to visit!
An awesome place, even if most of the exhibit consists of wagons and buggies.
Love, love, love! My kids enjoyed their section and wanted more. Plus the gift shop is awesome
Fun for an afternoon.
Lots of fun stuff to see and somewhat interactive.
We took family to see Cheyenne and had a great time learning more about what happen in the frontier days.
It was the best rodeo I've ever seen! It was awesome.
Nice little museum with a lot of historical artifacts and during CFD a great Art Show an Auction.
A must see in Cheyenne.
Fun place to visit!
Loved it so much!!! Very fun and informative. So family friendly
Local western history up-close; including many gorgeously restored horse-drawn vehicles and western art.
Really cool museum filled mostly with old horse drawn carriages. Really interesting to see all the different types and styles
Are you a big fan of Frontier Days? Then you will love it here! Never heard of Frontier Days, then this probably isn't the place for you.
The museum was amazing..I will definitely be coming back
Awesome museum a little small but still worth going to
this is a great venue. Plenty of options to enjoy quality old west and Cheyenne experience. I highly recommend visiting this part multiple times throughout the year not just for Frontier Days. Plenty to do there. I look forward to my annual visit and enjoy people watching here and being reintroduced into the old west Nostalgia and history
Kool place
Great displays. Covers history of Frontier Days through the years
This is a pretty good museum. They have lots of neat things here, like old safes, the old town hall sign from the 1800s and others. They also have tons and tons of carriages from a long time ago and lots of things on rodeos. The only reason I am giving it four stars and not five is that it wasn’t about the “old west” as much as it was about carriages and rodeos. There is nothing wrong with that but I was expecting something a little more about Old Western things. Overall it is a good museum and I would recommend it to people looking to learn or see things on rodeos.
Great place to visit staff was very helpful and friendly loved the piece on lane frost
It was awesome to learn about transportation history
Really fun just u cant do a bunch
Great place for Wyoming souvenirs.
Great stop
Good
The cariages are wonderful the place is nice and clean and the kid's Room is very awsome my kids had lots of fun.
Great place to learn some history. Extremely nice staff I took my 2 daughters for a daddy daughter date
Great exhibition to go back in time to Cheyenne’s Old Frontier Days.. the big daddy of them all. I know there is a cowgirls museum but they should have had more information about them especially in the museum representing Frontier Days, since there were quite a few that even were better ropers/riders than men (eg : Mable Strickland, Lucille Mulhall, Lorena Trickery, Bertha Kalpernik. They definitely deserved a section of that museum instead of a small tv monitor of a short video about them.
The Cheyenne frontier days museum is really impressive. It has one of the best collection of wagons and carriages of any museum we have been too. It gives a great glimpse into Western history. I was impressed with what they have done. If you haven't visited recently it's worth going back and seeing all the new displays and exhibits.
One of the best rodeos I have been in I am so thankful that I was able to ride.
Outragiously high prices. Carnival and midway is pathetic. Rodeo does a great job but again too expensive night shows are average expense.
All things rodeo! An excellent collection displayed beautifully. We enjoyed our afternoon there. I would absolutely recommend this museum.
Beautiful worth for visit
