It's very sacred to the native american people. The no specific tribe is able to hold credit for the wheel. So, the credit has been given to all native american tribes. Very cool. Feel the calmness in the air, the positive feeling in the air. The walk is definitely worth it. MUST SEE!

Didn't make it to see the medicine wheel because it was closed due to snow, but the drive there was spectacular. Ecstatic to go back and get to see it in the summer.

Judy Parliman

Incredible hike through wild flowers and snow fields to this site built about 10,000 years ago.

I live in Australia and have had this love for Native Indians for as long as I can remember, I had waited 60 years to get to go to American and I did last year, I went to Aspen Col, how it happened I don't know but I got to go to a private Ute blessing of a Peace Pole. I can not tell you what this meant to me as I met the Ute elder and we talked for some time, I felt like I was so blessed and so honoured I will never ever forget it. I am going back in May of next year and The Ute Elder is taking me to meet other Native people, I feel that I was meant to go when I did and I was meant to meet with the Ute Elder, he was so wise and so proud and so kind, I just feel so proud to have done this after so many years of waiting...... The Medicine Wheel will be one of the things that I will get to go to, I am so lucky.... thank you.

We have made this an annual ritual for five years. Amazing place, beautiful and spiritual. Easy to understand why it is revered by First People's.

Being Native American I wanted to see this place. I had heard of those of Native blood who had came there to visit, some powerful, some ordinary, like me. I did not realize nor did I imagine the spiritual presence that exists there. Being Native I was allowed to enter the wheel itself, inside the fence. I found myself over whelmed with the presence of The Great Spirit. I am a follower of Jesus and Yahweh. I am Keetoowah Ckerokee. But, very few times in church services have I felt His presence as strongly as I did at that moment. I found myself weeping, bowing before Him, and thanking Him. For, all that I have is from Him. As I write this, the memory of that moment floods over me and once again I experience Him. This is a powerful, powerful place. I have never felt His presence like this before. I was taught by my elders that we must live in this physical world but our Home is in the spiritual world. To any and all who read this I urge you to go there and give thanks to God, our Creator. I pray you will feel at Home.

This is truly an amazing place. Because of snow, it is reliably accessible only from about July 1-Sept 1, though dates may vary. It's an easy walk (about a mile) up from the parking lot which ism in turn, a mile or so up a steep gravel road. Sadly, many of the photos that show up when you do a google map search are of other medicine wheels, elsewhere. For example, the main image, of huge, complete, perfect stone circle on a green field is somewhere else, as is the picture with red rocks on the background. This medicine wheel is on a high, windy, bald knob off 14ALT between Lovell and Burgess Junction.

First, this is a religious and sacred place for Native Americans, I am thankful that they share such beautiful place. The hike to get to the top where the Medicine Wheel is 3 miles round trip and offer splendid views. Yellow bellied marmots, deer are seen regularly. Heard that there is an occasional moose. All cellphones must be silenced, and visitors must stay on the paths. The road to get there is a typical switch back road. There are restrooms at the trailhead. The rangers are kind and informative. The parking at the trailhead is for cars without trailers.

A place I had heard about since I was a child. The drive is amazing, the views are great, there is a 1.5 mile hike to the wheel (and again back), but it was worth it to see this place. I highly recommend the journey at least once in a life…these places are becoming lost…

A very strange place, kind of eerie. Made more so by the black crow circling above us! A threatening storm added to the strange feeling.

Great family hike but our dog didn't do well with the altitude. No water so bring lots.

While Wyoming is by far one of my favorite places on earth, the Bighorn Mountains hold a special place in my heart. The Medicine Wheel is on my 'Must See" list. The hike, (and yes it is a hike, there is a parking lot down below) is lovely, with numerous wildflowers and a multitude of pika. It is not open during the winter. Even in the summer there is usually a chill, so a jacket is advised, along with sensible footwear. If this is a one time trip to the area, I also recommend Shell Falls, which is at the other end of the National Forest.

It's inspirational, moving that generations of people have visited this reverent site to commune with nature and spirits, and it still continues today.

It's a place you must make a pilgrimage to at least once in your life. The magic is strong here. This is a very rare and wonderful place.

It is a overwhelming experience for anyone that practices Native American Spirituality whether your Native or not. I don't like to see some of the items that have been left as offerings there, only prayer tie's should be left.its a long way up but I know it's was worth it

Sandy Burris

Worth it!

Very amazing place to visit and experience! You truly are on top of the world up there and it is breathtaking. You can't drive all the way up to it and some hiking is required but it is well worth it! Can't wait to stop there again on my next visit!

DMH

A long hike uphill in both directions but definitely worth it. The view from the top is amazing. Manned daily by Park rangers. Etiquette is whisper quietly when viewing the ancient rock wheel. Very spiritual feel.

Steven Smith

Yes this is a Sacred site to All First Nations of this Turtle Island. Please be very respectful. If a ceremony in progress, Please, Absolutely NO pictures. Please be quiet and wait before you head up to the fence. You should be met by a ranger before getting to close, but if you're not, this is the etiquette. Thank you very much and enjoy. There is a lot of history here and a lot of wildlife to view. See if you can see the standing sisters that guard this Ancient place. If you become overwhelmed with emotion it is simply the ancestors, try to hear what they are telling you. Peace and Good health to you all. Tsau!

Shelly Biglen

Enjoyed the experience SO much, long walk up hill both ways !! The view was SO amazing -felt like we were on too of the world! Very much worth the trip if you're in the area. We also saw our first moose!

我们从拉佛尔了一个半小时到山顶停车场,然后又花了半小时步行到景点,看见几根木桩,还有绑的布条,没劲,什么震撼心灵,假大空,差评,不建议游玩!三颗星是因为此地没门票!

(Translated by Google) One of the holiest places of the northamerican natives. Almost their church, albeit under the open sky. The Medicine Wheel is a truly magical place high up in the Bighorn Moutains. I hope to be able to travel again soon .....
