REVIEWS OF Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory IN Wisconsin

Bob Flaherty

This is a unique and well tended conservatory. Three domes highlight three different habitats.

Jared Stuart

Fantastic place to visit if you are into horticulture.

Amanda Noeske

This was a fun day trip for our family. You can take a stroller but honestly walking through, even with smaller children, is easiest. There are three different environments to walk through with beautiful flowers, plants and some small birds. Cute little gift shop with interesting little gifts. Parking is easy and free.

Lori Bankson

Beautiful place and wonderful conservation message! It was an exciting vacation visit over Christmas break when the weather was terrible. The 3 areas themed as desert, tropical, and holiday gave us lessons and enjoyment. Beautiful displays, nice signage, and rare plants. We loved the treasure hunts, the great family photo opportunities, and had to visit the gift shop for a wonderful magnet souvenir. Delightful volunteers! Well done!

Teri Meacham

Anyone coming to the Milwaukee MUST experience this place. I have been going here since I was child with my parents, field trips with my school and now at 58 still enjoy going back when I visit WI. Very beautiful and interesting.

Jeremy Nalley

Beautiful. Warm place to walk around on a cold day. But Its not a big place

Joe Rozewicz

Nice set up big variety comfortable setting

Robert kussmann

Interesting place to explore and learn about various plants from different parts of the globe.

Kathleen Weiss

This place is gorgeous and peaceful! Escape the winter winds and pretend you are somewhere tropical underneath the three domes.

Theresa S

The domes are lovely. It's like taking a trip to the jungle or the desert. The third dome always has a nice special exhibit happening. Visited for the farmers market last Saturday. Great collection of vendors and wonderful food. Nice place to grab lunch! Parking is a pain though. The lot is too small for the increase of traffic on Saturdays

Sage

Amazing display gardens. Very zen atmosphere. So much to see and learn Perfect for rainy days, family field trips as well as Prom pics!

Coleen Miller

Awesome place. My kids and I loved it. The desert one by far was the best. We will be going again.

Jessica Elizabeth Owens

I love this place especially in the winter. Everything is really well maintained and the gift shop is quite cute and well stocked. Not the kind of place you can spend half a day, but it's nice to walk around for an hour or so!

Mike Montenegro

I love coming here and Mitchell park. Great place to stop and value the smell of flowers.

Alli Becker

As a stay at home mom, I love visiting the domes with my children. I am very disappointed that they no longer offer a 'free Monday' to Milwaukee County residents. I was surprised today when I arrived and realized I would now have to pay $7 to enter. When working with a budget, I will have to take the domes odd of my list of fun places to visit.

Dani Marie

It's beautiful and reasonably priced for the small escape you get in the city. The Tropical dome and Desert Dome were open today, I always recommend calling ahead to see what's going on that day. It was a blissful couple hours away from the snow & cold inside warm, green, tree, plant, really oxygen rich nature packed insides.

Kenneth Onken

Beautiful place to visit. Praise God for His creations!

J

3 distinct domes give you an insight into desert, tropical, and show biospheres. Self guided tours to experience at your own pace. Price seemed a little steep at $8 for out-of-towners but oh well. Nice stop if into Flora.

Jillian Gray

I love going to gardens and places like this when I am on vacation in the city. It gives me the chance to do something active aside from eating! This place is really cool, there is a tropical dome, a desert dome and a "show" dome. The show dome was most disappointing. It was just like a well maintained walking trail at a park with summer fish and pirate decor put up along with whatever plants were at the nursery. There were a few that looked like coral...that was unique. The desert and tropical ones were very cool and th hey told a lot of info and names of the plants and where they were found. The thing I didn't like is it didn't have a Milwaukee vibe to any part of the place. If you have an hour or so to kill, doing it here for $8 is worth it, I wouldn't go too far out of my way to return.

Terri Serjern

Beautiful place! Cheap to get in and fun to walk through. It doesn't take long to get through it but it's definitely worth the trip. Lots of great photo opportunities. There's a show room, a rainforest area, and a desert area.

Bookie Johnson

It was really fun and allot of plants and flowers and I like the fish in the water and I love the water fall and giftshop and allot of stuff you should see for yourself you'll see what I,m talking about. And it free every first Thursday of every month.

Andy Fallon

Fun place to check out with friends and family and walk around and see all the items on display. This is not free, pricing is friendly.

Mitchell VanZant

We really enjoyed this place. It is super budget friendly and great way to spend a morning or afternoon if you're not looking for an all day activity.

Debra Sommerfeld

I haven't been to the domes in years. Did not disappoint. The multi sized train show was on. The place was overrun by unruly children running, screaming and unwatched by their parents despite signs stating "Parents are responsible for their children's safety and behavior". Think I'll go midweek to enjoy the beautiful fauna and foliage.

Roshawn Banks

Even as a child we always went to the domes. Glad to see all three still standing and still beautiful! We had a family gathering in the back at their private indoor pavilion, spacious, bathrooms, basketball court and scenery.

Teri M.

Love, love, love the domes! I get there about once a year but not always the same time of the year. This time I saw a new show dome I'm have never seen before . It was an under the sea theme. Fun for something new.

jake barr

A fantastic must see experience!

sarah shay

Amazing space! This midcentury modern building is stunning. There are three unique climates to explore and the plant life is varied and interesting. It's an absolute must-see in Milwaukee.

Yorgo Latimer

Love the domes. Went shortly after they opened on Mother's Day before it got crowded. Fantastic variety of plants on display. Tropical dome, desert dome and seasonal dome all offer something different to enjoy. WE were able to get some lovely family pictures in the "spring" dome. Nice benchs to relax along the way. My grandson really likes the coi pond and waterfall. We have visited once before in winter, when it was decorated for Christmas which made for some great pictures. Great in winter when you are craving foliage and warm temperatures!!

Dave Bishop

Super fun and interesting place to visit. The different types of plants are amazing to look at. The flowers and bizarreness of them all is really something. Take your kids there, they will love it! May need to come here all winter if it gets too bad outside. I kind of want a dome in my yard now!! LOL

steve strzyzewski

Domes have been a fixture of Milwaukee for decades,... but have begun to show there she a bit.. Nonetheless for children and adults they offer an ever changing seasonal display of horticultural wonders in 1 dome the other 2 are dedicated to arid landscape plants and the tropical Flora. Everyone has a favorite..

Eddie Coolcat

I always enjoy walking through the Horticulture Center and the other activities they always have at that facility. Been going there since my daughter was little now she's 24 and I met her there yesterday. It was a pleasant experience. And the other events that was happening vendors showing their products off including beer sampling and t-shirts sales. The t-shirts we're really cool they were from the alien connection haha with excellent craftsmanship. A very pleasant experience

Lindsay Sondelski

Very neat place to explore different climates. Great family experience!

Adhira Sunkara

Our 2 year old spent almost 3 hours there... Most places we visit usually only keep him entertained for about an hour. If that doesn't deserve a 5 star rating, nothing does! Great place to get over the winter blues.

Emily

The staff was very kind, friendly and out going. We spent several hours walking through each of the 3 domes. A lot of beautiful photo were taken. For the price I will definitely go again.

Chase Mulhall

It's like flying to Florida in one dome, Arizona in the another. My first time here and it's a nice walk around to enjoy the varieties of unique Flora. A great place to refresh from the cold dry winter as the tropical dome is hot and humid.

Giselbert Parkhurst

Boring is the first word that comes to mind when I think of Wisconsin but Mitchell Park Conservatory is far from boring. I'm so glad we decided to drive here from Chicago to visit the three domes. Admission is $8 per adult and $6 for students or those 17 and under so be sure to bring your student id or id of some sort!

James Huycke

The "domes" as they are known in the Cream City are an iconic experience of temperate, tropical and desert climates. A very reasonable admission price provides a couple hours of casual strolling through these three exhibits. The holiday displays in the temperate dome are particularly spectacular. You can't really say that you saw Milwaukee without a stop here.

Joshua Rohrsen

My wife and I enjoyed our time at Mitchell Park. I do wish they would have incorporated many more of the scientific names, especially with the orchid collection. The frogs were pretty cool.

Noah MacMurchy

The info/ticket booth customer service was awesome! Very courteous and the guy took the time to answer any questions. The rest of the area was beautiful, well taken care of, all plants/trees labeled, and easy to navigate (each dome has a map). Would gladly come back here.

Jeremy John

One of my favorite places to visit in Milwaukee, or anywhere for that matter. Especially nice to visit in the winter to stave away the winter blues. It can truly raise your spirits. I love this place!

Dawn Sherwood

Beautiful. We were blessed attend an event at night here. We got to see the domes lit up at night. The 3 very different domes were each exquisite in their own way. Definitely a place to see again!

Sally Washick

The renovations are seamless. The Show Dome was Winnie the Pooh theme at our work event at night. I need to go back during daylight to see the colors of all the flowers.

Farley

A great place to go on a rainy day. The cover charge is very affordable. All the domes are incredible, there are so many interesting plants! This is a good place to get some nice photos taken with your family. A must see!

tom kneipper

It's small but a must see. Very cool looking plants. The parking lot is very close and nearby.

Karaline Naegele

It was a neat walk through different types of climates. One dome has a theme that changes, the other two remain the same. There is consistently a desert themed dome and a tropical theme. The tropical done was my favorite with all the bright flowers. The price for an adult resident of Milwaukee was $8, but the first Thursday of every month residents can attend for free.

Nick Thierer

Lovely space to enjoy some amazing plants and environments! 3 distinctly different domes with a variety of plant life and some animals! The desert dome is a great place to visit in the winter! Very fun and educational place to visit! One of the domes is being decorated for Christmas season! Would definitely recommend! Free on Monday's I believe, otherwise $7!

Jason Gordon

Such a great place to bring kids when it is 2° outside! $16 for 2 adults... Free under 5 years. Trains are a bonus in January. Busy on weekend but worth the wait at ticket window. Tip: Have kids go right in and warm up if there is a line to buy tickets

Rose Robinson

Very beautiful gardens. Well taken care of. Great place to spend a winter day. Doesn't take to long to get through, but well worth it.

Mandy Alvarez-Figueroa

Smaller then I expected, the tropical dome was the best, very big and lots of interesting plants. Was upset there was no one in the educational center. The kids just roamed around and looked at the stuff was there.

Cherie Siegmann

First time I have been here in over 20 years, still a beautiful icon of milwaukee that needs to continue!! Lets do what we can to keep it!! Great place to teach kids about plants!

Cara Arrowood

Absolutely awesome! The domes far exceeded our expectations. We decided to pop in on a whim and ended up spending 2+ hours there. The staff was very friendly, the botanical domes were fantastic. Who would’ve thought you could see banana trees in Wisconsin... in March!! Very clean, super beautiful, was like going in to a different world in each dome! I highly recommend and would go again, soon!

Michelle Kuc

Perfect location for plant and photography lovers! (or both, of course!) The surrounding area is incredible too. Awesome place to have a picnic, or take a stroll, and follow it with learning about, or just checking out, some beautiful plants! Though I had a great experience and would probably return once more in the future, I was a bit overwhelmed, which explains the four stars, instead of five. I was expecting a bit more of The Domes, and found that my stay was much shorter than I had anticipated. I wish there was more to explore, however, it was definitely trip (from Chicago) I don't regret, and would definitely recommend to check out at least once this summer!

Volha Siarheichyk

Peaceful place with lots of beautiful plants! The gift shop was nice and the ladies at the counter were really friendly.

Pegasus Mary

Very nice. It's like stepping into a faraway land. A must see for any horticultural enthusiast.

Dana Davidson

An amazing conservatory that will forever be one of my favorites. The domes are quirky and beautiful. I would love to visit this place anytime that they change the "guest exhibit dome". The grounds are also beautiful and a fun little trail is located at the back of the property.

Booboo Kitty

Relaxing place to just bum around. Rates are so decent you could bring the whole family.

Alexis Briesemeister

The Domes continues to be a fun place to visit. It's a great place to bring kids or to enjoy as an adult. They even started selling adult beverages at the entrance.

Rachel Powlen

We have a family membership and always enjoy checking out the show door. Very cute gift shop!

Gina Bunger

Very well manicured gardens.

Alan Wagner

A nice grouping of exhibitions. The Tropical dome was the family favorite. When it's cold outside, the Domes always give a nice break. Good for little kids as well as young adults.

Henry Cossitt

Really nice place. Very reasonable admission price.

Anastasia Schmidt

The Domes are fantastic! What a gem, especially in the gray winter months. The tropical dome has waterfalls, singing birds, flowers and fruit, and of course green in every shape, size and hue! The desert dome is so peaceful, astounding visitors with the variety of cacti and succulents God has made. The show dome usually has a very creative arrangement of flowers and plants to delight the eyes and nose. A highlight of Milwaukee.

Ada Hanson

Love the domes. Went shortly after they opened on Mother's Day before it got crowded. Fantastic variety of plants on display. Tropical dome, desert dome and seasonal dome all offer something different to enjoy. WE were able to get some lovely family pictures in the "spring" dome. Nice benchs to relax along the way. My grandson really likes the coi pond and waterfall. We have visited once before in winter, when it was decorated for Christmas which made for some great pictures. Great in winter when you are craving foliage and warm temperatures!!

Debra Gade

It was beautiful. We learned many new things about plants and trees.

Corrine D'Amato

We have the family annual pass. It is nice to just go there for an hour and see some beautiful greenery and colors, especially during the winter months. The show dome is always amazing. My 7 year old loves going there, especially when the dinosaurs are there!

Jenny Johnson

It's like taking a trip around the world. 3 spacious domes filled with a crazy variety of plants. There are signs giving additional info about certain species/regions. When I went, there was a rainforest dome, desert dome, and the rotating dome was Hundred Acre Winnie the Pooh themed. Give yourself at least an hour to see it all.

Lynette Farrand

Lovely & well kept. Interesting & entertaining. Look closely for live animals in the exhibits. Cute gift shop with reasonable prices & live plants to purchase.

Richard Seidemann

The Domes as they are referred to locally are always beautiful. Three separate Domes. One is desert and displays plants typical of desert regions around the world. Second dome displays tropical plants from around the world. Both are well laid out and maintained. The third dome is the display dome. This changes throughout the year. Currently they have garden Gauge trains that run through out the dome. It is themed as Milwaukee this year with scenery depicting the many communities and neighborhoods of Milwaukee. This is accented with many azaleas and other flowers.

Joane Newman

Very nice park. Small enough to enjoy in an hour or more. Beautiful flowers!

Dianna Moua

It's a nice little conservatory to view different environments. It's clean and well-kept. It's a nice place for families to visit. There's a nice variety of plants but the walkway can be a bit steep in some areas. There's also a section with a model train that runs through a small town. It's very charming.

Lisa Schultz

This was a fantastic place to take pictures and spend a peaceful afternoon.

Quang Huy Truong

Impressive greenhouse exhibition. Well designed and cared. Fair price for a 2-3 hours stroll through pleasant landscapes and learn something new about botany. Love the succulents. The tropical exhibition is not very impressive, but I come from a tropical country so there’s for sure a bias. One star less for the policy of the membership. We were considering having a family membership for future return but the same day admission could not count toward membership fee, a very common practice nowadays.

Patricia Michna

Yes I was in Milwaukee for a family graduating from the university of Wisconsin Milwaukee. Our family members decided to travel for our niece graduation from college. We had a wonderful time stayed in an air bob in Milwaukee and that too was so fun to all be together in one place. We are, we laughed,we made our way to the graduation even though it rained, it was an awesome time, we were so very proud of our ability to get to do this, for our brother as well as our niece. we visited this location while we were there and I was very impressed because it was beautifully done as well as maintained that takes a lot of work, what a joy to get to see such beauty.

Robert S

Beautiful and relaxing environment especially when it's a little cold out still. Worth checking out and their plant selection in their giftshop was wonderful. They had loads of more common plants like succulents and bonsais and some exquisite more rare orchad breeds available really wanted to buy one but were relocating to the town so it wouldn't be healthy for the plant.

Freyja Newleaf

We got a membership card here because we've wanted to visit so many more times. My fiancé and I love to go here. It is an absolutely amazing place for a walk, a moment to relax, a date, a day out, you name it. Nothing speaks to us more than the beauty of growing things.

Karin Markert

I love this place. Could visit every day. What an amazing collection of plants!

Claudette Jones

Love plants would like to see more.

Dustin Clausen

This place is as amazing now as it was when I was a s small child. I got to bring my dad back to visit the Domes, and even in a wheelchair, he had a great time and was able to explore fully. I really hope this place is renovated and kept in trust for future generations to enjoy as I have been able to my entire life.

Elsy Rodriguez

Love it!! The domes are so cool!! Great place for a family outing.

Breanna Spinn

I love having a place to escape the winter and feel like I'm outside somewhere warm. They have wonderful displays and events both surrounding plants, and also other random things like model train shows which look super cool around the foliage. They also host things like farmers markets in the winter in a separate room which is a great resource. This amazing place adds a lot to the community.

Kelly Doris

Came here for a wedding reception. It was beautiful. I would highly recommend anyone to visit. Children under 5 might not find it as fun, however my older child enjoyed it. So many great photo opportunities, too.

Dan Collins

Nice gardens, laid-back place for a soul-refreshing stroll. Hope the city finds way to retain.

Troy Miller

Looking forward to seeing it again.lot of plants

Scott Hartman

Our first time to the domes, we had a great time! The signage is interesting, visiting all three domes was a nice hour and a half visit, and the staff were all friendly. We will be back!

Cecily Thomas

Cool plants! The under the sea display is definitely worth checking out! Beautiful!

Charlene Constantino

This place is beautiful! Picturesque! And cheap to go in too. If you love nature, this is a must see. And it's up to you if you want to just have a quick visit or spend a few hours here. There's lots of information to read and overall just a nice place to relax at. It can get tiring though, so bring some change for the vending machines there (not sure if you can bring in food). Just a beautiful and interesting place to see.

Kristine Carlson

This was a fun stop. I would recommend a visit if you have never been here. The price is reasonable and parking is free.

Amanda Rodgers

Everything was clean and plants were mostly well marked. They had the trains in the show dome and it was seriously magical watching them and looking at the little buildings and plants. It was really nice to be able to see lots of green plants and flowers in the dead of winter.

Mallory Sullivan

We spent about one hour here, about 20 minutes in each dome. I liked the self-guided tour brochures they offer! I liked the tropical and dessert dome the most, and felt like the seasonal/show dome had the least to offer. Another great feature is that you can buy a glass of wine or beer to walk around with. Additionally, they offer coat racks where you can leave your coat (the tropical dome is warm and humid!).

Laura Benevelli

The Domes are beautiful. They have a nice selection of plants. It's relatively small but it's worth visiting.

Valencia Laws

I was very impressed with the improvement I saw at the domes regarding childrens' activities. There were coloring pages, crayons, puzzles, hands on nature artifacts, and other cool things in the "kids zone" that my son and daughter (4years and 6months) enjoyed very much. Good job, domes!!!

Rodney Jackson

They save the best flower and plants in the world for you to see. This museum of plants and flower is educational.

Harris Connell

After a recent visit I couldn't be more pleased! This place is definitely a hidden gem of Milwaukee! When I visited only the tropical and the desert dome were open. At first I was bummed about this but I ended up being more than content with just two domes open! In terms of what there is to see both domes were in tip top shape! I was amazed to see such a variety of plants here! I went on a weekday afternoon and I was pleasantly surprised to see quite a few other people there as well! In terms of the plants on display this place is amazing but in terms of facilities it could be improved slightly. If I understand correctly the domes are over 50 years old and could use some renovations. This is completely understandable particularly because this is county operated. I would really like to see some renovations in the future but as for now, I'll be back.

Rebecca Elliott

It was really cool and fun I went with my family

AJ Dreyer

Great place to go if you're looking for something to do in the Milwaukee area! Large variety of plants with signs displaying the names and other interesting information. A discount is given to students, which was a nice bonus!

Jim Hoffman

A terrific, if dated conservatory featuring a tropical dome, a desert dome, and a show dome that changes throughout the year. It's a small place, with a tiny gift shop and no food service. But it's an iconic place and part of Milwaukee history. The entranceway and ticket booth are very small and unable to move guests quickly, so be prepared to wait in line outdoors on busy days.

Mohammed Shaikh

Great place to take the inquisite mind out. This place is fun for the entirely family. Plenty of parking spaces available and is free.

Michael Boblin

Great way to spend a day, rain or shine. Friendly, informative staff, good value for the price. Weekly summer concerts in the show dome are not to be missed!

John Lester

Really cool place with lots to see. Enjoyed the different regions of plant life and they even have a few creatures roaming around (frogs, birds)

Sherry Ottery

Beautiful place to see. Desert Dome, Tropical Dome and Show Dome. Reasonably priced to get in.

Kelly Harrold

Very nice. A bit small, but seemed kept. The placement of all the fake cartoon fish in the show room were a bit weird and childish, but overall it was pretty.

Brittany R

Such a cool place to visit. It's like traveling all over the world and experiencing different climates all in one area

Jennifer Macklin

I felt as if I were actually in a rainforest and a desert. The only thing missing was the birdsong and the animals. It was amazing to see the many varieties of colorful plants that had been collected and carefully tended. The desert dome was just as delightful because I'd no idea that there were so many different kinds of vegetation that grew in that type of atmosphere. It truly was an enjoyable afternoon wandering around the domes.

bubba kahuna

Have loved visiting the Domes since I was a child. Sad to see them deteriorating and possibly being demolished! I Highly recommend you visiting before they are removed. You will never experience anything close to the 3 completely unique areas of these domes.

vijay chowgule

A microcosm of the world's flora can be found here including the feel of weather.

Patrick Villacorta

Inexpensive attraction with an interesting collection of desert and tropical plants plus a small amount of animals well. One of the domes changes their displays so you could have a new experience every season.Be prepared for the Tropical dome, it's very hot and humid. Kids can do the scavenger hunt to keep engaged. Parking is free.

Ольга Демидова

The conservatory isn’t that large, but the variety of plants is impressive. Very friendly staff. Not the most interesting conservatory I’ve been to (my favorite is in Montreal), but quite good. The entrance ticket for adults is $8, for Wisconsin residents - $7. The park around the conservatory is nice.

Jennifer Hagen

This was fun! Warmest place in Milwaukee in the winter. A little pricey but a very unique place. It's a must see.

Tann Jon

You can easily blow through this in no time flat. However, for those who walk through and get all giddy about amazing alien plants, this place could fill up a few good hours. Worth the admission price for sure

M Hirose

Year round joy in the domes! Especially shines during the gorgeous seasonal displays! Beautiful place.

Joshua Fleming

The Domes are a Milwaukee landmark and a must-visit. There are three domes; one tropical, one desert, and one show done with rotating themes. Admission is inexpensive, and it is a great way to get lost in another world for a bit. Plus, there is a koi pond and the fish are pretty cute.

Mike P

I love all the plants. Though I wonder with all the glass of the domes of they are truly Green?

Dave Becker

What a great breath of air on on an icy winter day. The jungle dome is humid and lovely and you'll want to ditch your coats on to one of the coat racks. It usually takes us maybe 90 minutes to get through everything if we move slow and take pictures. The jungle dome has a waterfall and there's always a crowd of selfie-takers and fish observers lingering on the bridge, but it's a little Paradise in there and people seem to respect the plants. The fruit they grow gets fed to monkeys at the Milwaukee Public Zoo. The kids always enjoy the train theme in the third dome. Sometimes there are different themes in there.

Marg Chauvin

First you see the three domes that house exhibits, these are impressive. Then you encounter the human sundial before entering the buildings. Already the educational experience has begun. Inside, each dome takes you to a different environment with a multitude of plants and a few unexpected animals. The tropics and desert domes each provide a feeling of the exotic including the temperature and humidity. Both are beautiful, educational, and offer an escape to another environment. To me, the Display dome can't compete with the other two, although showy and fun with plantings of various color coordinated flowers and shrubs it lacks an exotic atmosphere. But this may not be the case in mid-winter. It's well worth a visit to this plant zoo.

Peter Schrenk

Beautiful indoor gardens. Very accessible for those with disabilities. The Desert dome and the Rainforest dome were very nice. I thought the Show Garden dome was a bit cheesy with the simulated shipwreck and blue dye in the water. The grounds outside were not kept up very well around the parking lot.

Dawn Wenszell

Good family activity no matter the age range. Or a good place just to walk and talk with friends.

Evelyn Champion

A lovely place to visit. Takes about an hour to go through all three domes. The tropical Dome is extremely hot. The building is lovely and took me right back in time to the 60s and 70s, even the smell. I would suggest visiting tropical first, then desert, then show. That's a counterclockwise progression where you will save the fanciest room for last!

Benjamin Ratterman

Great experience! The variety of plants within each of the domes is massive and you can really explore these environments well. The show dome has such a nice atmosphere to it and a tiny train city as well! If you are interested in plants or want to take someone somewhere nice, definitely add this as an option.

Ninten Nol

It was great. Saw some awesome custom cars, people celebrating their Independence, and having to some sweet tunes. I was just there to chill but ended up chilling and getting to see all these people enjoying their life

Gina R

Can't beat this for $8 if you are into plants, or just want a nice place to catch up with an old friend.

Chris Smyczek

Planned on spending under an hour here but ended up almost an hour in each of the two open domes, what a great experience! There was so much to see and the displays are so well done. Visiting the domes is like a vacation, not just because of the climate but with all of the unique flora that you do not see in Wisconsin. Highly recommend for anyone, there are surprises behind every door!

Bill Bigus

A wonderful place to visit. Zen gardens in the Show some is especially nice!

Bradley Giordano

The conservatory was a marvel sitting inconspicuously just outside Milwaukee. The domes look as if from another world and inside, it really is like stepping to another part of the globe. Each was unique, sporting flowers and trains while walking through a casual garden, eccentric dessert plants while traversing the driest places on Earth, and wild jungle oddities while exploring the depths of the rainforest. It is definitely a must-see when visiting the area.

Tim Tt

3 domes, rare plants, nice seasonal farmers market. Very nice place to be a member of.

Janet Stratton

Fantastic and educational experience to see plants. It's like you are pulled into this other world where plants rule. Domes are worth the price of admission.

Lilli Davis

Very interesting gardens with well-marked specimens. A nice place to visit for an hour or so.

Ascis Fletch

The plants were displayed so beautifully.

Ryan Jurgens

Took my wife for her very first visit ti the Domes. Such a beautiful trip. She loved it.

Keldron WAtson

The grounds we're nice especially some of the out door plants.

D Town

We went for the winter farmers market. There were a good variety of items. Vegetable, baked goods, frozen meats, oils & soaps and much more. The last weekend is end of March. Try to stop out there.

Gaby Rivera

Very lovely place! Did a great job at simulating the different biomes! They have a desert, a tropical rainforest. and the show room which is your typical garden type vegetation. A great place for people of all ages!

Henry Aguilar

Very nice place with different ecosystems in Milwaukee, perfect to warm up with nature around

tinamarie aljazzar

Love all the different types of plants and exhibition

Devan Trueba

Love the architecture but was a little disappointed by the plants. There weren’t many rare or interesting plants and a lot of them looked sad. It was still nice to walk through but the entrance price should be more like $2 rather than $8.

Denise Fetting

I love the domes, especially when I long for nice weather and can't wait for Spring to come. The domes make me feel like I'm somewhere, far away from here. Beautiful flowers, plants and trees.

Bethany Malinka

This is our favorite place to enjoy a nice outing with our kids and let them burn energy in a safe, uplifting environment! We love the Domes!! The Show Dome is always designed so creatively and never disappoints!

Anthony DeVito

This place is classic, iconic Milwaukee and a must-visit for tourists and locals alike. The three different dimes offer three different, very unique experiences and interesting displays and facts about plants. The Domes are best to visit in the dead of winter, as the desert and tropical domes will make you feel like you’re closer to the equator.

Adoss Doss

Such a wonderful place to see plants from all over the world.

Such a nice place! Plenty of parking and relatively inexpensive. If you haven't been to the domes, definitely make it a priority!

Support a true gem of Milwaukee! Perfect for a quick, cheap family day trip. The Domes never disappoint!

Timmeh P

Very cool, each dome has a different environments, animals and plants!

Wanda Welch

Miniature train display and light show. Very educational, beautiful and restful there.

What an amazing experience! The domes themselves are works of art but the plants inside are the real stars. Divided into two sections, tropical and desert, the organization is laid out by regions and is a wonderful way to learn more about horticulture.

Great interesting place for all the family. Great staff.

Long stretch of land! Great for walks with the kiddo and pets. There is a basketball court and tennis court in the back. I only wish the little lake area was guarded somehow so my 2 year old would not be tempted to swim and I wish there was a playground area. Had fun either way- smart parenting today

Amazing! This place is great for people of all ages. Each dome is true to its themes and delivers a great experience of the climates. Show room was interesting. I am excited to see what themes they will have next apart from the trains. A thought that would be nice is if they have an area outside the domes that serve fruits or edibles that would be found in the desert or tropics.

Nora Duginski

A beautiful place to enjoy the nature, learn different plants across the country and world. They offer some activities for kids, relaxation guaranteed. Pictures, videos turn excellent if you want to take some.

Simply WOW. This was probably the best conservatory I have ever been to. I really enjoyed spending my time looking at different flowers and trees. It was hard to decide between tropical and desert conditions. Both were genuine, and definitely better then weather in Chicago. The drive was really worth it. I recommend this place to anyone. Kids seemed to enjoy it as well, especially the show garden.

Great time, haven't been there in a while!!!

Sherri

We brought some friends from Florida here. We've been here lots of times and always find the different climates with the different plants very interesting and they thought it was great.

Kathryn Welden

A lovely way to escape the cold! Beautiful plants, cool architecture. Took us about an hour to walk through all 3 Domes but you could take longer if you felt like it. I wish there was a bit more engaging stuff for the younger kids who can’t read. The train and miniatures were really cool! Lovely gifts in the gift shop as well.

Johnny Herr

A great place to take family or friends. Cool experience to see plants in different climates and regions.

Eric Jahnke

A must see while visiting Milwaukee,it's a beautiful place in its own right!

Amy Cox

Disappointed that only 2 domes were open. The exhibits are, as always, beautiful!

KT Nelson

I always have a fun time coming here. It's especially nice to escape from winter for a little bit. They have 3 domes; the desert and jungle ones are always about the same and the showroom changes seasonally to another theme. There's birds in the domes so if you're afraid of birds, have caution, but I think they're cool. Gift shop has neat plants for sale and at a good price.

Tania Huycke-Phillips

Entry fee wasn't bad and the place was beautiful. While it was cold and snowy outside, it was warm and cozy inside. I loved massive variety of plants - some I recognized and many I didn't - in each themed dome. One of the staff even pointed out a poison dart frog (not poisonous) to us.

Natalie P

This place is very interesting to visit and is a definitely Milwaukee must see. I think leisurely walking through all three points took a smidge over an hour. There was free parking and knowledgeable and friendly staff. Keep your eyes peeled as there are signs in the tropical dome for real fruit! They even had some plants to gently touch on some entrances. The show dome was so peaceful and fun to sit and enjoy all the trains riding around. Thank you for a great experience!
