REVIEWS OF Milwaukee County Zoo IN Wisconsin

Dylan Kocinski

Great price for a whole year. A lot of space to walk around and spend the day. Really enjoy taking the kids here as a good way to get out of the house for free (for the day, still need a zoo pass).

Carolyn Elizabeth

I always love going to the zoo. The Milwaukee County zoo was the first in the nation to try to exhibit the animals in their natural habitats. There is lots of green space, and while it is definitely a favorite outing for families and school field trips, it's not just for kids. As an adult with no children, I love walking the grounds, seeing the animals, and reading the fun facts boards. The train is always a must for me to ride, and yes, adults do fit inside the cars. The zoo is a fun place to go no matter what your age.

CB IV

Absolutely love this place! We had taken our kids to local Chicago zoo's and while they were okay the Milwaukee zoo is so much better. The price point is really great and they have so many activities for the kids. We come once or twice a year and it is our go to zoo from now on.

Tish Morris

Such a nice zoo. Animals seem to be well cared for. Staff and volunteers are super knowledgeable. I fed a freaking giraffe!!! Support your local zoo we can learn tons and help 1,000s of animals!

Raven Jaxsnerdymommy

The zoo has had better days, I think they are doing a lot construction to update it. Nevertheless, it is still a great place to take your little ones. I recommend to get a Zoo Pass because the admission is pretty expensive and the pass will pay for itself after a couple of visits.

Ron Hoagland

First time here. Took our granddaughter from New York. We have been to many zoos but this one was a bit disappointing. It must have been a bad day because at least half the animals were missing. A lot looked stressed. For what we paid to get in and the cost for any extra activity the animals should be pampered. The ST. Louis zoo is free and is a much higher quality. We will probably go to the Shed or the Madison zoo before we go back. We will give them another visit just in case it was a bad day. I hope it was.

Amanda Phillips

It was a very good way for us to spend our day. It is a little pricey, not everything is included and there is a parking cost. But pretty clean and lots to see. Plenty of shaded areas and several indoor viewing areas. Kids enjoyed themselves a lot.

Angela C

My family goes to the zoo all the time! We went so many times and the zoo pass would’ve been so worth it. I love the discount days and themes. There’s ample places to buy food or bring a pack lunch with you, there’s plenty of places to sit and relax. My kids love the playground and petting zoo. Just wish the souvenir cup refill places would be better advertised.

Justine Filapek

Milwaukee is spoiled to have such a fabulous zoo right here in our backyard. I highly recommend spending a day if you've never been, or going back if it's been awhile. The staff is always there for the animals, making sure their care and safety come first, while still allowing awesome views and even interactions in many cases. Special exhibits and regular updates make each visit a new experience. My favorites have always, and will always, be the penguin habitat. So fun to watch them play.

Karen W

I love going to the any zoo. Just a all around nice place. I would of gave it 5 stars. But I think if you are not going to have air conditioning. In the building. Then put fans in. I found 1 fan by the bat's. But there was a lot of people. With the same plan as I had. The zoo was very clean. Very well organized.

Santana Kirby

It's the zoo! I had a great time with my daughter. Everything is ridiculously expensive; $5 for a 12oz Gatorade

Anna Clute

Love this zoo! Less crowded than most and it feels more like you are walking through a forest preserve than a zoo, the flow of the zoo is great! Great family farm section with a large and great playground for the kids to interact and get some energy out.

Jake Blade

What a wonderful place! Take the time to see everything. This place is awesome!!!

Kyle M

We have been members of this zoo since 2007. We enjoy it every time we go. We live in the Chicago land area but it is defiantly worth the extra drive. The animals seam to be taken care of better, and the grounds are always immaculate. You can bring your own food in to save money, however the concessions are not terribly priced like other zoos. It is fun for all ages there, we often go with my 82 year old dad as well as my 14, 11, and 2 year old children and everybody loves it

Emily Anderson

We were in Milwaukee for a couple of concerts and we had time to kill during the day so we decided on the zoo. Great decision! Like all zoos that have been around awhile they had some enclosures that seemed a bit small but you could tell they were making updates and the animals seemed happy and engaged. I loved seeing the Amur Tiger playing in the water and the Red Pandas were fun to watch. This was the first zoo that I recall seeing a Bonobo. Milwaukee County is lucky to have such a great zoo and I'll be making a trip back so I can bring my kids for sure.

Jennifer Henry

Gotta love the zoo! So many activities for kids, the exhibits, and food and beverage options are great. Perfect way to spend the day!

Matthew Vollkommer

My son had a great time at the train class today! It also included a train ride which he loved!

KITONGA ALEXANDER

I love the zoo! I wish that they were more creative with their a la carte days however. They could add some vendors that have exotic options that arent abundantly available outside of this event and make a few more interactive environments related to the food options available. This would upgrade the event extremely.

Cassie Plantz

Great place for little ones. One of the workers in the fish and reptiles area was very educated! I loved that she came up and went out of her way to explain some of the animals to us! Thank you! They need more ladies or people like her there working! :) loved the conversation compared to just reading a bored

Thor Gran

I love our zoo. As the last vestiges of the sad old animal interment facility are getting ready to be torn down, I am absolutely filled with joy. It's so nice to see all the wonderful new habitats, the care being taken to keep the animals happy, the optimism and plans for a bright future. Our Zoo just gets better and better all the time.

Angi Scudder

We were there off season so some of the animals were not out and vendors were not open but it was still a great zoo and the staff and volunteers were well educated on the animals and super friendly. The animals all had clean cages and plenty of food and it was obvious that they were well cared for and content. Great place for families and if we make it back to Wisconsin, we will make sure to visit.

James Halm

Fantastic Zoo, I really love the new facilities for the elephants! Spent four hours wandering around with my kids and there is still so much amazing stuff we have yet to see! Next time!

Teresa Young

For a Thursday afternoon in October, it was a nice time. There were some animals that weren’t around because of how late in the season it was. It was fun to see the Halloween decorations though and get a Halloween Mold-a-Rama. And what a surprise it was for me to see flamingos in Wisconsin!

Ezequiel Rodriguez

I love the zoo! They have so much. They are always building new exhibits. It's a great place to go by yourself, or in a group. Their are plenty of benches to sit down and take a break. Plenty of clean and stocked up bathrooms. A few restaurants and plenty of areas to eat. They got pony rides, train rides and entertainment shows. You can rent a child stroller, not sure about a wheelchair. They got a playground, feed the goats. It's the best place in Milwaukee for fun!

Edward X

It's a pretty decent zoo. I haven't been to the zoo since I was a teen. It's been improved in several ways but it seemed to me that there seemed to be less animals than when I last remembered. Still, the train rides and other activities should be interesting enough to have things to do while one is visiting.

Peter Leach

Other than it being 90 degrees today the park was wonderful. Since it was weekday there weren't any crowds so we could enjoy it at our own pace. So it was a very nice outing.

Kelli Hamilton

What an amazing zoo! We had a fantastic time. This zoo is one of the best I’ve ever been to. I highly recommend the sea lion show. My daughter and her friend loved feeding the sea lion.

Robert Martin

We had a great time. There are plenty of booths with food and drink but you can also bring you own. We brought a travel wagon with a drink cooler.

Jim Davidson

Expensive, but they had an excellent variety of animals. Kids had a blast seeing God's creativity. They also had several very young animals throughout the zoo. Much to enjoy.

Yvonne •

This place is so much fun to go with the family! The staff is very helpful and generous when it came to me asking for some info. Very friendly positive employees walking around telling me how’s it going so far. As far as cleanliness, a big thumbs up! The restrooms were clean to use and stocked. The petting zoo was the best thing my son and I enjoyed at the zoo!

Amy Limberg

Amazing exhibits! Great zoo for all ages. Great gift shop as well. Loved the new elephant exhibit. Lego dinosaur exhibit is cool to see for $3.

John Doe

Great experience! Lots more exhibits than expected. Would’ve been better if some of the animals had more space, they were CRAMMED.

Lindsay Sondelski

Such a great zoo! Updates are very nice. Decent prices and just a great place for a family experience!

Mark Drelicharz

Great family day at the zoo! Clean facilities, friendly staff, and lovely animals. Lunch at the cafe was reasonably priced and fed the whole family. Ice cream was also delicious at the dairy farm area. Now, if only they'd create an enclosure for our wild animal 2 yr old!

JLY

Always a fun experience even if you're not into the animals it's big enough to burn little ones energy; gone at least 2x a week depending on the weather. We don't go when it's super super hot and when it's not super packed. The Family Farm area is the best kid friendly especially with the playground and ice cream along with the carasol and train. If you're not from Milwaukee county area you can bring in your own food, drinks, stroller, and etc. If you want you can also do the zoo tour at $3/person, Skyline ride, and the adult & kids obstacle course.

Amber S.

It's always so much fun going to the zoo. My only complaint is that the food, drinks, souvenirs, etc. Are just too damn pricy. However you are able to bring in your own food and drink so pack some bottles and sandwiches in a little cooler and be prepared for a fantastic family day.

Stevan Pastar

My first impression was in the parking lot where, unlike its Chicago counterparts, it was clean and there were no potholes and it was extremely organized. Then we entered the zoo and I was blown away, it was spotless. I did not see a single piece of trash on the ground. Staff was excellent, answering any questions that my family had in a very polite and knowledgeable manner. All in all, this zoo is cared for immensely by a staff of zookeepers who actually want to be there I will definitely have to come back here some time soon!

Katie Pitterle

We have been zoo pass holders for years and love going to the zoo! It’s always clean and the zoo keepers are so knowledgeable. The animals are well taken care of and for the most part seem to be happy.

Davy Jones

Great zoo lots of animals and u can pack a picnic lunch and bring it in and eat at the tables watching the chimps

Taylor Kahler

Definitely worth the price! Spent 3 hours and still didn't see everything! Loved the exhibits even with some construction going on it was great!

Giselbert Parkhurst

I absolutely love this zoo. Its not the biggest or has the most animals but it's a perfect size for a city like Milwaukee. They have been updating specific exhibits over time. Elephants got a huge update that just finished and now they are using that area for a new hippo exhibit. It definitely shows the contrasting differences on how you built a zoo now vs 20-30 years ago when you look at the older buildings vs the new additions.

Michelle Potter

The zoo is well designed and created to be respectful of the animals. I was sad to see so many exhibits under construction but I still had a great time. I especially enjoyed the giraffes.

Allen De Keyser

Had a lot of fun with friends and family. Looks like the Milwaukee zoo could use a few more animals not as many as when I was a kid growing up.

Karen Lewis

Really nice gotta pay for parking, pay to get in, pay for rides. Once inside very nice I recommend eat before you come in.

J B

Decent zoo. Exhibits and signs need help. Love seeing the apes. Wish there were more food stands open. So many are closed...

Katie Kohl

Milwaukee has such a great zoo. I hadn't been for many years and I am so glad I visited again. The zoo should be a must do once a year.

Janette Rodriguez

Very nice zoo, with lots of "natural" areas. They are making some improvements so at this moment you need to navigate the zoo a little in order to get around one area. Because of the construction, some animals have been move to different enclosures, however they have good signage indicating that.

Lori Popelka

What a great day- I brought my 9 month old along with my 3.5 year old. Both of them were able to interact with animals and get close to exhibits. They also provide a comfortable place to nurse in private if needed!

Amy Mc

We always love going to the zoo. I got a Zoo Pass plus parking so that we never have to worry about paying for each visit or how much time we’re going to spend there. Sometimes we go for an hour and sometimes it’s an all-day event. It depends on the kids and their interest or moods that day, but I like not worrying about whether we’ve “gotten our money’s worth” in each visit. The Big Cats are our favorite, but we are so excited for the new Elephant exhibit to open! We’ve watched the construction from the beginning and cannot wait to see the finished project. It was also a lot of fun to see the new otter home that opened. I love how they’re investing more time and changing things around. Makes each visit just a little different. The Family Farm can be very overwhelming when there’s a lot of children running around everywhere, so we only go there sporadically. Love that you can bring your own snacks and have a picnic, or order from several different vendors through out the zoo grounds. Overall, the Milwaukee County Zoo has been a part of our family activities for the past 9 years and will continue to be for years to come.

Lauren Schwartzbard

This zoo has so many great animals and fun exhibits. It is great for kids but really offers a wonderful time for the whole family. There is something for everyone. Something very special about this zoo is the giant aquarium part with the fish from the great lakes. SUPER COOL.

Jean Ott

We really liked all the recent changes done at the Zoo. From the animal enclosures to the updating of their Concession stands, you are heading in the right direction. During A la Carte we did not like that you went back to not selling individual food tickets. We only needed 2 more to get what we really wanted to eat and I was told, quite rudely, that I could only buy sheets of 10. Didn't get what we really wanted but settled for something that equalled the tickets we had. Also, what happened to the commemorative tee-shirt and sweatshirts? Was sad not to get one this year.

James Ferber

Had a good time at Today Night Out 2019. Perfectly organized and a salute to our city servants. true community pillars of our future.Zoo was nice

Ryan Sawatzky

Loved this zoo! Nice variety of exhibits and all pretty close together. Lots of snack shops scattered throughout with cute picnic areas as well.

Kerry Elaine

The Zoo is great. It is clean, family friendly, and a ton fun! Get the membership and visit at least three times in a year and you have paid it off!

Tim Derse

Been going here since I was a kid loved it then love it now, it has changed quite a bit but never in a bad way, my favorite part is the bats soft, cute, and large leather like wings. Yes I've pet a bat, not here unfortunately but that's ok

Suman Singh

Animals are so healthy here compared to other zoos and that what i was so happy to see. Healthy animals makes a happy animal! Skyride was cool! Penguins were a delight to watch

gueronstacy

I definitely recommend getting a zoo pass. There are surprisingly a lot of things to do here. Make sure to check online for specific times for some of the "events" not sure what else to call them. We always have a good time here! Never gets old

Shay Jarm

This has always been one of the best zoos in the country, but lately they've been making a lot of updates as well as working on upgrading and replacing animal habitats. The new elephant enclosure is absolutely beautiful, as is the entire African continent area. The work they have done is exceptional, and I can't wait to see what they do with the next project: the hippo habitat!!! With the continuing upgrades and additions of various animal experiences, the Milwaukee County Zoo will once again be a world class zoo!

Mindy Baumgartner

Nice zoo. With parking and ticket for one almost $30 for non mke co residents so take your time to enjoy everything. I also had the chicken cordon blue sandwich from one of the eateries and it was good and not too bad of a deal. Had a great time, would come back again.

David McCabe

For October 26th there was still tons to see, and the number of people dressed up in costume made for even more fun. I just wish they would add an invertebrate exhibit!

Sammy Thacker

The zoo is beautiful and a great price. The grounds are kept beautiful and so clean. The staff is very knowledgeable about the animals and very interactive with the guests.

Rose Hohnstein

Loved the trip, weather was great. Construction had us back tracking thou. Also the Web site said parking was $12.50 and when we arrived the cost was$16.00 at entry gate.

Angela Pohlman

Very large, plan for being here a whole day, bring wagons or strollers for young kids, they tire of the walking. Not cheap, bring a lunch if you can! Otherwise the food is pretty good.

Nancy Hietala

Fun place. Lots of new habitats under construction, so a bit challenging to maneuver. but doable. Lots of food and beverages. Informative about the animals, their habitat and endangered status. Nice that parking and entrance fee is all in one as you drive into the large parking area. Offers several fun specialty activities in the evening, like the Harry Potter birthday party, boo at the zoo, food tasting, camping. Great place!

Jennifer Gona

It's a beautiful zoo! The walkways are wide enough for lots of people to pass and the mature trees make it shady and cool. There are lots of benches and picnic tables throughout the zoo so you can sit and rest or have a snack. There is a wide variety of animals to see. There's a train to ride and a rope course/zip line to climb. We had a great time!

Renee Mielke

Fun for ALL ages. Clean. Something fun or nice to see every which way you look. Nice food offerings.

Ana Cristina Perez

Boo at the zoo. In a nutshell, not worth it. Few activities, wait to get on the train was about an hour long. We just thought we would do the train at the end, well they closed the train at 8:30.... Wouldn't recommend this. We love fhe zoo and are members but this event was disappointing.

Kyle Karweick

My wife always loves coming here. Great place no matter time of year

Tracey Stack

I was incredibly and pleasantly surprised. The grounds are beautiful and the animals have plenty of space and great habitats. Highly recommend taking a behind the scenes tour if you're able to.

Bradley Hanson

The Milwaukee County Zoo is the best zoo I have ever been to. Very friendly staff. Very well maintained facility. 5 stars. In a heartbeat.

charlie reitz

The zoo is such a great place to visit. Clean and well kept. As we left we decided to get the annual pass plus.

Andrea Perry

Great zoo! Very clean. Lots of restrooms, never had to wait. Almost all animal exhibits open. Kind of pricey to do anything additional.

Matthew Puta

It's always a fun time here. I haven't been to the Zoo in years, and they've added some neat new things, including a giant elephant exhibit. As always, we enjoyed the large aquariums and the aviary, they really immerse you in it.

Dawn Cee

Such a beautiful setting, well maintain grounds and friendly staff. Love the new animal exhibits. Great to see them with more space.

pam metzger

This is a really fun place to bring your family and friends! There are a lot of uniquely amazing animals at this zoo. My favorite exhibit is the cat, giraffe and elephant exhibit. We also fid the air lift and the train ride which was nice for shade as it was 90 degrees when we went to the zoo that day! I will definitely be going back in the future!

Natalia Rasavong

Milwaukee zoo is very nice and have a great display of animals. However, it’s expensive. Parking, entrance, rides fiddling the animals can be over $100 for a family of 4. If you are planning to visit the zoo more than one time with your family, you probably will be better buying the zoo pass. I don’t have one because I don’t leave in Milwaukee but I know people who does and enjoy using it often.

Joe Zahaitis

Great time. Cute city zoo. Well laid out with space between exhibits. Good time. Good price. Worked out well we went on a Thursday as it was fairly empty.

Whatsur Bucket

It is wonderful fun and the new attractions are as beautiful as the animals the Zoo displays. The Elephant and Giraffe exhibit was just amazing. The kids Always love the zoo.

Jennifer Raymus

We have been Zoo members and donors for years and enjoy regular visits to the Zoo as well as special events and zoo classes/camps. We have a family + 1 guest Zoo Pass with parking. You just present your Zoo Pass and ID at the gate, no ID is required for your spouse, guest or kids. They also allow a nanny/babysitter to use your Zoo Pass with a note and their ID. There are several entrances to choose from with ample parking and ample handicap parking. The Zoo overall is typically clean. Food pricing is average and there are two gift shops plus kiosks throughout the zoo with MANY items to choose from in all price ranges. There are additional shows/activities you can do throughout the zoo for free or a small additional fee (everything has child/senior pricing-prices are listed on their website). There is a train you can ride around the parameter of the zoo. There is a tram you can take through the zoo with a guided tour. There is a sea lion show, bird show, Kohl’s theater, special summer exhibit, carousel, zip line, sky tram, panning, ropes course, face painting, temporary tattoos, pony rides, goat feeding, and MORE! There is so much to do that it would take over a week of visiting to do/see it all and you get your money’s worth on your second or third visit with a Zoo Pass (depends on your level and number of visitors). My three kids have also been attending the summer camps for years and look forward to them each year. We have also taken some family classes which we enjoyed. My sons have also attended Scouting the Zoo for years where they get to camp out in the zoo and they love it. Besides all that, our Zoo Society is always doing great work that you can learn about at the zoo.

John Arneson

The Zoo has always been a great benefit to Milwaukee families and businesses too. Great place to host parties, weddings, charity events and conferences.

A mizzz

The seal show was so much fun! The playground inside the zoo is such a lively and fun place for the kids to burn off some pent up energy. So much to explore.

Muhammad Ayesh

Great time but got lost way too many times. I don't know if I wasn't paying attention or the signage is bad. Either way, I was mad we missed the big cats while there. It was so hard to find! (No, I did not ask anyone but I shouldn't have to)

Victoria Vincent

Everything was awesome (besides what's listed below). The employees could at least be polite to people, very snarky and short, but because of how well put together the zoo was and how happy the animals were I give 5 stars.

Danger Darth

Desperate plenty of construction, this made for a really great date! The webinars seemed well cared for. Renting was informative, and we had a lot of fun!

Talara Hartman

The Zoo is growing and evolving. The exhibits are cleaner and smell better. I was glad to see that if you have the time that there are plenty of interactive animal exhibits including feeding, shows, wild theatre and more. The elephant habitat has expanded tremendously and there are various activities for them. I was also pleasantly surprised to see not only old classics like feeding the goats, the train and carousel but there are wonderful new additions like a ropes course, zip line and a huge playground climber in the family farm area. I highly recommend checking the schedule on their web site, plan to make a day of it and arrive as early as possible. There is so much to see and do I don't know if 9am til 5pm is enough. You may want to take a few trips through the year.

Heather Knutson

It's changed enough since I was a kid that it's awesome to visit but not enough that I don't remember all the good stuff from the past. I still love the farm it's my favorite

Theresa Buschmann

The Milwaukee zoo is never dull. Beautiful grounds, lots to see and do. Definitely worth the annual membership if you live close to it. Fun for kids and adults!

Brent Bowser

Easy to find, plenty of parking, welcoming and nice staff. Zoo admission was free because we were members of the zoo in our state so just had to pay for parking. Zoo was super clean as were all the restrooms. Lots of animals to see and cool train to ride. Location also had a zip line if interested. The gift shop was crazy busy and flow / layout wasn't the best. Food was a little pricey but my brother-in-law and I enjoyed our southwest BLK bean burgers. Overall, great experience and a great way to spend 4-5 hrs. Highly recommend and will be visiting the Milwaukee Zoo again with or without the family.

Brian Rivera

Brand new habitat built for the elephants which is much more spacious. 3 new infants in the giraffe, camel and red panda exhibits which were nice to see. Animals were up and about particularly in this August climate. Great place for a family visit.

Metro T mobile

I always love coming to the zoo. It's cool to see the different animals.

Debra Wiedemann

Visiting the zoo was part of our vacation plan! We try to visit a zoo in every place we go. This zoo did NOT disappoint! Even though it was a drizzly Sunday, we had time to view every exhibit! My husband remembers coming to this zoo about 40 years ago and this is why we made a special stop in Milwaukee!

Bill P

Company Picnic at the Milwaukee County Zoo is always a blast. Its so nice of the staff to keep everything open late for us so we can walk around and say hi to all of our beloved animal friends. The new additions like the Otter compound, the Dinosaur exhibit, and the Elephant area, are a clear indication that this Zoo is serious about sustainability and the future of animal habitats.

Charlotte BolthouseBartelt

A great size of zoo. We had my daughter feed the giraffes and she needs extra help and the staff were understanding instead of trying to invalidate her needs. They have a couple wheelchair accessible picnic tables but we had to look at 4 different seating areas to find one so that could bette. It is the most accessible zoo we've been too though, which is awesome. They even had a lift between 1/2 levels to see the gorillas.

Keith Meyers

Cool zoo - has the normal zoo things. Interesting elephant enclosure. Vampire bat exhibit had some cool info too.

Kathy Ford

Very good. It's been many years since we were there. It was especially nice to go on a work day.

Brandon Bryant

My family loves the zoo, we get the zoo pass every year. They have all the animals you would want to see.

Carrie M

We like feeding the goats and love stopping for cedar Crest ice cream! Wish some of the big cats, larger animals like rhinos, and apes had more room to run around though. The playground is wonderful for the kiddies to let loose on and climb.

Mr_Sitizen III

Great place to visit. Love talking to all the animals and getting to know what life is like living in a zoo! 10/10 would live here!

Jackie Feistel

Always love the zoo!! Very nice there were wheelchairs to use for free to accommodate us as I recently had foot surgery and cant get around well. But thanks to the zoo it could happen getting out on A beautiful day.

Lisa Havlicek

The zoo was so fun for my family. We loved the train ride, the fish & the giraffes. They were doing some construction so we didn't get to see the red pandas but we got to see some trucks which my 2 year old also loved

Kyle Greenhow

Great place to be in "nature" even while in the midst of a large metropolitan area. Lots of great variety. (Animals, food, kids play area, ways to exercise with out going in too many circles) My only complaint is that every time I go, it seems there are several types of animals we can't find. Signage would be nice, both at the entrance and at the exhibit so we can maximize our time while there.

Jessica A. French

We had a great time with our kids at the zoo today. Saw some animals we don't see at our home zoo. It was a great time!

Bob Ehler

One if the best zoo's around! Love the ample shade and active animals. We live coming here.

Katharine Shadle

Best place to take your children for a fun and relaxing day! Definitely should take a zoo class, very informative and fun!!

J. Uzziah Hammond

Great place to spend a Saturday with the family. Grounds kept nice and clean. Great assortment of all types of animals to satisfy the interest of the young just as well as the old. Lots of internal shelters to keep you and some of the other animals out of inclement weather. Nice gift shop and restaurant to round out the experience. If you find this review helpful or enjoyed the photos a "like" of this review would be greatly appreciated. Enjoy!

Vang Pao Lee

I love this zoo. There's so much to see and so much to enjoy. There is just no replacement for a day at the zoo with the family. This is the only zoo in this area that has a rhino and hippo. The train ride is fun but the line is very long. They also have zip lining for the brave people that want to try it. I really do recommend this as a first stop if you're just visiting Milwaukee.

Mariam Cass

The zoo is wonderful but if you have little ones don't miss zoo class! I did with our older sons and now my youngest. The classes are super enthusiastic and build a love and appreciation for animals.

Moises Alcazar

Very nice zoo. It is smaller than other cities but at least all the attractions are close together so you don't have to walk so much. Always nice place to visit.

Danny Parish

Easy to get around easy to see with a young child. Just an enjoyable day

Eric Gooden

This zoo had some animals that were missing in other zoos we have been to lately. Leopard, seals, bears, and elephants were beautiful. They had staff staggered around that would tell you about the animals in more detail which was a nice touch. It was obvious that budget cuts or lack of funding have had an affect on the zoo overall. Tanks and cages were run down and dirty for the animals to be in. Numerous areas were empty or the animals were missing. The polar bear was all green on its sides probably from dirty water and it paced back and forth the entire time. Lack of activity for the animals, pretty sad really. We did go in September so construction was going on and show spots were closed for season. There was some empty green space and a large area for kids to play on as well. Not great, not terrible.

Melissa Adkins

This is a great zoo! Everything is clean and kept up plus the food options are great too!

Ольга Демидова

I didn’t expect Milwaukee zoo to be so interesting. Lots of animals from all over the world. Beautiful and clean. It worth 3-4 hours of your weekend. The only thing I didn’t like was food there. Too much fast food and no healthy options.

Pamela Saari

Love the zoo. Only thing that bothered me was the prices are expensive. Them they also want you to donate to the zoo. What do they do with the money they make? I dropped a couple hundred just on extras not including ticket and parking. Be prepared. Bring something to snack on and a water bottle.

Bob Young

Hippo area was under construction but the rest of the zoo was excellent. Ocean connections area is extra $ but worth it - if you do it feed an animal - it's fun. Not sure the giant lego stuff should be part of the zoo, though.

Shedricka Mccrary

Small but very nice. My children and I liked the train ride. It was short but relaxing.

Good price but there were a lot of closed or empty animal exhibits outside. However, we loved the indoor exhibits with the fish and reptiles! The lions and the tiger exhibits were awesome too. They were active and made for great entertainment. Definitely worth going to because you can see the animals up close.

Great Zoo to enjoy with family and friends. Friendly and informative staff. Quaint and relaxed environment with a decent variety of animals.

Russ Taro

I had an awesome visit to this zoo. It's family friendly, very convenient, clean and affordable. Staff were friendly and ready to explain and educate the visitors. Food were a bit pricey and sometimes you'll be disappointed for some exhibits closure, but you just need to chill and have fun because it's a ZOO!!!

Awesome experience, many things for people with kids to do. My daughter just loved it! I haven't been there in many years since I was little. I really wish they had more reptiles and better signs so you know where to go.

Mindy Richter

The grounds are beautiful. Tons of flowers, lakes. It's very peaceful. The big cats are my favorite!

Dedric Vaughns

It was fun, but wayyy too expensive! Glad my job provided me with the zoo pass so parking was free and getting In was free! Had fun with the kids tho. Even tho all the animals weren't even out! And Food way to expensive for a soda from the cafe was over $5.00. Not something I would pay for! Sorry. Glad we ate before we went! And very very hot that day!

William Kocken

We visited the zoo on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon in August. It was not crowded at all. The volunteers were very helpful at pointing out birds in the bird exhibits and elsewhere. The zoo was neat and clean. There is a wide variety of animals in clean exhibits designed to make the animals feel at home

Amanda Wagner

Best zoo in Wisconsin...maybe even entire country. Enclosures are built to look like the animals natural environment and they are given so much room to move around. Prices are decent here ad well.

Bethany B.

Great zoo! We always come here for a company picnic so I can't say much about the prices - but they have a lot of different creatures and the extra exhibits they have are really neat too! We saw the Lego Dinosaur exhibit. You could easily spend 3+ hours here.

Toasty Muffin

Honestly a wonderful place for families. I just love taking my kids here. They have a great time every time.

Cats Are My Life 201

Its a great zoo to visit. Lots of animals and it has an all around nice layout. The enclosures are good and well maintained. Ive been many times and Ive never had a complaint.

Danielle Brooks

We had lots of fun!! It was exciting to see the sealion and seal show. They put on an awesome show. The animals were all really cool to see. The only thing that I didn't like was that people were very inconsiderate of time spent at one exhibit and you were not able to see when this happened.

Katherine Steward

The Big Cat Exhibit was our favorite! We stayed all day and it was nice because it was slow and not a lot of people.

Mercy Bryan

Awesome! Lot's of fun with family here. Nephew's love the zip line.

Sheila Rogers

Terribly SAD that the new elephant exhibit is nothing but rocks and sand and a bit of water. The fresh trees and grasses are completely out of reach from the elephants, and to watch them stretching as far as possible and never able to eat and forage naturally is abusive and uncaring! It's absolutely Shameful that you consider this area worthy of such sentient, intelligent animals!!

KELLY LONG

Pretty much has been the same for the last 30 years. They are making new exhibits. If you haven't been there ever I do recommend going.

Kehokee Heral-O'Bryan

It's a zoo. Lots of animals. Packed. But you can still enjoy all you want. We got to see three different baby animals. I'm sure there where more. But with a son with ADHD it would be a two day trip. There are lots of plastic mold machines from our youth. Penny presses as well. Grab your quarters and pennies, pack a lunch and have some fun.

Ahmed Obeidat

Very nice zoo. Not too big and not too small. Great variety and programs for all the family. Lots of shade because of all these large trees

Joe Thompson

The Lego dino exhibit in summer 2019 was great! Also a good way to break up a hot summer day walking around the zoo. The newer Elephant exhibit is nice to with interactive things my 5 year old enjoyed.

Josette Elia

It is a fun place. I wish things were closer together. It's a bit of a walk between a few attraction. Like with every place it is a high for food, drinks and snacks. Still a Wonderful way to spend family time and worth every minute.

Sara Lee

One of the best zoos I’ve gone to. Definitely wear comfortable shoes, if you are going to walk around. They have these wax toys that you buy, they have a bunch of wax machines that make different ones all around the zoo. I loved the bird room, such a cool experience to be so close to beautiful birds:)

Kristin Annoye

We were at the zoo yesterday. It was for a picnic which is not organized by the zoo but as usual it was a great function. We forgot our refillable drink cup so we had to buy a new one which was our fault. But not all of the refill locations were open and because of the construction around the elephant enclosure it made it rather difficult to get refills on half of the grounds. The new exhibits are nice and I look forward to seeing the new facilities next year. There were staff outside at exhibits explaining what was happening which was extra fun for the kids and though it was the afternoon for most of our visit we did get some unique animal experiences we've never had before.

Elizabeth Van Koningsveld

If only they were in the wild. I do appreciate the elephant upgrades for more space. The walking and people spaces are great and will kept!

Rachelle Blakeborough

Gorgeous zoo, so much to offer!! I loved the special little inspirational quotes about nature, connection, animals and life throughout the zoo! Designed so well. A lot of space to get a great workout, beautiful ponds, bridges. A good combination of a/c buildings to visit and outdoor wildlife! Pretty much everything from the train, stroller renting, food/snacks, and animals of course! It was mid 80s today but with a/c buildings, benches and shady trees we made it through just me 6 months preggo and my 4 year old!! It wasn't too crowded that was great! The farm is such a special touch! The only downside was pricing, I guess to be expected. And the healthiest food Bean Sprout in the farm area, only smoothies and best options for vegetarian /healthy food, closed early due to slow crowds today. I wanted a smoothie and was bummed to trek back over just for one and have it be closed when the map didn't have hours so I assumed it was open all during zoo hours! Overall gorgeous, I am from Colorado, and the farm, lakes and quotes here blew me away!

Olivia Shaww

Must visit. Exotic animals. I'm not the lover of caged animals but it is a zoo so what the heck did I expect.

Steffry

I came here for the first time for my birthday. (And there were quite a few animals with birthdays too!) I can't wait to come back, hopefully this time I make it to the Birds of Prey Show, watch the elephants get baths, and feed the giraffes. I was having so much fun I lost track of time and missed all that. Thank you for a great experience!

Cathi Park

Best zoo around. We buy a family pass every year. It is well worth the money. And it is nice that they let you bring in your own food and drinks.

Kathy Roed

Nickel & dime you to death. Have to use tickets, when a bottle of Aquafina water is $4.00. We all shop and know what a case goes for. That's one example. Sure glad we didn't have kids on top of that.

Karen G

Milwaukee County Zoo provides a great year round family outing. Large variety of animals, but set up nicely to be able to cover all the ground in one day. Not all concessions are open later in the after or throughout the year, but doesn't dampen the experience.

Chris S

Always have a great time at the Zoo. We have been Zoo member holders for a few years. They have been doing a ton of work and the zoo looks amazing. We hope they continue to remodel more exhibits. Only thing I would change is to have a Zoo member only lane for entry and have a separate entrance and parking for all the school buses.

Josh Cochrane

$12 is a lot for parking in such a big lot, but it fills up to some extent, so I guess supply & demand (with supply limited by location and no surrounding street parking on weekends and holidays, whether due to a 'conspiracy' by the zoo or not :p). In any case, the animals are great and kids always love seeing the exhibits - it was worth it just for them to see penguins when they first walked in.

Syed Anwar

This was a very nice, clean and organized zoo. It was an average size zoo, not a lot of walking. The animals seemed more lively and jovial as opposed to other zoos we’ve visited.

Kel Frag

We love the zoo! My daughter loves walking around and taking the train and we love all the exhibits. Milwaukee really does a great job making the zoo very interactive for the kids. They also have good food and their gift shop is actually decent as far as price is concerned. We love the free zoo days, but we also pay for admission as well.

Ultimatecosplayz Official

I'm not a fan of zoos myself, but this would be a good place to bring your family. They have animals of all kinds, and places to eat. I'd say it's a good zoo all around.

LaDonna Borth

I love the Milwaukee County Zoo. They're always working to improve for the animals and the people. The Africa area is lovely. I recommend buying a zoo pass and, it doesn't hurt to plan your snacks an beverages.

Patrick Conlin

Great zoo! My wife and I don't have kids, but we still love to come and see the animals. They are always upgrading and making themselves better for the animals. Zoos can be somewhat controversial of course, but MKE does a good job with balancing conservation and care for the animals in their zoo with still making it a good family experience.

Deshaun Griggs

Had a great time here. Even received 2 free adult passes for a future visit. Wish the elephant exibit was bigger.

Laura McDonald

Kohl's Wild Theatre is the BEST!!! It's a really nice way to spend the day outside, learning Bout the different animals and how we can impact the environment for them. Great place for fun and education!

Ben

The Milwaukee County Zoo is a fantastic place to visit if you are a resident or from out of the area. We generally try and visit several times a year for one of their events they host there. They most recently updated their elephant area and added a welcoming second entrance next to the otters. The place is always clean and they do work hard to keep the place up to date. Changes have been made since first I visited as a child. If you visit only once make sure you utilize a full day as the area is quite spread out and you have much to see and do.

Virgo Organics

This zoo has been my go to since I was 3. I'm now 38. Lots of animals, The trainers are very nice, animals well cared for. Definitely something you should bring the kids to see or even just as a fun date. Always check their calendar, they do different times and Special events and I do believe they do night outings as well.

Corrin Huggins

It was nice. It unfortunately took 40 minutes just to get in, but otherwise nice all around. The ticket system is odd though. As you have to have tickets to buy food and drink. The gift shop is high cost. When compared to Brookfield Zoo, we really only came for the elephants. Its generally a much smaller zoo, but has nice animal exhibits

Jessica Butler

Came from Chicago twice last month, and had a great time. (The 1st time just us, the second time my entire 11 person family) The only reason I’m giving 3 stars is because the animals enclosures could be way better/bigger. The big cats cage sizes are completely unacceptable. The hippo as well (I was told they are expanding into the old elephant enclosure). I am glad to see they have the elephants and giraffes a new area.

Agreeable Dragon

Always love this place. They've made a few upgrades in recent years, the giraffes and elephant exhibits are really cool. Of course a few other things need updating but still awesome
