REVIEWS OF Escape In Time - Escape Rooms IN Wisconsin

Dustin Kunkel

We went here for my bachelor party and it was a lot of fun. I've done a bunch of different escape rooms, so I'm going to compare a few things relative to others I've done. -The ambiance/detail/decoration, etc. was top notch. Lots of props and decorations, and they were realistic looking. The rooms also had well thought out and detailed scenarios. You wouldn't think this stuff matters that much, but it is really important for the immersion factor. -The puzzles were about the right level of difficulty. Maybe slightly on the too easy side. We got through the room with 17 minutes left, but we had 8 people and used all 3 clues. We maybe could've challenged ourselves a little more. -The puzzle quality was about average. Nothing too elegant and clever, but nothing boring and lame either. In the end, the immersion factor is what I find most important. So while there is room for improvement, I would still recommend going here.

Calvin Brice

It was a fantastic experience, I'd choose this over a movie any day. Get a good group of friends together and try it out!

brendon albrecht

Very well done, realistic decor and challenging puzzles... good people and would recommend for a fun outing

Ryan Lee

Great for a night out as a group! Every room we've visited has been challenging but still a lot of fun.

Tilly Selden

Almost got murdered. 10/10.

Dan Golombowski

Definitely the best designed escape room experience we have had. Even the entrance to the check-in area is a puzzle!

Tony Dougherty

Best escape room I've ever been to! We look forward to each new room they open!!!

Dana Barstow

Fun/scary zombie room! A bit dark and loud, but it fits the theme. Well-decorated and escapable.

Richard Torpy

Did one of the various escape rooms with 13 year old daughter and 2 of her friends. I only went because an adult was required, but in the end I am glad that I did. We all had a lot of fun.

Ian Danielson

The Captain's Cove room puzzles felt disjointed and unmotivated by the story given before the adventure. There seemed to be some missing context for the purpose of our actions while within the room. The room was fun, but I've enjoyed other escape rooms more.

Maria Ahmad

Really great experience! We had six friends in the Eat or get eaten room. It was great. We didn't escape and do wish the actual last step was a little better but the experience overall was very fun

Daniel Crouthamel

Great time, won't be disappointed. Puzzles are challenging.

Patrick Eder

Our group had so much fun here. The atmosphere is amazing! The moment you walk in the door you are transported to another world. Top tier design on the rooms. My only complaint is the room we chose was a little cramped for the 12 people we came with. It could be just the one we ended up doing was like this, but the puzzles we're very interesting and challenging, but not too difficult that they were impossible without hints from the overlords.

Amanda Raabe

I was absolutely blown away by the shear amount of detail put into these escape rooms. The atmosphere of the place, from start to finish, was interactive and totally engrossing. I have been through various other escape rooms throughout Wisconsin, and I assumed that my experience would be essentially the same this time as well - I could not have been more wrong! Escape in Time offers a level of imagination and creativity that far surpasses anything I was expecting. My group and I had such a blast! I can't wait to go back in the very near future!!

Hailey Voss

Really fun and challenging, staff was nice and always ready to help

Tamie Hanson

I have done water landing and eat or be eaten! Both were outstanding, the atmosphere was over the top. We succeeded in water landing, but i'll be back this weekend to take another crack at eat or be eaten! I highly recommend trying escape in time.

Tyler Bowden

These guys are the real deal! My wife and I had an absolute blast last Saturday and we're definitely coming back to do the other room. The atmosphere is incredibly detailed and we were immediately sucked into our scenario. Hollywood quality props and effects. Can't wait for the other rooms to be completed!

Reighly Schultz

Great staff! Went there with my girlfriend, and it was a lot of fun! They were super helpful and made us feel safe even though we were in the scary room!

Katherine Nobui

The rooms are very creative and the staff keep up with the theme! I love the added touch of having to find your way through the first room to get to the check in desk! I have gone twice and plan to go again. If you go and love it, I recommended getting the deal at the end where tickets are discounted for future rooms.

Sue Eicher

Six adult novices successfully solved the Alien Autopsy Escape Room with minutes to spare! Not at all what we expected, even after reading "Helpful Hints" online. It was fun and a great activity for a group of friends who have known each other for 30+ years. Beware: some activities require at least 1 person in the group to squeeze through a small place, climb a ladder and crawl a plank. Also, dimly lit for "older" eyes leading to some frustrations. We would all do it again.

Dyll TMP

Fun place l, hard to find clues but fun

Tony Scribner

Great time for a teenage birthday party. We did the Pirate theme. Needed clues but made it through in time. Would try it again.

Adam Wunsch

Super fun! Staff is very engaging and rooms are fun!

Kathy Paskey

We went to Eat or be Eaten. The room was set up really good. BUT, WAY to expensive for what you get. We left very dissatisfied. Some of the clues did not help you in anyway to move forward. Make sure you wear rubber gloves. My nails are still black and it has been a week.

Rebecca Altman

The staff were cool. The puzzles were hard but solvable. It was a lot of fun for a birthday party for adults.

Terri Mac

A great experience. A good team- building event!

Chris Kulawiak

Props/rooms are really well done. Puzzles are a good difficulty. Great atmosphere and very friendly employees.

Rick Kohrs

Cryosphere - 8 people was too many. Was hard to contribute, some of the tasks require getting into small areas which limited it to one person. Might have been more fun if we had our own group of 8. I'd try it again.

Dawn Gramse

OMG-alien autopsy is a must do! Loved it!!

Jonathan Staebell

Really nice people that make it a super fun experience

Jason Corbin

Wow was this a great afternoon! Interesting and wonderful for the imagination. My 80-yr old mother even enjoyed it in the horror-themed "Eat or Be Eaten" room - we solved it with 27 seconds remaining. We will be back.

Alejandro Nunez

It was a lot of fun and everyone enjoyed it. The only thing is that if you go, you should try to get the private room option, but we went with 10 people and felt like we had too many. Having 6-8 people would probably make for a better experience, but then you either not book a private and run the risk of random people joining and increasing the number, or you are paying a significantly higher amount for the private room since you divide the cost with fewer people.

Andrew Hilfiger

I'm still stuck here, help

Casey Holman

So this place is an experience. Very little can be said without spoiling anything. But I fully recommend bringing a small group of friends here, or just going by yourself. It's 30 per experience, but O boy is it worth it. Not really allowed to take photos, but it's a sight to behold. A must try, and potentially the best escape room place around Madison

Shane Zahn

First time at an escape room and wasn't sure what to expect. Very fun from the very beginning. We needed a little guidance to finish but not too much. The hints were well thought out to not give too much away.

Brad S

We escaped! The room was a little smaller then other escape rooms I have been to. However, their rooms are very well themed. Our group was placed with another group and made just to many people in the room where you had plenty of time just standing around. If they had one group per room, they would be 5 stars.

Candy Brooks

This place is a blast to go to. If you want to be flashed back to another era this is the place to go. I was in the room eat or be eaten. It is one of their harder rooms, but still fun! Dont forget to ask about the rates for after your done with your room. Unfortunately they dont allow photos.

Kyle Geil

We had a great time. The scenario was fun and well detailed, and the puzzles were very challenging. Great for a first time eacape room participant and still fun for a more experienced group.

Mark Wilkes

Had a great time! It was fun, challenging, and made you think outside of the box. Highly recommend it, looking forward to their new rooms!

Ryan Boll

Ok, so this is my pre-review. So far with the booking of the rooms, i don’t like how you have to sign a waiver online. It’s to confusing and hard to get my friends to do so. Also, one of my friends had to cancel and we can’t get a refund which honestly sucks. With my check-in experience I give this place a two star. We’ll see what my post review says afterwards on Thursday night.

Andrew Hoffmann

Dedicated staff, even early on a Saturday morning. High quality experience

Deb Trieloff

Lots of fun! Had a group of 9 adult friends. Smaller group might be more ideal (maybe 6) depending on the various skill of the players.

Rebecca Thompson

This place is awesome! Very clean and all the employees are super nice! We did the Cryochamber room. We're going back in August to celebrate a birthday!

Noah Jones

Really superb. Excellent customer service, tricky puzzles and an incredibly immersive atmosphere. This is the third escape room I have been to, and the level of quality here really stood out.

Addisyn Gille

This place was AWESOME. I recomend going here. I did the water landing. It was amazing.

Deja Rasmussen

This was our second time, and it was a blast. Once without kids, once with, will be returning soon!

Radha Kanchana Karthik

Escape in Time was GREAT! It was my the first time my friends and I had tried an escape room and it was so fun and the staff were so friendly. We will definitely be going back, and I highly recommend this place to people of all ages!!

Andy Melang

First time ever going to an escape room and found it to be an excellent experience. Staff was friendly and personable. The design and detail of the rooms was phenomenal and did a great job putting together an excellent experience all around. Will be back in the near future to try other rooms. Highly recommend

Peter Jones

Tons of fun, great for parties

Michelle N

Our group of 7 really enjoyed this escape room. The room was set up with many details and made for a more believable experience than what I hear about other escape rooms. I had completed one escape room prior to this one and was so underwhelmed that I wasn't sure I wanted to do another. Well, I'm glad I gave it another try! This one was very fun for all of us.

Matt Tosto

Didn't know what to expect going in to this. Brought a group of 12-year olds down as part of a birthday party and everyone had a GREAT time! The kids were raving about the experience for the rest of the night and bugging their own parents about booking their own party time doing another escape room. The room was well conceived, the clues were fun and just accessible enough to keep everyone engaged without being frustrated. The staff was helpful and playfully in-character for the whole experience. Would definitely recommend this experience to others.

Rachel

I visited Escape in Time as part of a department team-building event. We were able to escape the "Water Landing" room with seconds to spare and made lots of memories in the process! There were a couple of "surprise" elements, but nothing scary or creepy. The staff member assisting us was very friendly and helpful. She gave us hints on how to solve the puzzle when we asked. I would definitely participate in another escape room here.

Sarah Woodbury

Lots of fun. Clean and friendly.

Kayla Drewry

Loads of fun for all ages.

Chelsea Roe

We've been to many escape rooms, and we've even set records in a couple of them. I've seen high tech rooms and low tech rooms and honestly this was in between. Their special effects were neat, and their game masters really sold their performance. If you're here for a fun show this is a good place to go, however, if you're like me you prefer the puzzles. So here I will list my biggest complaints. 1. The 'puzzles' were very linear. You did A which led to B which led to C. There were no side puzzles to work on, no red herrings for fun. Just one to the next, which only a couple of people could work on at one time, leaving the rest of your group feeling useless. Which leads to point number two... 2. Their group numbers were way too high for how linear the puzzles are. Everyone in our group was experienced at escape rooms, yet only a couple of us were engaged in the puzzles at any given time. Ideally the room we were in would be llayep by no more than four people, half of the "recommended" number of participants. 3. Technical errors. We experienced a technical error during our play through which we spent several precious minutes on trying to fix and then we were almost reluctantly given the work around to fix the puzzle. I get it, the room is brand new and I've played new games before and helped test ones, but from what I could tell they knew about this error and simply decided not to fix it before releasing this game to the public, which seems unprofessional to me. 4. The price. Not really a complaint, more of just an observation, this room is more expensive than most rooms I've seen. For the price I had high hopes that this room would at least be fun for an hour, instead I found myself wishing I had just stayed home and saved the money for something better and this is the first time I've ever experienced that with an escape room. I'm not saying it was an awful experience, just that there was an opportunity to do a lot better and instead there was too much of a focus on special effects and less on actually creating fun and engaging puzzles. We made it out of the room in time but the feeling of accomplishment wasn't there and it just felt bland instead. I don't intend to return to these rooms and I hope my review helps people consider what kindnof escape room they want to do. Again, this one had neat effects and a cool story, but their puzzles left a lot to be desired.

Laura Steward

Awesome time today. Room was very detailed. Staff was awesome!?

David Wilcher

Attended with a large (approx 30 ppl) group from work, and we had a blast. The staff were very friendly and efficient, and the rooms were just the right mix of fun & challenging. Would definitely go back.

Brittany Winchell

Love this place! The escape rooms are so fun!

Olivia Phanchan

Alien Autopsy is medium-hard difficulty and is super fun!

Kalette Christiansen

The moment we walked into Escape In Time's entryway, we knew it was going to be legit! Our group rented the entire room for the Alien Autopsy. Although it says you can have up to 12 people, I would not recommend more than 6 because it was pretty tight. We had done other escape rooms before but this one was challenging for many different reasons (dim atmosphere, intermittent lighting, and some tight spaces). We finished our room with only a minute to spare! You could tell the employees enjoyed their jobs, which I loved! We will most definitely be going back in the future!

Kaylee F

I've been to a few escape rooms in the area and this one has been the best so far. The theming is elaborate and very interesting, even the staff dress up in cool, futuristic looking costumes. I've only done one room here so far, but it was awesome. I highly recommend this one if you're looking for a great escape room experience.

Shannon Arndt

Brought my Girl Scouts here for a team building exercise. They enjoyed it. It was a bit pricey but we snagged a Groupon.

The Nick of Time

Update: tried our second room here and it was amazing. This is the 4th escape room we have done and none come close. The customer service is also fantastic. Don't try another escape room, try escape in time! So me and my wife had a mixed time here. We we're very impressed by everything including the waiting room. However we got stuck with a group of 7 teenage girls so we couldn't really fully enjoy the actual escape room experience. Obviously that is not the fault of the escape room but it would have been nice to know/push our appointment to another time. Look forward to trying another room here in the future

Enno Siemsen

Good Puzzles and friendly atmosphere.

Molly Zeller

Fun and creative!

Erik Rathgaber

The ambiance is pretty sweet.

Jeff Herman

Escape in Time was a fantastic experience. My group did the Eat or Be Eaten room and it was incredible. It was challenging but we never got stuck too long on one activity. Progression was very clear so we weren't ever wasting our time on tasks out of order. Very immersive experience with lots of little scares. Just well done across the board. Really looking forward to going back and doing the Water Landing room.

Alister Tuttle

This place is so amazing and I am overjoyed to hear they are expanding. My group and I had so much fun there we bought another set of tickets as we left. Big warning: not the place for those with disabilities physical or mental. Especially PTSD

Nick Luther

I went with a group of 5. We all had a blast. From the moment you enter, you know it is going to be a good time. try it and you will know what I'm talking about. I have a child that's 10 so we picked the water landing. The attention to details was outstanding! I must say that without the child, I'm not sure we would have made it out in time. Can't wait for the next child friendly room to be ready!

Ricky Sullivan

This was our second escape room experience. We did alien autopsy and water landing and completed both successfully, it was a great time! We got it for a good deal on groupon. The staff was great at their job and the place itself had cool ambience. We will definitely be back!

Jennifer Soler

My boyfriend and I who are in our early 20’s have completed 3 of the 5 rooms, and we loved them all! The whole theme of the facility is fun and gets you in the mood to escape. Staff is super friendly. The rooms that we completed (cryosleep, eat or be eaten, captains cove) were definitely a little easier than escape rooms at different facilities, but if you don’t use any hints they become challenging. Would recommend to first timers or experienced escapers!

Krystle Bauman

I would highly recommend Escape in Time, we were late for our reservation due to our dinner reservations being screwed up, and they extended our time, staying late, so we could get the most out of it and cut the cost since we didn't get the full hour! I will definitely be going here again! The staff was amazing and stayed late for us! We really appreciated it and it made the night out to be memorable and fun!

amanda skidmore

It was a super fun experience for everyone and the hosts were in character so it made it even funner.

Kaylea Coolwhip

I didn't feel as challenged mentally as at another escape room in Madison, but the rooms were flawless and the employees were fun and engaging.

Frank Wan

Had some scheduling trouble but they resolved it quickly and easily with another room and coupons. Our group had a blast in the escape room! Will definitely come again.

Vasiliki Volkova

We've done almost all of the rooms here, and it's the best room Escape experience in town. The level of detail they put into each room creates a deep sense of immersion, and the puzzles are always cleverer than you expect.

Atticus Maasz

This is the most immersive escape room experience in the state! The experience begins the moment you walk through the door and begin solving puzzles before you're even checked-in. They have two rooms open now but are going to have four more open soon! Each room is designed with the attention to detail of a movie set, with plenty of custom-made props and clues that will keep you entertained the whole time! Every room has a different theme that ensures you will always have a unique and exciting experience with every room you try. The clues are fun and interacive, more than just pieces of paper hidden inside boxes, and really require the entire group to put their minds together to solve the problem. So if you are looking for a fun and unique experience for your family or group of friends, you MUST go book a room at Escape in Time!

Patrick O'Connell

The puzzle was kinda meh. Bigger problem was the facilities. One part of puzzle pieces required climbing through to area that made it impossible for one person in party to go into due to physical limitations. Several uncontrollable extremely loud motion sensitive triggers.

David Bingham

This was my first escape room and I can definitely say I'm a fan! Will be back

Jeremy Hohmann

Such a great time if your debating on whether it's worth it don't! Well worth it!! Tried multiple rooms and impressed by all of them

Gary Mc Intee

Very nice first time going.

Randy Schwenn

I had my first escape room experience here with my daughter yesterday. We did the room Cryosleep. It was a real challenge. It was a nice bonding experience and fun working together and figuring out each step of the game. Extremely immersive experience from the time you enter the front door. Staff was great and theatrical. I will definitely be back to try other rooms! If you are looking for something fun and new to do with the family, I highly recommend you check out this place.

Josh M

Great ambiance, amazing introductions. Will be coming back.

Andrew James

It was something to do. But tasks were unenjoyable.

Peyton Fitchie

I went with a couple of friends and we could not stop talking about how much fun it was even hours after we left. The workers there are so super friendly and patient. They are the definition of amazing customer service. The rooms are unbelievable on how amazing they are set up. Every penny spent is worth the experience. Definitely recommend Eat or Be Eaten if you’re a horror junkie! Amazing! Will 100% be back soon.

Marc Myhre

This was so much fun. We had a group of 12 that seemed like a little much. Groups of 4-8 or 9 would be preferred. We did not succeed at our mission but that could have been because of some of our members had a couple too many drinks.

Rebecca Gibbs

Awesome experience!

Roberto Muñoz

Very well planned escape rooms with different themes and immersing the visitor into the experience right from arrival. I've done other escape rooms and the only reason I didn't give them the 5th star is that here the clues are mostly hidden instead of drawn from deduction. I'd like to see more connection of clues that combined will reveal bigger clues. Don't get me wrong, the experience here is worth every penny and the staff plays well into the themes.

Cynthia Taylor

My first time at an escape room. A lot of fun!

Ryan Sharpee

Good atmosphere. Somewhat confusing to find parking area.

Alex Hill

We did the Alien Autopsy room and it was an OK experience. They put you in parties of 8 people and it's an excessive amount given the limited space so the entire event is rather crowded. One of the items we were supposed to manipulate in the room was broken so we ended up wasting 10 minutes trying to figure out the clue when it was physically impossible. Another task involved picking a lock but no one in our entire party could figure out how to do it. I understand and appreciate a challenge but too many people for a small space, an entirely broken clue, and a task that 8 people couldn't solve makes this a very blah experience. I'd be very reluctant to recommend Escape in Time when there are several other options in the Madison area. I would also like to state that management has been very insistent about contacting us to rectify our bad experience. They offered us 60% off another room if we wanted to book one after left but I don't see why anyone would take that offer after such a poor initial experience.

Diana Hansen

It was our 1st time here! We came for date night & it was so fun! You definitely have to try it out :-)

Jessica Johnson

We recently took a group of nine friends to Escape In Time and we had a blast! No one in our group had done an escape room before and Escape In Time made booking easy, and made the experience fun for all - VERY theatrical! We were successful with our mission, and everyone could not stop talking about the escape room for the remainder of the evening. We will be sure to go back soon!

batmanAMA

Pretty fun experience, with room for improvement. I ran cryosleep with 4 other people, and the room would be cramped at max capacity. I'd say it was a little sparse with 5 people - all the puzzles are concentrated in one location that can fit 2-3 comfortably. The production value was astounding, and made up for my minor gripes and quibbles. I plan on returning.

Ryan Olstad

It was amazing, there was so much attention to detail and the puzzles were challenging. I'm definitely looking forward to my next attempt!

Nina Dietenberger

Love it!! Friendly staff and the 3D golf was super cool!! The animals looked like they were really coming at you

Tom Carr

We had a great time

Jeffrey Smith

My fiance and I really had a lot of fun...The fun begins the second you walk in the door. I thought the lobby was stylish and welcoming. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. We can't wait to go back.

A S

I was extremely disappointed with the Captain's Cove room. All the puzzles and clues were very unintuitive. When we managed to solve them, I thought "wait, THAT'S what you're supposed to do with this???" without any feeling of satisfaction or accomplishment. Because of this utter lack of direction, we even solved one puzzle on accident by doing random things with an object we found, which really shouldn't be a 'feature' in any escape room. Also, most solutions required you to do something with an object, meaning one person in your group ran around with said object and tried to find where it goes or what it does while everyone else mostly stood around doing nothing. It was all very uncooperative. Another example of poor design is that we had solved a particular puzzle and tried the correct solution, but it had to be executed very perfectly/precisely and so we wasted even more time because we thought we were missing something or doing it wrong. I will say that the atmosphere was top notch and the room was very well decorated. However... most everything that isn't part of a puzzle is literally glued down so that really broke the immersion. Another questionable feature of the room's atmosphere is that the lighting was extremely sparse and the room was very dark. We wasted a lot of time on something because none of us actually saw the clue that was in a rather obvious location. I'm not writing this review as a sore loser either as we eventually solved the puzzle, but even so I still felt cheated.

Missy Riggs

I was pretty disappointed, because the website advertises that it isn't just a bunch of padlocks, but it essentially is. We were in the Alien Autopsy room and almost all of the obstetrical involved combination locks or key codes of some kind. Additionally, one of the keypad locks was not functioning correctly. Even though we input the correct code (provided by the staff) it was not responding. We wasted a good deal of time trying to make it work. However, no amount of time would have made a difference. One of the last puzzles was picking a lock..... Unless you already know how to pick a lock, you won't magically be able to in this escape room. I would not recommend the Alien Autopsy room.

ResQmomKim

A great time! We did the Alien Autopsy. We booked the room for our group which was 5. I think we had a good number and mix of people. The level of difficulty was good. There were a lot of different and varying pieces to solving it. When we did get stuck on a couple of things they checked in and didn't give it away but gave us enough to get unstuck. The only problem we had in the room was with one particular lock but there was a way around that. The only negative was although our group showed up when we were supposed to (15 min prior) we ended up having to wait on other people/groups that didn't to get the pre brief which was a little annoying. Show up when you're supposed to, people!

Dave Hedengren

We had so much fun at this escape room. We've been to a lot of these, but this one stood out for its great art design. So many escape rooms have the the theme: you are in a light commercial strip mall, now escape! This one did a great job of creating a sense of atmosphere and narrative.

Chris Pauly

This place is great! I enjoy the experience most when you get a room with your own group. So either book in the morning when most people won't try to book, or book last minute.

DOOR SMASHER

Kids loved it. They were moving the whole time.

John M

Overall a pretty disappointing experience. The employees were friendly, but the Eat or be Eaten room had a number of problems. (1.) First, it was simply too small. (2.) Second, a majority of the “puzzles” were counterintuitive and/or unsatisfying. Throughout the experience, my group constantly felt like we weren’t making any significant progress. There was almost ZERO logic or progression. Suddenly the room ended and my group was left scratching our heads with 15 minutes to spare. We kept waiting for something “cool” to happen that never did. (3.)Third, $30 a person is insane for the quality of our 45 minute experience. In summary, go to a different escape room in Madison unless you like opening drawers to find keys to open more drawers with more keys inside of them.

Bill Pressler

This place is terrific! We visit escape rooms around the country and this one is top of the line. Right away the entry and lobby tell you that a lot of thought and love was put into this, and gives it a very professional feel. We were so pleased with the first room that we booked all the rest that weekend. The rooms themselves are well thought out, and have a few features that are rare in escape rooms, but were an absolute delight to discover. Anyone visiting Madison should make time for this experience!

William Galliher

Very well themed rooms, and fun puzzles

Eric Diskin

Did the Pirate room with 4 people and we had a great time trying to figure it all out. I think 8 would have been crowded, but it was perfect for 4. The props were great and the clues were a real challenge. The staff also got into their roles so it helped make for an extra immersive experience. We all agreed we’d do another one.

Stephanie Taylor

The staff was really friendly. We had a lot of fun and bought tickets to go back.

Chris R

Had a great time. The room we did was pretty difficult to escape. We did eat or be eaten.

DeAnna Cobun

We enjoyed our time doing the Captain's Cove. There was a lot of wandering around trying to figure things out, but overall, I had a great time. The room decor and floors were the best parts. I even booked a room for my girls 11th birthday. Hope to see some of the new room ideas before I decide when and which room!

Randy Groth

Group fun place. It's fun solving the hunt.

Bryant

Absolutely incredible, even checking into the room was fun. The staff are super into their roles and the Alien Autopsy room was tough but fair.

George Pappamichiel

We did the cryo-sleep escape room here. The initial set up in the room was great and the props were all wonderful. However compared to other escape rooms this one was very linear. We needed to solve puzzle A to get to puzzle B and so on. With 8 of us in the room there were 4 of us who had to beg and plead to get our hands on clues. Would have been a better room for 4 people, not 8.

Kyle Simmons

This place is spectacular. Detailed and intricate rooms with very challenging puzzles keep me coming back.

Tyler Wendell

I was very excited to go here. I was even more excited when I showed up. It has the most elaborate lobbies of all the escape rooms I have been to. We did the pirate themed room. Medium difficulty. And we escaped. When we got out I thought "that was it." The clues needed to get through the room were pretty much all find this or that type clues. There were almost no puzzle or figure out this riddle type clues. It took a while to get out because things were hard to find but that is not as fun as some of the rooms I have done that require a little bit of brain power.

Ashley VanHaren

Went here with work and reserved two rooms. Did Captain's Cove, we failed but had an absolute blast. Went back to try Water Landing as I needed an idea for date night. Was worried about going without knowing anyone else in our group. Turns out even at 8pm at night we were with a boyfriend, girlfriend, and his 10yr old sister and her friend. Then we were super worried how it was going to go with children. It ended up still being a great experience and we won! Great Desk staff both times as well!

We had a great time. The staff is super helpful., friendly, entertaining. Too bad it is so pricey.

Josephine Holman

This place was a blast! Walking in is a little dazing because you immediately are solving a room. But it just puts you in the right mind set for your own room. I did the Bunker 57 and it was just awesome. Not too easy to solve but not too hard to solve either. Had 2 minutes remaining out of 60 minutes. We had a 10 person group and the rooms fit most of us comfortably, a bit tight in some areas. Escape in Time has a great group price for large groups that are definitely worth taking advantage of! Definitely going back to do another room sometime!

Taylor Evans

Really good experience, the entrance is especially unique. If you are looking for an escape room, this is the place to go.

Chris Wisley

I went with my 8 and 10 year old daughter's and had a great time , don't want to say too much cuz of spoilers

Classy Penguin

So much fun!!

Justyn Laufenberg

Awesome experience. We went as a team building exercise for work. The detail that is included in the room was spectacular. Wish it lasted a bit longer because of how fun it was.

david champion

Employees are incredibly friendly and helpful and the layout of the building is super crazy fun!

Carey Leerek

Owen Charles

I went for a brithday party, it was an enjoyable experience. I look forward to coming again.

Kimberly Christensen

By far the best in Madison. The ambiance is great, puzzles challenging. An entertaining and fun activity!

Mike Abraham

Did Cryosleep, with my work team. Had an absolute blast! We're definitely going back again!

Mashu

An awesome escape room experience. Everything made sense, and it is very fun. Do try this place out.

Shelli Towne

We had a really fun (if nerve-chilling) time escaping from the "Eat or Be Eaten" room with 8 seconds to spare! It is a perfect room for this time of year with Halloween coming up.

Erica Rodgers

So good! I've been to several escape rooms and this one was by far the best. The look and feel were great and really added to the experience. The puzzles were right on target for how many and how difficult they were. Can't recommend highly enough! We had a blast!

Jenna Richardson

Great for something to do in winter! We did Eat or Be Eaten and it was mildly scary at worst - nothing to be nervous about if you have party members that don't like horror films or scary stuff. There isn't someone chasing you, or something that makes you dirty like fake blood. The room was much smaller than what we had thought it would be, so that is the reason the recommended group size is 6-8 people. I think with 12 people you would have several people that end up doing nothing. I felt the regular price of $30/pp is very high for this activity, but with a Groupon voucher we were satisfied with what we paid. We'll be doing other rooms in the future!

Cheyanne Weis

This was an awesome experience! The rooms are great and the staff are really into character! We loved it so much we did 4 rooms! Highly highly recommend!

Doy Willis

Great time. Both rooms that we have done have been very challenging and the overall experience has been amazing.

vikram stanam

Great themes, clever puzzles, and the rooms have good craftsmanship. captain's cove is really good

Dolores Montanez

1st timer it was fun.....

brutet angel

Love both times i went. I like how you have to figure out how to get into the lobby room. Also their rooms are well made. Good for almost all ages. I will definatly be heading back again with a group. Win or lose the experience is always fun.

Jeremey Campshure

I have been to many Escape Rooms and this was probably the worst. I'm a little sorry to say that, because the staff was very pleasant and they did a few neat things. The puzzles are bland and many were either too easy or were completely unintuitive. Most of the puzzles are just key locks, and there were a couple keys that opened locks to containers that contained nothing except another key! We did Captain's Cove and Water Landing, and Captain's Cove was the worst by far with Water Landing just being mediocre. There are far better Escape Rooms out there, and I encourage you to seek them out.

Amy Laufenberg

So much fun! Staff was great.

EDJM Malsh

Fun and Exciting. Evolution is a Lie

Ethan

Amazing care, great escape room! They do need one more family escape room in my opinion however.

Marcus Krugel

This was a lot of fun for myself and family. I brought 3 kids 12, 10 and 8 and we all found it difficult and fun.

Brian Miller

Great place for family fun.

Evelyn Fields

The second you open the door to this place, before even checking in at the front desk, you are in an immerse, fantastical, adventure. Every area is well themed and decorated, with very little details missed. The employees are always in character and create a positive, safe, and fun experience. The puzzles are just the right level of challenge, making you have to really explore your environment. The person who gives you hints and assistants is always in character and is fairly forgiving in helping you while also making you have to put the pieces together on your own. Nothing is handed to you but you ate never lead astray. I was so impressed (and spooked) the whole time, having such a fun and immersive experience. I will most definitely be back with my friends and family. Best escape room in Madison!

Chris Monahan

Great place, have to use brain power, sleuthing!

margggggggie

My boyfriend and I had a lot of fun doing this. The alien autopsy room was definitely hard as another reviewer said, but it wasn't impossible. And I thought the building overall was very theatrical and themed well.

Alan De Smet

"Water Landing" is overly linear, meaning players often don't have much to do while a subset attack the only currently available problem. Staff are asked to multitask managing the front desk and running hints for rooms; as a result we were asked to wait for a hint once, and from the provided hints it was clear they weren't keeping a close eye on our progress. The rules claim you don't need to climb anything; this is strictly false. Also, the climbing trapped two of our party members in a relatively small space for 5-10 minutes; the gamemaster clearly did not understand when we repeatedly said that they could not climb out! On the minor end, some obvious anachronisms taint the 1978 theming, and we're pretty sure than an essential puzzle piece was not where the gamemaster claimed; we ended up working around it a way not intended by the designer. Oh, and "look for the light swich" is a pretty dull puzzle, especially when it's somewhere bizarre. Overall, we were disappointed. They do get a star for a very entertaining entryway and well decorated lobby. Every other escape room company should be copying that! They lose a point for being manipulative. Their followup email said, in bold, "Remember, anything less than 5 stars is considered a negative review." That's just manipulative. For 5 stars, you better provide an AMAZING experience. That was never an option. I might have given them 3 stars (a so-so, but not actively negative review), but the manipulation attempt costs them a star.

Matt Wolfe

Had a group of 4 try the captains cove room and we all had a blast! The atmoshpere was top notch throughout every room! The puzzles are challenging and not too hard, though some seemed like like we would never figure them out on our own unless we asked for help (which your allowed 3 hints for the duration). The cost is a bit high, but for the amount of unique fun you get along with the level of detail, it is totally worth it! Keep your eyes out for groupons.

Katelyn Jelinek

Very fun

Anthony Dispanet

We made it out! And we will go back!

Brett Jackson

Wow! Definitely well put together and tons of fun. I went here with my family which varied in age, and everyone had a blast. I definitely recommend giving it a try.
