The chainsaw man was awesome
Fun time but misleading as it was mostly a walking experience which is fine but wearing a wedge sandal was a horrible idea. But I did get 8, 000 steps in! The characters on the trail were great! An overweight person would struggle to get through the narrow caves and Im over 200lbs - barely made it.
Very disappointing that we found out once we got back to the canyon that we would have to walk through ankle deep water. Yes it really was ankle deep dirty water.
The boat ride was decent but this attraction is somewhat misleading because this ride is actually a trail haunted walk. So watever you wear makesure u wear comfortable walking/hiking shoes...that's wat it consists of....walking not riding. Not recommended for handicapped elder or young children fyi.
The boat ride there and back was nice! The walking part was fun, but what wasn't fun was the approximately 25 minute wait to get back on the boat. It was very hot and there was no place to sit
Great concept, awesome adventure, probably best thing to do in dells. Just expect that you will get scared then it will be fun
Real fun time.
Awesome experience. Took our 10yo son and he wasn't to scared. Very talebted and hard working staff. Very friendly as well
Did this tour last night with my husband and 2 teenage children. There was a lot of standing around waiting that wasn’t explained until another participant got angry. At this point we found out they let someone with mobility issues do the tour when it clearly states there is a lot of walking involved. Everyone else who paid for the tour suffered as well as the tours scheduled after us. This is very over priced for what it actually is. My children were the most entertaining part.
The tour was fun, but crowded. Glad we chose to do it. Be prepared to walk a lot.
The people stuck at the canyon were pretty nice, especially some chainsaw guy. I think I should have asked for a haircut!
We all enjoyed this. Would defenately do it again.
This tour was not entertaining. It is basically walking on a trail and turning around and walking back to the boat. The nature trail itself looked beautiful. It should market as a trail walk to see the beautiful views rather than a haunted boat tour. I do not recommend.
Good hike, our 10 yr old loved it
Worth it on a nice sunny day
Very cool experience
Loved it. Great experience.
Expected tour guide an Captain. Very well prepared an informative tour.
I loved in it!! Love the creepy experience!! WILL COME BACK!!
This was so so so fun. I thought it was gonna be JUST a boat tour, but its not. You dock, and get off and get to walk all these fun, beautiful neat trails, with a little spook to it, and learn the history of the area. So so fun Definitely not as scary as one may think, but so worth it.
Good story line and fun haunted forest theme along the river.
Goast tour was a good walk... not really scary.... they can do soo much more to improve Dinner crouse not worth the money.... lame music, open bar just for an hour and after that is cash only for drinks....
Really awesome. Do the 830 tour. Sun sets while your boat takes you to the island, and its dark on the way back, and the stars are beautiful. Loved all the ghosts, they did a really great job and put a lot of work into it.
Did it in july loved it! Will be going in Oct
Was good hot and rining but was fantastic.
Place is awesome to jetski and speed boat but one of the member who rented us jeski was very rude and it could have better if he had given a new machine for the ride. Place doesn't have any washrooms unless you are renting room their so keep that in mind while going for the ride.
Must do if you're in Dells! The actors do a great job to creep you out. The best horror setting I've ever been in.
Great experience! Loved it
This boat tour is pure fun. Other than the beautiful scenery the guides were funny and kind. I recommend it to everyone.
Not at all what we expected. no ghost stories more like a Haunted house/haunted trail. Still fun
Was a lot of fun. A little pricey
Super cool if you want to get really spooked go at night
Very fun
Great fun and a good scare
This was fun! It wasn't too scary, but just enough to keep you on your toes. Some of the younger staff was not always the friendliest, but overall an enjoyable experience!
Very scary and a fun place for a little jumpness
Very fun Halloween excursion. I went on a busy night but I'm will to bet it's a lot scarier on a slow night.
This is an awesome boat tour the walking part is also amazing great place highly recommend this place
Must try! Lots of fun. Totally worth it.
Was not impressed. Could have been so much more... stood at the turn around a good 15 minutes waiting for others... not enough scares and too many people at once.... they have a real opportunity to make this an amazing scare but need to step it up...A LOT!!!!
Thought we would experience special effects while in the water, but they drop you off in a trail and turns more into a haunted trail than a haunted boat ride
Looking for something fun to do with my wife here in the Dells and this was a fun experience! First there is a nice boat ride to the canyon where the voiceover tells the story of why it is haunted. Then you reach the canyon and hike for about half a mile with scary peeps jumping out at you at various points. I recommend to let a group go a little bit ahead of you so that you can get scared because when you do it is awesome! Then you reach the end of the canyon and go back the way you came but this time they separate you into couples or small groups. It’s even scarier going back because it is darker at that time and you don’t know where the scary peeps are coming from! Finally, you get back to the boat and enjoy a nice ride back. I would say it’s a good Halloween haunt come early and it’s fairly scary to a normal haunted house goer. Highly recommend for couples or families!
Multiple pieces of this experience were done very well and overall was fun. The waits were a huge bummer but it was still worth it. Expect that it could take hours.
Very interesting, we enjoyed it.
Bathrooms smelled freshly cleaned and the boatride was nice , the attraction was good i only jumped once otherwise was not scared
One of the best experience's of the dells. Took the family, and we all loved it. It's like Halloween all summer long. Try it out if u like things that go bump in the night. Well worth the money
this is the upper Dale's boat tour, I consider it a month c. If you want to experience the Wisconsin dells you must take the upper Dale's boat tour.
The attraction has a lot of potential. If they had more staff in the haunted trail and the staff were better at achieving more than cheap jump scares the attraction could be amazing. Overall, however, it was just a little more than a half baked haunted trail staffed by a bunch of disaffected teens.
A lot of family fun.
Fun ride and nice people
This is not a full boat tour. The boat just takes you back and forth to an outdoor walking trail set up like a haunted house. Its almost pitch black with just red and green bulbs spread out to guide you. People jump out at you. Its a long walk, including ramps and stairs. My husband said its the first time he almost had a military flashback in years. I give them credit for being creative but we won't do it again. It would be hard for small kids, just too long and dark. No bathrooms either, be sure to use one before you get on the trail.
Worth the price for the night ride on the boat. It made me want to take the same tour during the day. We traveled to a separate location for the haunted portion of the tour. There were actors scaring people in makeup, costumes, and fake chain saws. Creepy but not too overwhelming. Beautiful scenery.
We all enjoyed ourselves on the ghost boat tour. The only part that was unexpected was the long wait after we finished the trail, they didn't tell you that you have to wait on the other boat people to co.e through and clear the path before you can go back. The trail did change up on the way back and it was more scary thing. It is a lot if walking and it is better at night or you will be able to see the actors in the day time. It was very fun and screams. I think that they should have a few people go off the boat first then wait about 10 to 15 mins to let the next set go because you can hear the people scream which takes away all you scare because they actors do not jump out at you because they seen you behind them and now they can't scare you. I enjoyed it outside of that. Thanks for the the I just think you guys should start splitting the groups up more.
To many people per group. New what was happening before we arrived
My complaint about this event is that it is not a boat tour in any way, it is a 5-minute boat ride out to a haunted trail with the typical jump scares and spooky sounds. the fault is mine for not investigating beyond the advertising which is extremely misleading, but you can get the same experience cheaper at many other places in Wisconsin.
My daughter who is 10 was scared out of her mind and had a great time. I wouldn't have enjoyed it the same if I had a group of adults, be ready for a long walk in a dark woods. My suggestion for improvement would be to tell ghost stories or some lore on the boat.
Loved it
Very scary and very well put together
Were actually on the sunset dinner cruise but this is our 6th year and it's always fantastic!! Food is great, dinner is great, and the live entertainment is exceptional!
Lengthy review but worth the read if you want to have a good idea of what you are getting into. Loved the boat ride to the canyon and the spooky story. Nice props and great design of the canyon. Little more lighting would have been good to get a full affect of the actors make up/design. Did not care for the way the actors tried to scare you by screaming at you. I have been more scared/entertained by haunted house actors by being starred at and silent or soft spoken or growls. On my visit they took two boats out and seemed to let passengers of both go through at the same time. Horrible planning. At turn around point had to wait a good 15min before they started to let people head back to the boat. Crammed about 30 people or more into a very small walkway. Reason for this was because with the narrow canyon way people weren't easily able to come and go. They were waiting for majority of the people coming to come to the turn around spot before allowing people to go back. A better experience would be if they spread the passengers out more only allowing maybe 20 passengers to take the trail at a time every 5-10min. I would not mind a short wait if it meant a better experience. Also felt pretty rushed through the canyon due to too many people at once on the trail. Would not recommend this tour if you can't stand hurrying up just to wait.
Absolute garbage cash grab. Not worth 27$ (not including tax) when there's other establishments worth your time! Bugs such as spiders and mosquitos were everywhere on the underside of the boat and the lore was forced and campy. And when you get there the jump scares are minimal and not very good. Not scary at all. Also we had to wait 30 min plus for the boat to come back! Not worth the money.
It was a nice boat ride and tour through the canyon
Fun watching the young girls scream. Lots of walking.
If you try anything this Ghost Boat is the bomb, lots of fun
Honestly exceeded my expectations by a lot. 11 stars out of 10.. We are doing it again this year.
Nice boat ride to a haunted gorge where you walk along a hunted path where actors try to scare you then back to the boat for the ride back. Not recommend for the faint at heart or small children
Pretty fun . The boat ride was great, the staff were funny , scary and in character. I thought they could have had the path slightly lit at feet level. I tripped twice because the ground changed but u couldn't see you're feet or path
Would not recommend as it is 85% walking. Wish I would have known a head of time. My husband finished it, but, due to my arthritis I could not.
I'm not 1 to complain but this was a waist of money. It wasn't scary or even an 1.5 long. We had a 7yr old with us and they advised us not to take him but he wasn't even scared. I dont know since it was the end of summer or what. Teilla Sandgren
A lot of fun! Would recommend it and would definitely do it again
It was cool to see the caverns at night. The actors were pretty good. With a lack of control over the flow of guests, there is potential to witness scares before you get to them. I would say it was worth going. Probably wouldn't go again.
This is an excellent idea that could be so much better sadly. Before you start reading this i am going to answer your question and tell you it’s definitely worth it, but please keep reading for details...The potential under more horror genre inclined management is sky high due to the exceptionally ominous setting. Whoever thought to put a scare tour out there is definitely headed in the right direction. Unfortunately, this is about 80% of the entire scare
It takes about 30 minutes to get to the cave, 10 minutes to start the actual walk through, and about 15 -20 waiting to go back through the way you came to the boat. DO NOT GO TO BIG WAST OF MONEY
Love it
Interesting concept, too bad it was executed very poorly. They told us to show up 20 minuets early. So we got there and then told us that we wouldn’t be going until afte 9:00. The boat ended up leaving at sunset and by the time we actually got to the cove/cave. It was pitch black and it was difficult to enjoy it because you couldn’t see anything. I’m sure my experience would have been better if the boat actually left in time.
We were excited for this tour, but we did not realize just how much walking was involved and the majority was up/downhill. My husband and I both have very severe arthritis and unfortunately were unable to complete the tour. The boat ride at night was very nice and what we were able to complete of the walking portion was very cool. The staff was all very friendly and understood our need to discontinue.
Place is awesome, went in June and going again today, with our grown up kids!!!!
Awesome exprience. Totaly worth the money
Very scenic and unique would of been better if the groups where split up a little more
Would give zero if I could.
Fun, gimmicky but fun!
Great time
Awesome ride
Waited for about 45 minutes to get on the boat. Person giving information over PA sounded like Charlie Brown's parents. There was a story but couldn't hear it over the boat motors. After a ten minute ride we get dumped off on a dock. A member of our group was on crutches. We get to the bathroom area and get directed down the wrong path because we are following the people in front of us. After getting back to the boat we are told we can walk all the way back and go through the canyon. We declined and just went back to the boat dock so we didn't waste any more time on this tourist trap.
Fun, beautiful scenery, walking wasinteresting
Great boat ride.
Well worth the money, make you sure you take alot of friends to protect you....
Boat is misleading, more like 3 miles of walking on uneven ground in the dark. No scares. Stood in 1 place for 20 min waiting for the okay to walk the reverse route back to the boat. No fun, save your money!
Really cool trip. Very well done.
Went with the girls from my daughter's softball team and everyone had a good and frightening time. The river cruise was nice, but the scary part is the walking trail through paved sidewalks among the caverns. Beautiful scenery as well.
Very very beautiful place and good food.
Was fun! Needs to be more scary!!! BEAUTIFUL setting.
More like the ghost walk
Not impressed with the Ghost Boat at all. Don't waste your time or money. First off there was a delay because they seemed to be way over booked. Then 2 boats took about 100 people each up the river. They played a scary voice over talking about a character Whiskey Jack, but when you get to canyon there isn't all that much that even correlates to that story. When you get off the boat its a lot of walking up the canyon. But when there is 200 people in a single file line you can always hear the screams shortly ahead of you, so nothing was very scary. Just characters jumping out at you. But it seemed there was only 6 characters working any way. You basically walk up the canyon a mile or so, then turn around and walk right back the way you came. And you pass all 200 people you came with, coming back the other way, on a little 3 foot wide bridge. I would never do this trip again, or recommend. Worst haunted house experience i've ever seen. What a waste.
This was amazing. Took 3 teenagers and had a blast. Lot of walking and some stairs but so worth it. Will do again next tome we are here
Refused to provided service since I had my service animal. I tried posting reviews to TripAdvisor but they removed my review. I wont get into all the details but I was mortified that a scene was made because I have a service animal. The employee kept referring to my service animal as just a pet and just a dog. People with disabilities and service animals are protected by ADA federal law. What they did was against the law and completely immoral.
3 stars because some of the employees were rude and I felt very rushed to take my photo, I then said I would come back to get it.. and they had to pull it out of the trash can.. Anyway, great boat tour though! very creepy, avoid going when its tooo busy, ull be on that island for a while
Fun and da boat ride was well worth it! Relaxing in da moonlight the fresh air and the wind was cool! The actors do.come out and follow u nd scare u! And they might chase u back to the boat! I didn't like getting bothered by the photographers tryn to take our pics $20 for a pack with a key chain wow! Expensive!
It was a blast. Great family outing!
Awesome
Had a good time. Was pretty scary. But on one part of the tour, me any my family were toward the back of the line. It took us about 30-45 minutes to get out of the section of the island that we were in. It was pretty annoying because I’m a child and one of the haunted house staff were harassing us. Not really but yeah. Other than that it was cool.
It was a nice night walk in the woods, but if you have experienced hangings recently or EMS related calls you might have a harder time.
Way over priced and very poorly put together the boat ride was longer then the trail. The story didn't match any of the trail. Send way to many people threw at once so it ruins any scare you can hear people in front of you. Parts of the trail was flooded out. Not scary at all this could be way better if time and effort were put in it. I would not recommend this by any means for $25 maybe $5 but even that's pushing it.
It was awesome, very scary, great captain, and so much fun. You will not regret going on this adventure.
Love it! The tour getting to the place is spooky and once you arrive it is crazy! It is dark, scary and fun! I recommend this place to anyone.
OMG. Best experience ever. We are looking forward to next vacation to do the boats.
Fun time!
If u love nature then this is the lovely place. Nature at it's best....!!!
Best haunted tour ever! Loved it definitely worth it I can’t wait to go back. Keep up the good work guys!
Great time
Loved the boat ride and the actors that scared the public. They kept scaring my two girls which was quite entertaining to me. I definitely recommend trying out this attraction. If you get one of the coupon books given away at most hotels, you can save 20% off because it is a little costly. Overall, a must try!
It didn't make me scream lmao
This is a great attraction if you love a good scare. Its amazing time.
Even though it was raining - I had a great time. Not as scary as it could be. The scenery is phenomenal.
The boat ride at dusk was pleasant. Once docked, it was a nice WALK, nothing scary about it. Very unfortunate as it has a lot of potential! I would not recommend it. My 17 year old son was equally unimpressed.
Had so much fun. The ride on the boat was beautiful, relaxing and so peaceful. The walk through the canyon was a ton of fun. The actors did an amazing job being and staying in character. There were many screams and a ton of giggles throughout the group. There was a lot of walking up hill so may be hard for elderly and disabled. Most definitely worth every penny. Overheard many saying they enjoy it every year. I would travel the 8 hours I traveled to do it again.
Not much of a ghost boat more walking than every thing was not scary at all the boat ride there and back was fun but the walking is not so fun it was raining and very slippery they should have pick a different day and it could have been more scary but overall still fun
Simply scary and adventurous!
A very unique haunted experience! The whole trip took 1.5 hours and was real fun. Only complaint were some of the photograph employees was rude, otherwise the canyon actors were awesome
This unfortunately was a let down. When you hear ghost boat you think a boat that "haunted" or at least driving past shores that are "haunted" If you do this while you're in the Dells, make sure you are ready to walk trails for 1.5 miles. The canyons are gorgeous even at night but I'm sure even more in the day. You ride the boat out to the canyon while listening to a story on the stereo system. Depart from the boat, walk a mile and a half thru what suppose to be a haunted canyon but honestly we jumped bc of being startled maybe twice but never scared.
The canyon is absolutely phenomenal at night . And IT IS SCARY !!
My daughter and her two friends from NH went on a tour and said it was AMAZING!!! The staff was great as well!
It was an unexpected scare! We had lots of fun!
I loved it! Giving a 4 star because they should be more up front before you buy tickets that this involves quite a bit of walking/hiking and is more of a haunted house. I don’t do haunted houses and almost wanted to get my money back after we found that out...however, I’m glad we did it. The hike was awesome, the effects were great, and I am a BIG fan of the actors not touching you. That 100% made this a different experience than a normal haunted house type thing. I keep saying haunted house, you’re not indoors. You’re outside at night in the woods and hike through some actual canyons. They’re small but it adds to the scary factor. Saw someone else say if you’re a hefty person you might get stuck, it’s true. Some passages were pretty tight and my hips touched both sides at the same time at a few points. I recommend this experience and I would totally go back.
Was a good one time experience. Includes a 20 mins boat ride towards a canyon. After that there is a 20 mins walk which has all the jump scare moments. They have done a nice job in creating a spooky environment for that walk.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! This was my first time doing something haunted and "scary" but it was totally worth it. I give 4 stars because of some slow moments due to staff and the expenses. If you don't mind spending a good amount of money, I would highly recommend it!!
Beautiful views, plenty of photo opportunities. We felt the photo book should be included in the ticket price versus being an additional $5.
Characters do a good job of keeping the group engaged.
It was nice. My brother got personally scared by the staff members during one part of the tour, that was something to remember! Wish that the tickets came with seat numbers so I could sit near my party instead of by strangers. Otherwise it was very enjoyable :)
This was nice but do not expect a normal tour. This is like a spook house around Halloween. I didn't expect that, but we still had alot of fun. Ashame too because instead of a gimmicky haunted house I preferred enjoying the scenery at night. Maybe make an option for going through another area at night with a tour guide? Just a thought.
The man that wus loding the bouts wus viry viry rude to my son
Out of five teenagers, i was the only one to scream with joy honestly.
WAITED SO FAR, hour and a half, to find out ride was canceled. manager no where to be found. NOT CHEAP. i give ratings not so critically, but this is ridiculous. don't waste your time. wasted the last night of my vacation for nothing. everyone on the boat is yelling and no one has answers.
Cute haunted boat/walk its not a tour its interesting tho
Actually interesting and scary in some places! Very beautiful ride as well!
Cheesy attraction in a beautiful setting.
Well I won't spoil the thrill by adding details but it's worth a visit. It's an uncommon concept and the ride should be promoted more in Wisconsin Dells tourism
Tried to take my nephew on this this time last year but the dock and ticket booth were both deserted and we were there early. Good thing I didn't pay to park. Very disappointing! With only 2 days in the Dells we could've spent this chunk of time elsewhere! Booo...
Simply beautiful and unique
Way tooooo scary..could even finish it
Had a lot of fun. Staff was great. My 13 and 14 year old loved it. A little wait at the end for the boat to return.
Dells Ghost Boat tour was nice, it was something fun to do at night the boat ride to and from was the best enjoying the sunset and the stars on the return. The tour its self was ok I would have preferred it in the daytime lol so I could have enjoyed my surroundings more but I know it's not that kind of tour the bad thing about the tour is when you get stuck in the witches cave so they can send you back in your groups and then they give you enough time so you dont know what's coming up lol overall an enjoyable experience
It was fun and the actors were good. But the scares were to far in between.
A must see when you are in the Dells
A unique "haunted" experience. A nice cool aired boat ride just as it's getting dark followed by a hike in the dark with lots of jump scares. Probably not the best for small kids. But a lot of fun for bigger kids and adults.
Fun experience a new version of a haunted house
Sure, could be better but was alot of fun. My 9yr old was scared to death. Adults were entertained. Definently worth it. We will go again.
This wasn’t worth the money. You sit on the boat for Twenty minutes for the 150 other people to get on(there’s two boats), ride the boat for 20 minutes and you walk through the forest for about 10 minutes then stand at the end of the forest for everyone else to get through. Currently writing this as I’m waiting to walk back to the boat. There are so many people that you don’t even get scared because you can see everyone else in the huge line in front of you gettting scared. You’re paying to stand in lines for more than half of the time!!!! People at the end aren’t even getting scared because they are just so over it.
It was so awesome and fun.
The ghost boat was pretty fun, but the name is severely misleading you get on a boat for about 10 minutes and they drop you off at a dock where you walk for around an hour through basically a haunted woods area, where you stay bunched up with a huge group, the jump scares are terrible, and the actors are sub par either popping out like 15 seconds for one group right in front of you so you can't enjoy the scare or just shambling about acting scary. Probably won't go again but the boat ride was fun.
Great time
The best time and the sites was awesome
Great time for the family. They work hard to put a good show on. Attention to detail and good boat ride. My 8 year old might need therapy but the 13 year old had a great time and so did I. Brought the wife too and she unfortunately she made it out alive.
A good family event. Not too scary but enough to keep your attention
This was awesome riding a boat at night. No lights made it made this even more fun.
Nothing to say here but GO. Worth every penny
Was definitely worth the money. The kids even enjoyed it, even though one was scared silly. Haha.
I dont know about others give bad review because it not scary. Well to me it not scary at all but i came to the place so my family can experience something different and have fun .i didnt go there just for myself. They did got scare, had a lot of fun and enjoy the trip. Thank to the team members for their effort tried their best to do their job and bringing joy to me seeing my family got scared.
