Just super.... Should have done this before. What a great place to take the grand kids
Ugly to see the elephants and tigers in cages. It should be closed, not fair to animals
Lots of shows all day. The big top show was great for all ages. Food on site is pricey. I highly recommend checking out all the wagons.
I'd give it negative stars if I could. This is despicable and disturbing. Anyone who attends a live performance or who "rides an elephant" should be ashamed of themselves. Grow a heart.
Amazing, fun for all ages.
A must to go place in Baraboo. Adults and kids would like it. Incredible place to learn about Circus and its history. Great shows. Could have a better food, but it is okay.
Really fun place to visit. Lots of entertaining things to see and tons of information.
I deal for all ages to walk through the circus grounds and if you unable to walk they will drive you to your destination. Very friendly and very kind volunteers. Thank you
Absolutely fabulous. Plan on spending the entire day. No need to be worry about the weather the shows are all undercover. There is also a reasonably priced grill for lunch or pack your own picnic.
Fantastic experience getting to see the whole circus acts in one place and good exhibits of the history of Ringling Bros. Circus.
My daughter Abeeha Alam wants to visited there
Kids had a little fun.... I've had more fun at the dentist
We just happened upon this place camping at Devil's Lake. Absolutely awesome entertainment and exceptional artifacts of the Golden years of circus coming to town. It's truly a shame that our grandkids will not experience the circus setting up in their town. Spent many hours. Pleasantly surprised. Animals look very well cared for. Great sight to see three elephants performing. And seven beautiful tigers in a performing ring. Two of them white. Entertainment for all ages and quite a bargain. We will miss the circus parade this Saturday showing off those gorgeous wagons pulled by drafts.
Very fun! Good mix of kid friendly items & adult friendly exhibits!
OMG! This place is amazing! Well worth the visit!
It was great fun for the whole family
Just great , only problem is that it was way to hot. My bad, pick your days
Absolutely worth every penny and every minute! One of my favorite attractions in the country! Truly inspiring.
Well kept, great shows, interesting exhibits, highly recommended for children of all ages.
I cannot say enough good things about Circus World! The experience was amazing! The acts and performers were incredible, the museum was fascinating, and my family had a great time. I highly recommend for everyone of all ages.
What a fun place. A great piece of american history. So much to see. The staff was super friendly.
Cute museum, well curated. Plenty of history and also plenty for children.
Fantastic old circus artifacts
Great walking through the history of all aspects of circus world. Very interesting and great memories with photos and wonderful collection of circus wagons. Be sure to wear your walking shoes.
My son was fascinated with the elephants can't wait to go back.
Awesome and affordable!! I wish it wouldn't have been so hot - we definitely could have made a full day of it!!
My family and I loved Circus World! The animals all seemed in great health and really well taken care of. The show under the big top is not to be missed. We really could’ve spent all day there, but we only had a morning. It was one of the highlights of our trip!
Awesome, great history of the circus, plus top notch performances
The circus instruments show was great. Nothing but nonsense was a bit too slapstick for my very refined tastes
It was totally awesome we loved it.
This is our second time to Circus World and it is even bigger and better than 5 years ago. The shows are different every year. So visit often at the largest circus museum in the world.
Cone here every summer to see the circus shows and they’re always a little different to keep things fresh, museum does a great job of showing the history while staying colorful and interactive to keep the kids interested. Came here this October to attend the Renaissance festival and it was great, the perfect place to hold it. Will keep coming here for years to come definitely a favorite in the area!
Lots of fun. Great show and history.
One of America's last true Circus attractions. From young to elderly. The Finale resting place for the Circus train that use to travel from Wisconsin to Florida & than back. It no longer makes the trip any more. A must stop for children of all ages. Located in Barabo, Wisconsin.
A fun place for a family outing! The Big Top Show is so much fun for all ages!
Great show for the price. Watched the circus show a clown show and tiger show, plus the museum and outside play area for $50 (2 adults 1 6yo and 1 4yo).
What an amazing experience. If you have the chance to go i highly suggest it. The various shows; big top, tigers, comedy show and more are fantastic. Clean facilities, not bad walking, friendly staff members and lots of history. Keep up the great work!
Love the history of the circus awesome people work there!
It brought back so many great memories when my children were little..
Tried to call and ask if we needed to buy tickets ahead of time for the elephant watermelon party, and the lady was extremely rude on the phone. Our family came in from Texas specifically for this event, so we wanted to make sure it wasn't going to be sold out. When we got there 30 minutes early, the woman at the front desk with the schedule told us to go to the tiger show at 2:30, then to the car show, then the elephant watermelon party, and then the big top show. We went to the tiger show, left early (2:45) because we were worried we'd miss the elephants, got there a couple minutes late, and they were already finishing up the watermelon party. So we got an elephant ride and planned on seeing the car show since the FB event said it was going on until 3:30pm, but at 3:04pm as we turned around to walk towards the cars, 90% of the cars drove away. We missed so much! This place is very disorganized for being as well established as they are.
Only the greatest show on earth! Tons of authentic circus acts, as well as a wonderful museum that's very in depth, interactive, and interesting. A must stop in Baraboo.
Was awesome loved the circus wagons
Truly amazing for everyone who wants to know about Circus history. Recommend
The ren faire was great again this year! It didn't start raining/snowing until the end this time. We brought our new dog out and he did fantastic. I'm glad they allow pets
What a great museum, love all of the photos and the wagons.
Nice history of the circus. Live tigers and elephants
Great American cultural treasure located where a legendary circus family began!! The museum has a vast collection of historical photos, artifacts, and stories. The bonus is the knowledgable and friendly staff AND the performers who operate under the Big Top and elsewhere on the grounds. Fantastic entertainment for adults and children of all ages. Come one ...... come all!!
It is a fun place for kids of all ages. The performance season is from the week be memorial day till around labor day. They have elephants, tigers, and dogs along with other acts. They have the largest collection of antique circus wagons.
Very cool place! Lots of history. Live animals you can ride for $5. Really cool how it's an island. Cheaper to visit in the spring and fall
Best attraction in the Dells!!! The big-top show was phenomenal, and where else can you ride an elephant? A real, live elephant. In 20 years your kids probably aren’t going to remember riding the go-karts, but an elephant... now that is unforgettable. This was a high quality show, but so much more than that. There is so much to explore on the circus grounds. I didn’t know much about the circus before my visit, but during just a few hours there I became so fascinated by the history of it. There was also a Tiger show with 8 tigers (2 of them rare, white, albino tigers). You can tell these folks really care for their animals. After the big show the performers were humble enough to shake every hand and talk to every person on the way out. The price was cheap (there is also a $5 off coupon in most brochures). I can’t say enough good things about this place.
So much fun! While researching my trip to the Wisconsin Dells on TripAdvisor, I did not see this pop up, so I am glad we stayed in Baraboo and stumbled upon it. The park is very large and has so many interesting things to see. It is the winter grounds for the Ringling Brothers Circus so the existing buildings are still there along with a huge warehouse of restored carriages. They also have an area where you can watch old carriages being refurbished. In the visitor center, they have an extensive museum dedicated not only to the Ringling family but to the circus life in general. There are also numerous shows to attend as well. You can easily spend an entire day here.
If you have any interest in the circus, circus history, or just want to enjoy the spectacle that is circus, you owe it to yourself to visit this place. Take in a show, tour the buildings and grounds and be transported to the golden years of circus.
My daughter recently became interested in clowns. What better place to check out than Circus world. I went to circus world when I was a kid and it wasn’t much fun. Now, as an adult, I found it fascinating. Lots of reading, which isn’t much fun for kids, but the history of the Ringling brothers and all the other circuses that started in Wisconsin was really interesting. We were here in the off-season and it was a great time. We spent 2.5 hours here and still didn’t get to see everything. Lots of history. Lots of information on the logistics of moving a circus from town to town. I still can’t wrap my head around it. It’s hard to imagine what Baraboo would be like with the circus there all winter. Lots and lots of pictures. Thanks for the great time!
I wish we would have had more time. There were so many shows to watch and lots of great circus history.
There's an actual circus show with elephants! It was amazing!
Fun place, grandkids loved it, especially the tigers
The Circus World Museum is a great place to spend a day with your family. Family friendly activities included an educational show with tigers, a big top circus with several acts including elephants, a clown show, and of course the circus wagon museum.
I didn't knew that it is going to be that rich in history.
Amazing experience. Big top show was cool.
Great staff, awesome place, excellent time for the kids. A must if you are in baraboo.
Amazing local attraction. Great fun for kids and adults. Interesting place with plenty of historical and cultural value.
Nice history. The wagons are amazing.
One of my favorite places in Wisconsin. I love everything about the place, especially the Big Top Circus show. Cannot recommend enough.
It was a fun day. We just wanted to get away for a day. It was so much fun for the two of us.
I enjoyed this little circus.
Nice campgrounds? Not sure if I went here.
Went with my grandsons they had a great time. I enjoyed the wagons
Better than ever. I’ve been going to Circus World since I was a little girl, and this might have been one of my favorite visits ever. The Big Top performances were amazing. The ringmaster, Dave Saloutos, is absolutely wonderful. Incredibly talented and so friendly. Nothing will ever top Happy the Clown, but the new guys, Steve & Ryan, are a wonderfully hilarious duo for the new generation. All of the buildings have so many cool artifacts and so much info about circus history. I love this place.
Fun remembering the old time circus.
A great day trip as well as a place to bring kids. Circus World does an amazing job at keeping and preserving history!
The magical experience is all I can say. This experience is educational and exciting. You get to learn some circus history along with getting a big top show. Walk in and see the history then wander the grounds and see the performers practicing. Watch the lions act practicing their graceful show. Then my wife's favorite part of watching the elephants gracefully giving rides ( our son finally decided to take his first elephant ride this year ) and getting to know the trainers and see how much they care for these animals. We as a family have the joy of having this magical place in our town is amazing. Truthfully I'm not a huge circus guy but I do find it magical and the fact it brings my family so much joy warms my heart.
Its was fun! We had a great time. Used our Season opener passes and it was such a deal!! The big top show was so fun and interactive
Was the 60th anniversary and they paid a musical tribute to the 60’s. The opening act was dressed in the 60’s fashion. Enjoyed the tiger show. The trainer treated them with love and respect. The Big Top show reminded me of circuses in my youth. A must see if you are in the Dells area.
I always loved the circus and miss Ringling brothers this is a great way to relive the glory years and the kids love it as well.
The wagons and train cars were amazing to see. The kids loved the "Beauty or Beast" magic trick in the main building. They got to sit in a car and with mirrors and lights they were magically turned into a gorilla. The circus show was very good. I really wish they were able to do a bigger show. My son is really into the circus and and wants to see a real, big circus with tight rope walkers and horses and a human cannonball. The kids really loved seeing the elephants, acrobats, and clowns, though! The kids loved the merry-go-round since they don't have those at playgrounds anymore these days. My son was impressed the merry-go-round was free as opposed to the Carousel, elephant rides, and bounce house.
Brings me back to childhood
This is a remarkable collection of artifacs, articles, videos, pictures, circus equipment, buggies (historically preserved), wagons, instruments, biographies of the people who made history in circus history collected and displayed in several buildings and outdoors, in a very logical sequence! You can spend a couple hours to a whole day looking at the information and displays. Also, Dave and Larry did a flawless demonstration of the various types of musical organs and instruments ....we could have listened for hours. (We were told that Dave is an amazing ring master for the circus programs run during the summer months....) Worth a visit, for the whole family.... who was to know all of this in Baraboo, WI!!!
Great place I would go more of it were closer but you should take time when you do go as it is a very special place to go with your family History at it's finest! Love it!!!!
Lots of circus history. Mini big top show with excellent performers. Friendly staff. A huge collection of circus wagons.
So cool. The elephant rides were the best.
I'm so grateful this place exists to preserve the charm, ambition, and incredible scale of the circus. As a visitor note, much more of this was outside than I anticipated, so it's important to dress appropriately for the weather. We were there on a rainy day though, and it was no problem, even with little kids in tow!
Our family stopped here on our way to Bayfield, Wisconsin and this was one of the highlights of our vacation. We ALL loved this place! While there are many things to see, allow yourself time to catch the shows in the Big Top. The entertainers are amazing and stand outside to meet you outside the tent at the end of the show. A family friendly, memory building place that anyone can enjoy from ages 0-100+! We highly recommend it and if we are ever in the area, we would return again!
Have done a great job with their circus performances. Love the clowns and their separate show. Great way to re'visit history.
Very interesting, fun circus. Mostly focused on human acts. The acts done with animals were very humane and kind.
I don't have a bad thing to say about circus world! The performances were marvelous, the wagons were beautiful and the food was better than I expected! We'll definitely be back. Bring quarters to play the bandorgans!
Neat place! Very family-friendly. Could easily spend a half-day to a whole day roaming and exploring the grounds, including attending the shows which are offered at different times. Lots to do for all ages! Prices are pretty comparable to other amusement parks.
Nostalgic, historic, unique place to spend a leisurely day. There is no other museum & entertainment complex like it in the world! The collection of restored circus wagons are pieces of art and history from days gone by of circuses that will never return. This year marks their 60th anniversary and they have $5 days coming up during the last weekend in June & their downtown parade @July 20. The museum is meticulously displayed with detailed historic notes and artifacts. It was obviously created with passion by those who love the circus and all the hard work and logistics that went into building, transporting, training and entertaining all the animals and personnel for the show's of decades gone by. Enjoy!!
Tremendous great time. Fun for all. Great history. Awesome animals and circus wagons. A must see.
Neat place to take kids. The performance is the best part. Lots of restored circus wagons to look at indoors.
Very family friendly, a fun adventure for us.
Even though we went in the off season there was still plenty to see and slot of history about this circus to see.
Overall a great family friendly attraction! Definitely don't hesitate to visit.
Just the wagon building alone was worth the trip to me. Not to mention all of the other very cool things to see and do here!
I would recommend that you got no later than 2pm as to be able to see everything. Unfortunately, there website does not have the program, I am including a sample program with this review. I hope it helps. Enjoy it.
Never knew we would have had an experience like this in little Baraboo! Great time!
This is a great place not only educational but so much fun the artist were all amazing Tigers were spectacular, and of course everybody loves a good elephant ride! The staff was wonderful they and thank you for my pickle on a stick because that's just one of those things that you need to have
Such a cool spot to take your family! It's also free for military and their families, which is nice. There's a lot to see, and the performances are very impressive and entertaining. The wagon museum is a pleasant surprise as well. Definitely recommend this as a place to check out!
Great for kids, not too much clowns. Learn alot about circus and tigers.
It was wonderful to see my husbands great grandfather's picture (Gus Ringling )and learn so much about his Ringling Brothers family heritage .
Really brings back those childhood memories. We senior citizens really enjoyed it!
They still have elephants, it’s pretty cool to see them, however I can only hope they’ve had a good life. The clowns are hilarious and it’s pretty cool to see the history!
One of our favorite historical sites to visit had a great time with the grandkids
Awesome time! Very entertaining!
Fun place to visit...great museum pieces, plus beautiful live animals.
Awesome place to take the family and kids and it's only 10 minutes from Wisconsin Dells tons of fun if you love circus things
A Family place, really interesting and healthy environment. I enjoyed watching the show
This is a great place to go if you like circuses and circus history. We went a little too late and most of the attractions were shut down for fall. But that was my fault not going before Labor Day which can be a great experience.
Must see if you liked the circus as a kid.
Really cool experience. Take your kids and have a blast.
Enjoyed going back to a different era and the history of the circus. Needs a little updating.
The kids had so much fun so did I
Great place to take the family. Circus acts, artifacts and good food.
We attended the celebration of life of Frank R Braun under the hippodome.... He was smiling down as his friends and loved ones told wonderful TEARFUL AND HILARIOUS stories about his 60+ years of working at Circus World.... RIP FRANK!!!
Great place to spend time with your family and have fun. I've been going here every year since I was born and I'm 22 years old. This place never seems to born me. Entertainment for all ages!
There is so much stuff here. They do a good job mixing fun/info for kids and information for adults. It would be great to see some of the areas a little more organized and updated.
I really enjoyed! Rich history of the circus and the Ringling Brothers in particular. Brought my 8 and 14 year old kids and they were not as impressed. Too old for the circus thing. There is a lot too see - lots of land on both sides of the river. We did not watch the circus performance but we did see a performance of tigers and learned quite a bit about them and conservation efforts. Also, really enjoyed the cotton candy! Buildings and land well maintained, nice bathrooms. Parking can be a challenge as there is a small lot across the street and then it's street parking from there. Concession prices are quite reasonable.
Great shows I love looking at the wagons. They're very interesting and derailed.
Great day of family fun. Loved the educational tiger show and my daughter LOVED the kids time circus. This was our second year visiting and can't wait to come back!
We had a wonderful time. A must see. The show under the Big Top was amazing. Riding an elephant was a dream come true.
This place is awesome! The circus history and live performances are worth the trip.
Loved the tigers and the circus acts
I went here as a kid and now share it with my kids. It hasn't changed much since but they added live performances and some get the kids involved. Love this place. Small town with a circus problem.
Very nice. Lots to see.
Went there for a Wedding it was great
Love to visit at least once a year, along with going to the parade, both when it was in Milwaukee and now that is is Baraboo.
This museum tells a huge piece of All-American history!! American circus's hit their hey-day with the growth of America's railroads, and provided universal entertainment before radio, television, and (of-couse) the internet existed. This museum sits on the Ringling Brother's Circus's original winter quarters, and so the buildings and artifacts are 100% original. The museum's displays, wall-posted stories, and biographies are endless, with a great many more historic visual suppliments. The museum's great draw, however, are the practical applications of Circus entertainment, which include dazzling "Big Top" performances: with a Ring Master, clowns, jugglers, trapeze-artists, elephants, tigers, etc, etc, etc. Be prepared, to be amazed! Two or three visits might be required (over the years) to really start to soak it all in.
We did not have enough time this trip to visit. Did walk though the shop and outside fence. Looked very fun and will allow more time to see next time in area.
I'm not gonna lie this is just my opinion but, circus world gave me a very creepy vibe. Everything seems so run down and grungy. The park has broken rotting swings, the place is a dead zone (I went on a week day so that's probably why) The circus didn't last nearly as long for what we paid for. The statues in the tents seem like their about to break. For the amount of money paid for the events they should have more of an updated environment. Gave 4 star bc my daughter enjoyed the circus and the participants in the circus did phenomenal.
Wonderful place, much larger than anticipated. Kids loved it
Lots of history here of the circus in the United States. They have several live shows included with admission that are well done. You can really tell that the people who work here enjoy what they do. The performers were great, our 3yr old loved being part of the show. They have a lot of golf carts that help people move quickly around the area. The museum is pretty cool but our kids were getting tired and I didn't get a chance to read much. I hope this place stays open forever. People that are uptight about how these animals are treated don't care to listen or investigate what regulations a circus, zoo or other enclosures have to pass to stay in business - the owners care for these animals and I did not see any abuse or neglect.
I wish I could give less than one star. It is absolutely disgusting to know that you still force animals to do things so un natural simply for a paying audience. You do not own these animals they are not your property they are living beings that have emotions and can experience pain just like you can. You have said the animals are part of your family, I don’t know about anyone else but I don’t typically threaten my family with bullhooks nor abuse them with such. Even putting all the abuse aside, these animals do not want to preform the tricks you teach them, they do not want to live in cages or small enclosures, but they do not have a choice thanks to you. I hope the owner(s), trainers of this circus, and people paying for and attending this circus find in in their hearts one day to treat these animals better.
What a fun stop! Kids had just as much fun as the adults. Terrific show, cool exhibit. I'd definitely recommend.
You have to go here if you love the Circus ............
A interesting and fun attraction to visit. It offers attraction for all ages. Historical account of the circus told by artifacts and displays. The big top show had several different act bringing variety to the show. I m usually not amused by circus shows but I found myself entertained . There are elephants that were giving rides and were seen leading each other in a line following a worker through the park. They had a small petting zoo which was enjoyed by children. You can pay to have a carousel ride. Attractive and well.kept property. There is so much history to be founded here. With beautiful displays of restored circus wagons and costumes of circus members.
Lots of fun. Great history. Nice place to take the family.
Ren fair was going on. Small but fun.
Great place to visit with people of any age, lot of exhibits and live shows makes this an all day visit. The wagon department has to be my favorite part.
We take the kids here every year! It's always a great place to have some fun. They love the animals and the performers. They also enjoy seeing their uncle Heavy and all the wagons!
Very fun, I love circus stuff
It’s a great place for all ages.
So much fun, Thank you all for a great day,
Superb walk through history
Circus is SLAVERY!!! That's why circus with animals tickets are always way cheaper than any human show with acrobats - because animals are slaves, you don't have to pay them, just break their spirit and hurt them till they perform and do what you want. Their life is sad and heartbreaking, they are living beings that have emotions and can experience pain just like you can. It is absolutely disgusting to know that you still force animals to do things so unnatural simply for a paying audience. Even putting all the abuse aside, these animals do not want to preform the tricks you teach them, they do not want to live in cages or small enclosures, but they do not have a choice thanks to you.
We were only there for a hour but my son and I loved it! We're planning a trip to visit again.
An experience for all ages and a very good circus
What a wonderful place, we got there shortly after they opened and the activities are spread apart perfectly so that you are always seeing something, getting a chance to sit for a little bit and all the while be entertained and educated on everything circus, we had a fantastic time, thank you
Fun place for people of all ages. They change the shows every year so you will see something different every year you come to Baraboo
Learned a lot and great sites.
This place is as close as you get to a real circus today with elephants, tigers and other acts to watch and enjoy. Great family entertainment. You can also ride the elephants. The refurbished circus trailers and wagons are a must see. Other areas showcase the old performance costumes and provide a great source of historical information about circuses. I plan on returning again when possible.
Great place to spend a day with young kids.
Lions, Tigers, and Bears? Tall, Short, and Funny looking Folks Welcome! Great place to learn about the history of the circus, some animals on site during warmer months, and a several museums to look through, just fantastic place to take the whole family!
The circus will always be a great place to take children. For just under $20/adult tickets, there are quite a number of attractionsntjat the kiddos loved! A few highlights were the 8 tigers, 3 elephants (with rides), and the big top show. The adults enjoyed the shaded sitting area for most of the attractions as well as the huge amount of historical facts throughout the museum. Don't forget to go in up and take a look at all the restored circus wagons in the climate-controlled buildings! It's a great way to see more history while cooling down and escaping the sun!
Very family friendly and very reasonably priced. For a family of 6 under $70 for the whole day !!!! Elephants were my favorite extremely well trained and you can tell they are loved and cared for!!!
It was incredible! I hadn't been there for over 20 years. That's way too long. They have made it so much better since then. The tiger show was awesome and I loved all of the cool buildings, displays and overall historical experience. I definitely would like to come back in the near future.
We had a fun family day at Circus World. I don't consider myself a huge Circus person, but I was amazed at the big top show. My SO enjoyed the museum displays immensely, and our daughter liked it all. She did complain that the Big Top show was shorter than the circus she went to a few months back, and it wasn't very long, but I thought it was just right as far as length. This year the theme was the 60's, and the music and costumes reflected this well. The acts were all great, and our favorites included the elephants, the acrobats and the "wheel guy" for lack of a better term.
We had a great time. Had 4 grandkids and 2 nephews with us. Spent the morning there. About 3 hours. The staff was helpful and friendly.
The restored wagons are beautiful. The shows that are included are very entertaining.
If you like circus this is the best place for you. There are 4+ shows. You need a whole day to see this place. There are animal shows lot of restored art. Only thing is there is no cellphone signals anywhere. Overall the details are excellent, I loved the musical style experience.
