Great place to bring young kids
Awesome, very cool FREE fun, pack and picnic and play all day or waste a little free time. Come and go as u please. Wish i found this place sooner.
Great place for kids. Only thing I didn't like is many things we aren't allowed to touch but are for volunteers. Kids(not just mine) seeing the fun things a field trip was having but they weren't allowed to do the areas even after the students moved on.
Adorable. Magical. Delightful place for children.
Well worth the drive. Absolutely beautiful
The whole experience is amazing. The gardens are beautiful, and there are so many fun things for kids and adults to interact with. I love the spots you can stop and read books at, especially the couch that's made out of dirt and grass!
Such a fun place to go with your family. Magical for the kids and delightful for the parents. We come here at least once a summer.
Love how amazing the place is great for young kids
Even in late fall, there is so much for the little ones to see and do. Excellent place for little ones and grownups that act like little ones.
I love taking the kids there.. they can run and play and so many things for them to do and even learn to tie there shoes..
Beautiful place! Would like to go back when the weather is better! The volunteers were all great! Some were retired school teachers! A lot for your children to see, do, and learn!
Great place! Entry is free but donations are welcomed. I cannot tell you how incredible this place is. It's absolutely gorgeous. So whimsical and magical. Based on all your favorite children's books. The more you look, the more details you catch.
Really neat place!!! Cool lights!! Great entertainment!!!
This is a really neat place. It's not necessarily a garden, but it's a landscaped adventure through different areas that are designed based off of children's books. They do have lots of plants, and it is surrounded by woods. It's a very pretty and neat place, plus there are a ton of interactive features and areas for young kids. It gets pretty busy so be prepared to move around people. Also you can bring a stroller (as we did) but you have to navigate around people and some tough terrain.
Absolutely beautiful place with literary themed gardens to match your favorite childhood book. Helpful staff, gift store, hands in activities for children and adults. A koi pond, soft handicap accessible paths, secret nooks and hidden cottages all make this a fabulous place.
We just moved out here to Sheboygan and it has become one of my sons favorite spots. Seeing some of his favorite books ccme to life is such a fun experience.
First time there and loved it. Grandson was enjoying so much, besides us adults. Wish the gift shop had more stuff to buy. Did find a few things but bigger would of been nicer. Wish everyone donated when they come through. Beautiful place. Going back.
It was a fun family event and I really enjoyed it. Could have a few more benches, sitting area for adults to enjoy a lunch with their kids but I understand the wanting to eliminate trash.
This is a hidden gem that we happened to find on a trip. It is just really well done. There is a donation to get in that is well worth it. We will be back.
Amazing.... And FREE!!!
This is the most wonderful place for moms dads Grandma's whoever take your children and you will enjoy it to its all about the stories that you read to the children fabulous fabulous place no charge but donations are welcomed
Beautiful even on a gloomy day!
Lovely place to take 7,6 and 3 year olds. What a well thought out wonderland for kids and adults! Enjoyable for everyone!

Was super cute. Got really crowded and could use a second bathroom...the kids had a blast though.
Absolutely beautiful and the little gift shop is so reasonable in price I got the cutest bird house
Fun place take the kids at to enjoy!
Bookworm Gardens is an amazing place to take the little ones to. The garden is beautiful and there is a large collection of interactive displays based on favorite children's books. There is so much to do here and there is no admission charged. There is a donation box by the entrance if care help support the upkeep of the facility.
This is such delightful and unique place. Kids of all ages will be enchanted by the gardens.
Always changing. Always wonderful.
Magical place!
This might be scary but I’ve been and it ain’t
Very nice
This is a regular destination for our family. Great way for kids to burn off some energy and learn a thing or two! Amazing garden plantings.
Went to the happily haunted. It was nice but it says no strollers and there were seval people with them. It was way to congested to enjoy. The concession stand was horrible. Waited for ever for our stuff
This was a great afternoon walk getting outside and seeing all the fun books told through plants and nature. Was great with our 15 month old
When it was first being built, the impression was that it was a project by people with too much money and too much time on their hands. It was a yuppie vision of what nature should look like. They altered a fine wildlife area and built, what can best be described as, a whimsical wonderland. Stone dinosaur, whirling colorful things, pathways through whimsy are waiting to entertain families with kids who like "safe" nature. I wasn't overly thrilled about the habitat destruction to build the place. But I have to bury the curmudgeon side of me and admit that the place is cute; and kids seem to love it. Just because I like my nature undeveloped and dangerous, doesn't mean there aren't people out there who love this type of place. It is family friendly for those who have young children. For that I give it an extra star. It's just not my cup of tea
Truly a wonderful place to visit. We enjoyed the books paired with the gardens, and it felt good to get out and walk after a long car ride. It was absolutely beautiful!
A beautiful botanical garden that keeps kids interested. Definitely a must stop when in Sheboygan.
Beautiful and very busy place! Younger kids had fun, beautiful gardens. Would highly encourage a visit!
Great for young kids! Lots to do and see
This is a wonderful place for kids and adults. The gardens are well kept up. The many different areas are well thought out and very colorful.
Great place for kids of all ages.
Oh my goodness, this place is so cute! We were passing through the area for work and decided to stop. This is a great place for pictures.
My child loves this place
Very nice beach. Perfect for a family picnic
Amazing for kids and a walk in the park and nice for beautiful pictures
Bookworm Garden is a great place to spend a couple of hours with the grandchildren. Nice paths, several hands on activities, and a variety of flower, trees and bushes. Who doesn't love the Magic School bus?
full of fantasy, interesting depictions of children's literature, and exciting exploration- toddler, 8 year old, mom, and grandma all had a great time!
We had a wonderful time at these beautiful gardens. The paths lead you to all sorts of incredible themed areas, a farm, woodlands, cottages, a waterwall with wonderful musical creations, andca beautiful koi pond. We spent hours here and loved every minute. You have to see it for your self to truly take it all in. We will definitely return when we are in the area again!
Great for the kids to play or a nice walk to enjoy the scenery definitely recommended
Great place for kids of all ages!!
It is an incredible place to visit with small children. Very child friendly.
Fantastic place that everyone should experience. We will definitely be back again.
Such a great place. Great for kids. Such a great variety of things to do. And free!
Great place to visit with the kids..ages 6-13.
Visited for the first time this year. The new expansions are beautiful and the bridge is a work of art itself!!
The kids (6, 4 & 2) absolutely loved our time here.
What a FUN place for kids and grownups! There's something fun to look at and explore around every corner. Such much thought put into every design! Lots of interactive things to do. We visited from out of town- what a treasure to have in your community!
Amazing gardens and many fun things to do for kids. Free to get in, but you really should consider making a donation to help keep this place going.
Excellent, except only one small restroom.
Great place for adults and kids. Shaded, lots of attractions for interaction. Would reccomend.
This is such a charming and beautiful place for kids and adults to enjoy. Well kept grounds with many beautiful plants, trees, and themed play areas for children. Definitely highly recommend for anyone looking to spend a day in nature and reconnect with their inner child.
Beautiful and super cute place to take the kids. Lots of hands on activity for the kids to do, look and explore around. This place is free and absolutely fun for all ages.
This place is AWESOME! It is beautifully landscaped and the stories they are depicting come to life in an awesome way that truly engages both kids and adults alike. Will definitely visit again.
Geat for kids .. we all had fun there
Not a large garden but very nice. They put in several new items this year. Designed to appeal to younger children. Many books and places to sit and read the stories to children. Stories match area of garden. Free admission. Expect to spend at least an hour or more.
Nice place for children and grandchildren. Clean and inviting. Odd that the staff fusses over children and adults playing Pokemon there. Why is playing family friendly game in the lot and nearby so upsetting to the staff? Wholesome activity and friendly environment otherwise.
It is very nice there. It would be nice if they changed things up once in awhile so it is not the same thing over and over.
Amazingly beautiful, fun and interesting!
Always a nice place for free and kids always have a great time! And they add something new every year!
Very fun place for the kids!! Tons of beautiful flowers to see.
This was a beautiful place to take your children. It is free admission, which was nice. There was so much to see and so many fun activities for children of all ages. I definitely recommend going to this place if you are close to the area!
Fun for all ages.
Nice storybook themed garden plots. Great for children and adults alike. You can get through in under an hour, or be there for hours. It all depends on how much time you want to take to view!
Always a great time with the kids!
The atmosphere is great for learning, taking more scenic pictures, and being emersed in the world of books. Hours of fun in reading and seeing things come to life from the books.
Really cool hidden gem in Sheboygan
One Of Sheboygan's Best Kept Secret Places
My toddler loved it
What a beautiful garden! Such a great place to visit with kids, family, friends, really anyone! The garden is absolutely gorgeous, and love that it's themed and tied to books. You could spend at minimum an hour here, all the way to a day depending on how many books and activities you do. Staff is hardworking, and very friendly. A great way to get kids excited about reading!
The Bookworm Gardens were inventive and imaginative. Lots of things for little kids to do, touch and even smell. Suggested donation of $5 is well worth it.
Awesome place for anyone, young or old.
This is just the greatest place for children and adults. So happy to have it in our city. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO.
Loved this place! Educational and a kids dream land. Super cute houses and gorgeous garden areas.
Beautiful gardens that are geared to kids. Even as a adult it was impressive and very whimsical! Highly recommend for a outing with children of all ages. Garden grounds were well maintained and very imaginative!

Beautiful place
TOO MANY SPIDERS!
My kids had fun here. It's bigger than I thought it would be. Set up is very cute.
Amazing place of fun and adevnture for kids. A great way to spend the day. Plenty to keep the kids entertained.
We had a great time with the grandkids at the Holloween open house. They do a great job every year, word is spreading and it can get crowded. Nice for the little ones as it's more fun than scary.
So well done, nice little walk with my kids 5 years old and 2 years old, they did not want to leave.
The summer solstice event was awesome! We had a great time doing the wine scavenger hunt! Then we had some food and listened to the whiskey Belles and enjoyed their set so much we talked to them afterwards and it was just a lovely evening!
I absolutely LOVED our visit. A really wonderful experience for all ages.
I love to take my kids here. They always have a wonderful time here. They do an awesome job on the upkeep. So many neat sculptures
Such a wonderful place to take your children to explore!
This is a magical place for children to spend an afternoon. The various flowers and plants are beautiful too.
Good for a short break
Fun for adults too. Love visiting here. You can't take pets along but that is my only complaint.
What a place! Donations only. Spent 2.5 hours here with 2 gkids. Tons of stuff to look at. Read books on the spot about the scenery. Paths and paths, the kids didn't know which way to go. It was fun to watch. And if you love flowers and plants there is a huge amount to look at.
Absolutely beautiful and plenty of things to look at and go into to keep my 3 year olds entertained. My son said he thought he was dreaming, it is so wonderfully done. Beautiful flowers and props tie to childrens story books. Small structures and playhouse type things for kids to go into. Educational items such as composting area and signs with flower names. Stream with Koi pond. Kids music area with xylophone. I can not see why anyone would give this place anything less than 5 stars, especially being a donation only attraction. Will be back and will sign up and donate to be members. What a wonderful asset to the community. Only con is a smaller bathroom, 2 or 3 stalls I believe.
Amazing place and well worth the time. No fee to enter but a small donation
Awesome place to take the kids. Good way to renew their interest in reading. Grounds are beautiful in the summer--Lots of flowers and butterflies.
This place is amazing! Whimsical colorful, adventurous, beauty to inspire imagination for young and old.
Most excellent place to stroll through. Your kids will love the displays based on children's books. There are some great activities for kids to do also. Bring a picnic, you won't regret it. Will definitely be back.
This place is incredible. Perfect place to take kids. Well maintained and lots to do!
This is a beautiful little garden with so many interactive little houses and scenes from children's story books. Go inside Whinny the Pooh's house. Visit a Scottish cottage and a miniature version of Whistling Straights. Read a book or listen to a story in one of the many accessable garden glens. Make music or pretend to be a pioneer. This place has so much for children to do and plenty for adults to admire.
What a delightful place. Of course you will be sharing the space with many children.
Fun place to visit and nourish the soul for adults, children, and families. No phones or computers needed.
So beautiful and special. Just absolutely wonderful
Love the gardens. It's a great place to go with kids, on a date, or just by yourself for some thoughtful musing.
Great place for kids to be and read. So many exhibits. And activities to do. I highly recommend bookworm gardens to all families.
Absolutely gorgeous and plenty of fun things to do super fun for the kids, and full of great photo opportunities
Easy to navigate. Pathways are stroller and wheelchair accessible. Donations accepted but not required. Beautiful gardens with lots of stuff for children to explore.
This is a great place for young children to visit! There are weather-proofed books in little hidden compartments all through the garden, plenty of shade, plenty of places to sit and read, and so many interactive book themed play areas. Our kids had fun!
It is absolutely beautiful.
Beautiful and would be a great place to take my kid. My only concern is making sure he can't get away from me while I'm there
I love that place
Wife and I had a great time. Fun place to go for adults and kids.
What a great place to study and relax. A new walkway bridge has been put in place to traverse the ravine and should be open for use mid April, 2019. Future plans entail a roof and possibly side enclosures.
Amazing place for a variety of ages and with so many photo opportunities. The time flew by and before we were able to visit the gift store they were closing. I cannot wait to go again!
Very neat place, children & adults can appreciate it!
Great concept. Fun garden. Beautiful flowers and plants.
A MUST stop for anyone who comes to Sheboygan with kids in tow. And it's FREE!
Gardens are beautiful. Love the new bridge so now you can walk in a circle. People are so friendly.
Beautiful place! It's small, but well designed. Very well maintained, nothing rickety. Very child friendly with many places to play. I don't have kids, but I found a quiet place to paint and listen to them play.
Totally charmed my bookworm wife and me! Low key, rustic, and kid-friendly. Been a long time since I was a kid but seeing Charlotte and her 'Some Pig' web took me all the way back to then. I especially loved the can't-go-wrong xylophones.
Delightfully whimsical surprise where you'd least expect it. Large botanical garden with lovingly created details that keep young and old entertained. Great for small children, adults, and seniors.
We are not from the area, but while visiting family in sheboygan they took us to this amazing place. Everyone from the oldest to the youngest loves this place. It is magical.
Driving through Sheboygan with our 17 month old granddaughter and stopped by the Garden on a recommendation from our waitress. What a gem! Our granddaughter loved it. Wish we had gotten there earlier. The museum had already closed. Hope to make it back some day!
Great place for a stroll with kids lots to see and explore,it's not always lit like this, it's a special trick or treat night.
Fairy festival was cool for our little girls to experience hope they do it again.
Spent the afternoon there Wednesday, July 31st with family. Beautiful weather and surroundings. Love it here.
Amazing gardens! Bookworm Garden is so creative and beautiful. There's plenty for kids to interact with, fun stories, and just a great space overall. Perfect for all ages, would definitely recommend a visit if you're anywhere nearby.
It was such a fun experience! They have so many things to look at and so many things to do there. The great part about it is it’s free! And you can go there with your family wherever you’d like too
Incredibly well done! I had as much fun as my kids exploring all the scenes!
Bookworm gardens is a magical place to take kids and kids at heart! They are never too old to wash Walter! Bring a picnic lunch they have a beautiful and whimsical lunch area. They have wonderful events. Not to mention it is free! Truely be a hidden jem!
My kids adore this outdoor masterpiece of children's literature come-to-life. It's free (donations welcomed) and open generously during the summer months. It takes an hour or so to appreciate the exhibits but plan on spending as much time as your kids desire.
Beautiful flowers, unique displays, fun for the whole family
Really neat place for kids of all ages. We regretted not bringing a picnic lunch and staying longer. A lot of the story book themes were a bit beyond our 4 year old, but she still had a great time just exploring everything. Her favorite was building a fairy house.
Great place for family's and the cost it's free.
Wonderful place for families and older folks too! Love the plants and how the gardens are arranged.
Blast of fun art and books! What could be better?
Whoever thought of this idea it is fantastic! Unbelievable gardens and references to books and all the work put into it, it's amazing .
Absolutely amazing! I can't believe this place is free!!! The plantings are so well executed. My hats off to those who did the design planning and everyone who donated to make it possible. My only wish would be more options at the gift shop of Bookworm Garden items.
Bookworm Gardens is a unique, beautiful and enchanting experience.
When I die I want to be buried here. Seriously. Turn me into mulch and scatter me everywhere. This place is absolute heaven!!
Great place to see with the kids!
Beautiful place with hours of entertainment. My kids and I had a great time
Bookworm Gardens is a magical, whimsical place for both children and adults.
Spectacular hidden gem in Sheboygan! This garden is perfect for all ages and I love taking my grandchildren. The gardens are amazing in themselves, but visits to the homes of the Three Little Pigs, Pooh's house, and Little House in the Big Woods (just to name a few of the many stories featured) make classic stories come alive. Explore Farmer McGregor's garden and sit in the Three Bears' chairs. This is learning at its best!
