Beautiful. Falls are right there, but nice, easy hiking trails, too.
Liked everything except for close to the highway and road noisy at night.
I absolutely love this state park! The trail through the trees is pretty easy going and the waterfalls are just lovely. There is a covered bridge over the river, as well, that is simply picturesque.
Great place to bring my 80 year old dad for a simple bbq and to let him walk in nature...or to have grad photos done!
Almost no hike to falls. Can swim in several spots and go under falls.
We love the park kids too
Great nature hike
I thought the water would be really high and crushing loudly but it wasn't. Still beautiful and peaceful park. Great hiking trails and large campsites.
Worth every cent
My favorite waterfall in Wisconsin.
Probably my favorite location of our 7 day tour visiting up north in WI and Duluth. The waterfalls were just gorgeous and the smell and feel of the hike touring all of the falls was superb and so memorable. My favorite memory over Bayfield and Ashland counties.
Great river walking trails! The several falls are so beautiful!
Very clean. Nice picnic area. And nice walk around the falls.
Many falls to explore in a serene setting
Just a great place to visit and explore.
Awesome state park great family fun
We just spent the morning hiking around a bit. Loved the falls. Paths are easy hiking. At least the ones we were on. Plenty of places to picnic. We would love to go camping here sometime.
Love the sound of rushing waters.
Not much but still ok to look at..
Good little hiking spot to stretch the legs
Beautiful root beer colored falls.
Easy to navigate even with a baby on your back!
Campground is more rustic and spacious sites. Of course the scenery is amazing. No showers or electric. It's great!
Beautiful state park, off the beaten path. Waterfall after waterfall after waterfall. Well worth the trip - and the swim under the falls!
Breathtaking and stunning. What more could you want? Awestruck, amazed what else can I say? Go, what are you waiting for?
Unexpectedly nice waterfalls... My phone camera died before we found the real falls...
Listen to the song of the waterfalls and refresh your soul as you adjust to the cold clear water. Swim around and you'll think of this place the whole year till you can come back. Beautiful.
Beautiful this time of year! Wish the trails hadn't flooded and washed out last year would have loved to hike more!
The falls are great. And the camp sites are big
Loved it! Beautiful place to visit with great hiking trails and scenic views.
Beautiful park with well-maintained trails. The river and falls are quite spectacular, and with decent tree coverage so you stay cool.
Clean friendly nice trails water falls
Well worth the price of admission
Amazing, must see! Small fee.
Great park! Falls are not high. It is relaxing to sit by the water and enjoy the weather.
Very Beautiful on a fall day!
Beautiful park!
I visited not expecting much since I knew that they had just a 0.25 mile loop for the three falls. Definitely exceeded all expectations. The trail wove through the small island and offered fantastic views and angles of the three falls.
Beautiful. Walk it all, you won't be sorry.
Just went there on 3/23/19 and the falls were running wild with winter melt. Still some ice over the river banks too. Very quaint park with many falls and fun hiking trails. There is a quarry if you feel like taking a longer hike and the stone from here was used to build the Fairlawn Mansion in Superior. They had built a railroad spur to it to transport the stone. The quarry was full of water and not very large, but the history was interesting to learn about. We did the quarry hike previously in the summer months as the snow cover was still on the trails this last trip.
This park is a gem. The hiking trails are great and love all the reading of the history of the land. Definitely worth a day of hiking.
So many waterfalls in such a small area! Well worth exploring.
Absolutely love this place! Easy hiking to see lots of waterfalls. Camping is available.
An amazing place, with numerous falls, rock formations, and gorgeous trails and river. Plenty of picnic spots. A must see Wisconsin State Park Gem!
If you need to get a fix of awesome waterfalls, this is your place. Make it part of a day of waterfall viewing by hitting Pattison State Park as well. The multiple cascades of Amnicon Falls are breathtaking, especially at high flows like we experienced this past October. The light filtering through the trees and mist from the falls made for magical conditions. There are great hiking trails along the river and waterfalls, quaint footbridges that crisscross it all, and ample parking on either side of the river to access the trails. You can climb up and down plenty of rock walls and follow trails that will take you all the way to the north end of the park.
Great place to get a fresh dose or nature. We walked a the trails and enjoyed ourselfs for around 2 hours. Glad I went
Gorgeous place to hike and there is water access, however, use caution when in and around the falls.
Beautiful landscape and waterfall. My family and I enjoyed the trails too. If your looking to steal a piece of inner peace and tranquility....you must put this place on your list of places to see.
My favorite place for sure!
Beautiful falls, the only downside was there were not a lot of trails that went farther down the river. Also if you plan to picnic, make sure to bring a garbage bag. There is no place to throw trash.
Beautiful park. Easy trails for hiking. Lots of waterfalls to see.
Beautiful place love the falls
Beautiful park with nice walking trails and great swimming holes. Cheap daily park passes as well.
A great place to spend the day. Pack a picnic, walk the trails, listen to the falls, take some photos.
Love this place, it's so easy to walk around and explore without rails and fences holding you back.
Absolutely beautiful can't wait to come back swimming
Great outdoors trail n hike
Beautiful park
Cool place to check out
Actually love this place so beautiful. If you're in the area it's a must-see.
Curvy roads, steep hills , little tucked away towns and lots of green. Everywhere you look beautiful green acreage.
Great family excursion near Duluth- Superior. Nice hikes, pretty waterfalls and river. Great outdoors event for an afternoon.
Nice beautiful park to visit.
Beautiful gem, it’s definitely a waterfall galore.
Find yourself here. Worth the stop ❤
The camp ground is very nice, but there is a female ranger looking for any reason to give you a ticket. I received a ticket this afternoon for not having my park sticker stuck to my windshield, it was in clear view in the lower left corner but apparently it was not good enough. This is the 3rd time we have stayed here, no problems until this weekend. My son in law received a fine this morning for driving his truck with me my wife and 3 grandchildren sitting in the bed of the truck. We were go 10 miles an hour and went less then a quarter of a mile within the state park. Now he will have to return for court to fight it.
One of Wisconsin’s finest state parks, there are numerous waterfalls and rapids in the park - all surrounded by towering pines for a true “up north” experience.
It was nice that the campground was so close to the falls.
This place is great, can get close up to falls,
Fun and easy hiking. The waterfalls fun just watch out for the rocks Will tear your feet up.
Great place to do a hike and picnic
What a wonderful surprise. We went to hike not knowing much about the park, just that there were falls. It was a good hike some roots and rocks, but doable if you watch your feet. We met people swimming in some of the pools above some of the falls. A great day hike.
Beautiful, clean, and fun to explore. Covered bridge design is interesting too.
If ever in area incredible site of nature breathtaking a must see
It's simply amazing.i am really shocked that it's Soo under the radar. The falls are really ferocious and almost feel similar to northern Minnesota falls without the people. I would highly recommend stopping by on your way to bayfield or other.
This has to be one of Wisconsin's most beautiful parks in the state!
Beautiful, picturesque. Great place to take pictures of the family or friends. We swam under the waterfall. Hike the trail by the falls. Very refreshing! Wished we had given more time in our schedule for our trip there!
This amazing little state park packs a lot of scenery (and a covered bridge) into a small area. I love all the conifers.
One of the most beautiful parks I've ever been to and I've been to hundreds. Valley setting, deep forest, and clear shallow creek running through. You might see a black bear or deer here!!! Well groomed foot or bike path. Must see if in area!!
Beautiful wooded area with several different falls total.
It was ok. The parking fee just to get into the campground is kinda ridiclious. Office is hidden. Garbage is located way in the front completely away from campers. There's no dumping station or water. Out houses were just meh. Loved the falls but won't make a return trip to camp.
Nice walking path and excellent views. Very peaceful.
So Cool! I had a lovely adventure with myself getting somewhat lost in this park. Very beautiful. Lots of trees and waterfalls.
Small beautiful park with easily accessible natural pools and waterfalls.
It was interesting and very nice to go very little hiking done.
I could understand visiting this park if you lived in town (or nearby) but there really wasn't much in the way of hiking trails here! The official hiking trail loop is barely over a mile long. I probably should have done my research before stopping by. Also, the falls weren't very impressive in August, but that was after it had been dry for several weeks. Also, this place was surprisingly popular on a weekday in the summer, despite it's small size.
Wow! What a fun day with my family exploring the falls and all the nooks and crannies. Bring water shoes, and a change of clothes. Prepare for a great day of exploring!
A great park to hike through.
Its gorgeous here. No showers, but its a small clean campground.
I love state parks.
There is a full hiking trail that even has an information packet to read as you go. The falls are pretty and very fun to swim in. Hiking is a bit rough, but good for family nonetheless.
Adventurous and gorgeous scenery!! The Rangers were super friendly and helpful!
Its an amazing place to take a cruise
Very beautiful with lots of trails and waterfalls everywhere!
Gorgeous! Campsites right across the trail from the falls, good walking trails, and the park is super clean
Beautiful scenery, well groomed trails, clean
Waterfalls and rapids nice quiet country setting lots friendly people dogs welcome and they love it too
Great place to visit.
This park can be seen in one day. We had never tasted Thimble berries before, so that was a treat. We really enjoyed all of the waterfalls and playing in the river.
Nice trails, lots of places to explore in your own. Selfie station.
Great place for some easy hiking with the family.
Very scenic park. Nice water falls, and the covered bridge over the Amnicon River is really neat. The staff at the park is very knowledgeable and friendly.
The Falls are really beautiful. It's especially interesting when there's been Heavy Rain earlier in the week before you go. Going in the peak fall season is also very beautiful
Great place to hike and camp. Also cheap
What a gorgeous state park! Amnicon Falls is a smaller state park, no flush toilets or showers and just over 30 campsites. Most sites are wooded, with room between neighbors. Very quiet and peaceful, although you can hear the highway traffic in the background which was the only downfall. We hiked all 3 miles of trails in one day, and enjoyed the many waterfalls big and small. Pattison State Park is not far away, so we spent a day there hiking as well. Also nearby are many beautiful natural beaches on Lake Superior. So many places to explore in the park and nearby, we will definitely be back!
Scenically great but the noise from the trains and the highway really take away from the beauty
What an amazing place. If you are anywhere near here, take the time to stop. You can literally park next to some of the falls. Definitely make a trip in the fall colors time.
This place is awesome. Take your time and walk slow. You might just walk upon a deer or two.
A beautiful park to hike around, take pictures, and stack stones!
Beautiful scenery definitely worth the visit!!!
A gem of Wisconsin state parks. Without electric, showers or flush toilets, the campground is low key and rarely crowded. However the constant din of noise from nearby highways detracts from the experience. Nice trails too.
A hidden gem! I was awed by the beauty here. We have been getting a lot of rain lately so the falls were crazy! Definitely worth the trip from Minneapolis MN.
Gorgeous sandstone with beautiful trees and river with several areas of small rapids/falls. Good for about an hour of sightseeing.
Loved it, absolutely beautiful
Amnicon Falls is a small State Park but gets 5 stars for the beautiful geology and many waterfalls. There are only a few miles of trails but they bring you to many beautiful overlooks. There are several parking lots but very limited space for large RVs. Campground has no electric sites or dump station. Kids love the waterfalls, rock climbing, the covered bridge, and throwing stones into the Rapids.
Waterfalls galore and the fall colors were incredible! A 4 hour drive and it's my new favorite place!
Beautiful state park with so much to see and do, simply breathe taking late fall..The falls were beautiful and serene good enjoy it, this park also offers ski trails
Great way to spend time outside with family! Absolutely beautiful!
Amazing park! So beautiful!
Absolutely beautiful park! We were there early morning and loved every bit of our hike. The trails run right along the water and there are some amazing picture spots as well as boulders that will let you walk out into the water without getting wet!
Really good camping. Beautiful falls.
This park is awesome. The waterfalls are all beautiful (and the water is FAST moving--so be careful) the campsites actually ha e shade now, compared to when we visited several years ago. We spent a couple hours hiking around and just watching the magnificent power of water on a beautiful day.
Beautiful park well maintained and clean.
Numerous hikes to see falls and surrounding areas. Dog friendly. Beautiful!
Several waterfalls. Each just as beautiful as the last. Easy hiking. Lots of places to picnic. We LOVE it here.
Amazing Beautiful Waterfalls, bring a bathing suit, or cross country skiing gear depending on the season
Short walk to a number of great waterfalls. Careful with younger kids - there are few railings along the water.
One of the best water falls we visited. It is very beautiful.
All the falls were absolutely beautiful. I would love to go back some day. The price was ridiculous though. We were charged extra because we are from out of state.
A wonderful State Park in the North Woods of Wisconsin. The park has two main trail areas with one following the lower Falls/Amnicon River and the other following along the falls. Both of the trails are easy hikes, and both have fantastic with rock formations alowing hikers to get up close and personal with the river. The star of the park is the 2 level falls. The trail keeps you close to falls, with access to the rock that the water flows over. We expected or visit to be relatively quick (1 1/2 to 2 hours) but ended spending 3 hours + as we continued explore the park and trails. This State Park is a definite must visit if you are in the Superior/Ashland are of the state.
Lovely place to swim, splash, hike and camp!
Will definitely be back!
Awesome park!!! DO NOT MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY!!! Multiple parking areas along the interior road, public restroom available with multiple small and large picnic area available scattered throughout. Trail system winds throughout the park following the falls and rock formations. SAFE for kids to walk as long as they're kept within shouting distance, plenty of wading areas and a couple swimming spots are available too. Pet friendly as long as they're leashed!
its a very lovely piece of Wisconsin everyone should check out at least once in their lives. depending on the weather and amount of water and rainfall will determine how big or little the waterfalls are. some of them "Come and go"
Fun family day
One of Wisconsin's prettiest state parks Easy access to the river and falls. Great place to wade in the river.
This is one of the simplest, prettiest places in Wisconsin. There are a number of small waterfalls as the river splits and rejoins to form an island. There is a nice bridge to the island and a beautiful pine forest with paths along the river. Kids can play in a shallow area below the falls, near the main bridge and there is a nice campground in the park. This is one of my favorite places, any time of year.
What a beautiful park.
Beautiful scenery! The rangers and guests keep it clean. Lots of picnic and rest areas.
Beautiful park to go see when in the area
A great place to explore and witness the power of water.
Absolutely beautiful and a must see enjoy a break and the scenery take a hike . Check for ticks
Easy to travel walking paths and beautiful sights at every turn!
There is a very rude and ticket happy Ranger that ticketed 4 people during our stay. She was rude and did not give anyone a break nor was she interested in listening to the people. The staff at the office were also frustrated by the complaints they were receiving from the other campers regarding the same issues. The park itself is beautiful, but some of the sites are very close and there is little privacy in some areas. There is no water hook ups to fill RVs so beware of that. We drove 18 miles to the sister park just to fill our camper. The dump station is also only available at the patison campground. Overall, I do not see us coming back to stay here.
Waterfalls and trails are beautiful Great areas for picnics.
So much fun beautiful falls
BEAUTIFUL PLACE TO HIKE AND ENJOY THE MANY WATERFALLS AND ALL THAT NATURE HAS TO OFFER
