Top-notch staff
Very awesome tour and tour guide. Sarah was rad. Great visit and wonderful people. Great restaurant near by and good day trip. Adequate signage too
Katelynn was our guide, she was fantastic. We had a 5&6 year old with us. Not on time did they want to end the tour. Even during the total black out...we had the best time. Then lunch was good, our server was so patient with the kids. It was a blast had by all.
Was amazing to see what lies beneath the earth!!
Amazingly beautiful!
Very nice place and great food
Awesome food!
This place is great....if your a geologist you will love the valley and the food is awesome the cave is great too!
Top-notch staff
Meh. Nice people. Middlin cavern.
Wonderful to see nature at her best.
Friendly folks and great food at the restaurant. Well worth the trip.
Very awesome tour and tour guide. Sarah was rad. Great visit and wonderful people. Great restaurant near by and good day trip. Adequate signage too
Loved it
Very educational
Just happened to find this place. Nice tour. Although we could have used a little less of the hidden animals and fruit and more of the geology aspect of the cavern.
We didn't visit the caverns themselves but ate at the restaurant while discovering roads and scenery in the area. Decent food and attentive service.
Nice tour! Great staff and tour guides.
A must see adventure. The guided tour was exciting, and comical at times with the hi Mor injected by the guides.
Fun place to tour. Tour guide was quite entertaining. Reasonably priced. I would definitely visit here again.
Gorgeous!
Nice, simple caverns. Worth it, although I must say I preferred Shenandoah Caverns and Luray Caverns.
Beautiful place and ask for Sarah as a guide shes awesome and made it enjoyable.
Fairly easy tour with lots of history
Our tour guide, Jay, was wonderful. Good speaker, respectful and made sure we had a ride to top at the end without embarrassing anyone.
Very neat place to visit with beautiful surroundings and very friendly owners.
The kids loved the haunted cave!
Loved the caverns, though we couldve done without the quips about the formations. The guide didn't seem enthused about saying the quips so I assume she was made to say them. Give more scientific information about the caverns please
Stopped here to escape the rain and was well worth it. There's a restaurant with a beautiful view and good good (wifi also). Great gift shop with cute jewelry and clothes and stuff for children. I enjoyed the tour, we caught the last one of the day and I'm pretty sure the guide was ready to go home because it felt extremely rushed and would turn the lights off before people were even done in some of the "rooms". However, if you havent done a cave tour this I'd a fun one and appropriate for kids of all ages. They create fun stories about the different rooms which was cute. It's cold, so bring a jacket for sure. If standing or walking is a task for you you may want to think twice as you're going down slick stairs and wet walkways with limited light and some areas you have to bend over to walk through as the tunnels are very low in height.
Fun place for kids... and adults. Tour guide we had was very knowledgeable and fun. The restaurant served food that was fresh and tasty... well worth a visit!
Loved the caverns, our guide was amazing! Would recommend to anyone of any age!!
Very nice cave tour.
You travel a mile through the caves and 165ft underground. It was a cool experience. Make sure to go to Seneca Rock while you are in the area.
Great tour. Our tour guide was hilarious and educational. Our whole family had fun and learned, even the few of us who had been in Caverns before. Cute gift shop with some good priced items, and a nice restaurant right there
A great experience for the family. The restaurant had good food as well.
Kaytlan was a terrific guide; really interesting, the cavern's features are far more interesting than their own advertisements express; a change of pace. there's a restaurant on the property. it serves great food in a very comfortable environment. see if you can find road 9 north (the road that forks north, just outside the gates of Seneca Caverns). it's a classic WV backroad that intersects US-33 just south of Seneca Rocks.
Katelynn was our guide, she was fantastic. We had a 5&6 year old with us. Not on time did they want to end the tour. Even during the total black out...we had the best time. Then lunch was good, our server was so patient with the kids. It was a blast had by all.
I visited on the first day of Fall 2015. About a 20 minute drive from Seneca Rocks, Seneca Caverns offers a nice detour from the waterfalls and scenic mountains and valleys that cover this entire part of the state of WV. There's a decent amount of parking at the gift shop and restaurant, which is just next door. Tours, in the slower season, run at the top of the hour and take about forty-five minutes to an hour. Be sure to call ahead - from somewhere, while you still have cell phone reception - to verify that day's schedule. I missed the tour by fifteen minutes, and waited forty-five minutes for the next one. The quaint gift shop and ample restaurant will help you pass the time. Speaking of losing cell phone reception, print out any road maps, trail maps, and directions you need before leaving home. As for the tour itself: our guide was knowledge and friendly, and made corny jokes along the way during the tour to lighten the mood. The caverns are not 'touristy' with all sorts of colored lighting everywhere. There are approx. 250+ steps in the cavern, as well as a 1/4-mile (mostly uphill) hike back to the gift shop from the cavern exit. The interior of the cavern has numerous low ceilings, so wearing a hard-hat is required. Photography (including flash) is permitted. Take a light jacket or coat, depending on your sensitivity to 100% humidity and cooler temperatures.
Awesome! My grandchildren enjoyed the tour!
West Virginia is my hometown I have been there alot..And had a family reunion at Backwater Falls...You need to take your next vacation in West VIrginia.
If you ever have a chance to tour Seneca Caverns, do it and ask for Jay as your tour guide! He is very knowledgeable about the history of the cave and makes the tour even more interesting. Great food at the restaurant and a cute little gift shop with gem mining right outside.
Sara was a great tour guide. We got to see a lot of cool stuff in the caves. Be sure to wear long sleeves. It's constantly 52° down there. Afterwards, go to the Asbury family restaurant for a burger and some cobbler. Very good service, clean facilities (I recommend using the bathrooms in the restaurant rather than the white building the gift shop tells you about), kind servers, gorgeous view of the mountains!
The caves are so beautiful, the tour is even better, they make sure to ask questions if you are wondering. They have so much to do, including Gem Mining, A Cave Tour, A Cafe, and a Gift shop! I highly recommend to go there as a group of friends or family.
Very Nice Caverns, Friendly Staff, quaint Little Gift Shop, We even ate at their Restaurant and My Steak Sub was Very Fresh ;) Good Stuff...Worth the trip!
Awesome
Awesome! Very knowledgable guide- great experience! Wear appropriate footwear- a little wet and muddy in spots.
Awesome trip with my family for my birthday. Awesome caves to see.
What a cool place to visit. Very neat.
Good food and good service.
Not as grand as some but awesome none the less. Not a herd of people. Pleasant folks. Good food.
Great tour and cavern. Pretty property
Our tour guide was so friendly and made the walk through the Cavern fun and educational I have to say way better than Smoke Hole

Enjoyed the guided tour. The staff were very accommodating. We enjoyed the walk through the caverns. Nothing you wouldn't see in any other cavern tour. Nice picnic area and restaurant. Bathrooms were clean.
was awesome definitely cool stuff cheap prices and nice gift shop it was awesome
Cavern was nice. Tour guide wasnt very good. Talked too fast and tried to be funny which he was not.
So enjoyed it I plan to visit every year
Very enjoyable and informative tour. West Virginia could do more to sell this tourist spot. Luray caverns just across the state lines in Virginia is much more commercialized and gets huge crowds
Such a friendly accommodating staff. Excellent guided tour with very small groups. Josh our guide was very friendly fun and knowledgeable. Restaurant was very nice also. Comfortable and very tasty meals. My extra scrutinizing 18 y/o son swears it was the best cheeseburger that he had ever eaten and he knows his burgers. Make sure you call before you travel as they are not typically open Monday and Tuesday which is quite common in the area and the Canaan Valley/Blackwater Falls private specialty stores and restaurants.
We happened to come across these caverns by chance as it was raining and we couldn't hike up Seneca rocks. The caverns are beautiful, the cavern guides make the entire trip really fun with their fun facts and quips. The $15.00 price per head is quite reasonable for the experience.
Very interesting
Very impressive cave. Tour guides are knowledgeable. Restaurant is good and reasonably priced.

Awesome thanks
Awesome cavern tour, worth the trip.
I loved it! They were actually really accommodating and the guide (I don't remember his name, young blonde kid) was really good, helpful and informative. It seemed like the tour didn't last long, and although it's something that now that I've done it I don't feel a need to do it again, I'm definitely glad I went.

Very nice simple facility. Great staff and reasonable price. Not a difficult walk to visit the cave.
One of the best Caverns I been in
Amazing experience. The tour guide was very well knowledge about the caves and the history of it. Absolutely beautiful
Cavern tour is about 45-60 minutes and well done. I'm giving 4 stars because our tour guide was very novice and kept deferring to another guide. Over all very well lit and fun little tour. Some tight places and if you are over 6 ft like I am you might hit your head a few times. The additional tour guide was very knowledgeable and I stayed near him for the vast majority and got a little more insight into the cave and history of it.
Nice tour, lots of cave formations. Our guide was very friendly and informative.
Excellent cave. Very unique. Really enjoyed the tour.
Interesting and adventurous.
Classic evidence of natures magic. Tour was pretty cool and helpful..especially with regards to how the formations were created.
Took short tour which was informative and interesting
Not as pretty as it was 15 years ago but still a nice place to visit.
Wonderful place to explore
Great tour. Nice restaurant for lunch after tour.
Haunted Caverns was a great starting point for my 10 year old daughter. It was still a little scary but she could handle it. It was a good time for the whole family.
Such a interesting cave. Accomodated our large group of 15 very well. Very friendly guides and even stayed a bit late to make sure we got to see everything.
It was raining so we went subterranean. The caves were interesting with some unusual formations. What didn't work was the young tour guides constant references to movies. I want scientific information on the caves, not a review of "Shrek". Overall inexpensive and interesting but get a different guide.
Gift shop and panning for gems with grandkuds
If you have not been there I would recommend it amazing great tour guides they make you laugh tons of fun in that area
Very beautiful place to see.
This was the first time I had explored caverns, and for my boyfriend his first visit to this particular spot. We both had a blast and had a wonderful tour guide, I believe his name was Dawson. The prices in the gift shop weren't bad as well. We didn't stop to eat in their restaurant, as we were on our way home to PA. The scenery was beautiful. We would consider going back someday.
An enjoyable experience. The caverns are cool and the staff was great. My only criticism would be that the lighting didn't do anything to enhance the caves. My oldest is an aspiring geologist so we've been to various cave systems that have managed to use lights to highlight the features and not over illuminate the caverns, so we were expecting a little better in this way. Overall it was a great tour and our guide was very knowledgeable. It's worth seeing if you're in the area.
The caves where buetiful and our tour guide was amazing
Great place to see and tour guide was very informative.

The tour guide Sydney done an exceptional job. She was very thorough and kept it interesting.
Did the gem minning lots of gems but they were so big they had to be planted. Did go in caverns.
Amazing and buitfl pretty
Great staff. The cavern was unbelievably unreal.
Seneca Caverns is a karst show cave in Germany Valley near Riverton, West Virginia, USA. It was used for ceremonies of Seneca Indians, an Iroquois confederacy tribe and has been commercially used since 1930. The largest room inside the cave is the Teter Hall, which is 60 feet tall by 60 feet wide in some areas.
Great guide. Wonderful restaurant with plenty to choose from
This was a fun and educational trip! The trip leader was so knowledgeable and took the time to show us things I have never seen before or learned before. This was a great experience and I am thankful we decided to stop and tour it.
Went for the Halloween haunted tour.. absolutely awesome twist to a haunted attraction definitely reccomend.
Very fun tour. The cave was huge (didn't make me feel claustrophobic at all) and had so many interesting formations that the tour guide had funny stories about them all.
Good Halloween scares great job. A dark cave is spooky enough
Tour was fun and very informative.
Very cool roadside attraction! Gem mining for the kids and adults as well as s great tour of the caverns. Adults are $15.00 for the approx. 1 hour tour that goes for over a mile underground. Hard hats provided and you can take pictures and video during the tour. There is a restaurant onsite that has great food with great prices! Plan to spend a couple hours if you time it for lunch or dinner. Also the restaurant had a wrap around porch with nice chairs and table over looking the mountains.
Very nice place
Best food around. Great price. I have had multiple specials, and the burgers at the resteraunt are great. The tours are fun and kids like the gem mining.
Very good tour and some more awesome caverns
Nice family run operation. Simple tour, great on a rainy day.
Nice walk through cave. Great tour guides.
Great food and svc And a great price.only suggestion I had is it would be nice to have a Senior minu. They do have to go boxes yet I find it's never as good when you rewarm it and some things can't be rewarded All in all great .worth while the grip
Loved it alot of walking it took 45 mins to go thru the Caverns. Not for older people sign said 250 steps and their not kidding. Guide was very nice. Had a great time.
Wonderful!! tour guide did fantastic job! Pics turned out great! Well worth the stop
I had a genuinely good time here. Our tour guide, Jay, was knowledgable of the cave and made it very entertaining on top of that. The food at the restaurant was amazing and the gift shop was cute and affordable.
Cool scenery of the stalagmites and lagmites.
Good caverns but smaller than Luray. This can be combined with a trip to Blackwater falls and Spruce Knob. The tour guide was a young guy who was pretty good at his job. He kept everyone engaged. The price is reasonable too. Would recommend this place if you are in the area.
Interesting history, your guide was friendly and nice
Beautiful. Great Hospitality.
Fun, great photo opportunity
Nice people, cave is nice
Great time.good for all ages. Not too long or to short.plenty of stuff to keep everyone entertained.nice restaurant with reasonable prices and good food on sight.

Decent cave with lots of formations. Worth stopping by.
We had a great tour guide, an hour went by very quickly. Beautiful and entertaining cavern
Had a great experience. Loved the stories our guide told us about the stalagtites and stalagmites.
Great tour and easy to find. It is $14 for people 13 and above. $8 for kids 5 to 12. 4 and under free.
This was my favorite thing I did while visiting Seneca, WV
Cool little Halloween tour. Wish it were longer though
Had a great time there with family. Lots of cool things to see
My wife and I have never done a cavern tour before but this was an excellent first time experience. It's a beautiful drive out to the area, they have a nice restaurant right up the hill from the gift shop and cavern entrance. I recommend NOT taking a jacket into the Caverns as it really doesn't get that cold down there. Once you are down there, it's fantastic and beautiful and quite the experience. Tour guide makes it fun and is very knowledgeable. It's educational and fascinating, you have to check out Seneca Caverns, also great for families.
Amazing place to explore.
Seneca Caverns, WV had a nice peaceful tour, and lots of American Indian history. The formations inside were large and beautiful. This cave is definitely what my husband and I were looking for as we traveled around West Virginia for a long weekend doing cave tours. I highly recommend this cave and tour! :)
I loved the caverns here. Our tour guide was super sweet and funny. It was very interesting and breathtaking!! I absolutely love WV, it's one of my favorite states and it has so much to see!!
Loved it
Was pleasantly surprised. Good prices, family-friendly fun, and great restaurant. Would definitely plan another trip.
Beautiful rock formation
Really good, the tour guide was fun. Overall real good
Great tour, funny and knowledgeable guide, and don't forget to head next door for a milkshake after the tour!
Well I had never been here. And only the restaurant was open..it looked like it was hopping.with lots Hungary folks .so I said I'll explore next visit
Love this place!
Very cool and the guide had a lot of information enjoyed hearing the history of the cave
I had a genuinely good time here. Our tour guide, Jay, was knowledgable of the cave and made it very entertaining on top of that. The food at the restaurant was amazing and the gift shop was cute and affordable.
