Blue Skies

Short tour for price. Neat tilted room.

Sherri Pritt

Very interesting will mess with your head

Daniel Alt

Fairly cheap parlor tricks but the place still has a certain charm. Definitely worth a visit if you're nearby.

SHANYA TAYLOR

It was amazing, and nothing like any other.

bradford deel

Just a wonderful, kitschy experience. I took an 8 year old and a 4 year old in and they both loved it as much as I did. Even the stuff for sale in the gift shop is about as old school kitsch as it comes. (Think whoopie cushions and hand buzzers). Don't leave without a bumper sticker for your car.

john miller

Really fun in a cooky kind of way fun for kids.

Brian Brumfield

This is definitely a must do, especially if you are driving through the area. The views alone are worth the trip. We stopped by going back from Hawks Nest National Park. The tour guides are pretty funny...for school aged children. But be aware if you have certain medical conditions, which are clearly posted, don't try to find the mystery. I have an equilibrium issue so I chose to stay outside and enjoy the views and the gift shop.

agTheAMAZINGshow

I went when I was young. We kind of stumbled upon it. I can't wait to go this summer with my college friends on our road trip.

Kathryn Spivey

We were excited about this place and made a special trip to go here. They turned us away because we had a baby and were very rude in doing so. They sell Confederate flags in the gift shop which is sad and embarrassing for them. Disappointing place.

Dave Johnson

A little more enthusiasm would have been nice. It's a simple little gimmick and there are probably a bunch of people who feel ripped off when they realize what they paid to experience. The side show aspect of the place and the kitch of it all are really what you are there for. Not the kind of thing that would require a repeat visit.

Isiah Wolf

It was quiet the mystery

William Schwartz

The tour guide was awful and disrespectful. It is not worth your time and money. Move on to Hawks Nest State Park.

Mark Basniak

We literally stopped for the view. Place gave me the creeps.

Richard Wagoner

Small but we'll worth stopping. We enjoyed it and had some good laughs

Kelly Jo Barr

We arrived after hours (my friend has been talking about this place for over a year)... and when we pulled into the parking lot I heard the man behind the gate say to his friend, "Yeah. They come all f#

Danny Shrewsbury

Really enjoyed ourselves

mary queentoonlya king

I was AMAZED at the mystery hole!! Dont forget the awesome views outside!!

Comrade Mateyko

I wouldn't recommend this place unless you're passing through and not if you go up there to see it

Dave Pogue

I'm not going to recommend that anyone go too far out of their way to visit this place, but if you're passing through, it's a funny little roadside attraction.

Darcie Jenkins

Definitely a fun little stop on our drive back to South Carolina. The view from the parking lot alone is worth stopping. The tour guides are light and kind, but a bit corny at times. If you have children under 12, bring them for sure.

Pam Nichols

Very cute, the overlook view is awesome!

Chris Strunk

A little different.

Kelly Napier

We have been to the Mystery Hole several times and enjoy each time we go. The tour is always fun and they have cool souvenirs. If you are in the area you should stop and check it out.

Charlie Herbst

Amazing, a must see . Very creative

J Stemple

Fun place to stop on a road trip

Jenn Barnhill

Stopped by here last week with a group that was visiting us from Wisconsin only to leave after the lady in the gift shop was extremely rude. She stood in the corner and watched us like we were going to do something. I tried to joke with her to make it easier but she was snippy and nasty. As we left, the door was held open for us by a man there and it felt as if he was rushing us out. Needless to say she ruined this visit and none of us did the tour or purchased anything. I've lived in WV for the majority of my life and always thought this would be cool but I guess I'll never know.

Sharna Porter

Awesome

Lindsey Wachtel

Definitely a tourist trap, but pretty cute and would be great for showing kids about physics on a basic level.

Julia Raddatz

Worthwhile fun for the whole family. My daughter said, "It was like being in the movie INCEPTION." Fun spot to visit and cheaper than a movie ticket.

Erica Penner

Cute little tourist stop! Kids really enjoyed it.

Benjamin Williams

Great place to take your kids. Right off Rt. 60. Easy to find. Huge souvenir shop.

Ryan B

Fun for all ages. My friend and I went on a whim. If you pass and it and have a 15 minutes or so to burn, its worth checking out. For its location and not being some overdone expensive theme park attraction, I think you will find it to be interesting none the less. My friends first reaction at the beginning was "oh man this is for kids" and by the end he left with a smile on his face. Need I say more?

Marcia Lilly

Interesting for kids. Our grandchildren had a blast. A bit expensive.

J Hart

Very cool setup. Inexpensive souveniers and cheap admission $6.50 child 12 and under/$7.50 for adults. Do not go on the tour if you have vertigo or high blood pressure. This is posted on the rules before you buy the tickets. We even got a little nauseous from it. Tours every 15 minutes.

Bridget McClain Carpenter

We visit the Mystery Hole once a year because we love the views and friendly staff. The gift shop offers a variety of souvenirs.

Marcia Lilly

Interesting for kids. Our grandchildren had a blast. A bit expensive.

Melvin Hill

Great place to visit good view and interesting tour

Brianna White

The guy who runs this place is a complete jerk. Before going on our tour, two of the guys in our group were asked to take their phones to the car. So while they ran back to the car to put their phones away, he called for all tickets and would not wait for them to return, a two minute ask. Slightly creepy to isolate the females in the group and refuse to wait on the men that he just asked to leave. He said if we weren’t ready to go without them we could just go get a refund - not even wait for the next tour that would start in 15 minutes. We simply weren’t allowed in. Do not go here. Not worth the time or the money and the people are so rude. Specifically the man who runs it who was so abrasive in pressuring us - very aggressive. If this business was anywhere else in the world, it would be out of business.

Jason Bach

Super corney roadside attraction. Absolutely lovely, and I recommend it whole heartedly to everyone. The people there are super nice, and there's some fun souvenirs. Reminds me of the Mystery Shack from Gravity Falls.

Don Jividen

Cool place to visit.

Valentina Kuncaitis

Strange and realy nice place

Mister Rob

Fantastic roadside Americana cheesiness. Don't miss it.

Tiffany Tyler

Stopped in the off season but looked to be very entertaining!

BFamily02 Vlog

What a cute place.

Jacqui Martinez

Quick fun stop. Great views and pretty good parking. I did feel a difference in the gravity room, but it did seem like the feeling was magnified by the built angles in the room. It felt like the demonstrator tried to creep out the crowd. They try hard to make the experience last longer than what it really should, which is appreciated... but honestly I felt dizzy and was ready for it to be over. I wouldn't say it was a waste of time because it was a fun experience with my family. We also saw 2 waterfalls along the route to mystery hole, so overall it was a fun family experience! Note: the website says no large back packs or purses, so we took small ones and was still told they couldn't be taken in, on a positive note the shop offered free lockers to store our bags

David Watts

Fun place to visit

Tammy Green

Always a fun place to go with family or by yourself! Defies logic & makes a carnival fun house seem boring!

cDubya M

Tourist trap. Funny to take pics outside, but don't waste your money here. Go spend it at shops nearby to help local economy.

Jason Meador

Amazing time for my family

J Hart

Kuhl stop on a road trip.

Darlene Korman

I've passed by it for years then had the opportunity to stop there. They do a good job of showing you a ' mystery '. Our guide was really amping up his twangy voice, that was annoying.

TREY HALES

This place is absolutely insane. I literally puked my guts out when I got to my car. I had to take a break for like 2 hours after we went in. Then I had to go to the bathroom so bad. Luckily, they had a toilet. I used it for going to the bathroom. Place is totally nuts I was shocked. Glad they had that bathroom.

Angela Prichard

Fun place. I've always loved stopping by this awesome little place.

Debra Raines

Loved it! Unexplainable!

Ann Marie Killian

Tourist Trap. We paid $28 to go on a stupid 10 minute tour in a slanted room and then spent $22 in their gift shop. Waste of time and money. Don’t go

Ted McArthur

Great novelty place to visit with your kids. Hate that it's closing.

Leslie Whelan

Hookey

Tim Burnette

Very cool place to visit.

wolf hibread

Just have to come and check it out. Its amazing

Gacha Girl

This place was awesome! Fast tour so it nice thing to do when your passing through!

stacy cutright

Fun for very young children but the gift shop will clean your wallet $$$$

Deborah Poole

It's A Bad Joke. Not Worth $7.50..

Jeremy Moore

Don't expect anything crazy. Would be nice for kids though.

Paul White

I don't know why I love it.

Christopher Peasant

Awesome West Virginia road side oddity. Check it out if you're in the area.

Jessica Smith

I love the Mystery Hole. I can't wait to take my kids this summer.

Tammy Clark

Had fun.

Regina Roberts

What a wonderful little place, it's full of wonders and mysteries! The only complaint is I wish the tour was longer!

Mr. Skeltal

Got spooked Very cool and good Loved the giant gorilla Many cool mysteries here You will love it Beware: very spooky

Nick Beckham

I will say it may be worth doing once as it is an interesting experience to say the least. But they really do mean it that if you suffer from vertigo then definitely DO NOT go in! My wife & I are otherwise healthy but both of us had to sit for a minute in the car before we left as we both felt very dizzy afterwards.

Brandon Dickens

Not bad for a road side attraction the tourist could be a bit more happyer about his job

Tammy Hayes

It is the great stop on the hawk nest experience. Simple little spot. Friendly staff. And a funny little tour.

Amy Christine Taylor

I have lived in the area for almost 5 years yet I have never went to the Mystery Hole because I wanted to share it with my friends from Morgantown. While my friend was visiting yesterday, we had a stop here on our daily plan of adventuring. However, we got held up in Fayetteville and knew that we wouldn't make the 530 closing time. So, we decided to just stop and take some pictures and hopefully tour next time. When we pulled into the parking lot, as we were exiting the vehicle, we heard one of the owners/employees angerily pulling out of the parking lot, yelling to another owner/employee, "they've been coming all "fuc***" day!" Im glad that my two young children were not in the vehicle to hear such bad language and business practice. My thought is that if you don't want tourists to come to your establishment, then don't be open...but that kind of defeats the point of being a tourist attraction. In my opinion, you should be open later on Fri and Sat's anyway. Even after this bad initial impression, we were still heartset on snapping a few pictures. As we were crossing the second car parking lot to get a glimpse of the beautiful cliff view, we heard the second owner/employee rudely yell, "you're trespassing, you need to get back across the rope." Before we could even kindly explain that we were just trying to take a picture, he yelled again and threatened to call the law. This is extremely disappointing because I had many friends and familiy members that had intentions of touring The Mystery Hole upon visiting me. I will never take them or recommend this business to anyone. I will live here for the rest of my life and save my $7. My children will never step foot in this establishment. How are you going to own a unique tourist attraction, that I've seen on many "top ten things to do in wv" lists and treat customers/potential customers like this. Aren't you happy to be making money and being successful? Isn't that the point? If you continue to use vulgar language in regards to business and are as rude, soon you will be cursing that your parking lot is empty. Too bad.

Corey Lake

Quirky tourist trap.

Theri G

A quick and quirky place to stop. The tour seems to run about every 20 minutes, but you can visit the gift shop while you wait. Everyone was super friendly.

Dale Goodwin

We visited with our 10, 7, and 4 yo. We love little side of the road, family owned businesses. This is a great experience for the whole family. The guides were friendly and amused our group during the whole tour. I'm sure they've done the tour so many times, but it still was interesting and intriguing. My wife did have an vertigo issue for the rest of the day, but that is to be expected when you experience a change in gravity ;)

Mr. Skeltal

Got spooked Very cool and good Loved the giant gorilla Many cool mysteries here You will love it Beware: very spooky

Antonio Troche

Really cool

Tim Tuttle

Forrest Anderson

I will say it may be worth doing once as it is an interesting experience to say the least. But they really do mean it that if you suffer from vertigo then definitely DO NOT go in! Leslie Casto

Nice novel place, a fun experience!!

John Ellevan

Greatest and coolest thing to do in fayette county Wva

Melissa Barker

This was a waste of money. The most interesting part about this place is the view of the mountains from the parking lot. Will not return nor do I suggest anyone to visit.

Brandy Thompson

Had fun. Nice affordable summer fun for families.

Brandon Dickens

Not bad for a road side attraction the tourist could be a bit more happyer about his job

Fun little place

Jason Wilson

Fun stuff!

Barbara Donaldson

It was nice

Donald Stewart

All this time still the same

Sarah Spainhour

Grew up going here. Can't wait to show my husband and kids this weekend. For those giving a 1 star review because they weren't open, it is a seasonal attraction and you would know that if you took 2 seconds to check their site. Fair price and a fun little pit stop. I love the gift shop too.

Joseph Patchell

Nice off the maps place to visit. Come and see the Mystery Hole for yourself, you'll be amazed! This has been a attraction for several decades. A must see for travelers to the region.

chris mitchell

A neat little tourist trap using optical illusions and physics to warp your senses. Definitely heed the warnings. On the outside, just a small shack that goes about 3 levels deep but the name alone and the outside aethetics catch your eye to bring you in to a tour guide who is quite a showman himself. An alright stop if you have time to kill or are in the surrounding camp grounds and parks.

josh spinks

No trespassing signs up and closed sign

Kellan Duffy

Love it, great little tourist spot. Definitely recommend.

Nick Schaer

Classic West Virginia history, in a tourist trap for the ages sort of way.

Jesse James

Stop but they wasnt open :( super stoked about going on a tour though

Nicole Bergeron

I just went there with my soon to be husband to take the tour they have and the tour guide decided it was ok to call my soon to be husband dumb. I come to this place almost every year and never had an issue until today. I will NEVER be going back!

Trista Simmons

It's not super impressive, but the cheesy horror flick fan in me enjoyed walking into a place that seemed straight out of a Rob Zombie movie.

Chaps Benfield

Very cool spot , it's a must do if your around here

akatsuki airsoft

It was cool but it was a wast of money

Joseph Patchell

Love this place !!! Perfect for a family adventure

Azjah Hinkley

I had wanted to go ever since I moved up here and saw it.. It looks so cool!!.. Well I finally got to go after 11 years lol and I brought my baby and my cousin and my friend.. (Baby is 5 years old) and they make it seem like its going to be scary.. So it made her cry lol.. But by the end of the tour she was so super excited and has been begging to go back ever since!! Everyone there was super friendly!! There's a guy there that holds the door open for you.. Whether youre going in or out.. I read all the reviews on here and just wanted to clarify a few things... The man holding the door isn't rushing you out.. He's being polite.. They have a single rule.. No phones or cameras.. That is there to protect their mystery... And I'm really sorry the people felt that they couldnt abide by that rule and left.. They missed out... Also.. Bc of the way the "gravity" is offset and the nature of some of the lights.. It wouldnt be best to bring your baby.. The baby would end up getting hurt.. That was in yours and the babys best interest and I would hope you would try again when the baby is older bc it really is a neat place... And also.. When a business is closed and has ropes across the parking lot that say closed .. No trespassing.. And you cross that rope.. You are breaking the law!! When asked to leave and you start arguing.. The man has every right to tell you to get off his property or he's calling the cops.. Thats just how it works lol.. Anyways... Hope my review helped.. It really is an amazing little place and the views are to die for!! Just great!!

Joe Batistie

Not allowed to comment on what I saw. Tour guide is adorable.

Owners of Horrorink Rodney & Amy Harper

We think it's a great place! We have visited a couple times. It certainly is a unique and rare oddity that should be treasured.

Robin McDerment

Finally visited, but if you suffer from vertigo or have an inner ear imbalance, the unlevel room will be hard on you. Not for very young children in my opinion.

Joe Campbell

Interesting place and cool people

Trevor Kinch Photography

Very cool little mystery spot if your in the area. Fun tour, well worth the money.

Ann Tarantino

Place looks fun from the outside. They were closed so I can't review much.
