Amazing place and my experience left me speechless. The site is very well maintained. It provides a great visual for those that just don’t know about us and it also provides a home for all of us that might have no where else to call home in the male-dominate environment.

Hailey Clay

Beautiful!

The small exhibits were clearly crafted with love and attention to detail. The videos and visuals were moving and informative. I was disappointed to see that this tribute to the women who have served receives no federal funding. Even through the cemetery was crowded, I was alone for much of my time in the memorial. If you are visiting Arlington, this memorial is certainly worth walking through.

S. Singleton

It's a beautiful and fitting memorial to women who have served in our US armed forces. I've visited many times and continue to get women who have served to register with WIMSA and to tell their stories. Each story is important and should be recorded for eternity.

One of the interesting attractions at the Arlington National Cemetery is the Women in Military Service for America Memorial located at the Hemicycle building at the end of Memorial Avenue. The building is open from 5-8pm daily. This is respectable memorial which honours and spotlights essential contributions of female serviceman to the U.S. Armed Forces during various wars and periods of conflict. The memorial building is has neo-classical features and includes exhibition halls and galleries where you can read stories and see artefacts and learn more about how females have participated and played intricate part of the US. Armed Services throughout its history. Just a few minutes walk from the main Arlington National Cemetery Visitor Centre, you can conveniently visit the Women in Military Service for America Memorial before making your way up the hill to the President John F. Kennedy Grave and the Arlington House.

At one point this was just basically a type of retaining wall but then it was transformed into a beautiful memorial. There are several pieces inside that commemorate female veterans. The building always get plenty of natural light from the ceiling which makes it feel relaxing. The staff are kind and informative.

The Women in Military Service For America Memorial is the first stop you'll make if you're arriving at Arlington Cemetery by Metro. Inside there are plenty of great exhibits along with a presentation hall where you might catch a lecture on the history of Arlington Cemetery. If you're in to photography then you'll want to make the climb outside to see the amazing view back in to Washington, DC.

The museum was booked for a catering event on the day and immediately following the services for Colonel Prevette. The meal was outstanding and the facility and displays were amazing. Visited the museum for my niece's US Army promotion ceremony to LTC. The museum was a very fitting location for this event. It was humbling to see the many acknowledgement of military women serving in a very bold way. That day I was proud of my niece and even more proud of all women who serve/served in the USA armed forces.

I want to say thanks to the nurses that cared for me in 1970-71. Whether they were at a hospital in Vietnam (Cu Chi), Japan (the 249th), or here in the USA (Walter Reed and Valley Forge) I was always given the best of care.
