You may have noticed that it reaches an feddbacks average is almost the best one, and it's founded on a large number of feddbacks, so we can say that the assessment is very credible. If there are many people who bothered to give their review when they've done well, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to write evaluations when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Tourist Attraction is classified in the category of Tourist attraction.
The shining gem of this place was Patti the waitress in the 1957 all original cafe. The caverns were real interesting, the tours were fun, and lunch was really really good...But Patti stood heads above Everyone else in service and general attitude....she really knows how to make a family feel special !!!! Thanks again for the Patti Special!
It was amazing place. I would recommend seeing this place . Umm like me I get cold so I would recommend pants , a jacket tennis shoes it's get less than 55 degree but don't let the temperature change your mind it a beautiful place inside.. some of the people was there said they love the cold...
Long drive from Richmond but totally worth it! Prices for law enforcement weekend same as military discount. You can check the yellow barn for free right down the block. Guides are very acknowledged in the cavern and they take their time without rushing you. Was able to take many pictures and being kids to enjoy this view. Very beautiful!
Interesting caverns to see natural rock formations. Plus they have a store and small museums for unique memorabilia. The barn has old farm equipment and American Celebration has parade float features of historical interest.
It very nice and pretty and our tour girl made it really fun.
Jaw dropping beauty. I stood in awe as the tour guide, Sarah, explained to us the formations with her own splashes of humor here and there. It's otherworldly being 200 ft below the surface and learning the history of this geological relic. If you are claustrophobic I would be careful, as some areas are more cramped then others. The gift shop was decently priced. Ladies bathroom only had one sink. The cafe they have looked exciting, but unfortunately couldn't grab a bite.
An experience you have absolutely cannot deny your whole family to witness!
The tour was very fun and informative. The staff was friendly and helpful. Would go again.
Have been here max by times and gave never been bored by the beauty it beholds
Great place to visit with family and friends. A mile long course inside the cave filled with natural rock formations. Tour guides are very friendly. Tour time was around 90 minutes. Really worth a visit.
Great tour. Kida loved the Caverns!
Great to do in summer! Nice and cool. Lots of opportunities to walk around even though it's a guided tour.
Beautiful caverns with easy access. young tour guide did an excellent job, was well prepared and answered questions knowledgeably.
Wonderful caves. I've seen Luray, Lost World, Seneca, and this one on my vacation so far, and Shenandoah is a must-see in my opinion. Definitely worth it. My tour guide was Lia, and she was knowledgeable, personable, and really seemed to care about making the tour go well. Was a fun tour. Also, make sure you stop by the American Celebration facility as you drive in (can't miss it since it has a Statue of Liberty). It's free, unusual, and only takes a maybe 20 minutes to see. Where else can you see a bunch of parade floats up close? The yellow barn, though, is skippable. But who cares? Amazing caverns and floats!
Great place. Employees are excellent and dont get the deserved credit.
Enjoyed it, the tour and the tour guide Grayson was out standing and be sure to stop by the other exhibits
Nice caverns to visit. We had a good tour guide and there are some nice photo ops in the caverns.
I dont know about the va cave ... was wonderful and new experience to go down in the elevator to to see them .
Went with family reunion, awesome place with wonderful staff. I was very impressed with both.
Fun and beautiful caverns. Staff is extraordinary.
Lovely back to the old days experience. Well kept caverns, nice informant guide.
A great guided tour, with amazing caverns inside. This is naturally occuring phenomenon with rocks emerging naturally. Definitely a must visit if you are visiting Virginia.
First time there. Tour guide Lea P was excellent very informal. Was amazed of the beauty of the carvern . i will definitely be going again
Was very beautiful and interesting! Must see in that area.
Enjoyed using the chair lift. We felt that Lake Lauren could still be open on weekends.
Great staff! This place was amazing! Not just because the natural wonder that it is. Our tour guide, Carlos, was fantastic-the perfect mix of knowledge, corny jokes, and kind snark. My boys enjoyed listening to him talk about the caves, and so did I. We ate at the diner, and Patty was the kindest person. She and my oldest bonded over Elvis. Definitely recommend!
Absolutely beautiful sparkling caverns! Huge caverns that are some of the deepest around.
Very nice lots of other things to see in addition to the Caverns
Beautiful place must go again. People need to learn manners not to touch anything but Desi people have problem following guidelines they should put heavy fines for touching anything in cave.
Great experience! Have been to Luray Caverns before so we wanted to see something new and was not disappointed. Definitely watch your head on this tour since there are smaller spaces. Would recommend trying out the cafes 1957 milkshakes 10/10.
It was a beautiful place to see. It was the first time my wife and I had ever been to Virginia.
Enjoyed the very informative guided tour with friendly and helpful staff. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
Very nice tour done by our tour guide Leah.
IT WAS A GREAT TIME WITH MY BEST FRIEND WOULD LOVE TO DO IT MANY MORE TIMES IT'S NOT THAT FAR TOO GO 4 A WEEK END GET AWAY
I haven't been since I was a little kid. I enjoyed seeing it again and taking my granddaughter. The underground wonders are wonderful. Seeing it through a child's eyes brings back wonderful memories.
Genuinely interesting, well preserved mostly.Dress in layers , you are 60 ft. At the elevator. Watch your head -a hat is a good help. Awe inspiring ..nice... Yet from a different time or World..
I haven't seen any other caverns in the area but I enjoyed Shenandoah with my family aged 4 and 9. Both kids enjoyed the tour, the formations look amazingly beautiful and are so incredibly old! There is an elevator so no steps unless the elevator is out of service due to, for example, a storm. There is occasionally some stooping required to get through more narrow passageways. The walk is a gentle mile long and you may need a sweatshirt or something because it is cool down there. Our guide Carlos was knowledgeable and entertaining. We wish him all the best in his future studies.
Great experience, short wait and the guided tour is really fun!
Loved it especially our guide was the best. And the best part spending time with my kids. Even know they are young adults.
I loved it. Great place for family
If you are a cavern lover check this place out as soon as you can. It is a fun cave and every visit down you will have a guide telling you all the details about every little crack, hole, tunnel, formation and more. Speaking of formations this is a very active cave meaning it is wet down there and dripping everywhere "I recommend a hat". The whole cave is still growing due to the water dripping so if you like seeing caves in action go here. You will not be disappointed
Knowledgeable guide Grayson was great!
Prefer luray caverns over this.
Nice place for watching caverns, but check temperature online before go in caves. it has a lot deference between outside and inside temperature in cave.
Super place Alison our guide did a great job with the tour. Very informative. More natural formations than Luray in my opinion and a little more bending to avoid ceiling and walls. Love the
Cell service is horrible in the caverns... JK this place is cool and everyone there was nice. Bring a raincoat or umbrella if you are worried about getting a few drops of water on you since the cave drips a lot.
Laid back and let you move at mostly your own speed.
Caverns are beautiful! There is an elevator to take you down to view the cavern which was the only reason I could access the caverns since I can't do stairs. I did have to stand out part of the tour though because there are some steeper inclines that just weren't accessible to me. There is a hub where several branches seperate, and I had to send the husband and kids ahead to see the rest of the formations. It would be nice if they could maybe add some bench seating here, or even just keep a few folding chairs handy for those with limited mobility.
Really neat place, lots of stuff to see and do for one price. Neat history
Super value!! Better than most caverns, lots included!! Trust me, u won't regret! Leah is the best tour guide alive! A natural who lives her job! >Chief Chief and Sarge Channel on YouTube
The caverns are absolutely beautiful! Elevator takes you down and you're in another world. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and just a pleasure to be with. Our group had 6 in it which was great to have such a personalized tour, unlike others we've been on before. If you're traveling rt. 81,this is a must see.
Interesting caverns tour. Certainly worth the visit. The unique 1957 soda stand offers a piece of history that is delicious.
$25 gets you a guided tour through some beautiful caverns. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and the pace of the tour was nice and slow. You also get access to the Mainstreet of Yesteryear display, which features a large collection of antique window displays. Our favorite part of the experience, aside from the caverns themselves, was the original 1957 diner on premises. The diner's caretaker, Patty, made us some awesome milkshakes and we enjoyed playing music on their original jukebox.
I love it. Very beautiful nature of god. Ticket is 25 or 35 for each person to enter in. 1 miles walking in it but is worse to see in. Love it. If I had more monies I would go to all of them.
Absolutely amazing had a wonderful time about an hour tour very informative the staff was very friendly.
Excellent restaurant, beautiful cavers, GREAT guide Grayson
An easy stop off the highway. Well worth it to learn about geology.
It was pretty and fun to experience with my friends there ps so cool
SO WORTH THE STOP! ❤️ We absolutely loved our tour guide Brooks and the sights. Pictures do not do justice. Please make this a stop on y'all's trips
Incredible natural phenomenon. If you are passing by this area you absolutely have to stop by and check this out. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting a whole lot. But I was dead wrong. This place is incredible! The stalactites and stalagmites, …
This is one of the most beautiful places we have been .we go once a year and it is just amazing .I place for the whole family
Great place to visit with the family. The tour guides are knowledgeable and friendly. They also have two museum like places within walking distance of the cavern. they have gifts and a little snack shop right inside the cavern. shop.
Great staff, educational. Beautiful. Worth the stop
This was my first ever experience to visit the unique natural phenomenon called "caverns". Shenandoah valley area has plenty of caverns and this one is quite popular among people of all ages. We liked that it was guided tour so you don'y …
You took the elevator down. Very easy walking down in. Assessible for strollers and wheelchairs, and very friendly for Senior Citizens. The tour was very good, interesting. Great gift shop too!
Beautiful place , nice costumer service I think is worth the price . The temperature is between 50 and 54 degrees in the caverns so for me that I like the cold weather was perfect, so maybe for others a sweater will be need it . They have and elevator to take you to the caverns but handicapped people dont will be able to complete the tour just be advised of that.
Fun, fascinating, beautiful scenery. Good for all ages.
Had a lovely time with the family. Two of us were a little scared to try. So. The manager offered to take us down to have a quick look. Very kind. No pressure. After looking we decided to try it. It was fantastic! Our guide Lea was cheerful, thoughtful and very informative. Highly recommend!
We went on a Friday morning with Carlos as our tour guide. We had a great time, Carlos did a nice job explaining things (including corny jokes)! Approximately $25 per adult. Cafe available with food and treats.
Really loved this place. My girlfriend and I went during a slow period when there was nobody around. It was just the two of us. Really awesome tour guide. Younger guy. Really cool. I wish I could remember his name. Absolutely beautiful caverns. Really interesting history. The gift shop had a ton of cool stuff and the little diner was so cool. Had a delicious milkshake. Overall a wonderful experience.
The tour of the caverns was excellent. Our guide was Brandon and he was knowledgeable of the science and history of the caverns. But what sets Shenandoah Caverns apart is the amenities on site. We thoroughly enjoyed the additional museums with historic parade floats and department store window settings as well as the old soda fountain.
These caverns are less crowded than Luray caverns, we went on the tour with a group of 15 people and it was amazing. Our guide Sarah provided lots of information and added some stories for fun :-) Caverns are very beautiful and temperature is mild, we didn't even need long sleeves. Don't miss their museum upstairs, it's nothing I've ever seen before!
Great place to visit, especially if you're into Geology. Bring a camera! Very easy walking. The tour is under an hour.
Interesting to see the formations of the rock. Take a sweater or hoodie, its chilly!
The caverns was beautiful. We were apart of a large group, so it took time to get through the caverns. The guide patiently waited for us. At the end of the tour, we did the dino mining gemstones sluice. It is a great individual or family activity. We bought the motherlode bag for $29.95. you can get a prospector bag for $5.95. There was some great rock and fossil specimens. You get to play with water, dirt and rocks. There is also a playground for the kids. The food there was great and the employees were very helpful. And it made my day with having a working jukebox.
Pretty cool caverns. Tour guide Patricia was super friendly and knowledgeable
I really enjoyed the views and hearing about the history of the caverns. I thought the price was a bit steep though, $25 for 1 adult. The tour guide gives you a brief description of each room of the cave and gives time for photos to be taken before moving on.
Caverns were fabulous. Great tour guide Leah. Food at the little 1950s soda shop was great also but they desperately need to hire more help, the wait was way too long and it takes forever to even place your order.
Staff was incredible and so friendly. Tour guides was more knowledgeable than they were in Luray Caverns, and the caverns really felt like an exciting adventure. The staff member in the dinner chit chatted with us and felt like family by the time we left. Take your family, take your friends. Go on a date, or to get married. It's really a great place!
Great place to take the kids for a couple of hours. Friendly staff and lots to see. Good stopoff point on I-81.
. Beautiful place with lots of history
Leah P. was a fantastic guide! She was very knowledgeable and friendly. This was a great experience for our family. Definitely a little more "rugged" than Luray Caverns, but that lended to it's charm and made for a fun experience.
Carlos is the best tour guide! Thanks so much for the fun, beautiful, and entertaining tour. We had a great time. The 1950's style cafe was awesome, and so was Patty. We'll be back because of ya'll being so awesome!
Love it, breath taking scenery.
Great tour of the cave. They also have these bags of gemstones and crystals you can purchase they are beautiful. I got the mother load.
The tour guide was wonderful and the sights were overwhelmingly beautiful. There were too many people in our group though, if there were more guides available to split these large groups up it would have made for a much better experience. If it wasn't for that 1 downfall, I would have given 5 stars.
Had a blast with my son and his class on a feild trip!
A wonderful Cavern tour! One of the best, and easy to navigate. Love the elevator. Easy tour for Seniors!
Enjoyable and impressive, however too pricy. 22 dollars for each adult with AAA discount. We did not feel it was worth that much.
Loved it. Carlos our guide was full of knowledge and funny. Caverns was amazing. Highly recommend.
Our tour guide was amazing. She had a great knowledge of these caverns and answered all the questions with a smile. Great experience!!
Very nice place, a little fun. Great for family.
The tour was a little hectic (due to other patrons walking away from their tour guide and groups) but the caverns were spectacular! We were able to take our strollers through all but one part; there was a place to park them. The store was tidy and there is a cute diner onsite for sandwiches and drinks. Also, a playground for kids, a gem mining station, and other attractions onsite.
Caverns are great, tour guides are awesome. Ticketing agents and who ever answers the phones however are some of the worst I've ever dealt with. In person they were not friendly at all and they never answer the phone. When going in person …
Wonderful time, elevator down made for a very easy walk through a gorgeous cave.
This is really a very beautiful place for all. Cave is stunning. A guide explained very well what about cave. I love this place.
Shenandoah Caverns may not be Virginia's largest, but what it lacks in size, it gains in value for your dollar. Unique formations, incredible geology, and amazing history!! I have been there multiple times and it never ceases to impress. Also, check out America on Parade full of historic parade floats made by a local family! I thought it would be lame, but it was anything but. The big yellow barn was kind of silly, though. After touring the caverns, check out Route 11 Chips right around the corner, then drivd across on of Virginia's few remaining covered bridges!! Please like my review if it was helpful. Thanks!
Spectacular caverns - we had the luck to be only 5 on the guided tour and got extra informations. You will really like this - but please don't touch anything. Highly recommended!!
The caverns were so beautiful. It was great to get out of the heat and go underground. The tour guide was a little cheesy but he was young so we didn’t mind.
Haven't been there in years, but still cool. Much nicer than Linville Caverns, but prefer Blanchard Springs myself.
We enjoyed our visit. We did NOT enjoy the canned jokes told by the guides. Neither the jokes nor the guides were funny. Keep it informational. If I want a comedy, I'll turn on Colbert Report.
Have you ever been on any cave tour? Then don't bother visiting this one. This cave is the most barren cave I've ever seen. AND cave 101 they never seem to turn off their light so the inside is covered in green mold. So you go to maybe 6 "rooms" where the most basic formations populate maybe a 1/4 of the room. They also crammed as many folks as they could into each tour so we had 25 people on our tour. Dont waist your money. Luray caverns had the most spectacular views my family has ever seen. We spelunk all around the country and this trip Luray was the finest cave we have seen so far. Sadly Shenandoah caverns on the same trip was the worst. Look at the pics; each room was cut out or cracked open but had hardly any formations.
This is so much more than caverns. The caverns are amazing, with a nice guided tour. The lights, the stone, the stalactites and stalagmites are interesting. But there’s also the parade floats, the barns and more. You get a ton got your time!
Interesting experience for my daughter and I. She had never been in a cave especially one of this massiveness. Guide was a it corny but fun.
Amazing place. Love it!!
We had a fantastic time today. What a hidden gem. Caverns are spectacular and made all the better by our wonderful guide Lisa! Highly recommend!!!
Very safe and sanitize cave tour with nice guides and just the right amount of time and distance before it gets slightly boring.
Great place to visit and explore if you want to go for a one day trip from Richmond. Its beautiful and i loved it since it was the 1st time for me to visit caves. They have a gift shop and a snack bar area but better to carry food with you since the snack area mostly remain closed. They have guides who will take you on a tour underground in an elevator and explain how the caves are formed. Mostly takes 1hr for the tour.
Beautiful! A little coslty, still very nice.
Nice Caverns. Good place to take the kids to learn about geology. They've got a panning for gems and fossils area too. A restaurant onsite. A Museum right next door.
Loved this place, my family and I will definitely visit again!! Highly recommended
Great caves! Guides are awesome and have a great sense of humor. Patty will make you amazing ice cream sodas in the 50's era soda shop!
Beautiful! Kids and adults loved every minute.
I had a great time. The guide Annalise was very informative and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this place.
It is cool down there. So bring a jacket etc. Great experience!!!
Comfortable walk. Elevator ,very noligable guide
We arrived at a time that allowed us to be on a small tour. Our guide Annalise did a nice job. The formations were incredible-some of the best I have seen. Tour is 45-60 minutes. Includes the America on Parade (Float Museum) and Yellow House. The float museum (4 Stars) was very interesting-some are actually animated. There is also an impressive toy railway. The Yellow House (3 Stars) (across the street from the floats) houses restored buggies, cars and other interesting memorabilia. Picnic area and play structure for the kids. Café open limited hours. Well worth a stop.
There is more than just the Cavern.
This was the first one in US. I was expecting it to be a bit more rustic and adventurous but guess this was also decent enough. Have heard that Luray is a better one though. Might be able to devise a comparison after visiting Luray.
They were absolutely beautiful and our guide Leah was super informative. It was a lot of fun. Just remember it's cold down there!!
What a beautiful cavern and extremely sweet staff. Such an incredible sight to see. A wonderful experience. The tour guide was so kind and geniunley engaged in his audience, understanding with people who needed time for photos, kids, children etc. And had an upbeat sense of humor. Well worth the price in my opinion. (You have a wonderful staff and should be very proud of your business and yourselves. This is a rare thing these days. Thank you!)
No steos to navigate to the b ottom of caverns like others around there cause they take you down in a elevator.. Smaller groups I tour and better guides and shorter lines.. You seen one stalagmite you seen em all
Took 28 kids on a field trip. Enjoyable for young and old, alike. I highly recommend.
Beats the heck out going to luray. Good restaurant and gift store. Your was nice
I live this place. Very fun and good place to spend family time.
We had the best cave guides in Kristen and Grayson. The caves are awe inspiring. Glad I brought a sweater as it was chilly. Lots of head ducking and rough terrain, but easily walkable. A little pricey for what it was but thoroughly enjoyable, safe, and fun.
Outstanding, both the caverns themselves and the Celebration of America and the Yellow Barn. Absolutely worth it.
It's great for first time visitor but having seen both Luray and Shenandoah, I lean a bit more towards Luray for it is bigger and grander. Although both caverns have something unique of their own to offer.
Sara was great guide Beautiful unique cave Nice floors definitely worth the stop.
Great tour! Analise, our guide, was wonderful and very informative. We really enjoyed it.
God is magnificent!!!! Cavrens are His art work
Great little cave tour, right off the highway, only a mile long and an hour start to finish. Leah our guide was great. Recommend getting there early and going there first tour. Gets a little busy after that.
Interesting rock formations, pleasent tour guide. Why does every attraction nowadays always seem to cost $25.00 a person. I do not think it was worth the cost. There was about 30+ people on the tour, and for some reason they all had to have their picture taken in front of every formation. It was difficult to take a great picture that fully showed the experience without someone in the way. There was too many people on the tour. The walk is a there and back of about a half mile each way with a elevator to take you to the cave. No a good place e for very young kids. In the cave are some very interesting crystal formations. Up top in the store they have crystals for sale. Unfortunately what is for sale are all imported or are dyed to make them look Interesting.
Real good peoples and guide.
Beautiful well guided tour. The caverns are well worth visiting. Extremely happy with my visit. I will definitely suggest it when other family or friends visit this area.
These caverns are a phenomenal view of what's under our feet. There are no tigjr spots to crawl through, only some low spots. I'm a little claustrophobic but I did fine. The elevator down had a musty smell, but that went away after we got off. It was well worth the trip. The guide and the people in the shop were fabulous. See Patty in the 1957 dinner. Shell feed you well!
Had a great time! This cavern is so unique! And everyone was super nice. Milkshake was delicious! Went on an off day so we basically got a private tour! Tour guide was a cool dude.
Beautiful! This was my first time in any caverns. Sadly, the year my class trip went to see caverns in PA, I fell ill. The elevator ride down was an experience in itself because the technology dates to the 20s or 30s. The tour guide was …
