Great place to run and you can take the family etc. Very friendly and safe
Very convenient location! Leaving my car here felt safe and secure as there are homes around, and I'm sure they take notice to who comes and goes. The initial incline from the entrance is quite a lot, but once you get to the "top" it's absolutely beautiful! There's even a picnic table at the entrance so you can enjoy a quick meal, and make sure you're good to go.

I would love to hiking all trail one day. Only walk portions of it at the Smoky Mountains.
Ok
It's a hiking trail.....what more can I say?
Quiet and undisturbed while still seeing signs of life
I love it
Good parking and nice access to Goose Creek
My love.
This place is so green!!
Super helpful folks inside, the gentleman took his time explaining the local part of the trail and how to get to Jefferson's Rock and across to the Maryland side of the trail.
Great, funny book. Never hiked in my life, but I read the Bill Bryson book!

A great trail
I love it
Love the peace and tranquility! Each section has its own beauty.
Nature is beauty
Love hiking and the AT is some of the best!
The Appalachian National Scenic Trail, generally known as the Appalachian Trail or simply the A.T., is a marked hiking trail in the Eastern United States extending between Springer Mountain in Georgia and Mount Katahdin in Maine. Did you know: The Georgia Appalachian Trail Club manages, maintains and protects the Appalachian National Scenic Trail in Georgia with volunteers from its membership and the interested public.
Fun and pain-inducing. All that is worth it in seeing the beautiful sceneries.
We don't have a gem like this in Canada. Not that you can hike til you crash and then camp as you wish. This is truly worth a day, overnight, section or thru hike. Get outside and fall in love with nature. Your quads and knees may scream but your heart will be full.
Never been there
So long you wont believe it!
Very peaceful place for shopping with family and friends
Awesome, Beautiful, and Exciting...
Traveling the Appalachian Trail is an amazing experience. Being in nature is very comforting, grounding an it makes you feel like you are apart of this planet. Being in a urban environments for to long makes you forget about Mother Earth.
Tough hike with 1,143 feet of elevation gain in only 2.4 miles up to the shelter. The spring water supply near the shelter is refreshing and very cold.
It's the Appalachian Trail. It's fantastic. And Harper's Ferry is the most adorable museum town I've ever seen.
Beautiful trail, very scenic.
Have only hiked small sections in the Appalachian Mountains if North Carolina. Beautiful sights. The trail is quite long and too much to hike for me . I have hike a few sections of it and I have to say that the Max Patch section in NC is my favorite., just loved that feeling of openness up there. The views are really beautiful.
Can't beat this trail! Breathtaking
If you are looking for a long trail in the Appalachians, this one is for you. Trees, rocks, whatever, they have it.
It is an awesome place.
This place no good. I went here and saw snoop dog. I said hi and we smoked some salt shakers and we partyed all day and all night. By the end of it I was so tired I fell asleep on an umbrella. When I woke up it turns out it wasn't real snoop dog and it was a member of the hood. They kidnapped me and put me into the side of a truck. Like they taped me there. They also poked me with sticks as they were driving. It hurt alot. Once we arrived I went kamikaze and did sweaty 90s on them. I 1 pumped all of them and they died. I proceeded to build the place into a paradise. That is the story of my grandads dog's adventure.
It was wonderful
I have never been to this trail but it’s on my bucket list to hike the whole thing.
Always amazing!
Love the areas segments of the AT. But mostly in winter. FROM late Spring to early Fall it is so crowded sometimes THERE ARE ACTUALLY BACK UPS. Kinda crazy for out in the woods.
Love it,nice to be in family! !!!
It's so nice
Trail is way too long. It's been months and I'm still not finished.
Well, it's just the beginning (or the end) of the Appalachian trail, so not much in the way of actual facilities or service... But I'm sure many other thru and section hikers can relate to that special location, and that plaque embedded in the rock. Good luck and happy trails, whether you are starting, finishing, or in between.
Great hiking trails and parking
It is a beautiful place where there is water everywhere and green areas, you can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere.

It was good and still I am trying to learn more about it
I, am very great full for having the opertunity, to experience the Beauty of the totality of the trail, Wow is all I can say, I am looking forward to the preparation of Doing it again.
Amazing trail.. one of the best Trail with descent challenges. lot to hike and like. Good signs and shelter details so you are not lost. It's steep, so be prepared. Water everywhere so water refills are easy. Can plan to hike during hot whether too as it's full of trees.. at least near Shenandoah VA area. Nice camping areas and shelters and maintained well. We took 6 and 8 year olds and they were comfortable. Plan to do it again and more miles next time :)
I think it is the best trail in the world.
This place is amazing
Nice road to visit Everglades
It's the Appalachian Trail. It's fantastic. And Harper's Ferry is the most adorable museum town I've ever seen.
I never gone ther but it looks cool
Amazing zone
Great hiking trail!
Peaceful and easy to get to for hiking
How do you rate one of the most amazing resources on the East Coast of the US? It's like saying the Grand Canyon was "great". Words can't do it justice. Just go and wander!
Wonderful view and relaxing as you walk.
Its ossam place. I really feel positive atmosphere
Google has put this review of Appalachian trail access, Tuckers Lane, under the ATC address, I can't get it fixed. Sorry. So, if you are looking for AT parking at Manassas Gap, VA, via Tuckers Lane: Big parking lot just off Rt 55. I've parked overnight here several times with no problems. There is an info board with map and a picnic table. (No trash can-please pack it out!) This lot fills up quickly, but there is a small lot on Rt 55.
Well marked trail, dog friendly, took us 2hs each way . Moderate hiking level, 6.2 miles and 1.552 feet elevation. The views are absolutely beautiful and totally worth! Can’t wait to go back in October to appreciate the Autumn colors!
Chill AF, great hiker box, old dude is pretty kool also Sprite '19
The description says the trail starts here, but it doesn't. Starts on top of Springer Mountain, Georgia, (near Dawsonville) and ends on top of Mount Katahdin, Maine (near nowhere).
Drove through. Beautiful drive
loved it and I'll never do it again
Nice Trail
Want to go so bad
Fantastic spot for a hike. Nice sized parking lot and easy access to the highway. This trail is always magical.

Nothing better then poopin in the woods!
One of the good Shopping Center
Nice spot to hop on the trail. Parking right across the highway.

A very nice walk on this part of the Appalachian trail through rocky, rolling woods and farm land. Some of the farms go back to the 1700's with original building and stone fences still in use.
Friendly workers!!!
Did the section between Manassas Gap and the northern tip of Shenandoah recently and I loved it. Great views and just beautiful and fun through and through
Good service with better quality
Exceptional views, easy access to the trails.with stops and places to camp along the way. If you want to walk the trail, bring along your gear and just commune, this is an excellent starting point. The trail is kept clean by fellow hikers, we always do the same.
Great place
Magnificent bro
Beautimus. My kids hated it though.
Walk the trail
I pooped somewhere near here, I highly recommend it. Please do it far enough off the trail so I don't have to see it though.
Well maintained trail that takes you through breath taking splendors of nature.
Most beautiful place on earth
Beautiful scenery and trails for every fitness level.
Beautiful view nice for a date :)
Absolutely Beautiful!!!!
It was nice
It was good
Beautiful natural beauty
DEAR GOOGLE, WHY IS THERE NO WAY TO SUGGEST CORRECTING THE LOCATION DESCRIPTION. This is not the start of the Appalachian Trail.
Nice.. 2200 miles long.. good for long hikers only..
This trail is too long. From ME to GA. is too long! I would never ever ever hike on that trail!!!!!
The Appalachian Mountain Trail is 3,500 km long. The mountain road is well built and the markings are clear. The area we are in is very safe and the weather is very good.
Very nice trail parking
Cool to be
Very dark at night, needs more street lights. Also, WiFi was terrible! I needed to watch True Blood, And the bears stole my Nut Bars! Terrible. But the trail was a trail, so I guess that was alright.
Very difficult hike but well worth it
Awesome place
Started doing this section in boy scouts 35years ago still love the trails
Nice time
Had a great time
For you'r histori and your belleza .
i didn’t see evan hansen
The AT is an amazing place. thank you for your efforts!
Nice
Good place
This is a great trailhead with good parking. Good access to the Appalachian Trail in middle Virginia. For all thru hikers and nature lover backpackers, there is a deep understanding that any trailhead to the Pacific Crest Trail or Appalachian Trail is 5 stars, as it brings you to the wonder and majestic magic of nature and connection with the universe.
This is inaccurate. The start of the AT is at Springer Mountain in GA or Amicalola Falls if you do the approach. If you do the reverse you would start at Mount Katahdin and go south to Springer Mountain.
So good
Absolutely incredible hike. Congratulations to everyone who finished it.
Nice place
Great spot to pick up the AT. Close to the halfway point at Harpers Ferry.
The amount of work that has been done to make this is amazing
He is a awesome an newer fail for aap
yes is really beautyfull...
Enjoy the great outdoors, every human ever born is responsible for destroying it, so it see it while you can.
Absolutely amazing. Definitely bucket list material.
We stopped there to get information on Harper's ferry area ! The people there were all really friendly !! It's actually a place for hikers to stop and get cleaned up ! We saw a few go in and out ! We saw an area for them to sleep also ! They had all kinds of information about the trail !!
The tooltip text on the Google Maps entry says "Start of the famed 14-state hiking trail" but the marker is in Virginia, which is nowhere near the start of the trail.
Hike for a day, hike the whole thing.
I took today to spend with a Friend. He drives Tractor Trailers and he promised if I rode with him he would Provide breakfast and Lunch so of course, I jumped in!!! It was nice I ate, slept and enjoyed the beautiful view. Here are some Pics I have to share with you! Turtles!
AWESOME experience..
i really like the hills
It was the best experience of my life!
Lots of info. Merchandise pricey.
Was beautiful until I ran into a chupacabra, tried to take my nut bars and reeses
Well kept. I appreciate the volunteers that help keep the AT maintained.
This is one of my favorite stretches of trail. I love to watch it change as the seasons move through. Each storm leaves a mark, a scar, a memory. The parking area is a great picnic spot, as well as a place to leave gifts for the thru hikers. Continue north to the Manassas Gap Shelter or south to Trumbo Hollow. Each spot has its own personality and beauty.
Trail is well marked and maintained. A lot of the water sources are very close to drying up, so fill up whenever you can. Putting it off could leave you thirsty
Very informative place
It was a Beautiful trail I hiked a lot of trails in the boy scouts but none compared to the Appalachian trail its a lot of nature to soak in I wish I was able to WALK THE WHOLE trail to SEE the beautiful nature our country has to offer before its gone with a corrupt president distroying OUR national forest its ONLY a matter of time tell he distroys the trail too so if YOUR able get out THERE and hike it before the corrupt government PIG'S distroy s it
